Reviews for Hotel Saint George
Review 1:There has not so many travel information, the internet of the laptop in the public area doesn't work so well~
Review 2:Good service and location, just next to the bus station and street of restaurant
Review 3:They may need to clean the swimming pool :)
Review 4:The location is definitely the best. We were there during christmas eve and almost every shops were closed but luckily some restaurants and the kiosk next to the hotel opened. It's just opposite to the bus terminal which is very easy to go to the waterfall.
Review 5:Unfortunately we had just one staff at reception who forgot my husband was a guest and not a pupil by her manner. This was an exception!
Review 6:All staff were very helpful and friendly. Most spoke good English and supported us when tour guides were late. Comfortable hotel with lovely garden and swimming pool.
Review 7:- Breakfast could be better but is good anyway.
Review 8:- Location close to bus station to take autobus to any important touristic place in the area. - Easy to take a taxi if you want it just in front of the hotel. - The Room is comfortable - We would come back at any moment it was a good desicion to stay there.
Review 9:The rooms were a good size with very comfortable beds and great showers. The breakfast was one of the best we have had in Argentina, plus we ate there one evening and had a fabulous meal. Very convenient for the buses to the Falls.
Review 10:The location was excellent for travel to Iguazu National Park, and close to shops and restaurants. The hotel pool was great, as was the masseur at the spa. The buffet parilla was also very good value. The room was also very nice, with good air-con and water pressure (apparently not true at other hotels).
Review 11:Our first room had TERRIBLE beds. Huge debts in the middle. We asked for a different room and paid for an upgrade. These beds were okay, but still far from great.
Review 12:Good location. Good restaurant.
Review 13:the safe in the room didn't work properly, luckily it got locked with no valuables inside but we had to request assistance of the reception to re-open it
Review 14:large room, central position, restaurant Dona Maria very good (+discount for hotel guests), good value for money
Review 15:Our bathroom shower was missing a sliding door panel causing water to spill onto floor. We had to request extra towels to mop up floor. The room had no wall decor. Hallway to our room had a musty odor.
Review 16:Great location. Very helpful staff. Nice breakfast. View of pool area.
Review 17:At check in, I was informed the room would be ready in 30 minuntes but than said it was delayed and 3x in a row. If they would have told me the room would not be ready in the next 2-3 hours, I could have made other arrangements that waiting until the room would be ready.
Review 18:Central location (buses, restaurants, way to falls)
Review 19:Coffee, medialunas and orange juice were not great for breakfast. everything else fine.
Review 20:Central location. Close to all restaurants in the city. close to central bus station (to the falls) and taxi rank.
Review 21:Sauna was out of order.
Review 22:Everything about this hotel is to like. Amazing staff, had a great vibe. Clean and well maintained. Probably the best location in Iguazu, opposite bus terminal and restaurants and a short walk from main drag. The staff were able to give genuinely very useful information about the falls and the various travel options with no bias. I didn't want to leave....
Review 23:Swimming pool dirty, impossible to use. Jacuzzi Dirty and Cold Table tennis - table was too high, why not buying one with official dimensioning, Room 381 - wifi does not work in that room
Review 24:Friendly people, good breakfast, very well located, room very clean.
Review 25:The rat(mouse) lives in the ceiling. It walks very fast from a position to another position in the ceiling. And It is very noisy. So, I can't sleep all the night. I don't recommend to book this hotel..
Review 26:Location is very good. So I can move to another famous tour sight(fall, brazil fall, airport). It's very convinient and breakfact is good.
Review 27:Very poor WIFI Room we were originally offered didn't have a bath and was smaller than what was in the description and didn't look like photos. When we got an older large room that had a renovated bathroom (with bath) the WIFI didn't work. No instructions for safe
Review 28:good location near the bus station
Review 29:If I had one negative it would be the breakfast. But it was by no means terrible, we've just had better.
Review 30:Our room was in the new part of the hotel, and was big & clean, with great modern bathroom. Pool area was lovely. The hotel is in an excellent location. Just across the road from bus station, and many great restaurants.
Review 31:staff werent that helpful. Went to the lobby bar from some drinks but they were closing told us to get drinks at the restaurant went down there they told us to go to the lobby to get drinks. ended up going out for drinks even though we were tired and only wanted to stay at the hotel.
