Reviews for Cascade Lodge by ResortQuest Whistler
Review 1:Dishwasher leaked, no kettle, a big wide bath but water was never hot enough to use it.
Review 2:Good location, easy access to all of Whistler. Plenty of space in room.
Review 3:I would liked to have free parking as other properties were offering this as it was early season. Other properties have bath robes and as your large pool is your claim to fame, it would be a nice addition and an expected one. I also liked the sauna which I had to myself.
Review 4:I thoroughly liked the pool . It was very warm in room----(almost a little too warm as we couldn't adjust the heat but had to open the window.)
Review 5:The shower curtain was moldy but they relaced it once we told them. There was water leaking from the Window seal to the carpet the entire time. There was mold in the corner of the ceiling.
Review 6:You can walk to the village. Great location!
Review 7:Cons: - Bathroom needs to have a good scrub and update - smoke detector was hanging down from ceiling exposing wires. - bedroom was very cold compare to rest of the room
Review 8:Pros: - wonderful sized outdoor heated pool with 2 small outdoor hot tubs - location I feel was good. It took 5 - 10 minutes to walk to the lifts - one bedroom was a good and comfortable size for a family of 4 - even though room was facing the road, it was quiet - Full kitchen that had everything we needed to cook meals - has a washer and drier - large bedroom closet
Review 9:Sheets didn't fit bed and constantly fell off making for an uncomfortable sleep. Room wasn't great as a whole. Lots of broken and old appliances.
Review 10:Great pool and hot tubs. Mountain view was nice.
Review 11:The staff is rude and didnt allow us to get a late check out(when it was written on the contract that we could) because apparently everyone was asking for it...and they had to say no to someone.
Review 12:Good position thats all.
Review 13:The room was very small. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable. The room was not what we expected for the price we paid. We were disappointed with the accommodations.
Review 14:The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Review 15:The drain in the tub was clogged, causing the water to pool in the tub while showering. We kept thinking about all the hair of past guests that must've been in there... The shower curtain was badly torn in multiple places, needed to be replaced.
Review 16:The staff were friendly, the bed was comfortable and the room was a great size (stayed in a studio). The wifi was also very good. We didn't have any connection issues.
Review 17:They didn't have enough Toilet Paper or towels and when we would ask for more TP, they would give us one roll so we were constantly going to the front desk for more. :-) Other than that, excellent experience.
Review 18:We like the location, staff, pools and facilities.
Review 19:The room I had was very noisy, due to electrical buzz from the air conditioning unit, and when I asked if I could move I was told all the rooms had similar noise levels and they would have to charge me a cleaning few if I wanted to move! Outrageous! The staff were not very helpful and one time when waiting to ask reception a question I waited until the lady had finished playing with her mobile phone!
Review 20:Pool area
Review 21:Some annoying accounting double charges, but they were cleared up. There is no maid service, so be prepared to take out the trash. Antiquated key system doesn't play nicely with cell phones. Antiquated check out system, where I had to check out at the desk, then they didn't cross me off the list, anyway! Inconveniences, only, but they need to update their hotel management technology.
Review 22:Functioning kitchen. Good sized room. Comfortable and clean. Friendly front desk staff.
Review 23:When check-in, they didn't find my reservation. I had to resend the receptionist the confirmation email. Their housekeeping room service is only offered for stays longer than 5 nights, and only once every 4 days.
Review 24:Little outdated, carpets were a bit dirty and unit could use a paint job but overall quite happy !
Review 25:Great location, units were well stocked and perfect for what we needed, great value, nice staff !
Review 26:No Breakfast. No Ice! No maid service, disgusting! Could'nt care less staff. Expensive parking. All this for paying 'top dollar' can not recomend.
Review 27:location only
Review 28:We had absolutely no view. Although we liked the pool, we found that it was constantly filled with leaves and quite murky - not sure if this was due to chemicals or was dirty?
Review 29:We were pleased with the space of our 2-bedroom combo (1 bedroom + bachelor). The pool was great for the kids.
