Reviews for Coast Inn of the North Prince George
Review 1:There was no bottled water (complimentary) in the room. I never drink tap water. TV kept loosing signal.
Review 2:They stay was really nice. Rooms are very comfortable. Beds are comfy.
Review 3:Somewhat high priced for what you get. They were some noisy guests that woke me up in the middle of the night so rooms are not soundproofed.
Review 4:The room was nicely updated and clean. Friendly staff. Pool and hot tub were clean. Liked the balcony.
Review 5:The location! My friend and I were almost attacked by one of the locals outside the front entrance of the Hotel with the police being involved. It was a terrible experience!
Review 6:Everyone at the Hotel was wonderful!
Review 7:Price we paid through booking.com was an excellent value for the room. Very impressed with the large containers of soap and shampoo in the shower as the little bottles are never enough. We were also impressed that we could get a late check out to accommodate are schedule.
Review 8:Shower faucet at end of shower No hair dryer Dirty hall way carpets
Review 9:Staff accommodating / helped with parking Comfortable king bed Nice sink / faucet Nice shower gel / shampoo AC worked well and was user friendly
Review 10:breakfast would have been nice but that's getting picky. Pool was a bit dated but otherwise in good condition and enjoyed by our kids.
Review 11:I normally do not give outstanding reviews. But our stay here was excellent. A crib was requested and provided with crisp clean linens. The room was on the smaller side but with big comfy beds and pillows. The hotel was quiet and the staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel has been recently renovated and it was a very pleasant stay. I'd stay again without hesitation.
Review 12:Our keys were not programmed for our second night stay. We did not have access from parking lot and could not get into our room without going back to front desk and having them programmed again. For an older senior it would have been a huge challenge late at night.
Review 13:Access, decor, complimentary lemon water, helpful staff
Review 14:When booking a reservation , the system advised only one "ecomomy" room left ..when I booked it ..the system came back saying the room was gone ..forcing to book a more expensive room. When I arrived , my expensive room was not ready BUT they had an "economy" room available but no ability to change price.I was ill from travel and needed to lie down so I paid the high price for the room I tried to book in the first place.
Review 15:Convenient , nice people , food good.
Review 16:The room was too hot and no air conditioning. The maximum window opening was only a six inch square..not enough for any ventilation. Also, not very good sound proofing. We heard a child screaming all night and the family was across the hall and two doors down. ..not even next door.
Review 17:Room had no remote for tv. There was no toilet paper and there was body wash smeared on the inside of the shower. The lighting in the bathroom is very dim.
Review 18:The overall facility is nice and very modern.
Review 19:We had the granddaughters in the and a group of teenage kids showed ( up approx. 25 ) and completely took over the pool & hot tub. They were overly loud & had no concern for us. The manager showed up and wanted to make sure there wasn't a fight because of the noise and that they had a parent watching them. They did, but didn't have any control. We left.
Review 20:The pool was used many times. The rooms were clean and a good size. Staff was cheerful and pleasant.
Review 21:Room was next to elevator.. king superior? I don't think so! Pull out was horrible. Plus the elevator was right behind our head.. No sleep. Pool is cold and whirlpool was not working on the long weekend. Disappointed
Review 22:Easy to find
Review 23:The only thing I could complain about is the pillows on the beds are too big, but that's a personal preference.
Review 24:Love the atmosphere, it's quiet and extremely friendly. One of our favourite is hanging out in the lounge with Lorie the bartender, she is very friendly and alot of fun. Overall we really enjoy staying there.
Review 25:Was given the wrong room when I checked in and told that we would have a view of the fireworks from the room. Was then moved to the correct room with no view of the fireworks. There was also hair on the bathroom floor. This hotel is usually very clean and there is usually no problems with check-in but I do understand that it was extremely busy at the hotel and that things can sometimes get overlooked.
Review 26:The staff is always very helpful and friendly. I have stayed many times at the Coast Inn and have been bumped up to a premiere room for free for minor issues when checking in. Very comfortable beds!
Review 27:Not having a balcony, but in winter who cares anyway ! :)
Review 28:Renovated room style is chic. The shampoo, conditioner and body wash are really nice and from large pumps instead of puny bottles. You don't need to bring your own, these ones are high quality ! Starbucks coffee and tea in room instead of no name junk brands. You will love it, just as we did.
Review 29:I was told by manager they would cancel an extra room i had booked as they had customers wanting rooms. However my visa was charged for that room anyway .
