Reviews for Blackcomb Lodge by Whistler Premier
Review 1:We left our room around 12:30 pm. And came back around 7 pm and room wasn't clean. Nobody came to our room even i left the sign outside the room to be cleaned
Review 2:What I liked the best it was located right in the village And easy access to everything
Review 3:The heater unit was like having a jet engine in our room! Extremely load and very poor controls for regulating the temperature. Overnight parking charge is only good until 3:00pm which sucks when the ski lifts don't close till 3:00
Review 4:Great location.
Review 5:The unit was supposedly a 1 bedroom with a loft. In reality, the bedroom was not able to be closed-off from the living room. (Sliding doors didn't slide, and one wall didn't go up to the ceiling.) So, no privacy for the parents. The bed was a double not a King size, as advertized. The mattress was awful. (Springs could be felt.) The ensuite shower barely worked. (Water trickled, at best, and the pipes banged and caused the trickle to stop entirely.) The two TVs required multiple remote controls (which were highly unintuitive - ridiculous, actually). And the microwave didn't work.
Review 6:Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location was very good. Parking was easy (underground.) Close to everything (shops, restaurants, etc.) in Whistler Village.
Review 7:Total party lodge. Partying happened all night in the hallways and had several knocks on our door by young guests to see if we wanted to join.
Review 8:The staff was kind
Review 9:it is noisy because it is in the centre. the duvet was too small for the duvet cover and bed and the indoor pool/hot tub has a sharp floor which scratched/cut all my little girls feet.
Review 10:good location in the heart of whistler, the loft suites are great for the family of 4. which include a kitchenette, we brought our slow cooker and it was great to have a home made stew after a day on the slopes.staff were friendly!
Review 11:After room service still dirt on the floor, Not very comfy for 4 to watch a family movie.
Review 12:Great location & swimming pool great for the kids, whilst I relaxed in the hot tub!!
Review 13:TV not working and both of them in very awkward spots to watch. Two out of three bedside lamps did not work bec of broken switches. Not at all sound proof--VERY noisy neighbours on BOTH sides of us
Review 14:Location & staff, both reception and the 'bellman' were excellent--friendly and helpful
Review 15:Rooms are way to hot, air conditioning is sooo loud, beds uncomfortable, very noisy at night, don't expect any vista views!!
Review 16:location & close to everything
Review 17:It was handy having the snowboard storage facility however 2 out of the 5 boards we had stored where chipped and scratched.
Review 18:Location was absolutely perfect for what we wanted. The room was great for a couple with 2 friends.
Review 19:had only one small bottle of shampoo and lotion in the bathroom
Review 20:most of the staff were nice - allowed late check out (1 hr extension) without additional charge...location is at the centre of Whistler Village...nice view...highly recommended but book very early to get the best rate
Review 21:The room was on the first floor overlooking the village main concourse which was very busy at night and we were often woken by drunken revellers in the early hours of the morning.
Review 22:Location was perfect and the room was excellent. We spent 6 nights at Blackcomb Lodge and we will definitely go back
Review 23:- When we asked for an extra duvet cover, they charged us $10.00
Review 24:- The loft set up was perfect for multiple couples to stay in the same room. - It was very centrally located
Review 25:Nothing
Review 26:We absolutely loved the room, view, location, and overall experience. The staff were very helpful and informed. They helped us pick a room that suited our needs and we're happy to help with all questions. The room was gorgeous and the view was stunning. It's also a big plus that the entrance was right in the middle of the village. I'm going to suggest this hotel to everyone I know.
Review 27:Nothing bad to say about this place.
Review 28:The location was perfect! It was great that the room had a full kitchen. Room was clean. Bed and sofa bed were really comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Review 29:The single bed mattresses were UNCOMFORTABLE!!! A few environmental stains on the walls.
Review 30:Location was excellent. Staff was friendly. Available space in the room was great. Kitchen was clean and well stocked.