Review 30:Why pay extra for Parking? Should be included in the price of the room. The pool area could stay open a bit longer (closes at 10PM)
Review 31:The location is great.
Review 32:The room was dusty especially in the corners. Also the room vents were quite dusty and dirty. The staff were polite but aloof.
Review 33:The room layout was perfect for our family of five with teen-age children, having a studio suit connected to a one bedroom suit. Also the view of the mountains, and of the pool from our balcony so we could keep an eye on our kids without having to go into the pool ourselves.
Review 34:My debit card was charged instead of my credit card. I called to get it straightened out, but it was re-done incorrectly too...still not sure it's correct. But all of the mistakes have caused me to incur a lot of money in international transaction fees from Bank of America. I also have spent a lot of time on the phone trying to get this all figured out.
Review 35:We liked the layout and roominess of the suite.
Review 36:We had booked a King bed as advertised and when we checked in were given a room with a Queen size bed. I talked to the front desk and was informed that the hotel had no king bed at all. I asked for them to find a solution as I paid for a room with a king and It took them three days to do so, after I went and asked about the situation contuinetly. The solution was not what I expected. Also other guests were parting till 2:30 most nights on their patio so we were not able to sleep with our windows open, the staff did nothing about it as we were not aware of the room number.
Review 37:The room had a dishwasher with was nice and it was a close walk to the Village. The pool facilities were nice.
Review 38:Needs to be updated. Damaged furniture, uncomfortable bed. Blackout blinds are in the living room but not the bedroom. This should be reversed.
Review 39:Great location, spacious suite.
Review 40:Although requesting to be in ground floor rooms and close to my elderly mom, we were initially given 2 rooms across the hall from each other in the absolute farthest rooms from the elevator on the 3rd floor. It was not feasible for my mom to walk so far, so consequently she was offered a ground floor room next to the pool. This was much better for her but because of the multiple rental companies at this property, we were not able to be in a room any closer to her. This made getting together for family meals very challenging and definitely took away from her overall holiday experience.
Review 41:2 bedroom suite was a great option for my husband and I and our 2 young adult kids as it gave them a self contained space to go if they wanted to watch tv/listen to music or sleep late etc.
Review 42:The bed was awful! We slept on the floor one of the nights. We did however get moved to another room and the bed was better. If we didn't get moved we would have left. Problem is if we left I wouldn't get any money returned even though we were unhappy. I won't be booking again for that reason.
Review 43:Location was great, hotel was clean and staff was friendly and helpful
Review 44:wifi was bad, cutting in and out! Wasn't told about $30 a day resort fee - radiculous!!. The shower curtain had black mold in it!! Hold tubs were cold for better half of morning. No vending machine or treats in building.
Review 45:Room, pool, location
Review 46:No black out curtains on the windows meant I was up at the crack of dawn. The wouldn't be a problem in the winter but in the summer it meant losing some needed rest.
Review 47:Great location -easy to get to.
Review 48:Cheap (not inexpensive) quality towels. Dull knives, no bottle opener, salt, pepper, the 'condiments' were taken from a restaurantthe owner didn't have the class to purchase them outright inshakers! Having to pay $18/day for parking was ridiculous andshould be added into the cost of the room if it has to be charged forbut to tell me when I get there that there is an extra charge on topof the room already being paid in full did not start my weekend off onthe right foot! The air conditioning in the small room (which Iwasn't aware we would have 2 separate apts!) was loud and kept usup most of the nights.
Review 49:Wanderlust!
Review 50:Room wasn't really clean like you'd want a hotel room to be. Wifi was sluggish at best. One morning I couldn't get my bike out of the bike cage because it was still deadbolted. You have to pay extra to park on the property which seems a little ridiculous.
Review 51:Location is awesome. Nice views of the mountain. Good pool. Very much appreciate the full kitchen.
