Reviews for The Listel Hotel Whistler

Review 1:Heater didn't work (in winter). Tissues were soaked. Breakfast lacking. Parking expensive. Strong odours throughout hotel. Way too costly for the value. Should be $50/night for what we got. They just get away with charging high prices because of the location.

Review 2:Good location. Close to lifts.

Review 3:Rooms were small but still got the job done. Breakfast was sufficient but nothing to write home about.

Review 4:Had everything you needed. Smaller hotel that felt cozy. Staff was amazing. Lifts were a 5min walk through the village.

Review 5:The hotel is a bit old, the room was smaller than I expected and if you stay in a room on the first floor you have to carry your big carriers with your hands. They only have stairs to get the room in the first floor from the lobby.Of course they have elevators to access higher floor. But if you bring lots of bags you'd better avoid the first floor. And breakfast was disappointed.

Review 6:The location is wonderful. It takes just 2mins to gondolas by walk from the hotel. And also it's close to marketplace which is near to free snow sledding and ice skating area. If you travel with young kids I recommend this hotel.

Review 7:Wifi kept cutting out in our rooms, was quite pricey but we booked it 2 weeks before Christmas.

Review 8:Was a very comfortable room, great location though everywhere in Whistler Village is close to the slopes. Reception was very friendly. We had loud drunk tourists just outside our door at 3am waking everyone up but a quick call to reception and everything was sorted. Breakfast was standard what you get at

Review 9:I asked the clerks at the front desk to see if we could get into our room 15 minutes early. They staff seemed unhappy and put out to check.

Review 10:The remote for our room did not work. The maintenance man was very patient kind and accommodating. Very nice. He had to get 2 different remotes before he found one that worked.

Review 11:The lobby is limited and a little tight.

Review 12:Front of house was very personable and helpful. Continental breakfast was simple, but appropriate given it was included in the room rate. The hotel is well located, approximately a 3 minute walk from the ski lifts.

Review 13:The room I had the first night on the second floor behind elevators was noisy. I could hear TV's, people talking and water through pipes. I had to change rooms the second night. The door to the underground parking was not working properly, so I had to get out of my vehicle to phone them to open.

Review 14:The location is prime. One minute walk to the heart of the village.

Review 15:Advertised free "in room Wifi" but didn't have it, when I called the front desk they said they were unable to help. 20.00 per day to park my car at the hotel...money grab!

Review 16:Location

Review 17:The heating system was a little primitive, but it did the job fine.

Review 18:Helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable beds. The location was very convenient access to the gondolas.

Review 19:No parking included and very expensive per night. Fixtures are a bit dated in the room. Expected a more substantial breakfast.

Review 20:The location is great! Very convenient to the village but quiet.

Review 21:Breakfast really limited and not inspired. Lumpy uncomfortable pillows.

Review 22:Convenience to the ski lift! Ski storage and dropping them off in the lobby. Covered parking with high ceiling for the rocket box.

Review 23:Fantastic location. Very close to the whistler gondola and even closer to loads of bars, restaurants and shops. Friendly helpful staff. Good value for money too.

Review 24:Breakfast was a bit thin on the ground, an option of scrambled eggs etc would have been good.

Review 25:The staff were brilliant- really helpful and friendly- giving all sorts of good tips on shops etc.

Review 26:Had multiple issues with the card. First when we went to the parking garage our key did not work, we went back to the front desk to get it fixed, and went back to try again and it still did not work. I am assuming the lady at the saw us on the camera and opened the garage from inside. Once we made it up to our room with our multiple bags our key did still not work to let us in to the room. I again had to go back to the front desk to get a key that would work. All the staff was very friendly but going to the front desk 3 times within 15 minutes was very frustrating.

Review 27:friendly staff.

Review 28:The Barefoot Bistro and champagne bar was closed and the ice vodka room as well until the Winter Season two weeks later but all three things we wanted to do.

Review 29:Location of hotel and the comfortable beds and a good breakfast.

Review 30:Way too expensive for what you get. There are better hotels, better deals and for the price we paid would have gotten a lot more elsewhe

Review 31:It had two queen beds and fridge

Review 32:Super comfortable room at great value, fantastic facilities, friendly staff with a great breakfast included and a location just on the edge of the village.

Review 33:The size of the room, the old damaged fridge, the mass amount of outlets used, damaged baseboards, only one switch plate for entire suite, and really bad coffee.

