Reviews for Hotel Don Luis

Review 1:The hotel is a very good location, even when we stayed just one night it was easy to aririve at night. The staff was very nice and helpful, we have to park the car a coulple of blocks away and they went with us to show us where.

Review 2:mal organizado y no nos hicieron el dormitorio durante todo el dia hasta que regresamos tipo 7 pm, y el estacionamiento está lejos del hotel a 3 cuadras

Review 3:We arrived very late due to a delay in our trip. At 8am, we were awaken by construction men outside our window. Obviously, no one cared we had only a few hours of sleep. Breakast card was left in the room, but it didnt mention it was at an additional cost if served in the room. Breakfast options weren't explained at check-in. We were charged 4,000 CLP per persona for a cold breakfast, where we had to call them back, as they forgot to bring cutlery and napkins. Not very impressed with the service, we were expecting something better due to the reviews read.

Review 4:Location is excellent

Review 5:After a week and half driving in North Patagonia and staying in small towns and bed and breakfast spots, it was a nice end to the trip to stay in this upscale hotel in Puerto Montt. We ate in the restaurant, which was good, enjoyed the bar and free wifi and our return to civilization.

Review 6:The main reason why we booked a room in this hotel was due to the hotel's profile on the website that said "private and free parking at the hotel, no booking needed." However, in our last night at Puerto Montt, we arrived in the evening, and the receptionist said that there was no places available at the parking…. and that we should park on the street! The worst thing was to hear from the receptionist that the streets around were "also premisses of the hotel". Very rude answer, and so wrong: the streets are public, and they didn't provide the service that they advertised! We were so disappointed with the staff behaviour - they didn't even try to solve the problem, and they were very rude to us. So, if you have a car and you need a parking space, you should forget this hotel. It isn't worth the price. We regret we spent our money on it.

Review 7:The hotel is way too expensive for the service that is provided. The room is ok, and mostly clean but the bathroom had a quite unpleasant smell (not sure if it was the water, or the room itself). The breakfast is just fine, they provided plenty of bread but no fresh fruits or fresh juice.

Review 8:Breakfast not as good as at other hotels. Alarm call requested on last day (had a plane to catch) was made to the wrong room, not to mine. Fortunately I woke up anyway, but it was a nasty moment.

Review 9:They had a slope by the front door which made it easy to wheel suitcases up into reception. Free drink a nice idea.

Review 10:The hotel was poor quality. The facilities were very dated and poor. For some reason I had been expecting it to be a nice hotel... a special place to stay after a period in little rural hotels.... As it turned out the little rural hotels were much better.

Review 11:The location was central to the CBD.

Review 12:The breakfast was good up until some ingredient was over - they just don't seem to refill anything. Even after asking specifically they just ignore you.

Review 13:Great stuff, spoke English and helped when needed.

Review 14:No kettle or electric jug in room. There was no bottled water in the room either. Shower was not hot.

Review 15:Good safe location in town, nice to have a free pisco sour in the bar.

Review 16:Great location, very friendly staff.

Review 17:The car park is AWFUL, incredibly narrow, steep, you may damage your car using it....

Review 18:The location is perfect to wander around without using a car

Review 19:Parking was 3 blocks away

Review 20:Good restaurant, good but dated facility.

Review 34:tv in dining room and bar/snack areas

Review 35:everything

Review 36:we only stayed one night. we needed to buy some gear for our hike in torres del Paines and there was a mall close by. there are also several decent restaurants close by for dinner.

Review 37:old decorations, very very small bathroom - not for tall or big people. loud noise from the street (although a back street) - many kids yelling.

Review 38:stayed only one night , nice staff. nice breakfast. fun to get the complimentary pisco sour.

Review 39:I am surprised this hotel has had such good reviews. That is why we booked it!! Bathroom was shocking - no bathmat, one hand towel, hand rail and soap dish over bath both hanging off. Tap loose and the design of tap hung over sink so far my husband could not rinse his face after shaving. Only liquid soap dispensers provided, nothing else (eg shower cap, shoe shine etc). What do they think ladies wash and condition their hair with? Bar staff surly and pisco sour poured out of a premix bottle without attempt to even shake it up. Breakfast buffet poor and waiters hanging around doing nothing, with lots of dirty tables waiting to be cleared. Won't be going here again.

Review 40:Decor in corridors etc quite nice. Receptionist very helpful.

Review 41:A tired looking city-centre hotel in need of a makeover.

Review 42:Staff very helpful and spoke good English. Nice touch to have complimentary drink. Secure underground car park for hire car (prebook required) was a relief in a busy city. Good wi-fi speed compared to all our other Chile hotels and also available in-room.

Review 43:location

Review 44:Open air bar - some flies around! Bit old-fashioned

Review 45:Friendly staff, free drink, organised onward taxi, clean comfortable room

Review 46:It is time for a refresh of your rooms, very dated.

Review 47:Great staff greeted us right away.

Review 48:Very good location, the staff was always willing to help
