Reviews for Banbridge Inn
Review 1:Found it rather pricey compared to the other places we stayed around the Maritime Provinces.
Review 2:Close to main highway and Charlottetown. Roomy, nice kitchenette. Very clean.
Review 3:Located on the main road coming into town where many of the chain hotels are also located. Traffic was noisy but fortunately the bedroom is located toward the back and the traffic is not too noticable.
Review 4:Small, locally owned hotel with personalized attention. Spacious rooms, clean and comfortable.
Review 5:That the dryer was out of order. That we were not told about the breakfast room and only discovered it by mistake. That we were not told that ice was available.
Review 6:Relatively quiet.
Review 7:Would have been nice to have a small fridge in room but there was no room. This was a remodeled motel.
Review 8:The room was small but it was very clean & bathroom was updated.
Review 9:Nothing.
Review 10:Having an actual bedroom was great rather than one big room like most motels/hotels. Excellent wifi. In-house laundry was much appreciated after being on the road for a week.
Review 11:There was no breakfast but they had a laundromat and they had a room with a micro and a fridge. They offered 24/7 free of charge coffee, tea, cold water bottles, juice boxes, bananas, yogurts. The couple who own the place were very welcoming and helpful.
Review 12:TV was very small and poor location to use. The 2 beds were double and the room size was small, a single queen or King size would fit better and allow for a small sitting area and relocation of the tv.
Review 13:good location, very clean, nice little communal coffee/tea room and some amenities like juice, water yogurt, fruit and oatmeal and a fridge
Review 14:No pool, but the beach is 20 min away
Review 15:Great motel in the right location to all facilities, very clean, quiet and I would book this again for a 2-3 week stay
Review 16:Loved that we were able to drive right up to our room. Also liked the full kitchen which was great for making breakfast. The location was convenient to the highway and shopping. Very friendly staff. Would definitely stay there again.
Review 17:Nothing!
Review 18:Excellent location just a few kilometers from the center of town. Lots of shopping nearby. Greatest breakfast at Smitty's! Great use of BBQ - cooked up some steaks bought from Walmart. Great restaurants in downtown Charlottetown - best was La Sirenella.
Review 19:Our room was in the old part at the back of the property. Foul odors would often come and go.
Review 20:The owners offered to upgrade at no extra cost. Unfortunately, because of difficulty with stairs, we had to refuse the suite offered on the second floor.
Review 21:Hotel staff were obviously to busy to help us when we tried to check in. On their way to lunch. Dead bolt on door would not engage because they were miss aligned. No coffee maker in room but did supply one for all the guests in another room. I guess that's cheaper than supplying every room with one.
Review 22:Not a lot
Review 23:I had to call the first morning as they did not come and make up the room, no new towels and garbage was not emptied, was very accomodating and brought new towels. Can hear lots of noises in rooms next to ours
Review 24:I liked the fact it is so close to Charlottetown.
Review 25:I loved everything about the property and its location but was disappointed with the pull out couch. We needed it for additional sleeping and it was HORRIBLE. Time to buy new ones for sure. The frame work is breaking down and was not supportive. My head was lower than my body when sleeping. I would definitely stay at this Inn again...but would bring my own blow up mattress.
Review 26:The entire staff was so helpful! The geraniums were gorgeous and the Adirondack chairs were situated perfectly on the property! Loved the ability to have fresh coffee every morning and appreciated the cups, sugar, coffee and filters! The coffee was robust and delish.
Review 27:The owners of this Banbridge Inn were fantastic. When I arrive they realized that I had two older children with me and offered to put me in their hotel unit with 2 double beds, instead of the Double and a pull out sofa. I kept the same room, and was so happy I did. Lots of room to stretch out and relax. The two owners were interested in what we were doing, and then the following morning, asked me how it went. Great People. Wish I had of stayed more that a day, and then I would have used the kitchen for cooking a meal or two.
Review 28:The owners were very helpful and friendly, the taxi service cost a fraction of what we are used to ...under $10 to get us from our motel to downtown Charlottetown, and they were very punctual ! The room was very cozy, like a little appartment, with living room area, kitchen (complete with dishes and ustensils ) and seperate bedroom ! Very clean ! There is a nice sitting area outside and a bbq available for guests ! Enjoyed our stay so much that we booked an extra night :)
Review 29:Pretty setting and quiet. Easy access to Ch'town or roads out. Kitchenette with coffee/tea juice, yogurt & oatmeal takes care of breakfast.
Review 30:The motel is quaint and staff are lovely and welcoming. We stayed to be centrally located on the island. They have BBQs for guests to use that are extremely clean and include all gadgets needed to cook. The refreshment room has a sink making cleanup a breeze. There are so many thoughtful touches they are impossible to name. I highly recommend this location to anyone who wants something different than a large chain or that wants to be able to prepare some or all of their own meals.
