Reviews for The Harbour House

Review 1:Did not have a bad experience, but the front desk was not always manned and even when you rang the buzzer, there was no guarantee anyone would show up. Felt more like just another customer rather than a paying guest.

Review 2:Location was great for walking in Charlottetown. Very comfortable, old world Inn.

Review 3:Awesome staff, very helpful and friendly. Also its a beautiful house, 5 to 10 minutes of walking distance from the main street, the restaurants and the marina. I loved it!

Review 4:Needs a table to sit at and / or comfy chair. Breakfast was very disappointing, omelet was dry and just little pre-packageds of jam. A place of this quality and price needs dishes of fresh preserves! Lots of local markets around, no need to resort to Kraft. The living room had been turned into a confetens room so no place to relax or chat than your bedroom.

Review 5:Beautiful quiet room, excellent bed.

Review 6:Wished our room with twin beds was bit larger --especially the bathroom--no counter space. Excellent exhaust fan though and good towels!

Review 7:Hotel was well placed downtown with easy access to many attractions. Good A/C in room. Staff was very knowledgeable re area and gave great directions to visit green gables shore. Very tasty breakfast--bright dining area!

Review 8:If I had to find one thing wrong with our visit, it would be the parking. It can be a little tight for an oversized vehicle late at night. Although, lots of stalls are provided for all the guests. Some just roomier than others.

Review 9:Everything from the service and introduction to the place, right down to the breakfast the next morning. Wonderful!

Review 10:Not really a bad experience but the room could use a better brand of coffee for the coffeemaker.

Review 11:Overall the staff and ambiance of the hotel were wonderful and the hotel was very close to the town center

Review 12:3 flights of stairs if you have heavy luggage. Wifi practically nonexistent.

Review 13:Helpful, efficient and friendly staff. Comfortable 'artsy' feel. Convenience of shops, etc nearby.

Review 14:Warm and welcoming staff. Rooms were equipped with everything you need. Free long distance calling a bonus! Situated in a perfect location - just a short walk to everything downtown.

Review 15:Rooms were very small. Pricey.

Review 16:Clean rooms. Convenient location to Charlottetown Harbour and restaurants/shops. Very good breakfast with wonderful service. Friendly staff.

Review 17:Cleaning staff continually moved toiletries to different places in restroom even threw out a container of hairspray. Breakfast portions could have been a little bigger with more variety.

Review 18:Great location in downtown Charlettetown. Close to many great restaurants, the harbour and Victoria Park. Harbour House provided fruit salad to start the day, yum!

Review 19:Bathroom upgrades would add a nice touch to the experience.

Review 20:Excellent location. Very quiet neighbourhood for a peaceful sleep. Extremely welcoming staff upon arrival. Room was ready for an early check-in.

Review 21:The bathroom is tiny, which may be a problem for some people but adequate for us.

Review 22:Beautiful building and facilities.Very friendly and efficient staff. Great menu for breakfast with excellent service.

Review 23:Very friendly staff, beautiful room, beautiful house, would stay here again. We only stayed one night as they were fully booked for staying a 2nd night.

Review 24:nothing bad to report except

Review 25:Staff very helpful, always felt welcome when at the Inn. Great parking, very close to downtown. and surrounding attractions

Review 26:Not one negative comment. Didn't see one other place I wished I had stayed in.

Review 27:Perfect location on outskirts of the center of the town, which made each walk enjoyable because there were multiple routes to take, creating a walking tour of Charlottetown with each outing. Staff was warm, responsive and engaging. The B&B / boutique hotel was just wonderful. Comfortable, breakfast delicious and our room spacious.

Review 28:Too big place for my taste and too much noise because of kids banging and playing in the room.and bad insulation in the walls, would not return to a place like this by preference, because we don't like kids, too noisy.

Review 29:Nice room, comfortable and clean

Review 30:nothing in particular

Review 31:a really modern b&b in an old house (renewed) in the historic district. got good advice from staff about things to do and places to eat. the fact that it is in a wonderful city just adds to the experience.

