Reviews for The Coast Blackcomb Suites At Whistler
Review 1:Great location with a bus that takes you right to the village for free! Snowboard vallet so you dont have to bring your gear into your room. Full kitchen and fireplace. Would definitely stay here again.
Review 2:The fact that it was ski in/ski out was a great benefit. We enjoyed the location because it was far enough away from the bustle of Whistler Village to be quiet, but close enough to reach it whenever we felt the need to travel there.
Review 3:The parking fee was kind of high.
Review 4:Nice condo. It was equipped with all kitchen necessities. Excellent ski in/ski out location. Free breakfsst. Easy access to ski storage. Nice pool and 2 hot tubs.
Review 5:TV had a piercing whistle on several channels and the mattress was soft and had a dip in the middle. The couch is shot... Hard to sit in and hard to get out of.
Review 6:The location was great, staff was great, pool and hot tub was great, the food was good.
Review 7:Leaving!
Review 8:Awesome ski in ski out facility. Easy to store and get skis. Great breakfast, bus stop right outside, easy to get into the town center. Focus on Eco friendliness.
Review 9:Buffet breakfast disappointing. Bed not very comfortable. They forgot to supply enough towels and robes.
Review 10:Great hot tub and pool area. Easy to use shuttle as well as slope access. Rental options on site. Quiet.
Review 11:Upon check in our first room had not been cleaned. Staff at front counter was very apologetic and placed us in a different room. Although advertised as a slope side ski in:ski out.... The run leading to the hotel was not open. This should be advertised to guests prior to booking as having to drive to the main parking lot to ski defeats the purpose of having a slope side room. A very family friendly hotel.... Be prepared for a fair amount of noise from children.
Review 12:Friendly staff at front counter to check in. Continental breakfast was included.
Review 13:I only stayed two out of the three nights and gave the hotel plenty of time (on the first date I arrived) to let them know I did not need the third night and they refused to let me check out early as to not pay for the third night. They then noted that they were all booked, which means if they would have let me cancel the third night on the first day, they could have booked it. So I stayed two nights and they were paid for three. I left early enough I would imagine that they rented the room for Saturday night and were paid twice for the room! Also when it gets busy the ski check out area will get way too busy.
Review 14:Fantastic location, easy check in, great room, easy ski pick up and drop off. Pool and hot tub were great. I would stay again.
Review 15:Staying only one night but was charged for 5 then when I inquired about this issue I was told that I a refund had been processed (not) and then charged another $250. Still waiting for a reply.
Review 16:Good value for price in Whistler if you are charged the correct amount. Very nice staff.
Review 17:The only thing we wish was different was the cleanliness of the pool and hot tub. Because of this, we both ended up with a painful hot tub rash, which is the result of unclean facilities.
Review 18:We really enjoyed the location of the hotel, very close to Whistlers village. The hotel offered a free shuttle that came quite often, which was really nice. The room was great, the kitchen had everything you could possibly need, the staff was great, and we also enjoyed the facilities.
Review 19:Wifi was not working all the time, often very slow.
Review 20:Very friendly staff, our daughter forgot her favorite stuffy and after I called them once back, they went to look for it and send it back to us! Clean, comfortable, great pool and whirlpool. Our second stay there and porbabely not the last!
Review 21:Not a fan of the parking charge. After spending money on a room, it feels a bit cheap to charge 19 dollars for something that is free just down the hill.
Review 22:Room was very nice, great to have the fireplace and the beds were huge!
Review 23:We came a bit early and were told there werent any rooms available for check in (they had checked the couple in before us that had also booked through the same website we did). I had another question so came back right away and spoke to the next clerk who then offered to check us into a room early with no problem.
Review 24:Room was hot with no air conditioning
Review 25:Couch and chair were comfy; lots of room; great balcony view; 2 hottubs; robes; full kitchen; great breakfast; underground parking; all day coffee downstairs
Review 26:The breakfast area where dogs could walk through, dingy room, toasters didn't work, sweet cereal . Screen door to deck in room was broken, hotel parking was pricey at $23 daily.
Review 27:Good location ...right up on the mountain, gym on site, well equipped and clean in room kitchen, very pleasant staff. Good coffee, infused water available all day, daily newspapers and free shuttle to downtown were bonus features.