Review 31:Very outdated and more of a motel than an Inn. The website makes it look like its this peaceful sanctuary but in reality it's on a very busy road with traffic all night. Room had paper thin walls and although I got upgraded to a suite it was still way too much money (150$) for one night. Not even that accessible to downtown or the beaches. Right in the middle actually.
Review 32:We enjoyed the friendly staff, was told the best beaches and locations to hang out.
Review 33:This facility is better described as a motel rather than a hotel, and I did not feel that it was a three star facility.
Review 34:The hotel was easy to find. The available BBQ and picnic tables were a nice touch, as were the well-kept flowers and lawn. The room was a good size, as was the bathroom.
Review 35:Owner was most helpful. Upgraded one of our double rooms to a suite at no additional cost. Made great suggestions for road trip destinations and scenic routes.
Review 36:Kitchen did not have a microwave.
Review 37:The room was very quiet and private, but then there were not many other guests when we stayed. Everything was spotlessly clean, except for upholstered chair in living room which could use a deep clean. Loved having the kitchen facilities! Appreciate non-smoking.
Review 38:Had no complaints.
Review 39:We enjoyed the location, easy to find and very centrally located. The owner's were very pleasant and helpful with directions in their community. We would want to stay there again when visiting the Island.
Review 40:We had a suite, which was just like a one bedroom cottage. The kitchen was complete with fridge, stove, dishes, etc. We felt "at home". Friendly atmosphere.
Review 41:Sean, the owner was fantastic! Our travel dates were in the off season and he upgraded us to a suite for free. He was very helpful guiding us to restaurants, drives and don't miss sites. Just Superb.
Review 42:Staff seem short staffed. It took me over a week to get a copy of my invoice (which I lost). Also no microwave was a big disappointment.
Review 43:Staff are very helpful, and I love the grounds.
Review 44:This was an example of a pretty standard non-chain motel. There was nothing particularly special about the room. There were bare wooden floors with only a small rug between the two beds. The desktop was very small and soon covered with local travel literature. The shower head was not the best. Some of the electrical outlets in the room were rather loose and wouldn't accommodate a comparatively heavy power adapter for computer or iPad. The ones in the bathroom and by the desk were ok.
Review 45:The lady at the front desk was very helpful in providing directions into town and a recommendation for dinner. The beds were comfortable and temperature of the room easily controlled.
Review 46:There wasn't anything we didn't like about the Banbridge inn.
Review 47:Wonderfully located to get to all areas of Prince Edward Island. One of the owners, Gail, mapped out a spectacular day drive around PEI. We discovered so many great places on the Island. Then we returned to our cozy accommodations to relax for the night.
Review 48:The inn is beside a busy road which I didn't realise when I booked, so initially I was a bit disappointed but actually once inside its not noisy at all and this turned out to also be an upside as it made getting out on the road to explore the island very easy in the morning - so something to be aware of rather than 'dislike'.
Review 49:The inn is clean and comfortable - it felt cosy and cared for. Gail gave us lots of good advice about places to go which proved to be valuable - especially for the blueberry pancakes! It is a sweet place and very convenient for getting in and out of Charlottetown. The kitchen area was well stocked with complimentary goodies which we weren't expecting.
Review 50:Electrical outlet in bathroom didn't work. Other electrical outlets not conveniently located for computer etc. Laundry facility not open for guest use at convenient times
Review 51:Convenient to Tim Horton's. Snack room for visitors.
Review 52:The owner was very nice and informative of area restaurants. She was very accommodating to three of us showing up instead of two of us.The beds were very comfortable and the place was very clean.
Review 53:The area around the Bainbridge has seen much development over the past years and it is not in what one might consider a country setting.
Review 54:Room was very clean and comfortable and staff was very friendly and accommodating. Got some great suggestions on where to eat in Charlottetown and were not disappointed.
Review 55:Nothing to dislike.
Review 56:Banbridge Inn is located in a most convenient part of Charlottetown with only a 10-15 minute drive into downtown. The Inn was exceptionally clean and quiet and it would be our choice to stay there again on any return visit to a beautiful place in Canada.
Review 57:When it rained the raindrops were very loud on the air condition.
Review 58:Knowledge of PEI very good Nice to have BBQ facilities, If we need something they were always there to help
Review 59:I was a little disappointed that our room didn't have a bench outside, like the ones in the photos, instead having flower baskets. So that is something to remember to mention when booking next time.
Review 60:Nice quiet hotel, close enough to the center of Charlottetown, but with easy access to lots of other things close by too. Nice outdoor area for the kids to play. Super clean rooms with everything we needed.
Review 61:My only complaint was the size of the room & bath, at the same time realizing there is absolutely no way of changing it! It was a small, neat motel that took me back to the 50's. Cozy!!
