Reviews for Hotel Karl Müller

Review 1:nothing but for handicapped to get to the first level may be challenging as there are six steps. could be a service elevator i dont' know about.

Review 2:the hotel has a lovely view of the Mosel river. it is across the street from the boat to take to different cities. walking distance to all the restaurants and the castle. extremely clean and good breakfast. lovely staff not much to not like. they even let me check in early since I arrived from the States around 11

Review 3:That we did not stay for a longer period.

Review 4:Great view with a lovely balcony from our Moselview room on the 4th floor. Excellent help from the girl in the reception handling our lost luggage! Doing more than expected and that is very good!

Review 5:The heat in the room....the odd material of the bottom sheet on the bed

Review 6:A great balcony and view, we were surprised by the quality of the room/furnishings etc. Our previous experience of Mosel/Rhein hotels has been a lack of refurb since the 70s, it was a great place to stay....could be bettered by air conditioning, but that comes at a cost

Review 7:The room was very clean, and bigger than expected. The location is perfect, and the restaurant offered many local wines and a wonderful view. I recommend the trout. I do not remember seeing this online but they also have a free sauna on the top floor for guests of the hotel.

Review 8:I would have put the staff as excellent had two waitresses serving at breakfast had not been so rude. The other staff were excellent. On the first morning, the coffee jug lid was stuck and then came open quickly spilling all down my husband. One marched out and threw down a table cover, wiped it up and marched away, not saying a word. No are you alright, do you need anymore coffee!

Review 10:Internet is poor, Would never connect in room, yet router was in hallway outside door. Finally had to go down to reception to connect then back to room to use. In the end hotel refunded my fee which was good of them. Its a pity this was the only blemish on our fantastic stay there.

Review 11:Location, friendly & helpful staff, excellent quality and good value restaurant ( i would rate as the best breakfasts in our 5 week trip of various European countries & as was also our last night dinner there). Great view from our room, but trees have been trimmed and only have short spring growth. Good English from staff. Thanks again.

Review 12:Reports itself to be an English speaking hotel. All of the staff we spoke to either didn't or wouldn't try to speak in English. No internet and no 3G reception and nothing written in English. Good job we could speak German. No long term parking any where near the hotel without paying a lot of Euro's.

Review 13:Location and breakfast was good

Review 14:Wifi was not free because we used Booking.com, if we booked directly there would be not charge?? Had to pay 5 euro per day.

Review 15:Easy walk from train station, less than 15 minutes with luggage. Location on the Moselle, great views and quiet, lovely balcony. Breakfast was large and varied. A very good value.

Review 16:Everything is excellent except the wifi.they have wifi for 5 euro a days but the signal is very poor.I use it only forless than an hour while sitting next to the reception door to get signal.by the way, a free public signal is available in the street behind the hotel and it is very good!

Review 17:No tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. Internet should be included in the room rate, it's an insult to pay extra for internet in 2014. Extremely small shower.

Review 18:Perfect location. Good size rooms.

Review 19:Room 50,too close to lift, noisy. Shower ,a little small for me!

Review 20:friendly staff Cleanliness Ideal location Great buffet breakfast Great view from 5th floor, front rooms Biscuits on reception! very comfortable beds

Review 21:Not that we mind it because for us it was fine, but the shower could be rather small for large size persons.

Review 22:We loved the location and view from our balcony. The staff in the front desk, especially Kristina and a young man whose name we did not get, were extremely gracious and helpful! The ladies who cleaned our rooms were also very kind and responsive to our requests. The breakfasts were very good and offered a lot of variety.

Review 23:The view from the balcony off our room which overlooked the Mosel River. Food was excellent, full breakfast included. Staff friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Review 24:Very poor parking facilities . A 10 minute walk from the 24 hour facilities.

Review 25:Everything in the hotel very clean and the staff very helpful with excellent English.

Review 26:Only hotel on the Mosel that charged me 5.00€ for using wi-fi. Also asked for regular tap water with my dinner but was told the water was not good and they would only sell me bottled.

Review 27:Clean nice facilities. Excellent breakfast.

Review 28:Book for 2 nights. Possible break down in communications between Bookings.com, Hotel and Client. Load Music in Market Sq till 1.20 am.

Review 29:Staff very helpful in moving to sister hotel. Good 3 Star Accm.

Review 30:Title sums up this hotel. It looks good to have a lolly jar on the counter but they don't want you to have any! The service was bland bordering on unfriendly. Tea drinkers need to ask staff for tea rather than the other way around. Newsletter for guests is only in German. Wi fi is not free. The owners supply good reading material and seem like a great family. They need to kick backsides and get some staff who are keen and eager to serve instead of people who 'have a job' there. Our friends went to the Germania and it aced the Karl Muller in my opinion; value, Elegant room, friendly service, free wi fi, nice food. I felt duped.

Review 31:Location, Room with a View, Neat Clean. Breakfast selection.

Review 32:Overpriced - having stayed at 9 other hotels this trip, the room and hotel were not really up to the price. The river view was almost entirely blocked by trees. Not the hotel's fault, but the room was advertised as "River View".

