Reviews for Parkhotel Cochem
Review 1:Restaurant meal prices were a little expensive.
Review 2:We enjoyed our stay at the Parkhotel. The en suite room was of a good size and very clean and comfortable with tea making facilities and free wifi. The centre of Cochem was a pleasant 10/15 minute riverside walk away. Breakfast was of a good standard and included both Continental and cooked choices.
Review 3:We stayed at the Park Hotel for 5 nights and used it as a base for exploring the Mosel Valley and environs. The check-in was easy and Petra was very helpful. It's a great location, just a few blocks (15-20 minute walk) or a short drive into Cochem. The room is the best we've had on a long Europe trip. The room is large and has 7 foot window "doors" that can open or tilt for fresh air or to take in the nice views. The bed is comfortable and there are 2 upholstered side chairs with a side table and a desk with a desk chair. The room has built-closet/hanging clothes space and a safe. There is a stand to place luggage on. The room is carpeted and the lighting is good. The bathroom is modern and generously sized with a large walk-in shower. The hotel fronts on the main street across from the beautiful Mosel River. Lots of tourists from river boats during the day but after dark the town and the room are quiet. We have a "superior" room (#22) located on a corner of the second floor so we have large windows on both sides. The breakfasts are very good with a full assortment of options for the international traveler but nothing cooked to order. There are two restaurants in the hotel for dinner; one, is ala carte and one is a set menu. They request reservations. Parking is available on site but it gets tight when the hotel is full. We highly recommend the Park Hotel for your stay in this charming city. Tip: if you need laundry service there is a woman, Frau Huntscha, located at 31 Ravenstrasse who will do your laundry. You would never know she's there because it's not advertised and the front of the building is an office building. You need to walk around to the right side of the building, that faces the adjacent Diewald supermarket, and ring the bell for "Wascherei". She will buzz you in and you walk up one flight of stairs where she'll greet you.
Review 4:1) nice quite place with parking & restaurant 2) clean & quiet room 3) good breakfast & happy ladies fo hotel 4) nice reception and qutite helpful to recommend nice site seeing etc.. it is really good hotel when you plan to visit Cochem- the most beautiful town in Mosel vallay
Review 5:Beds had plastic mattress protectors - there are better ways! Wifi was a bit flakey and seemed to be overloaded at times. Dining room was a little basic but the restaurant looked nice.
Review 6:We had a suite which was new and well equipped, if a little spartan. (It would have benefited from some soft furnishings.) Tea and coffee available in our room. Breakfasts were good.
Review 7:We had to book a room for three people as there was nothing else available and as a result we had to pay more which meant that value for money was poor.
Review 8:Very good location , pity we could not use the excellent terrace as the weather was poor. The lady at breakfast was lovely! Overall, a good stay and would come back again.
Review 9:Location great just a short river walk into town and only 5 mins away from penny supermarket. Breakfast excellent, room very spacious, and lovely views
Review 10:I honestly cant recommend this hotel for business travelers for a number of reasons. Breakfast is excellent but is only available from 08:00 onward. Even If guest at the Hotel have booked via Booking.com , guests are asked to pay the day before departure. The owner of the hotel is mistreating his staff.
Review 11:excellent WiFi
Review 12:The hotel was in a good location although quite a walk from station and town centre. This wouldn't be a problem usually but as my wife was suffering with a bad back she found it quite difficult. May be a problem for older guests too or in bad weather.
Review 13:Nice quiet hotel with a lovely breakfast.
Review 14:One minor point is that the rooms should have individual safes rather than having to use the main hotel safe.
Review 15:Everything was great. The breakfast, staff, rooms, cleanliness, free parking are all excellent. Location just out of town means it is a lovely level stroll into town using the wide path along by the river. But also means it is away from the busy town which is a bonus.
Review 16:There is no small fridge in the room. We always like to keep our water cold.
Review 17:We took a triple room and it was nice and spacious. The hotel is 10 min walk from the center of Cohem
Review 18:If it will be hot avoid rooms facing west as our building trapped the heat and released it during the night. With no aircon or fan we had to leave curtains and windows open and put up with light and road noise.
