Reviews for Hotel Privata
Review 1:Nothing not to like!
Review 2:Everything was great - friendly helpful staff, lovely roomy Swiss style room, good functional bathroom and all so perfectly clean. If you take the half board it is very good value and the food was great.
Review 3:We loved everything about this hotel. The staff was helpful and nice. The dinner and breakfast excellent. The room was lovely and the location prime. Price included rail/bus/tram pass which was an unxexpected plus.
Review 4:Only negative point is that for me, the bed was too firm. Perhaps another room would be better next time.
Review 5:Rooms had been nicely renovated and looked as good as website photos. Delicious evening meal, seasonal menu. Helpful staff. Beautiful garden to relax in for afternoon tea after busy day walking or for pre-dinner drink
Review 6:The texture of the bed is not fine, cannot sleep every well.
Review 7:The room is pretty and clean. The sofa is comfortable. The pretty living room is available for relax and chatting. It was quite cool on the day we lived there, however we feel comfortable inside the hotel.
Review 8:All of the staff members and the owner are extremely friendly and give excellent customer service. We went for the half board option and the 4 course set menu was more than value for money. The room was comfortable and very clean. The village is small so everything is within walking distance. We have already booked our next stay.
Review 9:Personally, not a thing. There are no elevators, so if you have mobility issues you should request a room on the first floor, but that wasn't a problem for us (we were on the second, and even then they carried our luggage up for us!).
Review 10:Hotel Privata was amazing in every way. My husband travels a lot for business so it's hard for hotels to impress him, but this one impressed us both! I believe it's family owned and run - it sure felt like it was. So many individual, homey touches that you wouldn't find at a chain. Hand-carved pine everywhere, in both the guest rooms and common rooms. In our room when we arrived was a bar of "welcome chocolate" - I think it was the most delicious we had in Switzerland! We were also served a welcome drink (made with homemade elderflower syrup) in the charming garden by the manager (owner?) who seemed to always be around somewhere! All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel was completely booked while we were there, but the waiters and desk staff still knew who we were! Also, the dinners were amazing - they offer a half-board option which was an incredible deal for the food you got (four courses of a set menu). We were there five nights and never ate anywhere else, which is a rarity for us as we like to explore, but the food could not be beat (you didn't have to commit to half-board upon booking - you just needed to let them know by 5pm each day if you'd be having dinner, served at 7pm). I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture by now - if you have the chance to stay here, do it. Everything was wonderful!
Review 11:No complaints at all.
Review 12:We liked the fact that the hotel is located in a small village within a short walk of a Post Bus stop, a grocery store, a lake, several hiking trails and a gondola. Our room and ensuite were well-appointed and bright. We had a small balcony where we could enjoy the sight and sound of the nearby river. We also enjoyed sitting in the beautiful garden in the afternoon after a hike. A peaceful place to relax, read and enjoy a drink before dinner. The food - breakfast and dinner - were also wonderful. We ate all of our meals (except lunches) at the hotel although there were several other options nearby. The first dinner was so delicious and such good value that we didn't feel the need to look elsewhere. In fact, we looked forward to checking out the posted dinner menu each morning. Finally, the staff were exceedingly helpful and the service was excellent while not being intrusive.
Review 13:Great location (central but very quiet!), run by people who really understand the hospitality business. Recommended.
Review 14:Engadine hospitality at it's best! Excellent dinner and service!
Review 15:The best correlation "money - value" we ever had Thepersonal Meal
Review 16:Lovely hotel with excellent breakfast and dinner menus. Nice group feel: less like a hotel and more like a family with dinner at 7pm. Liked the fact that there were no TVs in the room, or mini-bars. Nice to get away from the formality of normal hotel systems.
Review 17:Nothing really. If I have to come up with something: - The hotel has 5 floors, with very steep stairs, and no elevator (at least I did not see one). And for my good young legs and arms this is no real problem, but it could be that for someone with not so young legs and arms. The center of the village of Sils Maria, although very peaceful, seems in its entirely to consist of establishments dedicated to tourism.
Review 18:The village of Sils Maria is small and peaceful in a lovely alpine valley, a little distance away from the main road. The main noise in the evening and at night is from the rapids of a steep little alpine stream running through the village. The staff and owners were very helpful and friendly and took time for the little small talk to make you feel welcome, that is so important for the single traveller. The room that was nice and fresh and rather large, with a little balcony, and an easy chair for relaxing and reading. The two sitting rooms and the garden, and the bookshelves, (although actually I did not take time to use them) The general relaxing feeling of the hotel.
Review 19:A delightful hotel with efficient, friendly staff. We had a charming and comfortable room and it was nice not to have a TV, though we could have had one for a small charge if we'd wanted it. Lovely breakfast with butter, yogurts, jams etc provided in big containers, not in those usual horrid little plastic ones. The delicious evening meals were excellent value for hotel residents at less than half the normal price. A card was provided for free local transport including cable cars - we even had a free bus trip into Italy!
Review 20:Excellent value - especially their half board package (healthy, yummy food, generous portions), very efficient, helpful and friendly service, elegant and comortable, tastefully furnished (like home away from home). September - great value (if you stay more than 2 days) with free lift passes and free public tansport in the region. Beautiful area - the Engadine, great hiking at your door step!
Review 21:the courtesy of the owner - very generous
Review 22:The family and friendly atmosphere. The good food even if the choice iimited. Quiet inside a small village.
Review 23:Very friendly staff, excellent food, spacious and comfortable rooms.
Review 24:Did not like leaving so soon.
Review 25:The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good position for outdoor activities. Great room very spacious.
