Reviews for Moselstern Hotel Brixiade &Triton
Review 1:I had intended to use the pool and sauna but would have had to go outside in the rain to the building next door!! Therefore I didn't bother. The fridge wasn't working. Although I mentioned it twice,it wasn't fixed and I was unable to have cold drinks.
Review 2:Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. When I asked to have the window and shower fixed they were. Room was very quiet.
Review 3:In general we were very happy during our stay in this hotel. Only thing to mention maybe the staff couldn't explain how to go to Cochem castle by car or foot, she told to take the shuttle bus, although by foot the castle is only 5-10 mins walk from the market square.
Review 4:The hotel is located just in front of the Mosel river. Free parking is available just beside the hotel for the guests. If you find it full you can park in the street in front for only 1 euro per 2h. Indoor swimming pool and sauna is available.Very nice breakfast. The hotel has 4 star standard. After 10 pm you have to exit from the basement using your room card.
Review 5:Lobby full of cigaret smoke. It felt like going to the pub.
Review 6:The view of the castle is unbelievable. Clean sheets and comfortable bed with large window and little balcony which helped to absorb the view of cochem and its castle.
Review 7:Lots of reviews about slow internet....yes, it was slow, but we were there to enjoy ourselves and having a slow internet connection was not an issue.
Review 8:Location, view and the wonderful town of Cochem. I highly recommend room 29 not only for the view but the amazing balcony.
Review 9:Did not had room type available which was booked but gpt sorted it oit. Room was actually on a different hotel next, to Moselstern hotel and thats why wifi codes did not work. Bit worn out and aged but still clean.
Review 10:Good location and beautiful river views.
Review 11:The hotel does NOT have any AC anywhere. We could not use our room until after the sun went down (9:30 pm). Even then it was over 30 C in our room almost the entire night. Went to bed covered in wet towels to try and cool off. Surly breakfast personnel forcing us to sit at their choice of table with the breakfast room almost empty. Terrace was dirty (not swept or hosed down once while we were there) and furniture old, broken, and uncomfortable. The chair pads were worn and bleached into colorlessnes by the sun. Wifi mostly non-accessible and sooo slow. It is clear that most attention is paid to tour groups. Dinner was bad and expensive. Even though we guaranteed our reservation by Amex the hotel refused to take Amex to pay the bill. This cost me money. The bathroom had one piece of soap the size of a quarter and this for our entire stay. Woefully inadequate. The pool has no supervision and rowdy ill bred children made it hazardous for other (older) guests. This is not a four star hotel. It is a passé place due a renovation in which climate control should have priority. The most desirable rooms, view wise, are located on the south side of the building. The hotel is well aware that their lack of AC is a problem looking at the warnings posted in the room on how to keep the heat down. Nevertheless the curtains are thin and have no thermal capabilities. The hotel also felt understaffed.
Review 12:The view was magnificent: right across from the Reichsburg. Very nice extensive breakfast. Nicely located outside terrace. Fairly short walk to the Altstadt. Gorgeous flower boxes on every balcony. Check in was courteous and fast. Although there is no bell boy, two waiters willingly assisted with our luggage.
Review 13:Did not have a bad experience, but reception desk staff could have been a little more warm and welcoming.
Review 14:Location, room + balcony and very good breakfast
Review 15:The shower didn't have a lip around it so water went all over the bathroom floor.
Review 16:The room was nice although small and had a balcony that looks over the river. The staff was very accommodating with breakfast and parking.
Review 17:Really expenses room with view on rooftops. Small room and small bathroom with only a bathtub with shower. Old-fashioned interior
Review 18:Breakfast was ok but for vegetarians or people who don't like bread, there were less options
Review 19:Restaurant closes at 9PM and has no English menu; they cancelled our key at 10AM, even though check-out was at 11AM which caused us to loose time;
Review 20:Excelent location with view of castle and river; confortable room and good breakfast
Review 21:The fact that my room key never worked once I left the room. I had to get a new one every time.
Review 22:The weather, views and pleasantly quaint this place was...
Review 23:There was an extremely noisy music event taking place on the river frontage by the hotel on the Saturday night while we were staying, with live music until 1am. Without air conditioning, we needed to sleep with the window/patio access open and that meant we were kept awake. Although the room was non smoking, smokers in the neighbouring rooms were smoking on their balconies and the smoke drifted into our room. Breakfast was a scrum with a large noisy party group staying for the weekend. The breakfast itself was fine.
Review 24:The location on the river frontage was excellent with a great view. Access to the town centre was an easy walk across the bridge.
Review 25:I would ask for a room towards the rear of the hotel next time to avoid the noise of late clubs.
Review 26:Staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly, the hotel is spotlessly clean, and the food first class.
Review 27:No information given about parking fee in the garage down under the hotel.
Review 28:Very nice hotel with our room showing an excellent view over the river, the castle and old town. Nice breakfeast also.
Review 29:Very good hotel, feb location opposite the castle. We had a heat room on the 4th floor, breakfast had a very good selection & very friendly staff. We shall be returning.
Review 30:Lack of air-con anywhere in hotel. Even breakfast was stuffy and humid. Not being able to charge drinks to room. WiFi was abysmal. Don't advertise wifi if you can't supply a decent service.
Review 31:Room was very clean and spacious Excellent choice of food for breakfast Secure parking
Review 32:The rooms were very hot due to no air conditioning which I would have expected from a hotel so large. The WiFi was exceptionally poor and should be upgraded - there is no excuse for poor WiFi it is after all 2014.
Review 33:Good location for exploring Cochem and its many bars and restaurants. Very clean and tidy good room facilities except for in hot weather. Excellent that the hotel let us park the motorbikes in the underground garage. Great breakfast and decent prices in the hotel bar.

Review 69:Advertise free wifi in all area. That is not true. intermittent wifi was available in the lobby only. No wifi in the room. Dinner there was a HUGE disappointment, not only was the food a disappointment but the service was very substandard.

Review 75:We stayed here just for one night, the hotel is very nice. We arrived quite late and just in time for the buffet which was really good. Nice staff, good comfy room and easy parking
Review 76:Almost all the personnel doesn't speak english. The room was below the standards for a 4 stars, above all the bathroom. The room was cleaned in the late afternoon. The gym was not a Gym and also difficult to use. There wasn't any swimming pool.
Review 77:Cochem is nice for a short and very relaxed vacation.
Review 78:I found nothing to dislike about the hotel.
Review 79:Very nice hotel with very friendly staff. It is right on the Moselle with a quiet road in front of the hotel and a great view of the castle on the other side of the river.