Review 28:A little bit of a walk to the town centre but ok for me as I like to walk, there is a free transit bus that goes wright to the door if you don,t want to walk
Review 29:No noise
Review 30:A little bit far from the village and the hill is quite tiering for a 70 year old who is not in the best of shapes.
Review 31:Good size of suites and large private balcony
Review 32:My only little issue was WiFi. It was not very strong, and I kept losing my connection. My cell reception was great, but my ipad is older and I think that was part of it.
Review 33:Very nice hotel, with nice amenities. I enjoyed the outdoor pool and hot tub. The complimentary breakfast was excellent! I expected a basic breakfast of coffee, toast, and cereal, but there was much much more. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel if you don't want to drive and it is free! It takes you right to the village in a few minutes. The setting and surroundings are quite beautiful.
Review 34:None
Review 35:This hotel was in a quiet setting and even though many young families were there, our time was restful and eventful. It is close to town with bus transportation and yet far enough away to feel "out-of-town". Great place for the young and old.
Review 36:WiFi cuts in and out constantly and drained our phones' batteries.
Review 37:The hotel rooms are amazing. We would have loved to have spent more time at the hotel. We loved sitting on our balcony sipping coffee and enjoying the serenity.
Review 38:None whatsoever.
Review 39:The location is quiet, going into the village very easy, downhill walk and free shuttle bus will take you back to the hotel premises every 30 minutes or so. Facilities very good, pool is nice, hot tub is nice, breakfast has good selection - items replenished right away, minimal line up for food during peak hours, waffles are made fresh - might have a bit of a line up since this is quite yummy and quite popular. Check in/out a breeze, staff helpful.
Review 40:Pet friendly options are always great. The room was a nice size and set up. We only stayed one night so didn't feel we had time to take advantage of the room and hotel features. Breakfast included is always a bonus. The free shuttle to the village is very convenient. It would be nice to have dairy free options at breakfast (like yogurt, dairy free milk) overall a nice place to stay. I would stay again.
Review 41:some guests are very disrespectful, children running along corridors, loud laughing from guests
Review 42:the view, breakfast each day. the location friendly staff
Review 43:Extremely friendly & helpful staff. Loved the convenient location, & enjoyed the lovely pol & hot tub! It was so nice to bbq outside, enjoy our own cooked outdoor dining with wine! Thank you!
Review 44:The queen hide a bed was horrible and truly needs replacing. No air conditioning but they provided a fan which was ok. Had it been super hot-it would have been very uncomfortable.
Review 45:Very comfortable and easy place to stay. The set up in the queen studio was very good. Loved the full kitchen and the shuttle and walk to blackcomb was very convenient. Breakfast was also very good.
Review 46:Pull out couch was uncomfortable, good job a three year old was sleeping on it!
Review 47:We loved the clean rooms, well equipped kitchen, quiet at night and ice machine! Gin and tonics all round!
Review 48:it would have been great to have had a children's play area on the premises.
Review 49:It was great to be away from the commercialism of Whistler, and to be so close to Lost lake and various hiking routes.
Review 50:No air conditioning. Brakes/car noise in front of hotel. Parking redicuolis cost.
Review 51:Gorgous settings for room views and the pool/bbq areas. Free shuttle. Free brkfst. Staff kind, classey.
Review 52:We found an old sock in the hide-a-bed when we opened it. Upon return for our second night the towels had been rearranged, in a manner that showed someone had been in the room, but hard to tell if it was actually housekeeping. (We did not ask for fresh linens). Bed was not made.
Review 53:Very quiet location. Studio suite was very well laid and roomy enough for 3 people in the summer. Loved the availability of the shuttle bus.
Review 54:seeing as this facility is quite far from the village 23.00 for parking seemed quite high. if i stay here again i will park in the free lot and take the free shuttle up to the hotel. the room also did not have any a/c system and seeing as our balcony was on ground level we could not leave the door open which made for three very uncomfortable nights
Review 55:the free shuttle out front of the hotel was great. we never had to walk back up the hill
Review 56:Parking is a problem, space between cars very restricted. Long weekend, guests kept me up till well after three am. Room without air required door and window open, noise and conversations from main entrance disturb sleep.
