Reviews for The Forest Garden Hotel

Review 1:Not easy to find the hotel ! One more sign on the right road to take will be quite useful ! Especially at night !

Review 2:Location is very nice. You can access the pedestrian tracks very easily and enjoy walking in the surrounding areas.

Review 3:For sure its not a 4 star hotel, its more of a b&b or hostel, the reception desk is open only till 8 pm, after that the lights are off everywhere, its good to carrry a flash light with you then. Food in the restaurant is of very poor quality, the cook prepares meals holding a cigarrete in his mouth (!), breakfasts are really simple

Review 4:The hotel is situated in a nice queit area in the mountains

Review 5:very bad price performance (max 3 stars, not 4 stars at all), last dinner order at 7:45pm, no reception over night, no shower just bath, very thin walls (you can listen to other room talk), no hotel & garden maintenance for couple of years, very noisy air-conditioning (in fact we cannot use it), very old TV with few stations, no wi-fi except at reception/restaurant, terrible breakfast (rotten apple, dry bread, terrible coffee, no juice just sirup with water !!!!), very cheap toilet paper :-( - simply the web site outperform reality by far - that I really don't like

Review 6:room interior, hotel location near to Edmund and Wild Passes

Review 7:There is a definite poor attitude in some of the staff and it starts with the guy who runs the restaurant. For a place that calls itself by an English name and with an English website, we were treated like lepers when we asked for help in English. As for trying to get an English explanation of the menu, forget it.

Review 8:Room itself was good

Review 9:There are some quirks about how the hotel is run which you have to adjust to. Like you can't access the internet except in the main entry which is closed at night and until after 8am. Breakfast is unavailable before 8:30am.

Review 10:The view and location were terrific.

Review 11:They are strict with timetables and you really get nothing to eat from 8 pm. Wifi doesn´t get to the room. They don´t clean the room or refill amenities, if you don´t ask to.

Review 12:The hotel is beautiful and perfect located in the middle of the nature. You can go walking to the Gorges and to the Pravčická Brána. The rooms are confortable, clean and nice. Breakfast good and the staff really friendly.

Review 13:We were there in February, room was cold with a bit warm hot water in the shower. We were said that they cannot do anything "you have the same conditions as others". This is definitely not what we expect, considering traveling with a 1.5 year child.

Review 14:It could be a good hotel overall, but see drawbacks.

Review 15:Very poor breakfast, all restaurants work only until 9pm. You should make an appointment in the morning if you would go to the sauna. In addition I want to say that there's unfriendly unhappy stuff who doesn't even speak English

Review 16:location...maybe

Review 17:Wifi was weak

Review 18:Nice quiet hotel in quiet village. Neat rooms. We had a great stay. Note that location is in smaller village off main beat so little remote but beautiful area!

Review 19:In house restaurant disappointing, lacking atmosphere. No kettle/coffee/tea in room.

Review 20:Location superb for excellent walks and nearby restaurants. Superb breakfasts.

Review 21:Check out at 10:00. Small damages are not repaired. Weak wifi signal in the third floor.

Review 22:Quiet location, direct connection to hiking tracks. New building.

Review 23:There was no wifi but it was okay, we weren't there to use the internet.

Review 24:Good location, friendly staff, clean and cosy rooms. Near to the bus stop. Good starting point for hiking to Pravcicka brana and for going to the river Kamenice.

Review 25:Staff minimal English. What would be helpful in restaurant a picture to see with menu items so if you can't understand what you are reading you could see it

Review 26:Location

Review 27:Nothing I think... except a big hornet that flew into our room in the late evening :) But I think he was lost, there was no nest close to the room :)

Review 28:Silence, beautiful views and close to the nature are the highest advantages of the place. And the hotel was great! Nice, clean with good and not expensive kitchen. Close to the mountain routes and other otractions of the region.

Review 29:We sometimes felt like we were a bit of an inconvenience. Orders for meals stopped at 19.45 hours. After 21.00 hours, everywhere was locked off, and there was nowhere to get a drink or even sit comfortably with our friends to talk. We ended up sitting in a small corner at the foot of the stairs by the exit.

Review 30:The hotel was set in a beautiful, peaceful location. Our rooms were all suites and were massive, with balconies overlooking the forests and mountains (be aware there is no lift, if you have difficulty with stairs!) The views were amazing and it was so quiet. The staff were accommodating and helpful. Breakfast was good and plentiful.

Review 31:Wi-fi internet doesn´t get to every room, mainly only on the reception and nearby areas. There isn´t a restaurant menu in english.

Review 32:English speaking staff, great location, very good breakfast, the hotel restaurant was pretty good and cheap prices.