Review 19:Good position a nice stroll into town with some nearer restaurants. Wifi good, breakfast plentiful if a bit 'plastic' tasting.
Review 20:For our stay, there was nothing we did not like.
Review 21:The location is excellent, about 1km walk from the center of Cochem yet sitting just across the road from the Mossel. The staff are very friendly, breakfast plentiful, en-suit room very clean and spacious and ample car parking. It offers excellent value for money.
Review 22:None
Review 23:pleasant situation close to river with easy walk into central Cochem which has trains to both Trier and Koblenz. Worth visiting the local castle as well as others nearby. Evening meals were good and reasonably priced and staff very helpful. Plenty of free car parking at hotel
Review 24:If we will visit Cochem again we will stay at the same hotel. Friendly and helpful staff and modern and clean rooms. The food was fantastic in the restaurant.
Review 25:Toalettdelen i badrummet var liten.
Review 26:Rummet var väldigt fint med sköna sängar. Bra läge i Cochem och kanske den bästa hotellfrukosten vi fått på en fin terass.
Review 27:Lovely, friendly and helpful staff in a very nice comfortable hotel. The hotel was easy to find in a great location just a 10 minute, pleasant, walk into Cochem. Very clean and good food at a reasonable price. Would definitely stay there again.
Review 28:We were given room no. 9 , adjacent to main road, traffic was very busy, couldn't sleep all night, replaced room next morning. There are no elevators to rooms.
Review 29:Half board dinner menu very limited but good food nonetheless. Not all staff could speak English well and my German is terrible (but we got by!)
Review 30:Our large room was spotlessly clean, was very light and airy, had a view of the river and included tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast had an excellent choice.
Review 31:The blanket is a very warm winter blanket and together with the mattress topper, it made the bed super warm. I can imagine this is great during the winter and if you tend to be cold. However, we were there in spring so the bed was too warm (no air conditioning in room) and we had to leave the window partially open throughout the night. It wasn't a problem for us but for light sleepers, note that you may hear traffic noises from the road as from 7am.
Review 32:The location is great, along the river but at a quieter end and is only 10-15min walk to the centre. Room is modern, very spacious and very clean. Our bathroom is rather small but it has everything, including a good hairdryer and the water pressure is great but water drainage could be improved. Very convenient to have free parking right on the property. We had dinner at the bistro and although the menu was quite limited, the food was excellent. We also appreciate the coffee/tea making facility. Overall, we highly recommend this place.
Review 33:Dinner possibilities limited, too expensive and not in line with the type of quests the hotel is targeting on. Dinner rooms did not show a causy-inviting atmosphere.
Review 34:Quality of breakfast was very good
Review 35:old carpet + when you stay for a few days, no bed refreshment and poor refilling of coffee, shampoo and cleaning
Review 36:great breakfastbuffet, friendly breakfastlady, good bed, new bathroom and great location
Review 37:No mini bar/fridge in room. As this is a wine growing region, one would hope to have a place to chill wine and cheese purchases, etc, in room. There were no wine glasses in room either. The bathroom amenities and in room coffee and tea were scant and never replenished in our 3 night stay. The front desk staff were not overly friendly, and seemed to do their jobs a bit begrudgingly. I wouldn't stay here again.
Review 38:The breakfast was good with plenty of choices available. It was presented by a particularly warm and friendly hostess with a warm smile and prompt service. She made the breakfast experience a good one. Views from the hotel are stunning, rooms are very nice, but services were very much lacking for the price of this hotel.
Review 39:Although we had booked a "superior" room this was very small. The en-suite was just about large enough to fit in a loo and shower with not an inch to spare. The door wouldn't open fully as it brushed against the bed, so quite a squeeze.
Review 40:Pleasant location a few minutes walk from the river. We enjoyed good rich breakfasts and the table settings were immaculate. The decor in this hotel is "interesting" with hand painted walls and ceilings. Staff were helpful and pleasant.
Review 41:A little on the expensive side. The road next to hotel can be very busy.
Review 42:Good sized room. Large bathroom with a great shower. Easy parking. Good wifi. And a tasty breakfast.
Review 43:None.