Review 57:Pool area, although limited hours 10am.
Review 58:staff seemed indifferent whether we were there or not - didn't go out of their way to smile, say good morning etc.
Review 59:Very nice hotel with a neat location.
Review 60:Wi-Fi was spotty at best, and there was more pool chaises needed around the pool to accommodate all the guest that were staying at the property. The rooms should have been kept a lot cleaner for the price that you pay at the end of your stay.
Review 61:Very quiet and good location with quick access to The Village.
Review 62:The room with a view wasn't up to much..
Review 63:When told the receptionist about the view from the room, I immediately was given a free upgrade and the the view was spectacular. .Thank you
Review 64:There was no air conditioning and it was over 30 degrees! Very stuffy and uncomfortable throughout the hotel.
Review 65:Great breakfast and pool area. Quiet and beautiful location at the top of Blackcomb. Free shuttle bus into the Village.
Review 66:The hotel has very little amenities. No restaurant, and mediocre buffet breakfast that. What I was really unhappy with was the fact that I the room fee was increased the night before a stat holiday, even though or reservation was made in advance, and our check in date was for the 28th. Had I realized that this was happening we would have checked out on the 29th. I will be writing a letter regarding this to the management.
Review 67:Nothing.
Review 68:The location is far away from the village, but that is clearly stated everywhere. Luckily, it is a free 5 min shuttle away, or a $8 cab ride.
Review 69:The front desk staff were excellent.
Review 70:got there early but waited and waited for check in and It all felt very self serve...
Review 71:Loved the waffles and the beautiful location. Had fun swimming and hot tubbing and of course hiking/biking!
Review 72:Had to pay for parking. Pool was too crowded and room had no AC in June. Sticky breakfast tables; poor layout of breakfast buffet.
Review 73:Facilities were very nice. Although we did not use the fireplace, it added to the mountain decor. Having a kitchen was a bonus. Free shuttle bus to town. Self-serve laundry.
Review 74:walking into town takes about 30min
Review 75:Great stay. Good pool, good breakfast. Free bus #5 into town. Winter would be epic as can ski in and out of the hotel.
Review 76:i would not stay in this hotel again in the summer months, there is no Air conditioning, altho we had 3 fans it was unbearable hot, we were on the 3rd floor, other than that it was a great stay,
Review 77:loved the free breakfast it was so convenient , and the shuttle was great always on time ,
Review 78:The hotel does not have air conditioning!! It was hot out and the rooms were extremely uncomfortable without a/c. Would suggest they disclose the lack of a/c for people booking. There was no onsite restaurant. The hotel was quite a distant from the village, the shuttle was nice but overall an inconvenient location if you want to go the village
Review 79:The staff were very friendly and helpful! The pool and patio area was nice
Review 80:No air conditioning, repeat, no air conditioning. It was 33C in Whistler when we were there, 3 July 2015. The hotel provided a stand fan; but even with that and sleeping naked on top of the sheets with the window and the balcony door open, it was still too hot.
Review 81:Whistler is a great location, hotel looks nice. It would be great in the spring, fall, or winter.
Review 82:There is a laundry list of things that this building has not taken into consideration when claiming the hotel is accessible. 1. There are no buttons on the doors leading inside from the parking garage 2. I was not offered a hand with luggage 3. There is no pool lift 4. When the room was booked there was no option for an accessible suite, I therefore had to pay more to upgrade to an accessible one bedroom, where a king bed was not an option and no room to have bags in the bedroom without stacking them in the closet 5. The tub bench did not have a back on it, I have no core muscles to hold me up, how do you expect me to balance without a back on the seat? 6. The toilet is low, not easy to transfer onto.
Review 83:I liked the pool area for lounging. The room was nice & close to the elevator. Staff were very nice and tried to accommodate the best they could.
Review 84:if going during summer. and in heat wave there is no A/C I think they should add that to website. the rooms along mountain side don't cool off until about 2 am where it's comfortable to sleep. if parking is full you pay 23 a day to park down the hill on side of road
Review 85:the pool and size of rooms were perfect, exercise room was good
Review 86:We were there during a heat wave and would have loved to have air conditioning in the room. The line up for waffles in the morning takes too long; not the fault if the staff who work steadily at several waffle makers.
