Reviews for Auberge Vancouver Hotel

Review 1:The pool and fitness were closed for maintenance which I didn't see on the booking. I picked the hotel for the pool. Closed until 1st of Feb.

Review 2:Rate, space in room

Review 3:Great price for a downtown Vancouver hotel, and it includes a continental breakfast. As well, we had to re-schedule at the last minute due to a family illness, and they were willing to do that, even though it was pre-paid and they were under no obligation to do so.

Review 4:Staff seem uninterested in helping

Review 5:In the middle of downtown, free breakfast was nice, rooms and clean, really close to the shops and waterfront, super close to public transport which is awesome if you're coming from the airport, and they also offered us a late check out of 2pm because our flight didn't leave till late.

Review 6:Hotel pool and gym was closed over new years which was very disappointing. There was no parking available for our truck size and the staff had no idea where we could park our truck so my husband drove over an hour to find a parkade.Room wasn't very clean pull out couch was old and fridge was broken pull out couch had ripped sheets on .I booked the room for 4 people and we had only 3 towels and not enough glasses .For almost 700 dollars for 2 nights it is so overpriced just because of the location.

Review 7:Location

Review 8:The internal restaurant and the wellness centre, including the swimming pool, were closed for renovation and I only discovered this upon my arrival at the hotel. The entrance is a little difficult to locate unless you already know where it is.

Review 9:Very central location, convenient for basically any place downtown. Comfortable room and breakfast included. Staff was professional and friendly.

Review 10:Included breakfast was pretty light on selection, but it wasn't too bad. Definitely not a dealbreaker considering it was free.

Review 11:We had a corner room on the 10th floor and the view was incredible. Comfortable facilities, well kept, professional staff that were really helpful on the holiday weekend.

Review 12:Room was small, facing the neighbouring building roof. Pool was out of service. Breakfast was minimal, (didn't have toast due to New Year late delivery.) Booking.com price was same as hotels.

Review 13:Very central, very clean. It's fine for one or two nights. It's a beautiful hotel but more suited for the Residential suites.

Review 14:Phones and TV lines were down for hours after checking in, gym and pool was closed.

Review 15:The staff, location, and cleanliness were nice, supplied free parking due to lack of services

Review 16:The pictures advertised are not at all what the actual accommodations look like. the rooms are dated and need a face lift. I also woke up with several bug bites. The hotel itself is hard to find and parking is a pain.

Review 17:The location and staff

Review 18:Showing beautiful pool pictures and then finding that it was closed when you got there was quite disappointing. No advance notice of closure. Breakfast was standard continental fare but was sufficient.

Review 19:The hotel has a great location. Able to take the train from the airport and get off about one block from the hotel. Also close to Canada Station and easy walking to the Gaslight District for restaurants and shops. My corner suite room was clean and comfortable, with beautiful views of the city. Appreciated the free and easy to use WI-FI. The desk staff were helpful and courteous. Nina on night and Virginie on day always greeted you (how was your day, what did you do) and provided extra information.

Review 20:Breakfast was really poor

Review 21:location at 5 min walk from Waterfront Station, Canada Place, Robson Street and Gastown. Views from the room. High standard of room.

Review 22:The pool was closed. We couldn't even go see it due to constitution. The bed was a bit hard.

Review 23:The room was nice and clean. Spacious and the staff super friendly.

Review 24:I chose this hotel for pool and gym facilities but when I turned up these were closed for renovation. There was nothing on the website to indicate this before I booked.

Review 25:Staff and particularly Alicia were very accommodating in providing recommendations on alternative fitness facilities to use.

Review 26:Hotel is convenient to all that downtown Vancouver has to offer. Staff was very helpful and anticipated needs (i.e. explaining parking location and access). Rooms are spacious, clean and have good views of the city.

