Reviews for Hotel Eden
Review 1:Really stylish hotel, spacious and well laid out room, including little balcony which you can sit out on. Great for work travel, as there was a good size desk, beautiful furniture. Easy to get to from the airport (15mins on the bus) and easy walk (10 mins) to UN institutions such as UNHCR.
Review 2:Great location near lake of Geneva, convinient bus connection with the city center, umbrella in each room, free public communication card for every guest
Review 3:It needs a facelift, but they are working on it. Had to ask for tea/coffee facilities - for the price they should have been included
Review 4:Although out of the main drag, this hotel is close to trams and very easy access. The hotel gives you free public transport tickets so it doesn't cost a thing. Beds super comfy and if you get an updated room, they are a good size and the bathroom and shower are excellent. Continental breakfast more than adequate. Very small lift, but at least there was one! Overall it's a pleasant stay with a typically high Geneva price.
Review 5:Reception was warm and friendly. The young woman was very helpful and gave advice on where to go and how we could get there. Would recommend this hotel with no problem.
Review 6:The building seems a little tired once you go inside.
Review 7:The staff is very nice and accommodating, you couldn't ask for more! Had a nice dinner and felt well taken care of.
Review 8:I have had no bad experiences here. I wish the restaurant was open on the weekends.
Review 9:I have stayed at Hotel Eden about 6-7 times in the past few years. It is small and comfortable. The staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. They have been very helpful with changes in my arrival and departure date. I feel very safe and we'll cared for as a single woman traveler. Also the views of Lake Geneva on the higher floors are lovely.
Review 10:Breakfast was very poor. The staff did not brief you properly on car park. I was fined, having deciding to leave one day earler faced objection by the staff
Review 11:The size of room was just enough... perhaps too small for the price, but this was compensated by the cleanless
Review 12:Staff are very engaged, helpful and friendly. I cannot say more, it was wonderful at the reception(Leslie!!!!!!!), and the resto!!!
Review 13:excellent hotel close to Nations. comfortable spacious rooms with nice view to the lake. clean and comfortable bathroom and bed. the breakfast is fantastic, i love the selection and the fresh vegetables and cheese. the wifi signal is strong and high-speed
Review 14:The sounds from other rooms are heard, there was no kettle in the room, if we want to use the iron we need to go to another room which was in another floor and it was dirty.
Review 15:Location was good, the staff is very friendly especially "Antonio", the free transportation card that they provided, the reception provided helpful information, everything was great.
Review 16:Hotel provided a travel card for the duration of the trip. Location was ideal as our children stayed with a family friend nearby. Close to bus stop, short walk to tram. Jardin Botanique just up from hotel and across the road from the Lake with a short walk to across lake boat service.
Review 17:Nothing to dislike.
Review 18:Entire staff provided great service, from the front desk to restaurant and housekeeping . Gave a welcome and acknowledgement email on booking, efficient service from check in to check out. Clean and good wifi signal
Review 19:- bed was not comfortable. - ironing is not allowed in the room. - Parking is expensive around 28 euro/ day
Review 20:- Location in front of very nice garden, around 15-20 min walk to main attraction areas, - Free high speed wifi. - fair breakfast, not too much variety. - free public transportation ticket is offered by hotel.
Review 21:Close to the lake and botanic gardens. The walk was beautiful along the lake into the city centre. The bus stop was right outside the hotel with two lines. Very easy.
Review 22:The location was perfect as I was able to walk to my meeting venue easily. It is also right opposite the lake, near to the Botanical Gardens and relatively walking distance from the city centre/main train station, Couravin. It's a slightly older hotel which I didn't expect. Probably should've paid more attention to photos. Also, I felt the breakfast options could have been wider... at least one hot option. Even for the paid options, the variety was necessarily huge. Mainly eggs. Nonetheless, the overall stay was pleasant. Staff were very polite and helpful and I was pleased with my stay.
Review 23:Shame the restaurant was closed on Sunday evening
Review 24:Handy location. I could walk to my meeting place. Reasonably quiet neighbourhood. Friendly staff. Good breakfast in pleasant dining room
Review 25:Nothing bad. Do not expect room service or a gym or pool. It is 3-star. Please remember that.
Review 26:I was there for business associated with a UN organization. The location was perfect. Three bus lines are nearby (within 50 yards), including Route 28 which can bring you in and take you back to the international airport at absolutely NO cost. Geneva offers travelers free passes for public transportation during the stay. The 'plat du jour' was fabulous, the recommended local wines were absolutely fantastic. Staff very friendly and English speaking if that is an issue for you. Very peaceful and away from city noise and activities, yet four bus stops away from part of the action!
Review 27:I liked the friendly and helpful staff. I liked the proximity to the shore of Lac Leman - only a very short stroll. I liked the lamb chops and apple pie served in the hotel restaurant. I loved the breakfast.
Review 28:Toilet doors in some rooms too light and half-transparent, not giving enough privacy
Review 29:Friendly staff, nice ambiente, clean rooms, good breakfast, close to UN institutions
Review 30:Could hear the noises from the other rooms.