Review 34:The king size bed

Review 35:They put us in the wrong room, a room that was already occupied. Then to make up for the error they gave us free parking. But didn't tell us it was free, just that it was valet parking. So I parked down the street at a cheaper parking lot and paid for the 2 days I would be there in advance. Then when I booked in, they said that my parking would be free with them. But I had already paid, and its a different company so it didn't make a difference.

Review 36:Room was clean, beds were super comfortable! Amazing location. 2 minutes to the gondola.

Review 37:We had to wait for hours for our room to be serviced, given the exorbitant charges that we found on our bill after leaving, that was unexcusable

Review 38:Certainly not the charges that were not declared when we booked.

Review 39:The hotel is a comfortable, clean and a convenient place to stay when in Whistler for a few days. Room was clean with good quality linens. Staff at reception were exceptionally patient with this senior traveller when I became confused about payment card and who I'd actually booked through!! Top tip: Call hotel direct next time, and there will be a next time. The location was convenient for walking, shopping and restaurants, but quietly located so heard no noise from street. A very good value for money stay in Whistler, when so little time is spent in a hotel room, The Listel fitted the bill exactely.

Review 40:Wanted a special meal to celebrate my wife's birthday. Restaurant closed unexpectedly. Told it was staff shortage! Went to another fine dining restaurant nearby.

Review 41:Location great

Review 42:PRICE, NO OUTDOOR AREA, POOL, WOULD PREFER CONDO THOUGHT THERE WAS A COUCH AREA BUT IT WAS A HOTEL BEDROOM.

Review 43:LOCATION, COULD WALK TO VILLAGE, BFAST AVAILABLE

Review 44:Hotel is quite outdated and could use some modernisation. Breakfast is very bad. Just the basics. Very little choice.

Review 45:Two double beds in twin room. Room was clean.

Review 46:91 degrees in Whistler and no air conditioning or even a decent window. Parking was over priced. Drinks at the restaurant were extremely high priced.

Review 47:Location and the females on the staff. Room was ok except for lack of air conditioning.

Review 48:Nice bar and I like the open breakfast. Think they should remodel the room we sat in for breakfast because it seemed like a storage room for odd pieces of furniture etc and looked messy.

Review 49:The hotel boasts of their "ice vodka bar".....it's 95 degrees outside on August 12th and no air conditioning in a nice room overlooking the small square and Crystal Hotel....only a small fan......open the window at night and one gets early morning service trucks noise.....staff would not compensate or adjust price for this lack of sleep for Aug 12 th

Review 50:location was in middle of village...very convenient

Review 51:Bathroom shower, breakfast. Hotel computers not working.staff at times preoccupied and distracted.Very good visit however the room seemed a little dated and need upgrading, especially considering it is in a resort like whistler that has world visitors. The bathtub and shower were in need of upgrade especially. The shower was very difficult to control. Limited amenities such as soap. Air conditioner was primitive and breakfast had no meat and limited options for health conscious people.

Review 52:Great location. Knowledgeable staff. Very quiet location.

Review 53:Whistler is a very busy town and people are bussed I'm at night from surrounding hotels and campsites. The pick up And drop Off for Many of rhese is behind the hotel which. Makes ae of the rooms on that side noisy.

Review 54:Good central location clean nice size rooms with reasonable inclusive buffet style breakfas

Review 55:Temperatures exceeded 30C/90F and there was no air conditioning in our room and the 12" fan that the hotel provided was inadequate. There was only one small window and when we opened it we had to listen to delivery trucks. I would not stay here again during the summer!

Review 56:No air conditioning and too many trucks backing up outside our window made for a very poor night!

Review 57:The fridge had to be unplugged because it made so much noise. Not a big deal

Review 58:The administrative staff. Friendliness of people who were working with stock in the garage area.

Review 59:This hotel was great, for the discounted price we paid. Room was clean, but if you need reliable wifi or want AC, then this isn't the place for you. They provided us with a fan, which was enough for us during the summer heat.

Review 60:The breakfastroom was to small and overcrowded. The staff didnt see the urge to help or hurry up so there was a lot of food not available.

Review 61:Good location in whistler and goog value for money

Review 62:The WiFi was a bit unstable. Not sure if its because I was living on the 3rd floor. Always went offline in a sudden.

