Reviews for Shipwright Inn
Review 1:Charming B & B in Old Charlottetown. The hosts are wonderfully welcoming and most helpful with directions, things to do, etc. Everything spotlessly clean. Breakfast is both delicious and beautifully presented.
Review 2:Nothing at all.
Review 3:Historic home, great residential location just off the downtown main. Most friendly and accomodating innkeepers made my business trip a highlight overnight stay.
Review 4:The location is ideal for access to charming downtown Charlottetown. Staff is welcoming and friendly. My boyfriend and I were particularly delighted with the superb breakfast and afternoon tea. We would certainly stay again.
Review 5:Our queen + single room was cosy, comfortable and well equipped. The included breakfast a minor feast, absolutely delicious. Trevor and Judy Pye are delightful hosts.
Review 6:There's no reason our room couldn't accommodate a queen bed.
Review 7:Excellent breakfast! Good location, close to restaurants, theatres, and waterfront.
Review 8:Everything. We were on a 10-day trip through the Maritimes, and picked the Shipwright as the one really special place where we were going to stay. It totally lived up to expectations.
Review 9:The Shipwright Inn is within walking distance of everything I did in Charlottetown. The owners were very helpful when it came to recommending things to do. They accommodated my allergy and the breakfasts were excellent.
Review 10:Everything about the Shipwright Inn was outstanding. My wife and I have been traveling in the Maritme Provences for nearly a month, and the Shipwright was easily the best place we have stayed. The owners, staff and facilities were all terrific.
Review 11:The room was large, extremely clean, quiet and had beautiful antiques. Gourmet breakfast was served at the table, lots of extras. Service impeccable. Trevor is knowledgeable, very friendly and helpful. He provided maps and advice. We will definitely stay again.
Review 12:Slightly noisy window air conditioner but we ended up not needing to sleep with it on.
Review 13:Beauty and location of the property, and breakfasts were awesome.
Review 14:There are no complaints about this property from us.
Review 15:From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. Nothing was a bother. Afternoon tea was available with little cakes provided. The room was large and beautifully decorated. Breafast fantastic.
Review 16:We wish we could have stayed another night but our travel plans pushed us along.
Review 17:People: Couldn't have been nicer. Breakfast staff was particularly bright and sunny. Accommodations: Very relaxed--not at all stuffy. Homey. Location: It was an easy walk to an active downtown restaurant and pub scene.
Review 18:Wifi a little intermittent the last day and there was no place to sit comfortably in this heat wave. The AC only covered the bedroom.
Review 19:The people were great, the room was gorgeous and the location was super.
Review 20:. I emailed T & J to say that our 17 year old was with us. This resulted in a $30.00 additional fee. Ok. But when we arrived, there were only towels for two. If you are going to charge us for the third person, don’t make me get extra towels. The exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work. As we were only staying one night, I didn’t bother out hosts, but by the time the third of us showered, the room was wet and the mirror completely fogged over. Internet didn’t work, but a simple router reboot by Trevor fixed that. Our mattress was old and soft, whereas the sofa bed was old and spiny. None of us got the best of sleep.
Review 21:It is very pretty outside and warm and inviting inside. Judy and Trevor are both friendly and helpful with anything that you might need during your stay. They know the area well and have lots of valuable suggestions. We took Trevor’s dinner suggestion (Water Prince) and had a great time. The Inn is very close to the action in downtown Charlottetown – a short walk. The inn is quite clean and the breakfast is particularly nice. The young ladies who served breakfast were cheerful.
Review 22:My only negative was the pillows were too hard.
Review 23:So pretty and welcoming! Our room was spacious and lovely. The breakfast was to-die-for - so, so good. Also, walking to downtown was just around the corner with lots of restaurants to choose from.
Review 24:There is absolutely nothing not to like. Staff is great. Food is phenomenal (breakfast daily). Room is clean, comfortable and well stocked.
Review 25:Everything was top notch! Breakfast is an experience to look forward to every day. The room is cleam, comfortable, well-stocked, and has a lot of character. The staff is very friendly and genuine. We love this B&B!
Review 26:There was nothing we didn't like.
Review 27:Our flight was delayed out of Montreal and we arrived long after the check in deadline. We called explaining the situation and they went out of their way to accommodate us. Would definitely stay there again
Review 28:Not limited to this location - what is needed is a convient outlet to plug in all those "devices" that need charging.
Review 29:Location - accessible yet secluded
Review 30:We had the Chart room which has a very small bed by necessity because of the layout of the windows, fireplace, etc. It took a bit of getting used to, but it was manageable. If a bed is an issue for you, you may want to make a different selection
Review 31:Trevor and Judy have used the history well to provide a lovely ambience to this inn. The antiques are great, but everything else provides a wonderful place to visit Charlottetown. Welcoming, full of advice, fabulous breakfast and a terrific staff. We enjoyed it thoroughly
Review 32:I guess the walk up the stairs to our room was good for us.
Review 33:Trevor and Judy Our spacious and comfortable room Our delicious and abundant meals A very convenient location but on a quiet street

Review 35:The location was one block from the major tourist attractions in downtown Charlottetown. The service. The food. The comfy room
Review 36:The Innkeepers spent time with us to answer questions about PEI and suggest worthwhile things to see we would not likely have found via Internet search. We enjoyed the visit.

Review 42:The Inn Keepers, Judy and Trevor own this wonderful 150 year old home and treat their guests like family. It would be hard to imaginei even dedicated staff reaching the the level of service received. The breakfasts are superb, and there is a great selection of gourmet teas and coffees available along with various cake treats for the mid afternoon snack.
Review 43:-ship themed decor, lots of public space, lovely spacious dining room and good home cooked hot breakfast. This Inn is very centrally located in quiet area of town.
Review 44:Our room was cozy and well decorated with antiques and nautical-themed art and items. The building itself has been beautifully restored and renovated and retains a 19th century character. Inn keeper Judy was friendly and we very much enjoyed our conversation with her.
Review 45:The first breakfast of our stay was a great balance of fresh fruit, protein and bread. The second one was short on protein and high on sugar. Presentation on both meals, however, was lovely.
Review 46:The turn of the century charm of this B&B made it an especially enjoyable stay. The hosts were very knowledgeable and accommodating. The rooms were especially large, well appointed and comfortable.
Review 47:There wasn't anything we didn't like.
Review 48:The Shipwright Inn is a truly beautiful, well restored heritage home Our room was lovely and so were the common rooms. Tea and coffee and goodies were available after three. The owners and staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. We were allowed to check-in a bit early and check-out a bit late. This really made our connections much easier. They let us use a scale to weigh our luggage and called a cab for us to take us to the airport. Gourmet breakfast was very tasty and wonderfully served. Location was a perfect walk to the downtown core. The only thing we were sorry about was that we had to fly home and couldn't stay an extra night!
Review 49:Chef can be a little heavy-handed with the salt at breakfast.

Review 53:Nothing! It was perfect!
Review 54:This is the best place I've ever been to. The innkeepers, Judy and Trevor, cannot do enough to help their guests. The hotel is a beautifully renovated old house typical of Charlotteville. It is elegant yet homey and the attention to detail is incredible. The nautical theme was very interesting and amusing! The breakfasts were delicious. I just say enough about this place!
Review 55:The inn was a bit warm for our liking. Even though we left our windows open at night and the temperatures were cool outside, it felt stuffy in our room.