Review 31:It is a classic hotel with elegant decoration. We stayed in a family room (two rooms interconnected, each with its own bathroom). Very comfortable indeed. We enjoyed the location too. Near UN organisations and airport, and also city center but still very quiet area, near the lake.
Review 32:Be more specific that there are two different parking areas and prices. On the street right outside the hotel is €20 for a full day and underground at end of the street is €28 per day
Review 33:The room setup as interconnected was perfect for families.
Review 34:The rooms would feel a bit small if we were staying for longer than a few days, though the little balcony helps add space in warmer weather.
Review 35:We booked a triple room for my husband, myself and our teenager, and found to our delight that it was actually two rooms with a shared small entry area. One had a double bed, one a single, and each had a bathroom. There are also family rooms with more twin beds in the second room. Perfect for families with older children, and reasonably priced. We loved the classic French elegance of the hotel, the beautiful rooms, and our 5th floor view of the lake. The location was convenient to both the airport and shopping/dining (with a little walk which is part of the experience of this beautiful city). The front desk was helpful, and the breakfast (included in the price) is a real benefit, especially to those heading to the airport. Wifi is faster than most. Overall an excellent hotel experience; we would definitely return.
Review 36:Breakfast a little basic
Review 37:Location 2 min from waterfront. Staff very accommadating- served our party of 5 lunch even though kitchen officially closed. Rooms clean and comfortable.
Review 38:Disappointing dinner - both my starter and main course tasted like they based on tinned soup - dessert, however, was lovely. Bathroom was quite possibly the smallest I have ever been in - I had to maneouver around the edge of the strangely-shaped sink to squeeze into the corner to sit on the toilet.
Review 39:Good service from the staff. Very peaceful quiet rooms - but that could because it's not a city-centre hotel. Great location for World Trade Organisation / Unicef offices.
Review 40:Room is not so large than previously anticipated.
Review 41:Clean room with a small bacony. Comfortable bed and quilt. Locality is good and easy to bus station for airport. Breakfast is very good, a lot of choice, including fresh fruit and nuts.
Review 42:This is a great hotel in a perfect location, right next to a fantastic park and just a short walk into the main part of town. I will definitely stay here again if I return to Geneva.
Review 43:Restaurent opening hours in weekends
Review 44:Very friendly & helpful staff. Close to free, public transportation. Very clean rooms. Newspapers in hall. Good variety in breakfast.
Review 45:It is a pity that the restaurant of the hotel is not open during week ends.
Review 46:Everything. The breakfast room (also a restaurant) is particularly nice. Great for both business and leisure.
Review 47:Poor sound isolation. Only a problem if you have loud neighbours (which I did on the first night). Fine otherwise. Night staff are not polite. As neighbours were loud in the next room on my first night, I asked the hotel clerk to notify them. However, he was not polite and I didn't hear the neighbours' phone ring even though he said he would call them to keep the noise down. Therefore, I had to go myself to ask them to quiet down - which they did. Also, it would be nice to have a door between the bedroom and the bathroom. It didn't bother me as a solo traveler, but it would have otherwise.
Review 48:Polite and helpful day and restaurant staff, good location, comfortable bed. Overall comfortable stay
Review 49:We were disappointed that the restaurant was closed. I realise that August is a holiday month for staff but it is also when visitors who want a meal are likely to come. Otherwise we found the hotel excellent
Review 50:The bed was uncomfortable and we had very inconsiderate guests staying in the next room - we had to call reception multiple times. We understand it's not the hotel'a fault they were noisy.
Review 51:What a treat it was to stay here recently. We were expecting a triple room, but we're upgraded to two interconnecting rooms to accommodate us and our son. Wifi connection excellent and free throughout the building (unlike the often patchy and expensive options offered in chain hotels). Comfortable beds, excellent bathrooms, breakfast plentiful. This hotel has everything a visitor to Geneva could want - so happy we stayed there. As for the comments others have made about thin walls and noisy traffic - we couldn't hear anything from the other rooms, and since the AC is so quiet and powerful, there really isn't a problem with just closing the window at night. If we ever stay in Geneva again, we'd certainly return here.
Review 52:Nothing
Review 53:Friendly Reception Helpful Staff Great information to help us enjoy city. Transportation passes Free Breakfast Excellent Wi Fi Clean Room
Review 54:Location close to the lake.
Review 55:Good location. Clean and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast.
Review 56:Calm area, with a green area and the lake nearby. Within easy walking distance to city, about 20 minutes, with parking adjacent the hotel.
Review 57:Breakfast was not very fresh or appealing. Credit Card reserve was deducted/reserved without consent.
Review 58:Room was clean and nicely presented
Review 59:Rooms are very noisy with the pipes, could not sleep at all.
Review 60:Very good service and location
Review 61:It's Geneva everything is expensive
Review 62:Breakfast
Review 63:Aquite and nice place and ahelpfull staff
Review 64:Hotel location is great! The park in front of the hotel is nice. It was a great experience we had a walk in the morning in the park a long the lake!
Review 65:Breakfast is very simple and narrow, they should work on it.