Review 30:Noise! Friday night booking. Intoxicated adults (not teens or sports teams) running up and down the hall, knocking on doors, talking in the hallways all night long. Left to catch a plane at 5 am and hallway activity still going strong.
Review 31:Location. Close to restaurants and in a better area of downtown.
Review 32:There is absolutely nothing negative about this property. The medical rate was higher than other properties, but, you get what you pay for. The room was large and comfortable and the hotel was just so magical. It was the cleanest i have ever seen. It had so many beautiful stores and all of the dining options, were amazing. Thank you Stephanie and the Coast Inn in Prince George.
Review 33:We are top tier members at the Holiday Inn and the Hilton. My husband is a heart transplant patient and this is the first time ever that a hotel far exceeded expectations. They went above and beyond to support my daughter and I. They have converted us to Coast hotels now. Attitude goes a very long way and this property genuinely cared about us. There were two beautiful young ladies that had our backs. Thank you for your real kindness.
Review 34:It as a holiday and most facilities in the hotel were closed, the gift shop for example. I would have preferred covered parking (for winter).
Review 35:The hotel's location was within walking distance to restaurants. The staff in the restaurant were very nice and everyone was so friendly. We had a room with a nice view as well.
Review 36:The lights in the place are the compact fluorescents. They don't turn on right away and make noise when they do. They are bad for the environment. The bathroom fan was soooo noisy that I wanted to disconnect it. Also couldn't get fresh air in the room as they put glass on the other side of the opening window
Review 37:Room was too cold and thermostat didn't work. Was told by front desk clerk that it was an old building and as air con/heat were centrally controlled there was nothing that could be done. Conference ballroom was also uncomfortably cold. Only one of two elevators working during 4 night stay.
Review 38:Rooms have been renovated Friendly staff Quite good, but expensive, Japanese restaurant
Review 39:The hotel was downtown surrounded by commercial buildings - not particularly scenic.
Review 40:The room was large and comfortable. We took advantage of the pool facility, which was clean and inviting. A bite to eat at the lounge was in order due to our late arrival. The food was tasty and ample. Staff service was excellent.
Review 41:Access to hotel from 1st floor car park meant either negotiating stairs or car ramp. Would have helped if there had been a lift to take you down to the lobby.
Review 42:Comfortable beds. Best night's sleep since we arrived in Canada 10 days ago. Good breakfast at cafe.
Review 43:no magnifying mirror in bathroom and shower sprayed floor with water because the glass doors are small
Review 44:nice renos to room. appreciated the upgrade to king bed. very nice
Review 45:The instructions for the room fan were not clear and as a result my friend and I listened to the ongoing drone of the air-conditioning fan every night; not realizing that there was a specific setting which would enable the fan to go off. Had that been emphasized or more clearly explained, all would have been perfect. Instructions were provided, but didn't specify why those temperatures were noted that it would enable the air-conditioning to go off on its own.
Review 46:I loved that the room was sound-proof and wedding revelers could hardly be heard and the comfort of the King size bed. Would love to have one like that of my own.
Review 47:Walls are not well insulated for the noises.
Review 48:Very friendly staff
Review 49:The staff was verry friendly
Review 50:The service was great
Review 51:great pool & hot tub, comfortable beds, great location
Review 52:Room was small and disproportionate to the room rate (pricey)
Review 53:Room was clean.
Review 54:Staff was super friendly and helpful
Review 55:The room was very comfortable and the staff were exceptionally helpful and very friendly.
Review 56:Bathroom sliding door was very noisy
Review 57:Nice new modern feel and upgraded to a king suite at no charge was awesome!
Review 58:The room had been recently updated and everything in it appeared new. Very comfortable bed. The wifi worked excellent.
Review 59:The resturants were over rated!
Review 60:The staff was great and the room was very good.
Review 61:Hard bed. Small room.
Review 62:Good fitness facilities. Nice pool and hot tub.
Review 63:Nothing

Review 68:Beautiful room.
Review 69:Location was clean and convienent. Pet Friendly and kid Friendly, the staff at Coffee Garden were great and made the kids feel special, thanks
Review 70:The staff are awesome and the hotel is very nice.
Review 71:Paying for room service,Old carpet in hallways and room,(dirty)

Review 79:Everything
Review 80:Fan in room
Review 81:Lobby decor
Review 82:I loved it all would stay again maybe next make sure there are 2 cups not 1 but other than that it was great
Review 83:Plunger on soap/shampoo was difficult to operate. Had to place on a firm surface. Not convenient in shower. Tax
Review 84:Comfortable, clean .
Review 85:Construction noise and apparently a room flooded mid night so I was woken up by the maintenance worker.