Review 33:Nice balcony on the river side.

Review 34:Parking, you had to put money every 3 hours. Internet costs 5 Euro day. Small bathrooms.

Review 35:View from the room, breakfast and food in the restaurant, staff, location

Review 36:Be prepared to walk to the car uphill if you use the hotel lot. Staff was not the friendliest. Upper two rooms were warm, needed fans.

Review 37:This three level apt was perfect for 4 adults. Great location! Clean and new kitchen which we used during our stay. Two bathrooms were also clean. Nice modern decor.

Review 38:1)The steps up to reception, which is a floor above street level. 2) Street noise, there is no air conditioning in room. 3) TV, only 1 English channel, which was CNN.

Review 39:1) The reception staff, in particular Christine. 2) Breakfasts were excellent in both quality & quantity. 3) Room was comfortable & clean

Review 40:Bland soulless room with a shag pile carpet. Not a good choice in a hotel that allows pets. Far too hot as well. When I asked a breakfast room waitress where we should sit in English she answered in German, I apologised for my lack of German and she grunted sighed pointed backwards with her thumb and walked away. It didn't make me feel very welcome

Review 41:Location and reception staff

Review 42:Hotel charges extra for use of WiFi - €5 per day per connection. Downside of great location is the noise level coming from the river side (especially dance cruise boats). Elevator limited for size of hotel.

Review 43:Great location and great view of the river.

Review 44:Nice location on the East side of the river (perfect in warm summerdays). Very friendly personal and many hours spend at the balcony viewing the activities on the mosel and the life on the streets.

Review 45:No parking at hotel, "nickeled and dimed" to death with cash deposit required for a garage that is far from the hotel (At a cost of 14 euros per day when for 2 euros per day you can park across the river), 5 euros per day,per device for very spotty Internet access.

Review 46:Excellent location

Review 47:Car had to be parked far from hotel.

Review 48:Staff was very friendly Breakfast was very nice

Review 49:Parking is challenging

Review 50:Great location, very friendly staff

Review 51:Location and view of the Mosel River

Review 52:Rather noisy outside (very close to the river boat jetties) until late in the evening. Parking a little remote.

Review 53:The WiFi wasn't working well at all.

Review 54:Staff was very helpful.

Review 55:None.

Review 56:Excellent hotel, great position and staff vey helpful, very clean.

Review 57:Close proximity to centre of town with stunning views of the river.

Review 58:Location of the hotel, friendliness & helpfulness of the staff, every aspect of the hotel and area was very good.

Review 59:Nothing

Review 60:Location

Review 61:There was nothing I didn't like.

Review 62:Location and the friendliness of the staff. Food and drinks where excellent.

Review 63:The staff are friendly and competent. The river view rooms are wonderful. The restaurant is excellent.

Review 64:Hotel Staff supa-friendly and helpful, rooms a good size; high standard of cleanliness; idea central location; abundance of choice for breakfast

Review 65:The locationabd environment, restaurants around.

Review 66:Parking limited during wine festival. Had to park several blocks from hotel.

Review 67:Location is one of the best in town. Food is above average.

Review 68:The wifi didn't work well in the room.

Review 69:The rooms with a balcony have a great view to the river. The breakfast buffet. The cakes and the homemade ice cream. Very good coffee. The food served at the hotel restaurant

Review 70:Bar and restaurant closed at 9pm the shower was very small

Review 71:Lovely views across the river large comfortable and clean rooms helpful and friendly staff a good breakfast selection

Review 72:No free WiFi, and if you will pay for wifi, it is wery difficult to get online.

Review 73:Location on the bank of Moselle , fine rooms with balcony and view to the river. Fine breakfast.

Review 74:We found nothing to dislike.

Review 75:We stayed at this hotel with family, we found it to be very comfortable, extremely clean and staff where very helpful and friendly, we booked rooms with balconies, which had wonderful views of the Mosel. A buffet Breakfast was included in the price, which was very good and offered plenty of choices of hot and cold selections of food. The location of the hotel was excellent, very central to all attractions of this beautiful town. In all we found this hotel to be excellent value for money.

Review 76:Parking is a problem but this is not the fault of the Hotel

Review 77:The friendliness of the staff ( my wife was taken ill and they could not do enough for her) all of the staff were really good and the Hotel was spotlessly clean

Review 78:Many steps going into the hotel is hard to carry bags. Parking very limited, had to park in a garage several blocks away.

Review 79:Great location. Loved sitting on the terrace by the Mosel. Room was small but had a great view of the castle - which is lighted at night - beautiful. Cochem is a beautiful town.

Review 80:There wasn't anything we didn't like!

Review 81:A lovely location in the heart of Cochem. Also situated on the banks of the Moselle river and ideally placed for cruises or day trips on the Moselle. We loved the balcony restaurant. The hotel offered a great breakfast every morning and we dined in the hotel each evening as the food was excellent. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 82:The hotel location is excellent in Cochem. The staff was very friendly and competent. For myself, I especially liked the very fine breakfast service. Evening dinner service and terrace view is also excellent. I have stayed here many times and will return.