Review 44:My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much, a small hotel in a location close to the river and away from the town centre which is very busy with tourists. The hotel itself is first class, clean, staff very good always willing to help and with a smile, rooms ideal with very modern furnishings and bathroom. The food again was of very high quality and the Chef set very high standards. The team is very professional and headed by Eve. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.
Review 45:WiFi a touch slow, but liveable
Review 46:Just briefly, a smart modern hotel, easy parking, room in Annex topclass, breakfast great, pity it was just a little too cool to sitoutside too enjoy it. Staff very friendly, got bbc world news on tv!Would stay here again no problem
Review 47:The upscaled restaurant was not a favorite for me. As only having a main dish with fish the plate and content was artistic but not particulare good and very small. But the local wine was top. Being the only guest in the restaurant for 1,5 hrs should be a signal to management to maybe look into this upscaled restaurant concept. Breakfast was not served before 0800 - at least 1 hr too late for me as i left already at 0700.
Review 48:2-300m away from the most busy part of this small city - well placed close to the Mosel river. Quite rooms - maybe a bit small the one I had.
Review 49:Bed was a bit hard. Cochem at midday in August is a crowded madhouse!
Review 50:Comfortable, spacious room (we had a premium level) Recently updated bathroom Excellent Breakfast Easy parking Beautiful view of the Mosel Good proximity to Cochem (10 minute walk along the river) Cochem is a beautiful river town, after the crowds leave.
Review 51:Restaurant was closed on Monday
Review 52:Excellent Room. Clean and comfortable. Good view to Mosel. Only short walk to Cochem. Great Staff ! Dinner at Sunday evening was really good, i can really recommend hotels Restaurant !
Review 53:many flies in the room, all day long! 2 roommates (we were 3) allergic to the dust in the room had to take antiallergic.
Review 54:good room size & breakfast; convenient location
Review 55:Although the weather was hot during our stay, even without a duvet our nights were very sweaty due to the mattress and/or mattress protector.
Review 56:Location a short scenic walk from the bustling town of Cochem. Amenities good. We didn't eat at the hotel because we wanted to try different restaurants.
Review 57:We had booked half board after reading the reviews, and whilst the food was good and beautifully presented at, 29 euros we felt that there could have been a choice of menu. The first evening the main course was belly pork which was something that myself and husband would never eat. There could be a choice of main course. We asked if we could pay a supplement and choose something from the a la carte menu but were told that this was not possible as the food was already prepared. The dining room was beautifully decorated and had a good view over the Mosel river, however although the hotel was full on the two evenings we were there was only one other couple eating on both evenings, so this should tell the owners that their menus need looking at.
Review 58:The staff very friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were both immaculate and the shower was the best we had on our recent trip to Europe. Breakfast was plentiful. The hotel is in a great position on the promenade, just a nice walk into Cochem, takes about 15 mins.
Review 59:Reception staff not welcoming and no safety deposit box in rooms. Evening meals pricey.
Review 60:A short walk into the town. Nice hotel and good breakfast. Good parking facilities.
Review 61:Restaurant was very pricey. Went into Cochem every evening instead. We had good weather so it was a pleasant walk, would not have been so good in the rain.
Review 62:Large, comfortable room with view of castle. Kettle in room - very useful. Good breakfast with a wide choice of food.
Review 63:Beds were to hard and the weird square pillows not very comfortable. Room 26 is right next to the kitchen ventilation which is noisy.
Review 64:Really nicely decorated. Great shower. Good quiet location and the Cochem city center is a nice 10 min walk.
Review 65:Nothing
Review 66:Hotel, it's staff and facilities were excellent. The short walk to the township was not a problem and gave beautiful views of the river, township and Castle
Review 67:Everything was just great.
Review 68:everything was absolutely perfect wonderfull breakfast very nice staff
Review 69:The only problem was that there was an ill fitting mattress cover on the bed and I had to take it off for comfort.
Review 70:The beds weren't super comfortable, and a double was actually two twins pushed together.
Review 71:Clean rooms, free wifi, great breakfast buffet included.
Review 72:Can't think of anything.
Review 73:Quiet area but right across from the river. Very nice staff & good food. Breakfast very nice.