Review 63:Staff was really helpful, specially the lady called Daina at the front desk.

Review 64:Everything was great except we just assumed that the room would be air-conditioned. Even with the fan that was supplied we were too hot to sleep for most of the night. This was the only negative, otherwise it was a lovely hotel.

Review 65:The location was great, and it's a lovely hotel.

Review 66:We were travelling a family and friends. Rooms were not the kings we booked, given queens. Staff only gave what was available, dit not bother much till one of our couples got upset with them. NO a/c in the rooms. Except for our suite, but the suite was smelly due to dampness. Smelly shower curtain etc...

Review 67:Location was ok. But not too important for we were not skiing...

Review 68:low quality continental breakfast, no aircon in room (and it was a hot weekend), generally tired looking decor/interior in need of refresh, parking was twice the cost of the parking lot next to the building

Review 69:One of the best restaurants in Whistler (Bearfoot Bistro) with a Champagne sabering cellar and frozen vodka room, excellent location in middle of the action, very courteous house cleaning team

Review 70:Arrangement for breakfast was hopeless as it caused long cues, hot and cold food needs to separated. Charging for car parking nothing but a cash grab.

Review 71:Wireless didn't work and Continental Breakfast had very poor selection. Sausage and no eggs or potatoes. 1 type of fruit

Review 72:Good price and comfortable

Review 73:Stuffing a sofa in a room so limited in space that the standalonebedside tables butt against the bed, does not make it a "juniorsuite". Noting "individual rooms may vary" on the picturedoes not explain being put in what looks like an attic. Wifi is spotty, ice bucket had leftover food remnants from the prior guests, lamps weredusty, carpet is old with bits and pieces of random dust/dirt, therewas stain (either blood or food) on the bed runner, check in procedureswere painful, front of house staff mentioned they were wary of fraudhence the overkill. No accommodations on their part for early check inand I was actually told when I got there at 3: 48pm that they still had12 minutes before 4 pm. Only stay here if you intend to spend to crawlback at night and sleep with the room completely darkened. For $156 caddeal of the day, it was not worth it.

Review 74:Not one damn thing. Never again.

Review 75:the continental breakfast was lacking compared to other hotels. Plus I would think hotel parking would be free.

Review 76:very comfortable and quiet. Great location.

Review 77:Very noisy plumbing in out peoples room could be heard very loudly in ours causing us to weak up to a loud screeching sound

Review 78:Staff were very friendly and helpfulN

Review 79:I'm not a picky person (I frequently stay at Motel 8s and ComfortInns), and I would give this hotel a 1 of 10. First, I have never beento a hotel where you are not allowed to bring your triathlon/roadbike in the room. I have scoured their website, and I have not foundanywhere they mention this very important fact! They did make anexception only for Ironman athletes (I stayed there race weekend). Iwould never, ever trust my $5,000 bike in the storage facility theyoffered in the parking garage. I don't care how "secure"they claim it is. Secondly, this hotel is vastly unimpressive!!! Theonly positive thing is that is located in Whistler village. At anyother location, I would have felt taken advantage of if it was even$70/night. The hall carpets are worn out and dirty. The elevatorsare antiquate- no exterior indication of if they are going up or down-causing confusion. The hallways were hot even when it was only 60 degf outside. The carpet in the room was worn out and dirty (they cleanedit, but there is just nothing you can do when it is so worn out). Thefurniture in the room was old and stained. The heating/coolingunit has no control- only on and very cold. It never did heat up whenwe selected the heat setting. Third, we didn't realize it was aparty hotel, but the screaming/laughing/cussing next doorstarted at about 9:00 pm (must to my dismay because I needed to get upat 3:30 am for the race day). Also, the WiFi access was spotty, butdid generally work.

Review 80:The staff was friendly. They were not helpful, but they were friendly. The bed was comfortable!

Review 81:Although there was a mini fridge would have loved a microwave as well.

Review 82:We were pleased with our suite and being in the corner location was a bonus as we didn't have any of the typical hotel noise.

Review 83:Breakfast was nothing special.

Review 84:Staff was amazing - well-informed, friendly, helpful. The room was very comfortable & roomy, and the towel warmer just put it over the top!

Review 85:So handy to everything. Friendly staff and lovely room. Got a good deal that included breakfast and parking. Continental breakfast as good as it needed to be.