Review 86:Pretty much everything was very nice.
Review 87:Excellent staff, Good Breakfast service
Review 88:The shower door didn't shut so water went everywhere.
Review 89:Great location, right downtown. Nice room, friendly staff.
Review 90:Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Bed was very comfortable.
Review 91:There was nothing we didn't like.
Review 92:Excellent accomodation in every way and great value for money!
Review 93:Someone was hanging around the parking lot which made us nervous for our vehicle.
Review 94:Everything was clean, up to date.
Review 95:Very helpful staff. Good restaurants. Modern room.
Review 96:quiet. we were traveling with pets. the rooms were spacious. comfortable and quiet.
Review 97:The main desk staff seemed completely clueless about everything from the nearest convenience store to the best car rental place. They had no maps at all (city, province, region)and were unable to give directions to the nearest main highway access point. There was a liquor store in the lobby but nowhere to buy a snack or a magazine etc. The nearest convenience store is several blocks away and the neighbourhood is otherwise barren of facilities unless the civic centre is of interest. Without a car or a big taxi budget, you'll be completely stuck at this hotel. Many pensioners clearly frequent this hotel and staff should be more self-aware about ageism and sexism both toward this demographic and in general. The Wifi service needs an update --it cuts in and out frequently.
Review 98:Super-comfortable bed, well planned room with everything where you want it including a good reading light by the bed and a good desk space. Impeccable housekeeping staff too. Friendly staff in the restaurant but the place looks like a dungeon and needs an update in terms of both menu and aesthetics. There's a White Spot restaurant across the street so all is not completely lost but there's more to a healthy life than slabs of beef.
Review 99:I was hoping the swimming pool has a 3ft level, so my kids can enjoy it more.;)
Review 100:I liked our room, It was newly renovated and located at the upper floor which allowed us to view the city of pg. the location as well is excellent.
Review 101:For such a nice place the toilet paper was the cheapest they could find. Would have been nice to have a microwave. Neither of these hampered our stay. It was fabulous.
Review 102:I like my comforts when I travel and this checked off everything. The room was way over my expectation. The king size bed and bedding was stellar. Nice balcony to enjoy morning in room coffee. Nice living room sitting area with large sofa, 2 arm chairs and coffee table. Just loved our stay.
Review 103:You can hear the people in the other rooms around you fairly well at times.
Review 104:Had Superior King suite, very nice, then upgraded for $20.00 more and went to the Junior King Suite with Balcony. This room was huge. The beds are very comfortable. The renovations are very nice also. Location convienent for going out to restaurants. Went to Shogun Japanese restaurant in the Hotel and it was very good, would recommend this.
Review 105:The amount of money I paid for two nights for a king size bed was absolutely out of reason. The bed was not comfortable at all. I would recommend a different room or even a different hotel, either that or the rate needs to go down. I've stayed in cheap, grubby hotels for $80/night where I got a good night's sleep. This is my honest opinion.
Review 106:Everything was as good as a "normal" hotel.
Review 107:The decor was not to my liking, only one armchair, the shower did not have a normal door so water would get all over and you had to mop it up.water temp was a little on the cool side.
Review 108:It was clean and comfy, the pool was nice, location was close to everything.we had a nice stay.
Review 109:Color of a purple pink n room size a bit small but space management made it work
Review 110:Cleanliness accommodating cleaning staff location everything there or close by
Review 111:Nothing, really.
Review 112:Greatly renovated rooms, to my taste - colour, style. Awesome stuff, incredibly friendly and helpful. Great Japanese restaurant - a world class, a big surprise (in prince George?)
Review 113:Furniture is scratched and worn. Towels are like sandpaper. Unbelievably a hot water pipe burst and the entire hotel had no hot water for several hours in the morning. The hotel staff were indifferent about this and there was no attempt made to apologize, i.e. free breakfast or something. Downtown Prince George is run down and dangerous at night. Lack of competition is the only reason this hotel is in business.
Review 114:Friendly young lady at check-in.
Review 115:Pitifully slow service in the restaurant, not enough staff. Booked aroom with two beds but because we were early by 1.25 hours we wereoffered 1 bed for the same price. Because we booked two separate roomswe were located on separate floors. It was a in the words of the clerk a'crazy' day!
Review 116:Quiet, friendly staff
Review 117:For the price, little things like the quality of toilet paper and kleenex. Room needs to be freshened up and brighter. Help for luggage at door.
Review 118:Friendly, clean
Review 119:Response to a problem re noise in the bedroom
Review 120:Location and welcome on arrival