Review 66:Near my business meetings, that is why I booked here. Reception personal very kind.

Review 69:Parking
Review 70:Good Location and Quite area.
Review 71:rooms are a bit small
Review 72:location, breakfast
Review 73:The coffee shop is closed in day time and guests have to go out for a coffee.
Review 74:Air conditioned and clean rooms, good breakfast.
Review 75:No hot breakfast
Review 76:the rooms were lovely and staff were lovely the decor was also Lovely!
Review 77:service in resto too relaxed not in function of the guest.
Review 78:location: quiet easy commucation to city
Review 79:Rooms were a bit cramped -- just barely big enough.
Review 80:Upgrade from triple room to two connecting rooms! Helpful staff, bus pass, water pressure.
Review 81:Coffee was not hot enough at each breakfast.
Review 82:Location was excellent.
Review 83:Everything perfect!
Review 84:Poor breakfast. Smell of the room
Review 85:Clean opposite to a park with easy transportation to city center
Review 86:We booked a triple room but got 1 dbl + 1 sgl room with a connecting door, very nice for the teenager:)
Review 87:small room for the price paid
Review 88:location and wifi
Review 89:Bus stop very close. Good Internet. Large number of UK TV channels.
Review 90:Comfort, cleanliness, friendly service over breakfast, English newspapers
Review 91:Night table, bathroom tables too small. Would have liked food service saturday and sunday!
Review 92:expensive for what you get - but what hotel in Geneva isn't?
Review 93:staff were great
Review 94:Road noise
Review 95:Location and staff
Review 96:My balcony had a side view of the lake and was not facing the main road
Review 97:Prices for food were high but not out of line for Switzerland.
Review 98:Employees were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant had lovely food.
Review 99:Small rooms, slightly beyond easy reach of shops and restaurants.
Review 100:Staff, restaurant, atmosphere
Review 101:A little overpriced
Review 102:Conveniently located Fantastic breakfast included Free public transportation passes Helpful staff
Review 103:Some reception staff not friendly or helpful
Review 104:Breakfast and breakfast staff Catered for my feather allergy in a straightforward way
Review 105:Nothing but I would have preferred if they had a coffee or tea machine in the room. Other than that I really enjoyed the stay it is a very good hotel.
Review 106:In very good area, very close to the center and the Geneva lake maybe 10min to the center walking or less by bus, the bust station is just next the hotel, breakfast is included which is better than most other hotels in Geneva, stuff are very very friendly and so helpful, a free transport card offered by the hotel during all our station, very clean 3 stars hotel and newly restored and I advice all to visit it.
Review 107:The room was a bit small for 2 people. also no bath.
Review 108:the fact that the hotel was not in the centre. the good free bus service made up for that. Our room was very quiet.
Review 109:Nearby restaurants did not stay open late enough to get dinner on Saturday night. It was Holy Saturday, so it is probably not usually the case.
Review 110:Wonderful hotel. Close to park, lake, sights. Fantastic buffet breakfast. Would not hesitate to stay here again!! Family room with two adjoining rooms was perfect for our needs.
Review 111:The room was a good size and well fitted but the duvet was too small for the bed size would be ok for one person not two. The sliding etched glass door to the bathroom was a strange idea as this offers little soundproofing / privacy to the bedroom and did not lock so could be a little uncomfortable for those used to private time in the loo. A little pricey for 3 star.
Review 112:We requested parking for our car and got a private lockable garage which was great as we were carrying lots of valuable ski kit this was an extra cost but a very rare thing to find in Geneva at 3 Star level.Staff were very helpful and attentive. The hotel is well located for access to motorways leaving the city.
Review 113:I spent the whole evening working in my room. I found the room so very small that I was almost claustrophobic. I believe the price of CHF 170 per night is simply poor value for money.
Review 114:Unfortunately, we didn't have a duvet to fit the size of the bed. It was our fault though because we didn't complain at the time.
Review 115:We liked the friendliness of the reception and the helpfulness in getting our boarding cards booked in advance of our returning to the UK. The breakfast staff too were very attentive and supplied second coffee when it was requested. Also this was the first hotel where we didn't need to ask for more hangers.
Review 116:Bit noisy when we stayed - a couple of families with children crying until 10pm - not really the hotel's fault, and probably a risk anywhere with family rooms
Review 117:Family room, with one double and one triple linked through a hall/foyer and a single doorway onto the landing - gave us lots of space, kids went to bed early and no worries about security
Review 118:Location is great. It's near the lake and there's a park right near. The bus stop is right near the hotel and you can get to the downtown whish is appr 25 mintues walking.
Review 119:No coffee and tea facilities in the room
Review 120:I had a spectacular view over the park and lake. It was convenient to get to the UN (walking) and to and from the airport and city centre (free public transport)
Review 121:As the hotel is located on the corner of a main highway, rooms facing the lake are really noisy (from the traffic). I'll be sure to request a quiet room next time.
Review 122:Staff were nice and helpful, located close to bus stop and a bus interchange at Nations. Rooms were clean, comfortable and had a minibar.
The Fine Print
Please note that the restaurant is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