Review 32:All staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The hotel was in an excellent position for walking to nearby restaurants and also had plenty of off street parking.

Review 33:Such a beautiful B&B! We arrived pretty late as we were driving from Ontario to PEI, and the staff member on site was so understanding and helpful. We had a wonderful stay.

Review 34:Can't think of a single thing! If I were to be real picky, I'd say they need an exhaust fan in the bathroom and a mat in the bathtub.

Review 35:This beautiful home has everything you could ask for! Great location, comfortable and clean rooms, excellent breakfasts and outstanding staff.

Review 36:Lots of places to sit and meet our fellow travelers. Very convenient to downtown restaurants and attractions. Comfortable accommodations with modern touches.

Review 37:There were no negatives about Harbour House.

Review 38:We were able to walk to shops, restaurants, and the theatre with ease. It is centrally located and the atmosphere is welcoming and accommodating. My daughter and I loved it!

Review 39:Was in Yellow room, with a tiny bathroom (shower only), continually hitting my head and elbows. Smallest shower cubicle ever seen. No lift, but will help with luggage. Breakfast options very health conscious.

Review 40:Had a kettle for a decent cuppa, very friendly and helpful staff, good laundry facility (had been river rafting, and was able to wash silt from my clothes)

Review 41:Nothing

Review 42:Our room was a good size with all the day to day needs, spotlessly clean, quiet with pleasant outlook. The free car parking and the breakfasts were spot on. Best of all were the excellen staff.

Review 43:The Internet connection was pretty bad.

Review 44:The staff was incredible! They saw me wobling around because of my sprained ankle and upgraded me to a floor level room at no extra charge. The breakfast was also incredible! Dairy and gluten friendly :D I had their chickpea pancakes and I was pleasantly surprised. Absolutely delicious :D

Review 45:Everything just worked out so well. Nice restaurants and a great beer pub are in easy walking distance. The staff are warm and friendly and the breakfasts are delicious. All good

Review 46:Coffee was good - however not very hot occasionally, perhaps improve the coffee machine: A single-cup coffee brewing machine with a few individual flavors would be very nice in the morning.

Review 47:I had a wonderful room with kitchenette, desk and very comfortable bed. Breakfast choices of cereals, muffins and a choice of different scrambled eggs or pancake every day.

Review 48:First night was a basement room which was beautiful but dark. The second floor is the best floor.

Review 49:The location was perfect. I could walk anywhere and I have limited walking. Staff we're accommodating. Outside balcony conducive for a wine gathering. The bedding was outstanding. The feel of the sheets ,a 10 .

Review 50:Our glasses and bathmat were taken during cleaning and not returned. We didn't realize it until we were in our pajamas, so couldn't remedy the problem.

Review 51:Food was excellent. Room was clean and nicely decorated. Close to everything. Really enjoyed our time there

Review 52:Whiny Fridge at night Satellite reception was unwatchable on several channels and very poor on the others Waste of HD LCD Flat Screen TV but we were not there to watch TV

Review 53:EVERYTHING EXCEPT.....see next

Review 54:Very clean room, friendly and accommodating staff, complete kitchen facilities and the location is great, close to everything. Would recommend this to friends and family.

Review 55:My room in the basement for the first night, although newly renovated, was a bit dark. I like bright and cheery. I am being fussy with that comment.

Review 56:Stayed 2 nights not consecutive. Front desk excellent: accommodating, friendly, dependable. Breakfast very good and catered to a choice issue. Room on the second floor was bright and cheery. This B&B has great linen, the sheets are amazing. They told us where to purchase them but said it was the care they were given daily and I believe that. In the past I have stayed elsewhere in Charlottetown but the Heritage Harbour House is now my go to place.

Review 57:Dont get up at breakfast the super efficient staff will clear your place before you get back. The yellow room is very small and looks over a common balcony.

Review 58:Very very clean. Central location near lovely park and the waterfront. Very comfortable beds and crisp duvet covers. Laundry facilities. Very helpful desk staff. Micheal the proprietor recommended some excellent restaurants. One of the best run tourist accommodations i have been in and i travel all over the world. Decent breakfast included.