Review 32:Nice place close to a lot of restaurants. Pool great for an afternoon of relaxing
Review 33:There was no internet the night we stayed there. The front dest claimed they didn't have Internet access either due to internet provider's issue.
Review 34:The hotel room is big. Great breakfast
Review 35:The Hotel could do with some make-over (modernization) - it is still okay but it could be so much better.
Review 36:Good location and very pleasant swimming pool - a great place to relax after the long day trips in Iguazu...
Review 37:wifi access - use lobby computers hotel dated in terms of furnishing/interiors
Review 38:Swimming pool was welcome (and warm) Quiet location very close to bus station for going to iguazu falls
Review 39:Rooms were beyond dated. Air conditioning kept our room at 80. Bathroom smelled of mildew. Our room was across from bus station and extremely noisy.
Review 40:Pool and landscaping at hotel and the proximity to the Main Street in Iguazu for nightlife.
Review 41:Pool was a little warm and didn't seem like it had leaves etc skimmed from the top regularly. Although, the gardens were very lush so may have been they were only skimmed on the top once a day
Review 42:Location by central bus station was good and the hotel rooms were spacious with modern bathrooms and finishings
Review 43:I've two clothes need to launder. I put them on my bed and filled the laundry form. But no one collect it.
Review 44:Spacious room is great. The staff at reception can speak well English. Breakfast is fine.
Review 45:Walls of the rooms were very thin so everything outside could be heard. The breakfast was poor and restaurant staff in the evening very unhelpful which was a blight on the experience. Pool area could be cleaner.
Review 46:Modern room, ideal location next to bus stop and centre of town. Good facilities.
Review 47:Buffet breakfast needs improvement. No staff to Clear the tables so had to find cups and plates.
Review 48:The staff were very pleasant throughout the hotel. Buffet dinner was great value.
Review 49:Not once during our stay did the hotel have any Pesos for exchange. You would think hotels would ensure a 'float' but apparently they rely on guests to pay in Pesos to give them their spare cash. Ensure you turn up w enough local currency!
Review 50:Excellent location for bus station to Falls and local restaurants, ATM etc.
Review 51:The AC unit, although brand new, it had a blue light that was fairly bright, but I'm weird where I like it pitch black in the room so probably not a big deal for most. There might even be a way to dim it but we only stayed a short time, so for me wasn't worth the effort to look into.
Review 52:Location was great, right next to the Main Street with all the restaurants and shops, walking distance. Spoke English. Very helpful and kind staff.
Review 53:Expensive for what you get. Paid less than half the nightly price for a hotel of equal standard in Buenos Aires.
Review 54:Helpfulness of staff. Availability of restaurants nearby as well as hotel's own restaurant.
Review 55:Shower needs upgrading - it's old, so the head had just about had it, and the enclosure leaks.
Review 56:Good location - easy to walk to a choice of decent restaurants and shops. I'd read mixed reviews of the town but it was a nice small town and felt safe to walk around. We stayed in a triple room with our 'older' daughter. It was large with 2 large beds and a little balcony, and good sized bathroom. Good breakfast, and very helpful staff. Nice pool area with garden. Good area for sitting in reception, which is needed as people are flying in/out at not ideal times and have to wait around. I also like that my pre-stay emailed questions were replied to promptly and made sense (unlike some other hotels on our journey). A good place to stay for Iguazu Falls, and very close to bus stop.
Review 57:Room décor a bit tired Doubt if air-con in room would be adequate in summer
Review 58:Location close to bus station and has taxi rank outside Pleasant foyer, bar and pool area Good value restaurant Large room and en suite Service in the main was very good
Review 59:Too expensive, and tried to order a quick snack at the bar before our bus but this was a disaster, seemed to be a young guy working the bar and also making the food so perhaps they were understaffed.
Review 60:Very helpful, efficient reception staff and porters, and nice clean room with kettle provided. Perfect location right next to the bus station and lots of restaurants. Breakfast was good, some fruit, yoghurt/cereals and lots of bread and cake options, however the only cooked options were hard boiled eggs and hot dog sausages which is strange considering it's served in a proper restaurant. Would happily stay here again.
Review 61:The staff need to be more supportive.