Review 52:We were extremely unhappy with our stay not because the Cascade Lodge was not nice but because resort quest moved us to a different place and we didn't stay at Cascade Lodge. This was extremely disappointing as we were in whistler for a hockey tournament and there were 8-10 other families booked there. When I called them to ask why we had been moved they said it was because the room they had place use in required maintenence. Even when I explained that when I booked there were still a half dozen rooms available and it should be someone who booked after us who was moved they said there was nothing they could do. This was extremely disappointing as our kids we sad they were not in the same hotel as their friends.
Review 53:the room was shabby, and dull, there was no time at the hotel that I felt welcome or special and it was expensive to feel like that.
Review 54:Location and the pool
Review 55:Pull out sofa beds need to be changed or upgraded. They are incredibly uncomfortable.
Review 56:Location is stones throw away to Whistler Village. Pool and hot tub are amazing. Rooms are spacious and kitchenette equipped enough for short stay. Absolutely loved the two bedroom set up.
Review 57:Wifi was difficult and not easily fixed. Did not end up using it. Front desk seemed unsure of a few things, didn't seem to know facility well but were nice.
Review 58:Good size rooms, reasonable price great location and decent pool.
Review 59:The road noise was minorly bothersome but we were used to it by the second night.
Review 60:We got a 2 bedroom but did not really need the space. The rooms were large and we could have made do with the one bedroom. (We do have a child who does not mind sleeping on the floor). The extra space however was lovely and the unit was stocked with everything we needed.
Review 61:There were two hot tubs. Only one was open. There were too many people to accommodate. The outdoor pool was lovely and heated, but the lack of access to a hot tub was disappointing. Control on the hot plate was problematic. The bath tub took 5 minutes to drain 1 inch of water.
Review 62:It was quiet. We were able to sleep well
Review 63:In the furtherest room on property you hear all the vehicles on the highway, fridge hummed all night.
Review 64:The bed was very comfy after a long day on the mountain. The staff were helpful and location is perfect.
Review 65:The bed was supposed to be a king as it said online only got a very uncomfortable queen. Pool and hot tub was not very good. Had to pay to park there when I alrdy had to pay 800$ for 3 nights. There was mold on the ceiling in more then one location. I had to call maintnence 3 times as the room was falling apart.
Review 66:The staff were very helpful. Location is good.
Review 67:Our shower drain was working poorly, but they fixed that ASAP for us.
Review 68:Friendly and accommodating staff! Amazing location right by the village. Ask for a mountain side view if possible, you won't be disappointed!
Review 69:Most everything else. We've stayed here before and came back this time because we had a much better accommodation. Won't make it a 4th time One bad trip is enough.
Review 70:The staff and convenience of the ski storage room
Review 71:Initial studio room was very small with no room to dry ski equipment orfeel comfortable cooking dinner after skiing all day.
Review 72:After initially having a small studio room we spoke with the front deskand they were able to upgrade us to a 1-bedroom for a reasonable upgradefee. Facilities were great, spacious room, hot tub and pool were greatafter skiing
Review 73:The apartment including the bathroom could do with some extra hooks or coat pegs. When five or more people are sharing, you need somewhere to hang heavy coats. The small entrance to the two separate rooms would be a good place to put these.
Review 74:The fact that the second bedroom was totally independent of the main living area. This was good for our daughter and son-in-law for privacy. The location and view from the windows was excellent
Review 75:The bed made a lot of noise as soon as one of us would move a finger. The studio kitchenette doesn't have any oven
Review 76:The swimming pool, the 2 hot tubs, the gym, the ski/board concierge, proximity to the ice skating rink, the free shuttle in that area
Review 77:Heaters in bedroom very noisy .
Review 78:I stay with my family for two nights. Place is very nice, rooms very cozy and clean. Full kitchen, comfortable beds. We like very match and we will cam back. Yes I recommended 100% .
Review 79:Nothing the stay was great.
Review 80:Perfect location, close to all shops and restaurants. Has nice pool, hot tub and gym facilities. Staff were excellent really helpful and friendly.
Review 81:The location, the location!!!! It was truly a wonderful place to stay. The staff were so accommodating and very helpful with directions, things to do and parking options.