Review 59:Our bedroom was very tiny and overlooked a common balcony so we had to keep the curtain shut. The bathroom was smaller than in our motor home. Breakfast was nothing special.

Review 60:Central location. Comfortable beds. Clean. Nice staff. This is a large place with 25 rooms an old property converted into an inn. Breakfast was included. Many rooms have balconys. Free parking. Windows open. Complementary coffee .tea in common area.

Review 61:Nothing major

Review 62:On quiet street Nice, comfy room with thatched ceilings Great breakfast! Good value overall Central location - easy walk to downtown core

Review 63:It should be clearer stated, that Economy rooms are in the basement and that the window is very small and the room dark.

Review 64:Good location in walking distance to city center. Good breakfast.

Review 65:Breakfast was disappointing and the servers were not friendly. We stayed at a fabulous heritage home in Sydney where breakfast was exceptionally good with fresh scones and muffins as well as nice fruit.

Review 66:The rooms, the tour and the comforts for visitors.

Review 67:The young girl that checked us in kinda rush us through the place without showing us everything. Would like to see an ironing board and iron in the rooms instead of going to the small laundry room in the basement to iron. The bed was pretty hard for our liking and some tv channels were fuzzy

Review 68:The location was a short 5 min walk to the shops and restaurants. It was nice to have a nice bar fridge that was cold and with a decent size freezer. The microwave and two burner cook top comes in handy. Everything was clean

Review 69:Can't think of anything!

Review 70:This is more like a Guest House than a hotel but this is what makes it special. Lovely feel to the place with everything thought out carefully about what you may need during your stay.

Review 71:Incredibly spacious room (and I think I had the smallest room in the buulsing!) great bed, fast wifi, probably the best service from the guy at the desk (he helped us with our travel plans, and had great dinner recommendations!) I read an earlier negative review about the architechture, that author must be nuts, as the building was amazing, there is no way you could compare this to a dorm.)

Review 72:Almost nothing. Only minor things are:1) our room was in a basement but had a natural light and a kitchenette and 2) at breakfast table w I was asked to remove my bag as the breakfast seats were rather limited so three groups needed to sit in one table.

Review 73:Location, property, room, comfort, staff, breakfast (warm egg and sausage plus fruits plus many others). I was truly impressed,

Review 74:While the breakfast provided a great variety of food choices as well as the benefits of ordering a freshly served hot breakfast meal - the time restriction for the breakfast (8-9:30) makes for a rushed meal when the Inn is full as it was this past weekend. The dining room was crowded and we observed people waiting for tables so we finished as quickly as we could so that others could have our spot. A breakfast this tasty deserves to be enjoyed with leisure. We felt that had there been a larger time frame for the breakfast service, guests would not all have to arrive during the same period of time and hope for seating.

Review 75:This was our second stay at the Heritage Harbour House Inn. We are very impressed with the comfort, cleanliness, location and overall atmosphere of the inn. The Inn encompasses the coziness of a B&B with the privacy and amenities of a hotel. The décor is second to none, giving the feeling of a home away from home while giving you the luxuries of a high priced hotel. And all within walking distance of the Confederation Center and other main attractions within Charolettetown.

Review 76:Breakfast options could have been improved with selection of fresh fruits and better quality breads and pastries.

Review 77:Convenient location, room size, cleanliness, takeaway breakfast for early departure.

Review 78:More like staying in a dorm, low charm factor, kitchenette units, add on architecture spoiling the essence of an old charming home... Just an Okay to fair rating for us. Would not return to this property, many better choices close by. Sorry, sad but true!

Review 79:Location

Review 80:We had some young gymnasts doing flips off the bed in the room above us the 1st night we were there.

Review 81:Accommodations were very neat and the staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Review 82:Everything about Heritage House was perfect. It is within easy walking distance to Charlottetown restaurants, shops, cafes, and historical sites. My room was well appointed and the bed was so comfortable, I slept well. The breakfast was scrumptious and staff were friendly. Perfect!