Review 62:Next to the bus station and restaurants
Review 63:Breakfast quite bland very little "hot" choice.
Review 64:Great location just 100 meters or so from bus station. Nice pool.
Review 65:Staff were great- helped me after I'd checked out with a taxi incident! Nice, large, clean rooms. Amazing shower. Good breakfast.
Review 66:Pool area
Review 67:caution to Americans, Argentina charges a $160 reciprocity tax to cross the border
Review 68:Iguazu is amazing
Review 69:Breakfast - too simple for a hotel this scale Wifi - on and off
Review 70:location-right across the street from the bus terminal
Review 71:The wifi
Review 72:The dinner
Review 73:A little noisy at night but that's being picky
Review 74:Friendly staff, a big room, decent breakfast and right next to the bus station
Review 75:The staff were fantastic
Review 76:It's really easy to get...and the reception was so kind. The mood of interior was antique and cleaned well.
Review 77:Friendly helpful reception staff Convenient location Comfortable room
Review 78:Worst wifi ever
Review 79:Nothingl
Review 80:Everything... The staff are super friendly and helpful. The room was large and spacious, everything was of a very high standard.
Review 81:they didn't replace our faulty safe
Review 82:Pool Bar Location
Review 83:Perfect for our 2 night stay. Great big rooms and excellent choice at breakfast buffet.
Review 84:Very small bathroom and fittings were very old.
Review 85:Pool and gardens. Restaurant was OK
Review 86:Nothing.
Review 87:Location is good. Spacious room. Friendly staff. Near the Brazil consul to apply for visa.
Review 88:Everything is great
Review 89:A few stumbles on the service side.
Review 90:Location Half board (B & D) Room comfort
Review 91:Location perfect near bus station. Pool to relax. Buffet dinner great value n best variety of foods.
Review 92:We didn't feel totally comfortable with the staff. Not very friendly.
Review 93:The hotel was tired and needed a renovation
Review 94:location On balance it was ok
Review 95:Great location, easy to go by taxi to Iguazo falls, close to the little city center and close to restaurants! Nice pool area and poolbar!
Review 96:- breakfast
Review 97:- staff : willing to help us - room : wide and clean but outdated
Review 98:Large size rooms, good clean bathroom, basic furniture but in good shape, good elevator, very friendly staff and reasonable price.
Review 99:Internet was weak, ok breakfast
Review 100:Near the bus station and many good restaurants, new room, great spa
Review 101:Good room, good breakfast
Review 102:location near bus station, very convenient to waterfalls. Central and near some good restaurants. Hotel' s own restaurant is also good, with buffet at reasonable price. Staff extremely helpfal, answered all our questions patiently, esp. Lilian, who has given us good advice for visiting the town and restaurants nearby.
Review 103:Worst breakfast ever, they really need to improve the quality and presentation of it!
Review 104:Good location if you're travelling for seeing the Iguazu falls.
Review 105:Staff. Lots of little things make a bad impression. 1)Reception called me at 3 am to confirm that I ordered a taxi at 6.30 am. When I made a sarcastic comments 'thank you for waking me up in the middle of the night for no reason' - did not understand the sarcasm and said 'you are welcome'. 2) Slipped a note on unevenly cut piece of paper in Spanish (hard to look up that I am a foreigner? hand-cut piece of paper? who does this?) under my door that I need to clear out of the room by 10. 3) Gym is not well equipped, and half of what there is does not work anyway.
Review 106:Location. That's all there is.
Review 107:The experience was terrible we did the reservation with booking and they couldn't find it. Them they finally found and told us that they don't have more rooms and we had to accept a room very inferior. Not a double bed, the knob was broke , the television was old and small and the water of the shower was with mud. I have photos of everything and will sue the hotel, because it was unacceptable. The attendant was very rude her name is Maria Eugênia. Besides her solecism , she told us that we don't need to park the car that we can let the car outside in front of the hotel, after that, we receive a call in our room, at 12am, asking us to park the car in another place, in the parking in low.
Review 108:Nothing
Review 109:They moved us? Why? We don't know. We got bumped from the new section to the old section that was horrible. Mold in bathroom. Very small shower. Not very clean Front desk staff needs to learn more English. They were not really helpful as far a tours went.