Review 86:Breakfast was disorganized -plates at end of the line, toaster (one) very slow and caused huge backups. It would be easy to streamline the buffet so that didnt hold everyone up. Tables were not cleaned. Also room noise was significant.

Review 87:Great locatiob, reasonable price.

Review 88:Poor customer service by two different front desk staff members. checked in at 2pm original room smelt of smoke, was then told the new room would not be ready for an hour or so. On arriving back the new rooms toilet was broken so we asked if they had another room available to which I was told they had nothing and if I didn't mind waiting another hour or so. Staff had poor attitude and a lack of customer service skills.

Review 89:location was excellent

Review 90:I didn't get the room where I wanted it on the main floor, we were put on then third floor under the roof, hot, hot hot with no air conditioning and with the window open noisy. No sleep, never again will I book the Listel Hotel in Whistler.

Review 91:We were there to watch our daughter compete in the Tough Mudder 2015, and we cannot believe how much the rates for this room were jumped up. We were charged $319 plus taxes and $20 for parking for the night, for a room that had a somewhat dirty coffee pot, and a bedside lamp that turned itself on and off whenever the bedside table was touched or the drawer on it opened or closed, no air conditioning in our room so we had to open our window as it was hot and stuffy in our room. Noises of people laughing, talking loudly, dogs barking and motorcycles and food trucks running and honking horns all hours of the night While we were there, I took it upon myself to see what the room rate usually is, and it was on the same website I booked on, for only $126. That's a difference of $193!! I think that is just highway robbery! Also, I don't think I have ever seen such a cheap, grocery store bought thrown together continental breakfast anywhere before. For our first time staying in Whistler Village, we were greatly disappointed!

Review 92:Adverised as having air conditioning, but non present. Breakfast was disorganised with many item missing. The staff however were trying there best.

Review 93:Liked the location near to the centre, but still quiet

Review 94:We booked the room in advance but we got the first room in corridor in main floor loud and noisy. The room was very hot we were told by the staff to open the window and tirn on the samll table fan! Extremly hot room! Breakfast room was in a very bad condition, untidy and dirty, horrible coffee and wierd set of sittings all in different sizes and shapes

Review 95:Clean sheets & towels

Review 96:There was only one fan for the room for summer so it was really hot and stuffy. Also the staff member named Travis who was working in the breakfast room was very rude to me when I asked him a simple question using my manners.

Review 97:We had a great time in whistler and the late deal we got for the room was great price for the location.

Review 98:No A/C, when ask why, they told me it's a winter resort, just changing over to a summer resort the last couple of years. Will never stay here again. I will now on ask if the hotel has A/C didn't think I had to.

Review 99:Room was clean

Review 100:The rooms were extremely small, even a deluxe room, was barely bigger then the bed. It was also very poorly lit giving the place a dingy feel; which isn't helped when the white comforter is covered in dust streaks. The lobby is very nice, but the rooms don't hold up for the price. It's worth spending a little more & staying at a better hotel in the area.

Review 101:Functional for a short stay. The staff was nice & parking was plentiful.

Review 102:Found a few areas on bathroom loot with hairs And then a one on each bed hoping just Cleaning gals Older hotel breakfast was great Very good value Would come back

Review 103:Location and price

Review 104:Naehe zum Zentrum, aber ruhig in der zweiten Reihe gelegen, 50 m zur Fussgaengerzone. Fruehstueck war einfach, aber fuer den Preis OK. Richtiges Geschirr und kein Plastik! Klimaanlage erstaunlich leise.

Review 105:Book it dot com says free breakfast but its a continental breakfast and the 21.00 parking fee is not mentioned until you get to the front desk also for a resort class hotel their facilities are poor such as the sauna.

Review 106:Scenery

Review 107:Paying for parking, however I think parking is limited in Whistler.

Review 108:The location was very good for an overnight stay. The beds were very comfortable and a continental breakfast was included in the rate, which was very reasonable.

Review 109:Carpeting in hallway a little worn. A slight mildew (or something similar) smell to room. Breakfast had little protein (hard boiled eggs & yogurt only).

Review 110:Friendly service and rooms are clean. Price significantly lower than neighboring hotels.

Review 111:2 lights didn't work, only one was fixed after I told the front desk, Only one setting of the shower head actually worked, which made it difficult to take a proper shower. The website states toiletries available, but other than shampoo and body wash there was nothing! I hadn't brought toothpaste and had to buy some.