Review 83:The hot breakfast one day was inedible. The next morning we just had cereal and fruit to be on the safe side. It must have been a one time thing because everyone else seemed happy with the breakfasts.

Review 84:Perfect location! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Great recommendations for restaurants and activities.

Review 85:Very small room- Queen standard Tiny shower Three flights of stairs Breakfast was not good- stale muffins, biscuits and cinnamon rolls daily. Entrees were not great either

Review 86:Location is excellent Very clean

Review 87:My husband and I loved our stay at Heritage Harbour. They have a great understanding of how the little things matter almost as much as the big things. My best hotel experience to date.

Review 88:The view from our room was of the neighbouring parking lot, not very inspiring. But we didn't spend much time in our room looking out the window!

Review 89:We spent two nights at the Inn and had a wonderful. The staff is very friendly, the breakfasts were delicious, the rooms comfortable and the bathroom was quite possibly the cleanest bathroom I have ever seen in a hotel.

Review 90:My accommodation was in the basement and it was dark. I also couldn't get the air conditioner to work so turned it off.

Review 91:Being so close to all the tourist spots

Review 92:Everything. Very friendly and helpful staff. Beds very comfortable. Everything was clean. Great location to dining, wharf and scenic park. Would recommend.

Review 93:Room smelt damp, but not overly offensive.

Review 94:Tea and coffee facilities were great. Laundry was on site. Ample parking. Brilliant and overly helpful staff. Very contentious owner who helped out early in the morning when a taxi failed to turn up for my airport trip. He sent an email the next day to ensure I was ok. Brilliant.

Review 95:A little bit noisy with so many guests. we could hear the people above us. However, not a real issue as everything else was wonderful.

Review 96:Location and staff.

Review 97:Shower pressure was unpleasantly weak during peak hours in the morning (but was great at other times)

Review 98:Staff were extremely accommodating and thoughtful (e.g., guest umbrellas for use, took care of our bags when we changed rooms, returned a USB cable we forgot in our room during check-out), our 2-queen bedroom was spacious and clean with comfy beds, toiletries were provided, as well as a great breakfast service in a charming, sunny room. Also, the B&B is ideally located on a quiet street just a 5-10 minute walk from major downtown landmarks and the waterfront.

Review 99:This establishment is a B&B. The food provided for breakfast is very minimal quantity and selection. We asked in advance for a gluten free food and on our first day no gluten free food was available. If you stay here eat breakfast somewhere else, it has to be better than what they offer. Other staying guests passed similar comments regarding breakfast.

Review 100:Rooms were clean, quite modern and spacious. Adequate parking provided.

Review 101:lovely hotel and location

Review 102:avoid basement room

Review 103:clean, tidy, quiet, good location and breakfast

Review 104:Staff very helpful, a great location, and beautifully clean.

Review 108:Tiny thing. . . .third floor, no elevator. Not a deal breaker.

Review 109:The location and the breakfast

Review 110:Beautiful house. Very friendly and competent staff. Comfortable room.

Review 111:Excellent location, free parking, friendly staff and great breakfast.

Review 112:One bed was very squeaky and should have been fixed. Our toilet blocked

Review 113:Staff friendly and efficient

Review 114:There was nothing I didn't like

Review 115:Great location. Great place Great staff. Great Breakfast.

Review 116:Our stay was delightful and a special thank you to Melanie in the dining room who was so friendly and helpful.

Review 117:What an amazing concept of rooming like a hotel, but services are like a Bed and Breakfast. We loved our stay!

Review 118:Quiet, spacious ground floor room with free parking, a great location, and an excellent breakfast.

Review 119:Absolutely perfect! Wonderful staff, great location, cozy, beautifully appointed room. Will definitely return!

Review 120:Wifi not always working

Review 121:Hard bed!!

Review 122:Staff, food, very homey!!

Review 123:We had a King bedroom, so it was like a mini-apartment. The location was fabulous.

Review 124:Quiet location but yet handy to the centre of Charlotte town. Beautiful boutique hotel which felt cosy and personal. Made feel very welcome☺

Review 125:parking is a little tight

Review 126:Pretty much everything was great