Review 31:We had to leave a day earlier and we were charged cancellation fees for this night. Instead the regular cost we had booked. We find it neither fair nor good business manners.:(
Review 32:We slept real well in your beds. quiet. clean. location and the view from our window
Review 33:The carpet and washroom floor was not clean. The tissues in the washroom were not re-stocked. I had to put on the dishwasher on for all the dishes to be washed because of questionable dishes. The mini fridge was not clean, it still has food crusts on the edges. The accommodation website didn't make it clear that they have to take a deposit fee of $250 in order to stay in. Also, it guaranteed that they do not charge credit card once booked, but already did, just in case you want a different option of paying. The facility doesn't take interac. They offer parking of $18.90 (discounted) but is under another management, full price is $20, credit only. There are other parking available that is for a lesser price 1 minute walk across, $5 overnight, credit only.
Review 34:The pool is very clean, and doesn't have strong chlorine smell. Towels are well supplied with baskets accessible. Washroom/ Dressing/ Shower room access is well-maintained.
Review 35:Everything in general is used and old. There was a blood stain on the ceiling with what looked like hair. Our closet was full of fans and chairs we needed removed. The bed old and so uncomfortable. They say twin size that looked like a single to me.
Review 36:Location
Review 37:There were two dirty glasses that were not replaced before I checked in.
Review 38:The bedding was comfortable. The room was spacious. I appreciated having a little fridge and toaster in the room.
Review 39:The $500 damage deposit we had to pay! Makes it hard when you are travelling when it takes 3-5 business days to lift
Review 40:The bed was amazing and the bath! The location was great.
Review 41:Room needed some repairs. Cracked mirror and window. Suite 219.
Review 42:The front counter staff, the lofty feel of the suite but most of all the location. Right in the heart of the village.
Review 43:Very noisy building not only occupants but location as well. Not people partying but just talking noise, doors, water running and garbage truck on sunday morning at 8am.
Review 44:clean. comfortable.
Review 45:- There wasn't an oven tray to make it easier to use the oven. - No paper towels - No cable - Very small freezer
Review 46:- The beds were comfortable. - The staff were nice. - It's location was good for walking around the lower village. - The room was clean and displayed well.
Review 47:Check out time at 10:00am is unrealistic with our family with kids on vacation. When I asked for a later check out time 12:00pm the front desk gave us 10:30am.
Review 48:Location was awesome.
Review 49:Cups and glasses were dirty/chipped. The cleaners looked like they didn't care at all.
Review 50:The check in staff and manager (all Australians) were fantastic.
Review 51:Didn't appreciate the 10 am check out. Also was not aware of $10 'booking fee'? For both of these issues was just told that 'everyone in Whistler does it' Unit could have been cleaner (especially the floors) No table or chairs to eat from.
Review 52:We were able to get an early check in. Nice to have twin bed option along with king and sofa bed which was very comfortable.
Review 53:Our room w As above the delivery entrance. We were abruptly awoken by the early deliveries. Parking was an additional $18/night !!
Review 54:Location, clean well maintained.
Review 55:Upon arrival in our room, found the kitchenette had a residue all over the appliances, sink and cabinets as though cleaning staff had wiped everything with a greasy cloth:( Thankfully there was dish soap, hot water and cloths to wipe everything down to clean. Loft area had a coating of dust on side tables as well...cleaning staff seemed to do a real rush job unfortunately:(
Review 56:The room layout was PERFECT for a group of friends sharing a room... 2 singles on the main, 2 singles in a second floor loft! Great location! Kitchenette with dishwasher, bar fridge, microwave, full size stove and dishes!
Review 57:I would have liked our room to have been freshened up the second day. The bedspread was pulled up and garbage emptied. That was it. Also the pool was pathetic. Low water level ment no filtering was occurring.
Review 58:Location was fabulous
Review 59:That quiet time was 10, most places I have been to quiet time was 11. I thought was early considering that the village was quite busy still at 10.
Review 60:that you could walk out of the hotel right into the village,
Review 61:Grossly understaffed. No housekeeping service 2 out of 4 days. No towels in pool area and long time to get replaced. Place would be much better if hired more staff.
Review 62:Excellent location, nice space for food prep.