Review 27:TV - maintenance could not fix it Light fixture broken - had to ask to repair -

Review 28:Staff was delightful- generous and cheerful Room was wonderful-great view

Review 29:Breakfast provisions were surprisingly poor quality (energy dense, nutrient poor) and no other healthy food choices available; especially given the relatively wealthier clientiele. Specifically, all cereals were coated with sugar; all breads were white processed (no wholegrains), the yoghurt product was full of added sugar, corn starch and preservatives. The only real 'healthy' choice was non-flavoured (instant) oatmeal. did not like having to enter/exit the building while someone was smoking right in front of the entrance.

Review 30:Very comfortable bed, WiFi in room, amenities (e.g. umbrella, coffee, newspaper etc)

Review 31:breakfast not till 7 am. very difficult when meetings are at 7:30 or 8 am. All facilities I ever stayed at had breakfast starting at 6 am. Not sure if anyone else complaining however I could hear it in breakfast room.

Review 32:location to waterfront

Review 33:For price more opulent bathrooms Questionable cleanliness of glassware in room- looked like it was just wiped off and put back, still sticky hand and lipstick prints on glasses. I had to wash everything before using Not a full service hotel eg room service, lounge. No movies available and the cable was not full service, had limited channels

Review 34:Great Location Nice size suite Complimentary breakfasts Nice exercise room

Review 35:Really need a makeup mirror in the bathroom, bathroom fan was very loud, our housekeeper forgot to leave us an extra roll of tolietpaper

Review 36:Friendly staff, location, quiet room , price was right for what you get, and it includes breakfast

Review 37:The toilet seat in our room was disgusting. Breakfast was not open before we left for our day of activities. Parking was a nightmare because we didn't know where to park, and drive around for 30 mins before we finally double parked and I went into hotel to get instructions on where to park. And a little disappointed there was no room service.

Review 38:The location was close to the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Review 39:Restaurant choices. Not much in and around the Hotel.

Review 40:We loved the location. My friend and I stayed at this hotel because we were leaving for a cruise the next day. We were pleased with how the hotel was within walking distance of Canada Place.

Review 41:No bad experience, but parking garage is behind the hotel on another street

Review 42:The staff was amazing. The rooms are awesome; living room, bar area, microwave, great view, two sink bathroom, separate very large bedroom with a great view as well.

Review 43:Signage....not very well visible from the street. No sign on front of building. Just looks like an office building front the street. Found it hard to find.

Review 44:Location was wonderful. So close to everything in downtown Vancouver.

Review 45:In room keurig coffee maker, robes, newspaper, complimentary continental breakfast, pool and spa. Excellent location and friendly staff. Felt more like a residence than a hotel.

Review 46:I did not like the cement poles in our room. Also did not like how the bathroom looked. Our room was a suite and it did not come with any cutlery or plates. The worst part was our fridge didn't even work , we put it all the way up to max but it was still pretty warm.

Review 47:I loved the scenery and how comfortable the bed was.

Review 48:dark older room small and dark bathroom small breakfast room & limited breakfast

Review 49:Central location Good rate for Vancouver Very nice staff Nice swimming pool

Review 50:No plates available in the kitchenette.

Review 51:The hotel is located near to the Waterfront, a very nice and touristic area. I had a spacious suite including a kitchenette, at a lower price compared with the negotiated room price in the hotel hosting the meeting.

Review 52:Parking was expensive.

Review 53:Location was wonderful. Room was very comfortable and lovely, with a sitting room and large bedroom. I enjoyed the breakfast. The gym, especially the pool, was just beautiful. Overall, my stay was great: lots of comfort, friendly staff, clean rooms and a beautiful view of Vancouver skyline.

Review 54:Entering from the garage , the walkway into the hotel needs updating. Just an updated iPod . It was very hard to find.

Review 55:The staff was very friendly, and they answered all our questions and very honest. The bed was awsome especially after a long day. The aquatic pool was great it made our trip complete.