Review 87:The rooms are clean, the breakfast is substantial, and the free shuttle to the village is an excellent feature.
Review 88:The parking bays seemed very narrow, it was difficult with alarge vehicle.
Review 89:Love the 'make your own waffles', staff were great, hotel was beautiful, great for summer or winter.
Review 90:-expensive parking -limited breakfast choices
Review 91:-friendly staff -clean -breakfast included -well stocked kitchen in our room -balcony with room -large quantity for soap & shower
Review 92:We had asked for a mountain side room got one over top of the garageentry. Garbage and recycling truck woke us at 7 am the first morning, and was followed by continuous construction noise from 7:30 (Friday andsat am). Busses and other guests coming and going disturbed what wassupposed to be a quite sleepy/ lazy get away. I would never stayhere again, particularly after I asked for a room on the other side ofthe hotel and was told it would be an additional $50 / night....thehotel staff (with their wisdom) felt that a group of 15-17 year old skiracers would be a better fit for the front rooms with a quite vista thana couple in their 40'S. Great hospitality- not! Further there was alayer of dust on the furniture, the couch was saggy and had a springpoking thru, which dir into my leg, and the fireplace did not work (yesit was summer but our first night was cold and raining)
Review 93:Pool/ spa
Review 94:Room was so hot and no way to air condition. Closet door fell off . Free breakfast was very congested . Parking was too expensive.
Review 95:Beautiful view. Convenient shuttle bus to village center . Front desk staff was helpful.
Review 96:Although the bed was big it was a bit unworn. Wasn't the most comfortable sleep I've had a hotel.
Review 97:How roomy the room was and the hot tub/pool facilities were nice. Loved the open space where the breakfast is served.
Review 98:For the money it was not what one would have expected. Beds were ok and space size adequate. Far from luxurious. Bunk beds were very uncomfortable.not enough staff available was apparent.
Review 99:Location good . Service to our fireplace was prompt.barbeque facilities were great.
Review 100:Broken arm for bedroom armchair. Broken coffee maker lid. Minor bathroom leak on day one. Major bathroom leak on day three. Decor is average. No in-room laundry facilities.
Review 101:Location is great. Breakfast is very adequate.
Review 102:We visited the property over the family day weekend. We rented two a two bedroom and to our dismay, the second bedroom had two twin beds. Super small and not comfortable. Very disappointing. The entire room requires a facelift.
Review 103:room cleaning was ok, but only ok. found cigarette packet behind sofa, another cigarette loose.
Review 104:unfussy, consistently ok to good, never exceptional, but never bad! ski store and ski in/ski out are the best. most whistler hotels advertise this, only the coast really has it.
Review 105:We love this hotel for its location access to slope and bus transport. The ski storage is superb, room facilities great and breakfast offers something for everyone.
Review 106:Lack of seating for breakfast in the morning, was very packed. But that was just rush hour.
Review 107:Great Stay, Ski Valet Service was awesome and it was very relaxing.
Review 108:The place is run down. There are no comfortable couches anywhere. The carpets are old and ragged. The plumbing hardware is cheap and falls off. The breakfast which is included is the same everyday ... Boiled eggs and porridge and if you want to wait ... Waffles.
Review 109:Very long wait times at reception desk, low price attracts some young people having too much beer and making noise, internet needs typing login and password every time - too much hassle for personal devices, parking garage costs $23 per day (we've been told about that at check in), regular breakfast (muffins and pancakes, no meat, sausage or deli cuts).
Review 110:Location will be perfect for you if you don't like to be in noisy village, shuttle bus runs every 10 mins and it takes another 10 mins to get back to hotel from village. This hotel even has access to ski slope. The place has nice rooms very similar to published pictures, round the clock tea and coffee, ski storage, outdoor heated pool. Overall impression is nice.
Review 111:Repeat customer needed to pay for upgrade to have type of room we had always had before. Do not like to have to pay additjional for parking in empty garage
Review 112:Parking is not free and expensive (19$/day). This was not mentioned while booking or checking in. Limited items for breakfast (no eggs or bacon). Dogs are allowed, but according to hotel rules, they cannot be taken to breakfast or even left alone in the room. So what do you do?