Review 82:I had a couple of requests that weren't followed through with. I asked for sheets, I would change the bed myself, after the first night. I had to call to the desk when I came in at 2am to get them. The cooktop in my kitchenette wouldn't turn off. I asked for help with it but no one ever came to deal with it. I turned off the breaker myself so that it wouldn't stay on.
Review 83:I like this hotel for its location close to the village.
Review 84:Kitchen needs rather more cooking equipment - pots, utensils etc.
Review 85:General standard of accommodation and convenient location made for a great family vacation. Excellent value.
Review 86:Kitchen facilities, electric hobs, microwave, dishwasher, washer, dryer, fridge, freezer, walking distance to grocery store and village stroll and ski lifts. Nice swimming pool and small gym. Really comfortable bed. We extended our stay so we could stay longer!
Review 87:Didn't have a cheese grater in kitchen. Very tiny issue in the scheme if things:)
Review 88:Loved it! I had booked a two bedroom suite and was surprised when we got adjoining rooms. The second bedroom even had a fridge, hot plate, dishwasher and dishes. What an awesome place! So close to everything too but quite. Great pool and hot tub area!
Review 89:Room was not ready I wasn't happy with the cleaniness If it wasn't for Liam (night manager on duty)who went beyond his duty to clean our room we probably would of left
Review 90:Good night sleep Nice room set up
Review 91:Location (summer), easy access to Whistler village (2 min walk) and Blackcomb, bike and hiking trails but away from the bustle and noise of the village for sleeping at night Staff were very friendly and helpful Studio was clean and had all the amenities
Review 92:Considering the price the overall experience was not worth it. There was a vomit stain aside of the bed, which radiated horrible odor. Broken light bulbs - took over an hour and three phone calls to replace. No room service, expensive parking. Drunk kids were swimming in the pool at night and nobody told them off. Would definitely not recommend.
Review 93:The wifi is quite inconsistent but wasn't a major problem. Gym Facilities were poor- a broken treadmill and only Maybe 3 other machines- no weights or mats etc. The town has a fitness centre you can pay to attend though if you're desperate for a workout! Only other downside was the hotel has no bar so you can't 'pop down for a drink', but there are lots of places nearby and the staff made great recommendations.
Review 94:The rooms were great; kitchen very well equipped and everything in great condition. Was really impressed with all the utensils etc- made cooking extremely easy. The pool and hot tubs were great; heated and well kept. Staff were really helpful and knowledgable, and the location is perfect- just 2 mins walks from the centre- but far enough away for some peace and quiet! We were all so pleased we picked this hotel.
Review 95:Didn't like the loud air conditioner that kept kicking in and out..turned off one night, opened windows... Loud hulligans outside...noisy. Pull out couch worst ever slept on.. Even after they said they replaced it! Was just shot!!! Had to fold back up ... Sleep on actual couch part!! Terrible 3 nights sleep!! Head diving in towards head board! Smelly red blanket! Bathrooms in pool area poorly upkept! Smelled and not clean !
Review 96:Pool was great, kitchen facilities in unit was very functional. Good layout. Like there was laundry machines in unit...
Review 97:The kitchen needs re outfitting... The largest cups we could find to drink from, came from the water cooler in the fitness room! Dull knives= dangerous knives... The pull out couch is from the 90's. The mattress seemingly was used as a safety mat for the mountain bike course!!
Review 98:1 bedroom suite clean and comfy..... Great pool and 2 hot tubs... Close to everything
Review 99:The bed. Shook like crazy if one of us even moved to itch our nose and creaked really loudly. Also, the bathroom door. It has to be slammed to shut because it is loosened at the hinges so it can clear the ceiling fan. Not so good. Didn't stay the second night even though it was paid and non refundable.
Review 100:Location and staff
Review 101:I had a five day stay and was told at check in that the room would be serviced on the fourth day. I reminded the front desk four times and was given excuses that the cleaning staff called in sick or was unreliable. Room was never serviced had to request fresh towels and toilet paper. Would not recommend! They did say they would reverse the cleaning fee but would have preferred that the room was cleaned. They only grudingly offered to reverse after I had to reminded them the room was never cleaned at check out.