Review 63:The hotel can certainly use some higher quality sheets, pillows, and are in desperate need of pillowtop mattresses or memory foam toppers.
Review 64:Proximity to restaurants, stores, ski lifts
Review 65:The wifi connection was poor! We had to log out and log in several times and at times it didn't work at all. I talked to one of the staff members before leaving and he told me he was sorry and that we could've requested another password. Other than that, everything was great!
Review 66:The location is perfect! Everything is close by, the stores,,restaurants and the gondolas are less than 10mins away. The room was very spacious and it had everything you need. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Review 67:Both nights there were loud parties down our corridor despite there being a 'quiet after 10pm' policy. Loud noise til 3am! Our room wasn't made up either.
Review 68:The location was excellent for being right in the heart of the village.
Review 69:As others mentioned, air conditioners are terrible. There are fans too but it's still very hot . No air flow because of very few windows. Towels are like sand papers.
Review 70:Location. Very center of Whistler Village but still quiet. Everything you need are walk distance. Kitchen has minimum equipment. If your budget is low, this is the hotel in Whistler area.
Review 71:Parking always difficult in Whistler. Parking available at hotel but (0f course) expensive. .
Review 72:Well equipped kitchenette room, clean and comfortable. Fantastic location - step out of the lobby into main square Whistler with its party atmosphere and many attractions.
Review 73:Noise - get a top floor room because if not people above will keep you awake Washing dryer broken but front desk did the drying for free. Choose your holiday time carefully - if older don't go during "Crankweek" (downhill mountain biking week) as the majority of the guests are young and don't care about the other guests - very, very noisy and rude. Stay in Upper Village if you want peace and quiet!
Review 74:Location to shops, restaurants and town facilities. Staff Wifi very good
Review 75:Our room was a very odd shape squeezed into the corner, no balcony, while the other rooms on this side did, so a little disappointing as the other rooms over looked the plaza, while we couldn't really see out! Not a big issue! Lack of Wifi was more of a problem in this room!
Review 76:Good location and friendly helpful staff.
Review 77:Dirty dirty dirty. Red stains on lamp shade, hair in bathtub, Hand prints on window, sticky spots on floor and wall, not vacuumed, fuzzy cable, bad AC, hot loft
Review 78:Manager was good at helping us sort our room and help compensate for dirty room. Location great.
Review 79:Air conditioning wasn't functioning correctly so the room was a little warm! A little pricy for the August long weekend holiday
Review 80:Great for a family with older children. Private master suite plus loft and sofa bed for kids Well stocked kitchen Great central location
Review 81:The room we were in had old air conditioners that were not working properly and it was 30+ degrees outside. We slept in our undies
Review 82:Staff were friendly and helpful and the location was great
Review 83:Hotel doesn't have the proper air conditioning like other hotels have ! Don't stay there in the summer you'll die from heat exhaustion
Review 84:Nothing don't stay there ! Drove all the way from Calgary to stay in whistler and picked the wrong hotel !!
Review 85:The highest setting on the air conditioning was not nearly high enough to cool down that large space of the room with three young children running around it was uncomfortably warm. The carpet was fraying and had a staple stick out which I almost cut my foot on.
Review 86:It was great that there was a kitchenette. The location was great, right in the heart of the Olympic Village and right across from a grocery store. The pool/sauna/hot tub area was small but clean.
Review 87:Single sized beds were given instead of twin, queen or king size for a couple to sleep on, elevator is from 1900s, room size was congested, pool was tiny could not breath there.
Review 88:Phone not working.
Review 89:Location and room was excellent. Staff very helpful. TV would not work and clerk came to room, but unable to get it working and arranged for technition.
Review 90:soooo cheap, booked only a two or three weeks before, super excellent hotel in general. i was thinking there must b something wrong with it it was so cheap.
Review 91:We stay two nights, and put the tips on the room table, tips away, but, The kitchen and toilet didn't clean up the rubbish,I told the customer service, But until we leave, no one came to clearing up the rubbish.
