Reviews for Hotel Villa Vinum Cochem
Review 1:None
Review 2:Beautiful location in Cochem. Easy walk to town center. Charming old hotel with a modern vibe. Comfortable rooms were tastefully furnished. Great wine, great staff, great views of Mosel river and castle. Quiet location, too! Hope to stay here again.
Review 3:Length of stay too short for all there is to see and do.
Review 4:Staff so very friendly and helpful. Villa was very comfortable and roomy. Great experience and loved Cochem
Review 5:An old building with a very modern interior . Free onsite parking. Easy walk to the centre of Cochem. Large room and bathroom with fantastic shower. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice.
Review 6:Our room, number 6, has huge windows with great views of the castle and the river. The breakfast is the best we've had. The staff is friendly and helpful. We wanted for nothing. The house is lovely and the decor is modern, clever, fun and comfortable. Good location too.
Review 7:Wonderful rooms and hotel. Beautiful place. Get recommendations at the hotel where to eat as the places on the waterfront are not so good. (and heads up - no restaurants in Cochem take credit cards)
Review 8:nothing to dislike.
Review 9:Host enjoyable and walm welcome from the host Theo! and staff. most helpful with local knowledge of wines and vineyards. Would highly recommend staying here, and enjoyed meeting other visitors staying there and exchanging stories etc.
Review 10:There is nothing to not like although it might not be suitable for older people as there is no lift.
Review 11:Location was amazing only 10 min walk into town. The room was huge and I loved the shower. The owner was very friendly and helpful and there was free car parking at the hotel as well. Have stayed in Cochem many times wished we had found this hotel sooner.
Review 12:The bathroom was tiny, and the lack of airconditioning could get enoying when it gets very hot. There was a ventilator in the room though.
Review 13:We liked the spacious room with terras overlooking the river. The hotel was newly renovated and had a lot of charm. Located close to the river and city center, with easy free parking. Modest but tastfull breakfast.
Review 14:Great place! We loved the style of this hotel - a mix of desiger furniture, IKEA, antiques and highly personal items in an old lovely building, But what made this a really memorable stay was the owner and manager who was personally involved in his guests well being - I seldomly see anyone loving their job this much and even turning it into a life style as he did. Fantastic to experience! We had a lovely, large room with a coach we would like to take with us home. The bathroom was elegant with a spacious shower. Breakfast was wonderful! We loved everything about it and really reccomends this hotel. We spent two nights here with our friends and were sorry to leave!
Review 15:lovely location, friendly welcome. I was with a group of motorcyclists on tour. It was a hot day. When we arrived the owner greeted us with a bottle of cold larger each. Brilliant !
Review 16:Absolutely nothing
Review 17:Perfect hotel. Absolutely lovely. Just a short walk from the town centre. Beautiful rooms. The whole hotel was immaculate. The proprietor, Theodore was very accommodating and helpful. Best small hotel we have stayed in. Highly recommended
Review 20:We liked the great room with plenty of space, privacy and modern facilities. Our host, Theodore was welcoming & helpful. Breakfast was fresh with a range to tempt the tastebuds.
Review 21:Nothing. We enjoyed our stay!
Review 22:We loved the hotel! Every room was individually furnished. It is beautiful. We asked for a ground floor room and received a beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the Mosel River. The staff was very friendly and Mario was excellent. He was very helpful and gave us names of good restaurants in the area. He was always available. He made us feel part of the family. The bathroom is modern and clean. We will stay in this hotel again if we visit Cochem again.
Review 23:The owner Theodore was incredibly friendly and accommodating, The hotel was decorated in eclectic and quirky style with original artworks and collectable items in The rooms and communal areas.
Review 24:Friendly and helpful staff, good service. Very nice and charming hotel, good feeling all around. We enjoyed a lot our stay and surely can recommend choose Villa Vinum in Cochem.
Review 25:A very small inconvenience -- the bathroom light is on a timer (about 5 minutes). It would have been nice to be able to override the timer in the middle of the night to turn the light off.