Review 102:Good location and pool was large and well maintained.
Review 103:The wi-fi worked 5% of the time on the iPad but never on my Mac book pro???
Review 104:Great location, great staff and we asked to stay on a higher floor over looking the mountains and that is exactly what we got! So glad we had a pool to stay cool in the 35 celsius weather, hot tub for the night cap. We will be back!
Review 105:If they can update some of their kitchen appliances like coffee maker and oven toaster!
Review 106:Very nice place, great location! Staffs are friendly and clean room.
Review 107:Studio was very small. Could have used a lazyboy chair. Air conditioning in room and fan in bathroom very loud. Fitness centre should be open 24 hrs per day. (only open 10 to 10)
Review 108:Staff very friendly, helpful and room clean. The WiFi worked well.
Review 109:The amount for the room should include the tax and fee, so there is no surprise when you check out. Very disappointed with Booking.com that the actual price was not displayed. Pool area needs better lounge chairs and some umbrellas. . .no shade. Bed was not that comfortable, almost like a hospital bed. Carpet in first unit we had was worn and very dirty, big stains and the furniture was worn. Second unit was better. Parking at $18.00 PLUS taxes is ridiculous. There is a free lot you can part in walking distance away.
Review 110:The location is wonderful. You are within walking distance to most everything. The pool is nice, although the lounge chairs are very cheap and uncomfortable. The rooms are very different. The first one we had was dirty and awful. We complained and they told us they were completely full. We had to call Booking.com to have them call and then they had a nice room open us! :)
Review 111:The bed was too soft (personal preference I guess) and the WIFI was kind of slow. The TV also didn't have an HDMI port for us to plug in our laptop (to watch a movie).
Review 112:The room was cozy and had a stove-top/fridge/dishwasher for all of our cooking needs. The room was very clean and the hotel itself was very close to the village.
Review 113:-Internet was not very fast, and only one device at a time -Somewhat limited counter space, a bit difficult to cook
Review 114:-Everything was within walking distance -Safe bike storage room -Warm and helpful staff -Studio with kitchen appliances -A/C in the room -Everything was clean and nothing looked outdated -Fairly quiet
Review 115:A $50 cleaning is robbery espically given they only clean your suite every 4 days, so you don't get any cleaning over a 2/3 day stay. Washrooms by the pool area could have been cleaned more frequently, the floor was covered in water for most of the day making very dangerous in flop flops.
Review 116:The hotel is nice and clean. The staff are very friendly. I would recommend this hotel. The pool and sauna are nice.
Review 117:Noise from fan/ air conditioning in one of the bathrooms. Repair person came a couple of times but could not repair it. Unplugging fan did not help - seemed like coming from air conditioning in ceiling. Other than that a pleasant stay.
Review 118:comfortable bed, hot spa and walking distance to everywhere
Review 119:They need to use fitted sheets for the bed. The flat sheet used on the bottom was a battle all night
Review 120:Almost everything Very good experience
Review 121:Kitchenette was disappointing. Stove top worked poorly.
Review 122:Location, washer and dryer
Review 123:The heating was quite loud.
Review 124:The heating was quite nice.
Review 125:Great place to stay, 2 minute walk to the town and then a further 3-4 minutes to the chair lifts up both mountains. Excellent location!
Review 126:The bathroom smelt a bit stale and there was a dead moth on the floor.
Review 127:Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful
Review 128:Parking too expensive Bed super hard Mold in shower
Review 129:Location Room size Hot tub
Review 130:Close to main road, bit noisy in the night.
Review 131:Close to village center.
Review 132:Great value with convienent cooking and a small pool
Review 133:No breakfast, no housekeeping, parking was expensiveno
Review 134:Location and pool
Review 135:The facility was very spacious, clean, and accessible to everything.
Review 136:The kitchen was supplies were dated, coffee pot had no lid, the handle on the knife broken etc.
Review 137:The pool and location great.
Review 138:Everythin