Review 56:Carpets need renewing in hallways. This applies to all hotels: please no little plastic tubs of butter, jam or whatever. It's not environmentally friendly.

Review 57:Everything. Service was friendly and professional; Rooms spacious and clean, comfortable and bright. In room Keurig, complementary bottled water and chocolates. Breakfast on a nice floor with views was ample with good continental choices along with fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs and real china & utensils too! Loved the pool and workout spa area. Location is close to waterfront and near, shopping and events, public transportation easy, airport direct.

Review 58:the breakfast is not so good, don't have many choices, only bread and juicies.

Review 59:the location is really good, easy to anywhere, and close to the skytrain Room is clean

Review 60:Location perfect near Gastown, restaurants, and right next to public transport to go anywhere in town. The gym and swimming pool indoors are top notch.

Review 61:There was a mix up with the beds in the room but it was quickly rectified. To be fair, not sure whether it was our fault or theirs

Review 62:Friendly helpful staff. We asked for a kettle at the desk and they provide one. Lovely view of the harbour.

Review 63:unclean room . Soap and shampoo left in shower from previous guest. have used bottle of water. floor was dirty. worn out towel with holes in it.

Review 64:location was great

Review 65:There was nothing to comment as everything was just perfect for us.

Review 66:Lovely and very helpful staff. They even upgraded us on our 2nd visit to a suite which I thought was just wonderful. I also asked for Herbal tea bags and no problem the next day I had my tea bags.

Review 67:far from English Bay

Review 68:Great location for seeing the city, friendly staff, large comfortable rooms...and great pool, gym and outside deck that I wish I had the chance to use!

Review 69:Wonderful location for exploring downtown Vancouver. Very close to the water and the Olympic Park. Go the other direction and you are only a few blocks from great shopping and restaurants. In fact, you are surrounded by a multitude of restaurants of all kinds; as well as a variety of shopping for every budget. Staff was friendly and helpful. Swimming pool and hot tub large and very clean. Locker rooms are well stocked with anything a man or woman would need both before and after a swim. Lovely in every way and I will return.

Review 70:Fire alarm turned out to be false alarm after I walked down 12 flights. Then hour later alarm again!! No advice from staff!! Stairs again! False alarm again.

Review 71:The location was just perfect for us and the room was lovely and even better when we got upgraded to a suite. It was just wonderful to experience to have use of a suite. Staff was very helpful and everything suited us. Will stay again at the Auberge Hotel.

Review 72:View from room (plywood covering up a construction site on the building next door).

Review 73:Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Very early check-in. Very comfortable bed. Upscale kitchenette. Less than ten minute walk to cruise ship.

Review 74:No lounge/seating area in foyer or other area of the hotel

Review 75:The location was near to harbour, restaurants and shops. The view from our room of the harbour and mountains was fantastic

Review 76:Outside signage could be displayed a little better. Couldn't tell it was the hotel until we were standing in front of it.

Review 77:everything was excellent. It was close to Canada center and the waterfront. An excellent location. The hotel personal were quite helpful the breakfast was good quit comfortable.

Review 78:Staff appear a bit judgemental (look you up and down...we did look bit average after 30 hours flying). Poor wifi, pathetic breakfast of toast and cereal, no room service, tiny dark rooms, very poor kitchen facilities, didn't even have cutlery. Window looked out onto a run down roof top covered in building materials and piles of dirt. Also covered in very loud birds that woke us up. Oh and massively over priced! We stayed at the Pinnacle Harbour Front at the end of the trip and it was 100 times better and even a bit cheaper!

Review 79:Comfy bed. Good curtains.

Review 80:There are no restaurants or bars in the hotel; but there are several in the immediate area.

Review 81:Excellent location in the centre of the CBD. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. The wifi is excellent. Breakfast is free.

Review 82:Accommodation was charged to the incorrect bank account causing major problems with my bank after I arrived home. Still sorting them out and it is a week later. Staff have been helpful to fix the problem but it still has caused major problems... Breakfast options were limited and the breakfast room was too small. The Auberge should consider a room service option for food.