Review 113:Clean and spacious fully furnished 1 bedroom suite. Breakfast included. Dog Friendly (at 25$/pet/night) Good service
Review 114:We found that the central heating was too hot and couldn't altered.
Review 115:We loved the hotel room and facilities. The breakfast and all day tea and coffee was great. The staff were wonderful, helpful and friendly. Hotel was in a quiet location. Good shuttle service.
Review 116:paying for the parking..
Review 117:the girls at the front desk. the pool area .the breakfast . .the hotel was always peacefull and quiet.just a nice place to be. well worth the money we paid.. the bus came by the hotel every half hour.
Review 118:The bed in 535 needs to be replaced. My husband thought it was alright but I don't like rolling to the center. Next time I will ask for a suite with a newer bed.
Review 119:At first I thought that next time I would want to stay right in the village but like everything at this hotel so much that this is where I will stay when in Whistler. Loved the staff, pool & hot tubs, the CLEANLINESS & the peace & quiet. We thought the continental breakfast was really very good-a great variety.
Review 120:The property is great for those looking to have a relaxed & quiet visit to Whistler as couples, families or business travellers. The free (yes, free) shuttle bus outside the hotel to the upper & lower villages is a huge bonus especially since it runs until 1am. You couldn't ask for friendlier staff. So for your next trip try the Coast!
Review 121:property is dated and worn out, needs updating before we will stay there again. Breakfast is okay. Weak wifi signal, could access on only one device at a time.
Review 122:Quiet, way up the hill on Blackcomb side, village easily accessible by free shuttle (convenient)
Review 123:Toiletry products provided were not good Contninental breakfast room is too small for the volume of users
Review 124:Great Value for the money Fully equipped kitchen very clean
Review 125:Our room was located down a hall with construction after flood damage from a fire. Plywood walls, holes in walls, dreary. The room was worn. The window screens were ripped and falling off. So disappointing. We asked for a room change & got it for our second and third nights. Room was better but the whole facility was a bit worn with needed painting, carpeting. The elevators were scuffed up and dingy too.
Review 126:Location was good. Free shuttle was good. Outside landscape was nice. Nice to have buffet breakfast.
Review 127:Pool didn't open until 10 am. Toilet ran on. The elevators and main area looked "tired" well used. Needs some paint and fixing up.
Review 128:Very quiet Clean, full kitchen in a studio, that was great. Nice pool and BBQ area. Accepted pets Even though it was busy, we didn't feel like it was crowded. The staff at the front counter were very friendly and accommodating
Review 129:nothing .
Review 130:the pool area was very nice. all the girls at the front desk were very nice and helpful. they all seemed to care about their quests and were very friendly and helpful. the room was very nice and liked the view of the trees and forest out are window.
Review 131:The sofa and living room chair were very uncomfortable. The bed was very hard.
Review 132:I loved the ambience of the resort and the room was very nice and clean. It was quiet and the staff was very nice. Lovely pool and Jacuzzi.
Review 133:The breakfast buffet no longer includes bacon and eggs but still good selection
Review 134:Peaceful and quiet location. Great pool and hot tubs. Friendly and efficient staff. Comfortable clean room. The big bottles of bathroom products.
Review 135:Breakfast needs more protein. Our studio was over the front door and noise happens until everyone is in.
Review 136:Free Breakfast! Studio room layout is nice. Free shuttle from front door to town and back very handy. Very helpful staff. From the back of the hotel there is a short walk to the upper village.
Review 137:Small/crowded pool and total chaos at the breakfast buffet. Apologetic signs suggesting that food be taken back to your room are not a solution ... rather an excuse for poor service. The entire place needs a refurbish. 3 star rating is a stretch.
Review 138:Location i.e. Whistler
Review 139:The part we did not enjoy, was that such a reputable hotel charges for parking. People save for their vacation with their family, and have to pay an extra $23 per night for their car. Why? This is unreasonable.
Review 140:My daughter and I enjoyed that breakfast was included. We could enjoy our vacation more.