Review 26:Relaxing atmosphere; wonderful coffee machine available all day; private & quiet rooms. As quiet as the hotel was, we were surprised to see so many people at breakfast in the morning.
Review 27:I couldn't stay longer!
Review 28:Location was amazing... All the sites and just a block from the river boat hustle and bustle. Rooms were nicely appointed and breakfast tires were flexible with business schedule!
Review 29:Nothing!
Review 30:1. The owner was always on site and responsive, quite welcoming and friendly. He speaks English with such fluency I forgot it was not his first language (a big plus for me, as Ich spreche nur ein wenig Deutsch). He made recommendations on my travel and dining plans, which worked out very well. 2. Room was great (!) with a view of the Reichsburg Cochem castle right out the big windows (If I remember correctly, this was room 6). Spacious room with spacious WC and bath, also very clean. Best of the 4 hotels I stayed in during my "too short" stay in Germany. 3. Location is close to train station, great if you are traveling with luggage. Walk to town center is very short as well (I preferred along the Mosel promenade, worth the walk). No problem accessing Cochem center, trains, or river boats by foot. 4. Having had variable experience with WiFi while traveling in non-business class hotels, I tested the WiFi in the room. It worked great (yeah, better than those business class hotels)!
Review 31:We were were the only guests as we stayed in cochem in Febuary, obviously most people visit the area in the summer and it is a delightful town. The hotel if in a fine position overlooking the river and easy to fine and park. Lovely small hotel, boutique in its decor and styling. We stayed with our baby daughter and there was a lovely crib set up for her in our room. Mario was attentive to our needs and produced a fantastic breakfast for us. The town was very quiet (deserted on the evening!). We had a lovely walk round in spring sunshine and would like to return in the summer when it would be buzzing with street cafes etc...
Review 32:-price vs size of the room (triple-room); -basic breakfast for the price; -wifi weak in some parts of the room;
Review 33:-location; -style; -room decoration;
Review 34:It is a shame there is no lift but my disabled wife would also return .
Review 35:Very welcoming owner and staff. Accommodation spotless and the breakfast choice was huge and of excellent quality. The room was warm and comfortable and the bathroom facilities were 1st class. We would return to this hotel anytime.
Review 36:Great small boutique hotel. Owner was very friendly. It felt very much like staying at someone's home. The hotel matches the character of the town. Charming older building, very comfortable and inviting.
Review 37:Nothing.
Review 38:The location was ideal because it is close to both the train station and old town cochem. Beautiful new rooms and very updated bathrooms. The breakfast was delicious. We had a balcony. The owner really did an excellent job of updating a 125 year old house. The outside of the house is fantastic and there is a quiet patio to enjoy a beverage.
Review 39:Liked the free parking, but lot is tight for larger cars.
Review 40:Spacious, newly renovated room; bathroom facilities outstanding with plenty of space and separate room for toilet and second sink all well-appointed. Strong, fast WiFi signal throughout room. Friendly, helpful staff. Very good breakfast. Many rooms have view of river, castle or both.
Review 41:A little noisy--inside and out. Stuffy. I am used to no air conditioner, but it was not warm outside and the room was stuffy and warm even with the windows all open. I think a fan would have solved some of the noise and stuffiness problem. I know it woul take away from the beauty of the room, but placed in the closet, the guest would be able to use it or leave it in the closet.
Review 42:Lovely greeting. Pretty room. Decent location--easy walk to everything. Very romantic building. Great breakfast. Drove and parking was nice, but it would also be convenient if taking the train or bus.
Review 43:On the presence surcumstances I would prefere to have a room at 2 nd floor. A bit expensive. On the other hand, the host was very generous, tasting vine.
Review 44:Charming and flexibel host. We could taste and bye vin by the host. He also recommend a weinkeeper. Good breakfast. We had a Nice, modern, doubleroom with a balcony, but close to the Street. Could be solved with flowers in boxes on the floor :-)
Review 45:Over-priced-- we expected something especially nice compared to the B&Bs we'd stayed in elsewhere along the Mosel, and we were disappointed. The "suite" we had was just a big room, very nice, but overpriced. The staff sent us to 3 different restaurants that were closed that day; that's the sort of thing they should know. Cochem is small.