Review 83:Staff were lovely. Room was very comfortable. A mix up with the payment of the bill ruined what was a great experience.

Review 84:Breakfast room was way too small and the selection only fair.

Review 85:Harbor views were fantastic, especially at night. Bell captain took our luggage to the cruise ship port and escorted us through.

Review 86:The breakfast (hard to complain when free) was a bit lacking.

Review 87:The hotel was excellently located for our pre cruise overnight in Vancouver. It is within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Prompt and courteous service from the entire staff.

Review 88:Great location, just a block away from skytrain and easy access to Gastown etc. Room was clean and average, nothing wrong but nothing out of ordinary. The hotel is part of an office tower and private club so fitness and pool facilities are great.

Review 89:We loved the harbour view and all the water activity we could see from our room. Great location to waterfront, Stanley Park sea wall...loved the long gorgeous walk. It was very close to everything!

Review 90:Was disappointed with the kitchen (no plates no knives, forks or spoons) so ended up eating my take out with coffee stir sticks as chop sticks. The power and internet were shut off at noon for maintenance but I only received a letter slipped under my door after the shut down. Gym and pool closed on holidays. Was my second visit, the first visit was better.

Review 91:Good location close to Canada place.

Review 92:No sign above the door so takes a little finding but worth it

Review 93:Perfect central location. Friendly helpful staff. Very smart rooms, amazing views. Complimentary breakfast was lovely.

Review 94:Terribly slow wireless connection Gowns were in bad condition

Review 95:Great location Great view Good sized room Access to indoor pool was a plus on rainy days

Review 96:The breakfast. It was so basic. It could do with some hot food as well.

Review 97:The location. It was so close to Canada Place which was just nice for us as our onward journey was a cruise. The staff was able to help us transfer our luggage to the cruise terminal. Saved us some effort to lug them ourselves

Review 98:Nothing!!

Review 99:Excellent value for money, especially for Mini Suite. Excellent location to / from Cruise Terminal, only few minutes walk so no need for Taxi.

Review 100:Narrow dirty corridors, unprofessional concierge/ reception staff. Breakfast although included was in a small cramped room and again not particularly clean. Room a good size but tatty around the edges. Not sure how it got a 4* rating!

Review 101:The breakfast was very poor for a hotel of this standard (and price!) Boring selection of not-very-tasty self-serve muffins and bread/bagels, half of the things had run out before we arrived.

Review 102:Fabulous pool big enough to swim proper laps, with a beautiful view and terrace. Gorgeous view from our room, comfortable and clean.

Review 103:Breakfast room is small, only sweet meals. Parking place is easily achievable however it costs ca. 30 CAD per day and there is not any direct lift to the hotel.

Review 104:Excellent location in the downtown, nice view. Large, clean and comfortable rooms. Very good option for both holiday travellers and business people.

Review 105:We had made the reservation months prior to our trip and we were slightly disappointed that we didn't have a room with a good view of the harbor.

Review 106:The indoor pool was a delight, as well as the hot tub. It is really part of an athletic club that guests have access to use. Clean and big! The location of the hotel was fantastic! We walked to it from our cruise ship.

Review 107:if you drive by the hotel you can miss it because you can't see any sign from the car

Review 108:great location if you are taking a cruise from canada place.took the lagage and went 5 minutes by foot. large very conveniant room

Review 109:Wi-fi was not as good as expected. Also the constraint on taking the children into the pool betwee 4-6 was a nuisance.

Review 110:The location was excellent and the hotel staff were very helpful.

Review 111:All the staff at the front desk were so helpful and friendly! Time and again they answered questions and seemed interested in what we had done when we returned from outings!