Review 62:We'll kept, lots of flowers, good location. Very nice owner who was helpful with suggestions on how to spend our day.
Review 63:Our room was clean and both the mattress and pillows were very comfortable. That was a problem at other places we stayed. Also, the owner was really helpful in giving us tips on good places to visit and eat.
Review 64:175 a night including tax for a motel room. The staff (owners disappear all day)and return at 3 pm. Old. Note all the pictures they show on website are the flowers outside. This is for a good reason. Planned on staying 4 days but we bailed after two.
Review 65:The Banbridge Inn is a lovely property, reminiscent of a time when life was a slower pace. It is exceptionally clean and well maintained. The location is central on the island, close to downtown Charlottetown and a nice distance from the crowds of Cavendish. I would highly recommend it.
Review 66:Decor was a bit dated, but because everything was so well-maintained and clean, it didn't bother us.
Review 67:Everything was spotless and sparkling. The staff was wonderful. The location was convenient for touring PEI. The kitchen and separate bedroom were great for our longer stay.
Review 68:Room furnishings are Spartan. Linens are clean, but need to be replaced.
Review 69:Scrupulously clean. Everything is white & bright. Innkeepers were very friendly and most expert about P.E.I. They helped us plan some day outings for our visit.
Review 70:The kitchen was very small - well appointed, but very small. Would not want to spend more than a couple of days trying to maneuver around the kitchen. It isn't near any attractions at all.
Review 71:It was quiet - there was plenty of water, there appeared to be a bbq and tables for guests to use, but we didn't. I thought that was a nice touch for people who were staying for a longer period.
Review 72:The main problem was that booking.com made an error in describing the room to us. Our confirmation shows we booked 2 queen beds and we were 3 people (retired couple and elderly father). We arrived to a suite with 1 queen bed and a fold-out sofa in the living room.. The information provided to the hotel was for 1 queen bed and 2 people so the error was not with the hotel
Review 73:Very comfortable Very accommodation when booking error was recognized
Review 74:We loved the suite arrangement - it was effectively a 1-bedroom apartment with a fully furnished kitchen. The bed was fabulous. The decor was tasteful. The owners are hands-on managers who make sure everything is just right. Most important to us, the place was extremely clean and modern.
Review 75:No coffee/tea
Review 76:Host was helpful, and kindly provided extra pillows as requested. Bed was super comfortable. Great place to stay.
Review 77:Well taken care of inside in the room and outside on the beautiful grounds. Very convenient to shopping and downtown and Tim Hortons!
Review 78:nice clean room, really like Motel style - park outside room, kitchen facilities with Coffee, juices, and other snacks was great
Review 79:Hospitality, very informative with our questions. The maid service actually did our dishes! Pleasant area.
Review 80:Too expensive, like a 4-star hotel. A similar motel in New Brunswick was twice cheaper.
Review 81:Common kitchen area was well stocked and convenient.
Review 82:I liked the laundry facilities and the fridge/freezer available to guest. Clean, pleasant environment. We ate a meal outside at the picnic table.
Review 83:Facility was a little dated
Review 84:Owner was very informative
Review 85:very clean, ultra confortable bed and a great location (near the airport)
Review 86:Too much for a motel
Review 87:Very clean
Review 88:I liked the location of the Inn and the cleanliness and comfort.
Review 89:Attentive and helpful staff. Accommodation was clean, simple, well thought out, and had everything you needed.
Review 90:Very clean rooms. Friendly staff. Close to downtown. Great value for your money.
Review 91:Easy to find. Good location for other activities. Clean. Snack provisions available.
Review 92:Would have been nice to have a continental breakfast of some sort. The "help yourself room" was not adequately stocked.
Review 93:Was surprised and disappointed not to have a microwave. Considering that breakfast was not included I found it overpriced.
Review 94:It was clean and bright.
Review 95:Splendid motel close to town centre
Review 96:Water temperature fluctuations in the shower occasionally
Review 97:Staff friendliness
Review 98:nothing
Review 99:Clean, well appointed suite, lot's of space, comfortable, convenient location
Review 100:The location was peaceful and quiet.
Review 101:Very nice room, would definitely stay there again. Close to amenities. A few minutes drive to downtown. Owner is very friendly and laid back.
Review 102:Easy location to highway; easy drive downtown. Older style room but very clean and well equipped.
Review 103:Kitchen was great as were the rooms.
Review 104:none
Review 105:It met our needs very well
Review 106:I liked that the room was very, very clean, the beds were extremely comfortable and the location was really quiet.
Review 107:Vet clean, spacious
Review 108:friendly service
Review 109:Would be good if the room had a microwave.
Review 110:Made our vacation with a toddler much easier.
Review 111:The owners of the facility were extremely nice.
Review 112:Loved the cleanliness and comfort of the room. Very nice stay and the location to downtown Charlottetown was very convenient.