Review 46:Nice building, room was spacious, very clean, recently renovated, in fine order. Good breakfast.
Review 47:Can't think of anything to complain about.
Review 48:The staff was very helpful and very nice. Rooms were very large, especially by European standards. Breakfast was very good typicalGerman. We thought we got very good value for the price.
Review 49:Wifi was somewhat unreliable.
Review 50:Spacious and comfortable room in a beautiful old building. Great views towards the river and the castle from the room. Nice and clean bathroom. Excellent breakfast. Very friendly and helpful owner.
Review 51:Perfect location - close to Cochem train station and in walking distance to the centre of the town. Very good breakfast. Large and comfortable rooms. Very attentive owners and great staff. The best hotel stay so far.
Review 52:Riverside location, free onsite parking, immaculately clean and beautiful decor, relaxed homely atmosphere, courteous and hospitable owner and staff. An absolute pleasure to stay here.
Review 53:That i did not have enough time to stay more than one night.
Review 54:Cochem could easily be my heaven. and if is so Hotel Villa Vinum will be my choice of accommodation. Nicely situated so that we could leave the car in their garage and have a good stroll around the area.
Review 55:Loaction was right on river. Room had a view of the Moesl River and Cochem castle. Perfect!
Review 56:Helpful staff. Hotel location.(Near by station) Good wine. Clean and confortable room.
Review 57:Kind professional attentive to detail will return Malcolm.
Review 58:nothing

Review 62:Great location and view, very comfortable and stylish. Fabulous staff.
Review 63:Great location and great views. Very good breakfast.
Review 64:Great little gem of a place, a great host too!
Review 65:No lift- difficult taking luggage and small children to the top of the building.
Review 66:The owners were brilliant, very friendly and helpful.
Review 67:Great location, super-friendly staff. Very helpful to us in planning our days and getting around.
Review 68:Wifi no en el cuarto
Review 69:Tamaño del cuarto. Amabilidad del staff. Decoración
Review 70:The hotel and staff are both excellent , the decor is very trendy but sympathetic to the old building
Review 71:Very kind owner , beautiful, comfortable and large rooms , great breakfast. Quiet neighborhood. We liked.
Review 72:We were unable to lock the door inside
Review 73:Location is great
Review 74:Quiet location, yet fairly central. Generous breakfast
Review 75:On the main road on the Mosel.
Review 76:Ample parking, nice room for the family. Very friendly staff
Review 77:Theodore was fantastic very helpful rooms very nice breakfast great. Great location to explore cochem and close to train station
Review 78:The inn was clean, comfortable and modern. The location was easy to find and close to Cochem landmarks.
Review 79:Wifi signal did not work in the room
Review 80:Lovely room & clean
Review 81:The people, the room, the place....

Review 83:Small and short coverlets
Review 84:The location, the big room, the nice breackfast
Review 85:Central location, (free) parking in front of hotel, spacious room, good breakfast, nicely designed & decorated
Review 86:Spacious rooms, close to train, nice modern furniture. Beautiful historic building, with good breakfact.also very clean bathrooms!
Review 87:a bit noisy at front...early in the morning.
Review 88:Décor and design Size and comfort of room Breakfast friendliness/helpfulness of owner
Review 89:Friendly staff, Theodore very helpful, lovely decor, relaxed friendly atmosphere and good location.
Review 90:Perfect location for our travel connections - lovely town, easy for train travel, fun on the bike trail along the Mosel river. Great hospitality by our hosts, delicious breakfast, large space in our rooms, easy walking distance to a delightful German town.
Review 91:- breakfast is good! - very good location to visit Cochem - clean and comfortable room with balcony facing the river - helpful and nice staff to greet you
Review 92:WiFi was very slow and didn't work all the time. No safe. No fridge. A little disorganised at checkout/payment time but that was overcome, eventually.
Review 93:What a gorgeous building in a perfectly beautiful town. Excellent location. This is a wonderful establishment. Parking is excellent also.