Review 92:No Air con only an air regenerator which does not work in 30+ degrees heat. Fans were provided but didn't do that much Maybe invest a little in portable air con units
Review 93:Location and staff very friendly and helpful
Review 94:We stayed here in the summer. (1) The A/C was useless. The room was so hot that none of us (four adults and one child) could sleep well. It was explained to us that the A/C doesn't work well because Whistler is "primarily a winter resort". (2) The pool is a small, plain affair in the basement with no windows. Fine if there are not many users.
Review 95:Front desk staff were friendly, the location was great, the layout of the room was acceptable.
Review 96:There was dirt all along the floor boards. Cleaners are clearly not moving furniture and accessories when cleaning. While we were out for the day the cleaners came but only emptied the garbage and recycling they didn't replace the wash clothes that were placed in the tub as the sign said to do and I had to call for more toilet paper at 1130 at night. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and I left with very little sleep after the weekend.
Review 97:The location of the hotel is perfect for strolling and accessing the village.
Review 98:Euh??? Oke, it's not a total 5 star... but close...
Review 99:Location, location... Very close to public transport (just a footstep away), amidst the town and a great staff.
Review 100:No table to sit at to eat meals.
Review 101:Free upgrade given as original room not ready on arrival. Use of pool (though small) and sauna.lGood value at off season rate paid.
Review 102:Need to dust in the corners and the bottom of the coffee table. We dropped something off the coach and had to dig around in the corner and pull out the couch and chair. Rest of the place was spotless!
Review 103:Central location. Friendly staff.
Review 104:Great price and location. Room very clean and comfortable. Close to restaurants and shops. Hot tub and pool very clean and well looked after. Vaulted ceiling and roomy bathroom. Toaster and microwave and kettle and coffee maker were supplied as well as a good sized mini fridge.
Review 105:It was ridiculously hot in the rooms even with the air con on fullblast. We were there for a stagette so we would have liked to have 2adjoining rooms but at least we got rooms side by side. The worst partwas, I had asked (in advance) how much the total cost of the both roomswould be (as I was budgeting the amount of $ that I was requesting fromthe rest of the party). They only quoted me the price of one of therooms so I had to pay an extra $185 at check out that I was notexpecting...they reviewed all the messages between myself and the hoteland they still did not honor the price they had quoted they just stated"someone made a mistake, sorry but this is your total cost".Not impressed.
Review 106:The staff were friendly and they were able to accommodate 2 roomsside by side.
Review 107:The lift was very slow!! Had to pay for parking!!!
Review 108:We stayed here for the weekend as we were running the whistler half marathon. The hotel had a pool which the kids loved and we used the hot tub! Happy days!! Car park right underground too.
Review 109:Noise, room overlooking village, which is great during the day, but at night, the noise of people partying is easily heard unil 2 or 3 in the morning, very difficult to sleep.
Review 110:Large room with full kitchen
Review 111:Parking is $18. Damage deposit of $250. Really no room to walk when hide-a-bed was out. Rooms facing the courtyard can be quite noisy with all the foot traffic and restaurants.
Review 112:King bed was nice
Review 113:The Internet was very intermittent other than that it was great.
Review 114:Whistler is an amazing place to visit and the location of the Blackcomb lodge is fantastic. Right on the village square. Surrounded by activities and shops. Very busy but they have a no noise policy after 10h30pm so it becomes silent. Staff really great and extreemly helpful. They were from Australia and New Zealand. Great folks. Absolutely wonderful stay. Would defiantly go back there
Review 115:You don't get more central than at Blackcomb Lodge. You're in the thick of all the action, without hearing the aftermath. We stayed in a studio suite and it offered everything we needed. We found the kitchen really for making a quick meal.
Review 116:Our room was right above the hotel's loading dock and garbage bin area. Extremely noisy early in the morning (7 AM) with trucks coming and going and unloading. I would anyone who can wee this area form a window in their room to request a different room!! It ruined the experience!!!!
Review 117:Hotel was good
Review 118:The hotel was obviously a typical party hotel with noise until late. Though the staff warned us to call them if people were up late we were too tired to the second night. The room was very warm so we opened the window but outside in the square people partied until 3am. Not the hotel you want for peace and quiet for sure.