Review 74:Rude, surly staff.
Review 75:Bright, large, comfortable room. Lock up bicycle store.
Review 76:The location, accomodation and parking facilities
Review 77:superb hotel, great location, just back from road, on the Mosel, near to great sight seeing spots, lovely breakfast and staff
Review 78:Very clean, big and nice room. God breakfast. I should book again. Everything good.
Review 79:We loved everything this should be 5 star hotel fab location great rooms friendly staff 10 min walk along mosel to cochem
Review 80:rather small. bed was a little soft for us.
Review 81:location, clean,
Review 82:Missing A/C in the room. Washington over 30 degrees When we where in Cochem
Review 83:Really great hotel and perfect location.
Review 84:Lovely location just up river from Cocham which was a nice stroll. Large comfortable room, chairs, balcony, excellent.
Review 85:Location - lovely view from our room. Right side of the river as it is just a short walk to lots of restaurants, shops and river boats
Review 86:Bit close to main road so It needs air con as leaving the windows open mean the early lorry traffic wakes you up.
Review 87:Location, parking, people.
Review 88:The room has no refrigerator
Review 89:Staff very very friendly Excellent food Good facilities
Review 90:Evening meal a little over priced , and very quiet in restaurant possibly due to early season
Review 91:Good location . excellent room with view
Review 92:Nothing.
Review 93:The room/suite was very comfortable and well furnished, with a spectacular view. The breakfasts were particularly good.
Review 94:1. Sewer smell in bathroom not accepted by staff when pointed out 2. Dinner disappointing
Review 95:Very nice position on river
Review 96:Comfortable. Lovely breakfast. In a quiet part of Cochem but just 10 walk along the river. Superb
Review 97:Leaving.
Review 98:Just about everything.
Review 99:The room was just what we were expecting. It was a short walk to the castle and to the shops and restaurants.
Review 100:Well appointed room. Check in was efficient and facilities in hotel and attractions in Cochem were explained very clearly.
Review 101:We liked everything about the hotel, very nice staff, clean and comfortable room and nice location
Review 102:Wall to center
Review 103:No elevator
Review 104:Every things are great
Review 105:As always an excellent welcome, spacious comfortable rooms and top quality restaraunt, a must if visiting Cochem.
Review 106:Very limited staff around
Review 107:Breakfast good , very smart room.
Review 108:Big bright rooms, very clean, good breakfast
Review 109:Excellent hotel. The cuisine at the restaurant was first class as was the staff. Very varied breakfast, also excellent. Would come back.
Review 110:Could use more parking spaces
Review 111:Excellent breakfast. We had one child and the two bedroom suite was perfect. Very modern and comfortable
Review 112:Location cleanliness value for money fantastic breakfast choice
Review 113:very clean, nice location, attentive staff, great experience
Review 114:Excellent and would definitely return in the future.
Review 115:No exercise facilities
Review 116:The location--Cochem is a historic city. The room--very comfortable. Price was reasonable.
Review 117:no fridge in room
Review 118:large spacious room, clean, good view, friendly staff
Review 119:The pillows in the room were too big to sleep on. It was slightly outside the city(around 10 min walking, which is not so bad). Breakfast could have been a bit better in terms of variety, but it was good nonetheless.
Review 120:The location is nice and the rooms are clean and well maintained. The staff is helpful and always smiling.
Review 121:The tables were very slow to be cleared at breakfast, especially the ones outside - during the lovely sunny weather. And the milk at breakfast was warm - not cold!
Review 122:The location was good and the parking was ok.
Review 123:The location of the hotel is perfect. Most of the rooms have a view of the castle, its a 11 minute walk beside the Mozelle to the centre. We arrived at the hotel few hours prior to the normal check in time, the staff was friendly to allow us an early check in. On the first day wifi was not available, since it was the first day after renovation and we were told that we were the first one to check in at the newly renovated building, which made our visit more special. The rooms were clean, spacious and had all the required amenities. Parking is free within the hotel premises. The breakfast which was included in the price offered enough variety. The staff was friendly in all aspects, especially in providing local knowledge with the appropriate routes. We will definitely recommend this hotel and would like to make another visit.
