Reviews for Hotel de la Place

Review 1:The breakfast was pretty basic: croissants, bread, cheese, butter, tea/coffee. But all the food is good. I'm not sure if it's reasonable to expect anything better in this area.

Review 2:Good location close to Vevey. A bus stop right next to the hotel. Quiet at night. Go to the restaurant to check in. The hotel has that very authentic feel to it, feels cozy. The room is small but enough for one person and clean. WiFi worked well.

Review 3:Not a bad experience. But we would have preferred a slightly more varied menu for the evening meal, but otherwise good.

Review 4:Very convenient location Friendly staff Pet friendly. Even allowed in restaurant.

Review 5:The church right across the street starts ringing very early, so it's hard to sleep in the morning

Review 6:The location is perfect for someone visiting Nestle. The restaurant is a charming old cafe

Review 7:NO BREAKFAST ON SUNDAY ! Although a placard in the corridor gave the timing for breakfast on week- and weekend-days. Reply: you can buy yourself whatever you want at the local food shop (!). The price ("breakfast included") has been reduced 2x10 CHF - when a mere coffee in town is at 3,80 CHF.

Review 8:It was hard to reconcile that if you don't have a car, it's quiet a hike up a big hill from the train station to get to this place, so bus is the only option. And the free breakfast was insufficient; when you're travelling, you need more than bread and cheese. I was lucky someone had good enough English to help me explain I was vegetarian. Cute little area, but not surrounded by cafe's and nightlife, so you're kind of stuck with their relatively expensive hotel menu. I'm sure you could find an easier bed somewhere more convenient.

Review 9:The area around the hotel was cute, and a nice park a short walk away had a lovely view of the mountains across in France.

Review 10:Vevey is not a dreamy vacation spot. There are many towns in Europe thatare cleaner and more inviting. The walk from the hotel to the old townon the water goes through a relatively seedy end of town, with run downapartment buildings and a few uncomfortable areas that you might notfeel comfortable walking alone. The WiFi signal in our room was one barand older devices such as our iPhone 4 had a difficult time maintaininga signal. As will all elements of Vevey Switzerland, the hotel was a bitpricey. Breakfast included yogurt, coffee, juice, croissant and bread(no eggs or other cooked options).

Review 11:The hotel manager is friendly, speaks excellent english and made usfeel at home. The area surrounding the hotel is one of the nicest inVevey with an easy escape to the rolling farm hills to the north ora 15 minute walk to downtown. The room was clean and the showerstrong and hot.

Review 12:Parking is free but it was a public parking area 5 minutes by walk from the hotel

Review 13:The hotel have a very nice restaurant, long history with very nice food, we had dinner there and the tast of beaf is fantastic.

Review 14:I liked the fact that this was a little out of the middle of Vevey and so was quite quiet. The rooms were good and the staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant's food was decent and the prices were in line with other places we ate. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable.

Review 15:Parking sometimes an issue - restrictions unclear outside hotel. No other meal options locally when hotel restaurant was fully booked

Review 16:Setting/glorious views, area located, it felt a typically French/Swiss village, good food

Review 17:Switzerland is expensive, perhaps it's normal to have a so-so matrass, none-too-fresh croissant/pain au chocholat for breakfast and a tiny room in the outskirts of small town, for 130 euros/night. Get used to the church bell each 15 minutes.

Review 18:Well-intended Swiss family manages the place, makes it comfortable insofar as the Swiss can do. Contact them in advance - on Sundays they're off-duty and without your notification, no one will meet you. Locals at the train station denied the address existed - ah! this is not Vevey, but Corsier-sur-Vevey (5 minute taxi ride).

Review 19:The bells of the church across the street chiming at 6am! But was OK after shut the window.

Review 20:Friendly ambiance, helpful staff. Nice old world feel with lovely flowers and pictures.

Review 34:The church is very close by and around 10pm the main bell rings which is quite alarming.

Review 35:Breakfast is good value. Easy access to places. Good bus service but we didn't need it. Nice to have a bank and post office nearby. Good panoramic views. Nice place to eat in the evening.

Review 36:There is a church opposite and it's bell starts ringing at 7am and throughout the day. Good to know beforehand. The internal walls are not very noise insulated.

Review 37:Ok, value for money in Switzerland. Nice location and view from window in room. Clean rooms and nice staff. Great restaurant for moules next door.

Review 38:Returned at only 11pm to a very cold room - heating had been turned off.

Review 39:Nice little place, handy for town centre by car. Bar handy for drinks but expensive. Toilet/shower spotless, as normal in Switzerland. Street parking available just outside.

Review 40:The unavailability of WiFi in spite of it being a well advertised feature on the hotel internet details. We were forced into Starbucks for access when we would have preferred to drink coffee somewhere more original. We would have appreciated some written information in the room concerning restaurant times and menu, bus information etc.

Review 41:Clean comfortable room with good breakfast. Towels changed each day. Good location with excellent bus route to town centre. Appreciated free travel with Riviera Card. Liked the atmosphere of the hotel.

Review 42:Didn't serve breakfast to overnight guests on Sunday.

Review 43:Quaint setting in old part of town. Quiet. Local mature residents came to restaurant in a.m. for coffee before going to work.

Review 44:Lovely location in the center of old Corsier. Vineyards stretch above the village, and flowers are everywhere else. Magnificent views of the mountains south and east. Delicious breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 45:Breakfast was awful, all packets and not good value. Rooms were tiny, not well equipped. Poor value for money. Car parking some distance away in public car park.

Review 46:Picturesque, used as a pub and restaurant by locals. Dinner was OK, good local atmosphere

Review 47:Cosy little hotel in a beautiful location. Close to Vevey town center. Helpful staff. Plenty of parking options.

Review 48:Dirty carpet; no English; worn decor

Review 49:Clean bathroom; city locale; quiet room

Review 55:it is not like 3 stars hotel should without stars

Review 56:Accommodation very basic and gloomy

Review 57:Near the Montreux Jazz Festival

Review 58:It is very original

Review 59:Really didn't spend much time there - only to sleep for the night.

Review 60:Comforters were super fluffy!

Review 61:The room was extremely small, and would definitely benefit from a new carpet and new wallpaper.