Review 110:New part was nice. Nice and clean. Breakfast was good. Lots of selections.
Review 111:Awful receptionists, the worst I have ever encountered in a hotel. Grumpy and unpleasant, did not smile a single time during our stay.
Review 112:Good, central location. Large room and bathroom. Decent breakfast.
Review 113:When you book standard room that's the worst 3 rooms in the hotel and its really 3 star or less. Smell was horrible in the room and room didnt have a window. To get better room you need to pay extra to upgrade. After long discussion with the front desk they upgrade me free of charge.
Review 114:Restaurant and Food is excellent. I recommend not to go outside to eat just stay in the hotel and get buffet for 135 pesos (including water) all you can eat. There is plenty of grilled meat and fish, salads, fruits and desserts. Great value for money and good quality! Pool is nice too and cleaned every day. Great to chill out after all day walking in Inguazu Falls.Location is excellent!Just across the road from the bus terminal.
Review 115:We stayed at Hotel St George for one night and enjoyed it. The hotel is well situated - near restaurants and public transport. It was very easy to catch a bus to the Falls. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and confortable. We took a taxi to cross the border to Brazil and the driver did everything for us. So easy! We had a great holiday!
Review 116:While our room and bathroom were clean, the public areas, specifically the dinning room needs more attention.
Review 117:This hotel has lots going for it - fantastic location across the street from the central bus station and next to very good restaurants. In addition it has a very nice pool area for relaxing after a long day at the falls. We stayed in a room that appears to have been recently renovated - spacious and modern, both room and bathroom. I've read reviews about older rooms but did not see them so I can't comment. The staff was always hlepful and polite.
Review 118:Didn't like that we had to move for one night. Staff did not speak English very well. They were not helpful for tours and they didn't have a consieres that could help us. They advertise wifi in the rooms but we were unable to connect. It appears that this is the theme in South America. Very frustrating dealing with the front desk. In the old section there was mold in the shower. When using our safe in the room it wouldn't open and they tried to tell me that I would have to wait until the next day to have someone from the safe company come and open it. I told them we were leaving first thing in the morning and voila, someone showed up with a key and opened it. So, how safe are those safes? Mold in the shower. Advertised as more than what it was.
Review 119:We liked our first room but were forced to moved for one night. I believe they mixed up our rooms. We were supposedto have along bed and I made the reservations in my name however the other party got the better room. These rooms were nice and roomy but we got moved to the older part of the hotel and the room was larger but, the shower was old, small, and moldy. Hotel was closed to the bus depot if you wanted to take a tour.
Review 120:Carpeting in room needs replacement, decor in rooms needs a bit of refreshing,
Review 121:Good Location, nice pool area, helpful friendly staff, overall excellent experience
Review 122:Wifi did not work in our room
Review 123:Very close to downtown area and just across the street from the bus station for a cheap way to get to the falls in both countries. The staff were very helpful, patient and friendly even when they were VERY busy.
Review 124:Located in middle of the city, good breakfast, lots of restaurants close by and most importantly -- a step away from the bus station so you can get very conveniently to Iguassu falls (argentinian side) in less than half an hour.
Review 125:Lift needed room key every time and always had difficulty with it.Very annoying ,had to use stairsbecause of it
Review 126:Swimming pool and jacuzzi.excellent breakfast.Very nice hotel.wifi excelling the
Review 127:Staff are not genuinely friendly - in fact some, like the bar staff are plain rude Exchange rate for room (quoted in US dollars and paid in pesos) is a rip off The rooms smell - carpet is old and filthy - they need to rip up the carpet and replace or put down laminate But to be fair it seems the town generally has poor quality accommodation as it is focused only on backpackers
Review 128:location is excellent close to bus terminal, places to eat etc. It is also probably the best of a poor selection of hotels in the town.
Review 129:Our room had a bit of a smell & tv did not work
Review 130:The hotel has excellent facilities including massage, & pool. Staff were very helpful. Location is very close to all the restaurants and bars
Review 131:The location is good. The bus stop to the waterfall is opposite to the hotel. The restaurant serves good breakfast and buffet dinner with reasonable prices. My room was newly renovated and spacious. Everything was clean. The reception staff members were extremely helpful in currency exchange, and taxi arrangement. I had comfortable stay.