Review 112:I liked the quiet.

Review 113:Breakfast was included but pretty poor selection. It seemed disorganised, it didn't flow, it was very busy & people were going in all directions. Needs an overhaul. Didn't have breakfast for our 2nd day. Was going to go to the bakery but again poor selection, looked like hadn't been stocked from previous day. Don't think they bake any bread on premises. Maybe buy breakfast from supermarket or another restaurant

Review 114:The hot tubs were having maintenance but they gave us a card to use at next door property the Crystal. My husband loved that, it was outdoors and were able to use their ping pong table. Friendly reception staff.

Review 115:The hot tub was closed for maintenance. A minor gripe is that the rooms do not have balconies

Review 116:The property is older but very well maintained. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 117:Bed was super comfy, soft & we were within easy walking distance of the village. I also appreciate that they include pump bottles of soaps etc rather than the little bottles so they aren't contributing to the plastic waste.

Review 118:The showers were terrible, poor and inconsistent pressure with fluctuating temperature. Noise seems to travel in the building; from upstairs rooms and from outside through the heater/air conditioner vents

Review 119:The beds and pillows were great, the wifi worked well. The location and parking were good, and the comp. breakfast, while modest, did the job

Review 120:but there was no hand sope in the bath room when we asked they said they don't provid it that's was skewed for $200 a nightbut there was no hand sope in the bath room when we asked they said they don't provid it that's was awkward for $200 a night

Review 121:Beds r comfortable

Review 122:Unfortunately, the breakfast is not so good. There is a lot of sweet food and the only thing salt is if you but Philadelphia or butter on your bread. We really miss some cheese, ham, salt pie, or hot omelet. We just see pancakes with sweet syrup, cereal with milk, little cakes, juices, coffee, yogurt, some thing like break and candy inside. Only sweet things. But I believe that everything was prepared safety.

Review 123:The girls in the reception are really kind and helpful! The room is very beautiful and it has a big and confortable bed. The washroom is big, it has a good light and good shower. There is free wi-fi, drink machine in our floor.

Review 124:the shower becomes scalding hot every time someone flushes the toilet in another part of the hotel. Staff, told me to speak to mgr in am, next am he wasn't there, told to contact him next wk, did so- he asked for 48hrs to "confirm the pblm" before discussing any minimal compensation (I asked to have parking charges waived), 48 hrs later still have heard from him, and won't hold my breath. Also hairs found on the linen and in bathrm, loud doors slams from in the hall, barebones bkfast etc...

Review 125:nice beds

Review 126:The accommodations were slightly dated. The staff was unclear when checking in, but were pleasant to work with. The soundproofing between rooms was lacking.

Review 127:Very central to the heart of Whistler and very convenient. The suite was a great value for the inexpensive rate we laid. Would definitely reccomend to anyone looking for reasonably priced housing in The Village!

Review 128:The exteriors look good that's the reason I booked this hotel don't go for the pics on their website, hotel is dated from inside. We had booked for 2nites with a request for higher floor whn we reached we got G level n we checked out after 1day n spoke to the staff to get some refund but thy said thy cannot help n can neither give us a higher floor. Overall not a good experience.

Review 129:Free wifi n average free breakfast

Review 130:No air conditioning in the room so we had to open the window during the night. Quite noisy at times due to the partying going on outside.

Review 131:This hotel is in the heart of everything and is one of the few hotels in the area which are reasonably priced.

Review 132:No kitchen or kitchenette in our room. Maybe in other rooms. No outdoor/indoor pool. No outdoor jacuzzi and very small.

Review 133:Location. Breakfast included. Skis delivered to us in the morning and picked up after the ski day. Loved that. Very nice staff. Parking garage until 4.00pm the day of our departure so we can ski the whole day.

Review 134:noise from main floor bistro carried through the elevator shaft up to the third floor 'til 1:15 a.m. noisy plumbing

Review 135:proximity to ski lifts complimentary breakfast ski valet

Review 136:Kind of old. Facilities such as spa not what you would expect from a hotel in that location. Very mediocre breakfast. Very expensive although I was there over New Year.

Review 137:Great location

Review 138:The only complaint was the noise level - however, it was college weekend, so there wasn't much that could've been done!

Review 139:Excellent location and price! So close to everything and a great deal for the duration of our stay!