Review 33:- poor breakfast- pastry old and almost like a rock - bad location where is no shop and only three poor restaurants - although rooms were clean there were some deficiencies- edges in the bathroom were bit moldy - hotel restaurant is open only from 5 to 8pm and the bar is open till 9pm - the room was old and without air conditioning- we were under the roof and it was very hot there - it definitely does not deserve 4*

Review 34:- staff - it is quiet here

Review 35:Poor customer experience

Review 36:Nice location

Review 37:no WiFi in the rooms no highchair for baby in the restaurant kitchen close at 19:45!!

Review 38:location spacious rooms

Review 39:staff didn't speak any english, wifi wasn't included, lots of wasps and bugs

Review 40:good location, nice breakfast, really peaceful area

Review 41:The staff were particularly helpful.

Review 42:Lack of English on menus!

Review 43:Location - surrounded by lovely countryside with range of walks from the hotel Simple but comfortable and clean.

Review 44:Wifi didn't work

Review 45:- Excellent room - No elevator

Review 46:No wi-fi,tv

Review 47:Service

Review 48:weak internet signal lack of fridge, kettle, tea table, lift, hotel with 4 stars should have better breakfast

Review 49:localisation, silence, good service

Review 50:We stayed on 3rd floor and the water pressure was so weak that we can't use the shower at all.

Review 51:The rooms are very clean and neat.

Review 52:Bad WiFi perception

Review 53:Awesome location, nice and rich breakfasts, clean rooms, nature

Review 54:Excellent location for hiking, great well priced meals and very friendly, helpful, hardworking staff. I plan to return.

Review 55:Nice location, close to tourist attractions (routes). Nice and friendly staff, good service. Breakfast will satisfy all tastes. A perfect place to relax after a 25 km walk!. We honestly recommend The Forest Garden Hotel.

Review 56:The hotel is new but already a bit run down. Breakfast was very bad. It would be a great idea to provide less variety for breakfast, but make it all high quality, for example by using local produce. Some real juice is a must in a breakfast buffet (not some squash mix). Also breakfast should be served in the restaurant and not in this small dark room where it was served. Regarding food at the evening it was not that good, it seemed like it was simply defrosted and fried. How about cutting down on positions in your menu and serving some fresh food, cooked on the premises?

Review 57:Very nice people working in the hotel, very helpful.

Review 58:White wals became damaged an look a bit ugly in the room Wooden floor also looks shabby now Non working lamp above mirror No warm floor No balcony Ones no hot watter other time, other time no wi fi

Review 59:Bathroom is nice Breakfast was good

Review 60:When I went to shower I couldn't really relax because otherwise everything would sink in water. If you come for the breakfast closer to the end there is nothing left. There was only a couple of people who barely spoke English and it was difficult to communicate.

Review 61:The location for people who want to make a hike to Pravčicka Brana is perfect.

Review 62:1. unfrendly and unprofeshional personal . 2. No room service I stay for two night . 3. No minibar , old tv , no light outside hotel and its very probably to park car without light . 4. Brekfast - no eggs , no vegetabels ,bad coffe and anyone from personal in the dining room .

Review 63:Best location for the mountain traveling

Review 66:The furniture was pretty basic and functional. The TV (which was not required for us) was really small and rather old. Also, not many channels were being offered. The fan in the bathroom brought in some smelly air rather than fresh one. Even though the hotel was rather empty during our visit, it should be more than one guy working both the breakfast buffet and the reception at the same time.

Review 67:The receptionist was really nice and welcoming. The breakfast was actually pretty good. I was expecting a lot less due to some bad reviews. Also, the room was rather clean.

Review 68:We had trouble finding the hotel in the dark as no outside lights were on. The room had a few spider webs and a strange smell from the shower drain. The outside area was unkempt.

Review 69:Location was perfect for exploring National Park, you can just walk out the door of the Forest Garden and be on a trail in 2 minutes. Relatively new hotel with modern facilities.

Review 70:No English at all. No lighting at all outside, so you park your car and have to find your way in the dark. Not even a lamp on the building.

Review 71:The location

Review 72:The Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean. Breakfast was superb. Dinner menu was fabulous. Compliments to the Young Couple running the place. We enjoyed our stay very much, thank you.

Review 73:Staff was very friendly there, the design of the hotel was just great. Really enjoy to stay there, very nice and quite location. And good kitchen in the hotel for very good price.

Review 74:Location is in a small village with poor signage showing direction of hotel. It was difficult to get to from Decin and buses only run every 2 hours (in/out). The area seems just opening to international visitors, so if you don't speak Czech or German, it is difficult to get information here. The hotel staff was inadequately trained for the service/hospitality job that they're in and they performed their duties neither efficiently nor with "heart". The windows in the room we stayed in, didn't have shades to block out the sun. The room didn't have airconditioning or a fan, and since we could not leave windows opened at night because of mosquitoes, it became very hot.

Review 75:The hotel was brand new.

Review 76:Nothing bad about the hotel, but the location of the hotel itself is a limiting factor as it was isolated and does not have good transport for those who do not have own cars.