Review 83:no free WIFI

Review 84:very friendly lady in charge who readily changed our room as we didn't want no 13. other staff very friendly and loctaion is perfect. restuarant very good with excellent choice at breakfast

Review 85:We were offered the private parking but if you can get a spaceoutside it can work out cheaper. I didn't realise from the photoor the description that there was a flight of steps up to reception -we had quite a bit of luggage! Again, charged for wifi with seems tobecoming the norm.

Review 86:The location of the hotel is perfect - views of the river andvineyards from the balcony and easy walking distance for the shops, restaurants and amenities. The staff were really pleasant and helpfulas if nothing was too much for them. We had a spacious and comfortableroom with balcony.

Review 87:Maybe it was unusually hot weather, but we were boiled in the bedroom at night as there was no air conditioning. Beware the cobbles in Cochem if you are a high heel wearer!!

Review 88:Excellent location and breakfast choice. Very useful having the fridge

Review 89:The pillows, even with an extra one its hard to get comfortable, they are so soft. Wifi at the front of the hotel is very weak and hard to stay connected, annoying as its charged at €5 a day (which was refunded when I complained)

Review 90:Modernised hotel in fantastic location overlooking the Moselle river. Room was spacious and comfortable. Lovely to have a private terrace. Excellent breakfast buffet.

Review 91:10 Euro per hour wi-fi? Really? Most small hotels now offer free wi-fi, as do coffee shops, etc.

Review 92:Great location and the balcony views of the Mosel make this a great choice.

Review 93:No free wifi ( only charging hotel on a 2 week tour). Street parking.

Review 94:Large comfortable rooms with great views. Excellent breakfast.Perfect location.

Review 95:The purpose for our visit was the christmas market (but it was quite disappointingly small). The room we stayed in was spacious. We had a 22 month old baby and the hotel setup the sofa to a bed for my son to sleep without extra cost. The breakfast though simple but had smoked salmon and ham, which was great. And very fresh croissants. They had a sign "the best breakfast" - which I agree. The location was superb - walking distance to all the shops. The church bell didnt bother us at all (it stops after midnight).

Review 96:Highly recommend this gem of a hotel. Excellent location on riverfront in centre of picturesque town.  Very good breakfast. Easy parking in public spaces right outside hotel.  Lots of restaurants and shops on the doorstep. Friendly staff. We had a very pleasant stay and would choose this hotel again without hesitation.

Review 97:I do realize we were in a different country but it would be nice to havemaybe 1 English news channel. However, not a big deal but can't think ofanything we didn't like.

Review 98:We loved the location. It was convenient walk to everything. We booked aweek in advance so we were happy to even get a room. There weren't anyleft on the Moselle with balcony, but they gave us a Moselle view fromthe top floor with skylight. Not only did we get a view of the Mosellebut also of the castle. It was great. The room was very simple, butclean and the shower was nice. The views were great and the staff werevery friendly. I think it was a great value for the money!

Review 99:We regret that the hotel's explanation about the parking place was somewhat confusing and we paid an uncessary pakring fee, part of which was reimbursd by the hotel afterward.

Review 100:We enjoyed excellent dinner and tasteful wine at the hotel's retaurant. The view of the Mosel river from the terrace was very impressive. We are satisfied with the hotel's frendly and warm service.

Review 101:Only couple young waitress (2 young lady and 1 young man) were unfriendly, I don´t know why? One elder lady (brown hear) were very friendly.

Review 102:The view from the balcony was beautiful, room was clean, receptions´ young gentleman was very friendly. Breakfast and restaurangs food was good, wine was really good.

Review 103:Our room on the top floor booked as a "room with a direct view of the Mosel" sounded like the best in the hotel. It wasn't. The elevator goes to the fifth floor. The top floor is the sixth wirh many steep steps. The hotel staff did help with our bags. The lower five floor rooms have nice balconies. Six has none.

Review 104:Location, location, location. Directly over the Mosel River and in the heart of the nicest town. Inexpensive restauarnt near bye. Exc bkft at the hotel. Cochem is the Find of our 90-day rour.

Review 105:Very good breakfast. Our room had a balcony with a fantastic view of the river.

Review 106:We had a "Garden View" room but really it was a view of the backside of the stores....

Review 107:Wonderful location and close to shops

Review 108:We loved the location, food was delicieus especially breakfast. Staff was very friendly and it was a great experience overall.

Review 109:Mini-bar, no beaverages or drinks inside the fridgerator

Review 110:Good breakfast table.

Review 111:None

Review 112:A great place for sightseeing and wine tasting. The hotel has a very good restaurant and a very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Review 113:Pillows were too soft but that's being picky.

Review 114:Really nice and friendly staff, very good location, great view.

Review 115:They said call if checking in after 6:00 pm? I called, but they said noproblem anyway...

Review 116:Nice place in Cochem.

Review 117:steps up to entrance from street level

Review 118:excellent location heaters on terrace excellent management

Review 119:Location is excellent for tourism. Breakfast quality is excellent with mabny choices.