Review 94:Perfect experience across the board. Top notch lodgings, great location, very engaged owners, and the nicest room I experienced over a nine day European romp. Theodor went out of his way to provide (perfect) directions, an early breakfast, and to make sure I received a surprise call from a friend of mine. Great room/people/breakfast. Best value accommodations on my trip.
Review 95:Hotel had poor signage and would have been impossible to identify in the dark.
Review 96:The owner was very welcoming and accommodating. Rooms were quite large, modern, and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was outstanding. Convenient free parking. More like a B&B than a hotel, with nice common spaces in which to relax.
Review 97:Our room was quite small.
Review 98:The staff was very helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was spacious. The hotel is conveniently located and an easy walk to the market square.
Review 99:Third floor and no elevator can be a bit hard but it was no big deal. The GPS has problems finding the hotel since the parking is on the other side of the building.
Review 100:I really liked the couple running the hotel (Monica and Theo) The hotel itself is a wonderful piece of art. When we arrived to the hotel they had a slight problem: Overbooked....... They asked us very politely wether we could consider staying in their apartment on the top floor for the same cost as a hotelroom? we looked at the facility and said yes immideately. We had a quite large apartment for ourselves with nice view and so on. Even if there was some personal stuff remaining it felt like ours. Unfortunately we only booked one night though this was on our way home to Sweden but we will dfinitely consider coming again.
Review 101:Breakfast was at 8;30 which is much too late for many travelers who need to get going. No elevator which may be a problem for some travelers
Review 102:Good location near train station. Our room was pleasant and quiet and was on the back side of the hotel. The front rooms face the Mosel but also a busy road
Review 103:A bit pricey Internet only worked in lobby area
Review 104:Excellent location midway between the train station and city center and close to both. Great breakfast Nice boutique hotel with modern interior design and décor but stately Tudor exterior. Ted is a great innkeeper focused on meeting your needs and providing a personal touch.
Review 105:There's no lift and quite a few steps outdoors as well, but we got a room on the first floor and therefore we were ok with taking the buggy.
Review 106:The hotel is located within walking distance (10 Minutes) from the old town of Cochem and within reach of a good choice of restaurants and a small supermarket. The old wine-merchant's villa has been tastefully renovated by the helpful owners and the rooms and bathrooms are spacious and we even had a balcony. We were very well looked after and the deliciously fresh breakfast alone is a good reason to come back for.
Review 107:Very very hot !! Be careful in the summer type. We could not sleep all night die to the heat and specially due to the loft room.
Review 108:Very charming place with excellent staff
Review 109:Property may benefit to have a lift.
Review 110:Monica and Theo the owners were very attentive to their guests, in every aspect necessary ,to provide an excellent stay. Breakfast was a very enjoyable experience , food was of a very high standard , and varied from day to day. Information on surrounding areas of interest ,was given in a very comprehensive manner, making it easy to venture out and experience new places.
Review 111:Well where do i start!! A little hard to find at first as the name was not on the building but once inside what a delight. Our hosts Monica & Theo were so welcoming we were a little taken back.Theo took the cases up stairs for us as there is no lift we were so gratefull. Our room was huge with a balcony over looking the Mosel. Breakfast had a huge selection the best ever. We were five minutes walk from town & the same to the station we would highly recommend Villa Villum.
Review 112:My wife and I have travelled extensively around the world and stayed in some super hotels. The Villa Vinum has put a number of these hotels to shame! Monica and Theo were friendly, considerate and charming. The ambience of the hotel was very good, the fittings and furnishings excellent, the room sizes excellent and the breakfast was first class. It is a challenge now for other hotels, even one where we return on an annual basis, to meet the standard of the accommodation that Monica and Theo have created.
Review 113:Theo and his wife were accessible and helpful. They provided excellent guidance on where to eat and other activities. We felt very comfortable and welcome. The breakfast was filling and the location was perfect! Located on the Mosel, with beautiful views of the charming village and castle. The rooms were spotless and updated. Wouldn't hesitate to return.