Review 77:Good one

Review 78:The hotel does not meke the beds or does anything to the room during our 3 nights stay. The first night we could not eat at the hotel there was no kitchen staff. There was nowhere a menu posted so we never had dinner at the hotel. The staff is basic. The hotel is reasonable expensive for the Czech Republic but does not offer anything for it than a new building. It had no ambiance, the pension a few meters away in Mezna had more charme and friendly staff at half price of Forest Garden!

Review 79:Hotel is nicely located and is fairly recently build.

Review 80:Very bare walls and they could certainly do with another comfortable chair and coffee table (there is plenty of room for it). The bath had a shower fitting at the height of the bath taps. You had to hold it to stand and get wet. (A bit odd)

Review 81:The location was excellent in the town of Mezna. The staff were very helpful although they did not have much English (& we had basically no Czech or German). Good food at the restaurant.

Review 82:I do not recomend this hotel because I was forced by personel to pay 70 EUR more do to the fact we travel with 2 kids (9, 12 years) . No extra bed was delivered to the apartment. KEEP OUT from this place.

Review 83:The hotel was OK. "Ibis standard"

Review 84:Hotel is nicely located in the centre of Mezna in a quiet corner. It sits on a big property with a little pond and a lot of space for kids to play. There is a terrasse and lounging chairs in the garden. The rooms are spacious, have a balcony and offer free wifi, coffee maker and complementary water. Bathrooms are modern. The owner is very friendly and takes care of everything. The hotels does not offer warm meals but has a nice breakfast buffet and a cosy bar.

Review 85:Hotel staff, all Mezna people and restaurants staff don't speak English

Review 86:Very nice village of Mezna, beautiful location, near the bus stop, 2 bus stops away from Pravčická Brána, very nice spot with a great view, clean, big rooms

Review 87:Personal of the hotel is a bit lazy and to easy-going. Didn't get the promised sparkling wine.

Review 88:A good location to discover the different sites of the National park, nice breakfast and free parking at the hotel. We took the possibility to have a BBQ in the garden of the hotel and we can really recommend it.

Review 89:One difficulty - personal cannot speak English and Russian. But they areclever and you can explain them what you want. And they didn't know whatis interested around. You have to understand it yourself. Look at themap that is in hotel where is drawn routs from http://www.cztour.cz/. Norent bicycle. Bankomat is only in Dechin. Every where you have to useonly cash. But you can use Euro.

Review 90:You can have a rest there without wishes to go for a walk out of hotel. The bast location - out of roads and noise. Really in the forest. Thebest comfort - even in details. Careful but not troublesome personal.Pond with red and black fishes and comfortable chaise longue. You canseat and look after fishes and other animals and have a good relax afternoise town-life. There is a kettle and tea in the room and iron in thehotel. Water, froots, iron, etc are free. There is good sauna, jacuzzi, grill. For me all were that I want for comfortable rest.

Review 91:Excellent location right in the middle of the national park. Close to the gorge and the natural bridge hiking baths. Greeted us with sparkling wine. Very clean, comfortable room. One of the evenings they did a bbq outside, with chicken, pork, and sausage on offer. Best breakfast spread we've had on this trip.

Review 92:No lift & our room was on floor 3 in our room , at the coridor was alight that turn on and off on every movement even if you on badsleeping, when you move, you see the light & it made a"klic" it was veryuncomfortable no restaurant in the hotel

Review 93:The stuff very helpfull, friendly & nice excekent breakfast

Review 94:The location was very far from information centre

Review 95:The rooms were clean

Review 96:There is no lift (elevator) and we were in third floor.

Review 97:The staff, very nice and helfull people! The location

Review 98:Room was comfortable. Nothing was bad. I recommend nature lover this hotel.

Review 99:Extremely friendly staff Perfect location Excellent Price/Quality ratio

Review 100:Wi-fi didn't work

Review 101:the location is great, room is enough, but bath room is small

Review 102:Nothing.:)

Review 103:Nice,clean room, quiet place. Far from Traffic, and Tourist places. Perfect place for rest, and hiking. Free wifi.

Review 104:Staff not very friendly

Review 105:Interior decoration and breakfast

Review 106:Rooms were kept simple which created a rather cold atmosphere. The towels smelled like smoke and the beds weren't made (we stayed 3nights)

Review 107:No restaurant in the hotel. No minibar or fridge in the room.

Review 108:Good location. Quiet place. Large and clean rooms.

Review 109:Rather poor breakfast - ham, cheese, sausages quality is low. Slow Internet connection.

Review 110:WiFi available on rooms.

Review 111:Balcony with a lot of rubbish.

Review 112:Location.

Review 113:Beautiful rooms and very quiet and peaceful, unlike some of the charming but noisy Czech pensiones in the area. Stunning views from the balconies.

Review 114:Very well located for walking trips. Warm welcome and excellent breakfast