Review 112:No hard boiled eggs at breakfast. Just yogurt, cereal, fruit coffee & tea

Review 113:Close 1 block ck to cruise terminal. One block ck from Skyteain from airport. Super exercise facilities with 25 m pool- weights, yoga classes. Open to public.

Review 114:I reserved the room months in advance and had called to confirm the reservation in advance of our visit. I had 3 rooms reserved and specified that one room needed 2 double beds. No double bed rooms were available when we checked in! The desk clerk was not helpful and was a bit rude. Her suggestion was to call Booking.com to work it out with them! The manager was not on duty. Given that it was late at night when we arrived, and there were major events in town making it impossible to find other accommodations , we had no choice but to take the room. It was an awkward situation for that group in our party to share a double bed. We asked if a roll away bed could be provided; she said no… there is not enough room for it. She assured us that they would move them to a room with 2 double beds the next day. The desk staff was more helpful the next day, but informed us that the hotel only had 5 rooms with double beds and they were all booked by others not associated with booking.com . They did at least offer to split up the party and offer one of them a separate room. Be aware if your family has children that the vast majority of rooms are one king bed with no option for a roll away bed. Be prepared to share you bed with your children!

Review 115:Close to the cruise terminal. In the heart of downtown. Minifridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room was nice. Breakfast was nice though the serving room was small.

Review 116:- a bit pricey - breakfast has almost only wheat-based products. Could add some cheese and ham and some fruit for variety - laundry service waaay too expensive

Review 117:+ great location, + very comfortable beds and room was very spacious + staff were friendly and helpful

Review 118:Great location for business or pleasure and only a short hop, skip or jump to anything you might like to do. Friendly and courteous staff and nice rooms with free wi-fi - a must for business travellers.

Review 119:The view from the room was not what we had thought given the promotional views at the time of the booking . Also the breakfast room was small for the number of guest looking to use the facility .

Review 120:Staff Room Comfort of bed Shower Location of car park Leisure facility

Review 121:Seemed to be some kind of miscommunication between Booking .com and hotel over the bed type that I had requested. However, the manager took the time to show us different rooms & sort the problem.

Review 122:Size &view from room . Also very quiet. Great location.

Review 123:Would like more pool hours for kids, but we worked around it.

Review 124:Service was great and everyone was very helpful with suggestions and tips. The bed was very comfortable and location was good.

Review 125:Breakfast room was minute and poor quality we left and went to fairmont for breakfast. It is in a tiny pokey room with 5 tables for a hotel this size. Not acceptable. And wifi hardly worked.

Review 126:Although pool was lovely. Guests not being able to use it at peak times , like 4-6pm was very frustrating

Review 127:Location & views. Spacious room / apartment rooms for city hotel

Review 128:The carpet is getting old. Te included breakfast was fair but less interesting then when I last attended. Overcrowded room sometimes.

Review 129:the location. Excellent if attending a conference. Very close to terminus of Canada Line from airport.

Review 130:Toilet not working. No name shown on hotel. Had to search for the door. Room View of a roof with construction on it. Parking lot a five minute drive away. No valet parking. Parking lot like a prison and closes at 7 pm. Pool advertised as open till 10 pm. Went to use it at 9 pm and were told it was closed. Breakfast room On 8th floor claustrophobic . Full breakfast was in fact a continental breakfast and not a good one. Staff clueless. Should be ashamed to include it in booking.com.

Review 131:It was busy in Vancouver the weekend we stayed so prices were up a little, apart from that great stay!

Review 132:Nice hotel with a great location. There is a pool & spa, gym and steam room too!

Review 133:It was a shame the hotel did not have a restaurant. The lounge was a little cramped although breakfast was complimentary"

Review 134:Friendly staff, good sized comfortable room. Swimming pool excellent

Review 135:the hard force of the shower and the fact that water managed to get all over the floor in the bathroom. it will spoil the wood.

Review 136:the size of the rooms . a proper table to sit at . the handy location the staff were helpful and friendly