Review 119:The location - perfect location, right in the heart of Whistler village. The room itself was pretty cute and nice to be on a corner.
Review 120:This was NOT a bad experience but a few more items to prepare a simple meal would be a help.
Review 121:Central location in village is great. Get off the airport transfer or other bus and you are a few feet from the hotel entrance. They assure you they are interested in your need of a good sleep so they will deal with any disturbances and they go after your return business in the best way.
Review 122:The extra fee to park underground was disappointing, and the strange shape of our particular room made it hard for a second person to watch TV, from a chair. I think most rooms have a better floor plan.
Review 123:The location was excellent - within walking distance of the MY Millennium Place gallery where the Sacred Headwaters Art Show is. The fridge and microwave were very handy. Great hot water - good shower. We booked through Booking.com which gave us a good rate. Close to great food and coffee.
Review 124:The room wasn't the best. First, our room view was blocked by a tall tree and we were in the shade. 2nd, we were a group of 3, yet there were no blankets or pillows for the sofa bed. Additionally, the king bed had only 2 small square pillows. 3rd, housekeeping aren't paying attention because the alarm clock was found on the floor and covered in dust, under the night stand table and there was a jar of cosmetic cream under the bed from a previous occupant.
Review 125:The location is superb, right in the heart of the village. Staff were quick to rectify the shortcomings of the room's amenities such as bringing needed blankets and pillows and providing a different wifi code when the code given at check-in didn't work.
Review 126:Bit noisy but I'd rather have that and be close to things than quiet and out if town!
Review 127:Everything snow lovers need - close to lifts, close to bars/clubs, plenty of hot water, great kitchen for quick meals, safe ski storage, clean and comfortable.
Review 128:Kitchen utensils are not a complete set, missing scope for picking up noodles. Wifi is intermittent, often dropped connection. Bed is not comfortable. Somebody was making huge noise the last night we stay for about 10 minutes.
Review 129:Location is great, right in the heart of the village
Review 130:Cleanliness let the place down and poor attention to detail. We had three forks in a seven person room. No sugar for drinks, nor salt sachets were left by housekeeping, and only two towels. Had many trips to front desk for basics that should be in the room
Review 131:Location and room was fine, staff were friendly enough.
Review 132:Our room was right across from the elevator so it was fairly noisy when other guests returned from their evening out. Normally not a big deal, yet we were traveling with a baby who's a light sleeper. Floors looked like they weren't swept.
Review 133:Loft is an excellent set up if you're traveling with children (or adults!) who go to bed early. There are two single beds up top.
Review 134:Parking lot had no "watch your step" sign and I fell down
Review 135:Everything was excellent Catherine, with the French accent, made us feel at home, helped out with anything we asked for
Review 136:We were at the end of the building and there was lots of noise from people walking in the village.
Review 137:The bed was super comfy. We had a small, but well equipped room.
Review 138:Thought to beds/towels could've been changed a lil more frequently.
Review 139:Lovely, staff were helpful and you step outside and you are literally IN the village, with bars, liquoratore and iga at your door. Best location ever.
Review 140:Housekeeping badly let them down..daily bedmaking did not happen nor did cleaning of bathroom.facility avaiable for skies and boards but a challenge getting rest of ski gear dry in room.
Review 141:Room was warm although lighting poor.kitchen adequately set up and having a dishwasher a real plus. A table to eat at would have been nice instead of just a coffee table.Lovely fresh towels daily.good storage for clothing.
Review 142:Our room was surrounded by room parties. The Location was great but not ideal for a family. Very thin walls so we heard everything from loud music and partying from the room across the hall to the very loud snoring of the guest staying in the room next door. Lots of drunk people stumbling around too!
Review 143:Whilst room was clean to a basic level, the housekeeping left something to be desired with beds sometimes not being made properly / room not being tidied and no idea when room was going to be serviced. Hotel ski room didn't have any boot dryers which is a bit of a disappointment in a ski resort.
Review 144:The hotel was in an excellent location, next to village square and most amenities. Hot tub / spa facilities were a good standard and hotel staff were generally helpful.
