Reviews for Hotel zur Post
Review 1:It was very warm that week and we would have loved a fan in the room
Review 2:Great location and breakfast was great. Next door to a good pizza place and nice restaurant owned by a family. We stayed in the family room which was just right for he four of us.
Review 3:There were quite a few stairs to climb before we got to our room. There is no fridge in the room, forget air con. Still, we felt very good there!
Review 4:Classical German hotel with a very good location. The rooms are quite big.
Review 5:i would say the only negative is no air conditioning but that's very standard for Europe 3 star hotels. But it was really not much of a negative because nights were cool!
Review 6:the location is great although the town of Bacharach is easy to navigate from most points. Easy check in and check out and it was a hearty breakfast!
Review 7:The facility needs to update, everything is a little too old. The tv doesn't work, the whole town is closed because the seasons ( not the hotel's fault) we have to go to sleep early.
Review 8:The location, breakfast is good.
Review 9:One staff on. Needed young person or male to carry heavy bags. No elevator. Ok but not special breakfast. Carpet in need of cleaning throughout halls and stairs.
Review 10:Central location. Attractive building.
Review 11:It would have be nice to have a hot pot in the room for tea at night There is no open common lounge area, which I personally like to sit in & relax sometimes
Review 12:Down to the superb cozy down pillow & comforter, great location, middle of town, and away from noise of train & main road
Review 13:The lady that runs the hotel was very kind and nice to us. We had just flown in from overseas and taken a train to Bacharach and were exhausted and she carried my luggage up the steps for me. How very thoughtful and extremely appreciated!!!
Review 14:No elevator to help with luggage which if you're on the top floor is a workout.
Review 15:Clean room and adequate size for the two of us. Our room had a balcony which was nice. The bathroom is small but very clean and modern. Breakfast is included. Near everything in town.
Review 16:The bathroom was TOO small. Not enough room to sit on toilet without my knees hitting the shower enclosure at 5'10". The breakfast was ok, Typical European style. We've had better in our travels through Europe. Also, make sure you ask the host about wifi because we didn't know it was offered until breakfast the next day.
Review 17:The hotel was nice for what we needed. Very basic, clean stay for one night. The host was kind. She let us keep our luggage in the hotel after check out to take some pictures of the town.
Review 18:Basic toiletries were severely lacking. No replacements for used packet shampoo/soap. Bring your own. The stairs were absolutely challenging even without luggage.
Review 19:It is a 5 min brisk walk to the station. A very basic B&B which has everything to make one comfortable with no indulgences. It is good that there is too much to do than to stay in the room. The breakfast is decent for the price we paid.
Review 20:No elevator, narrow stairs. Could be a problem if you did not pack lightly. Off site parking for 6 euro/day
Review 21:Wonderful staff and excellent included breakfast.
Review 22:No WiFi. Stair climb could be an issue for guests on top floor (3 flights of stairs).
Review 23:Excellent staff. Very attentive to our needs and helpful. Fantastic location in town. Big rooms. Nice breakfast.
Review 24:Slow WiFi, only provided one small packet of shampoo/body soap per guest.
Review 25:Great location, charming ambiance at the dining room for breakfast, and helpful staff.
Review 26:It didn't bother us, but the hotel has narrow staircases which might not be suitable for some guests.
Review 27:Excellent location in a beautiful town. Serene and picturesque.
Review 28:This hotel was in a great location and is adorable. The owner is AMAZING. She waited up for us to check in as our train arrived quite late and she served a delicious breakfast each morning. While it is served buffet style, she was very attentive and brought fresh coffee/tea to the table for you. The room was cozy and perfect for our needs.
Review 29:The room was nice and spacious, location was perfect; walking distance from the train station, city center and Schloss. Great value for the price!
Review 30:Wonderful location, comfortable beds and friendly staff.
Review 31:Charming view out over the rooftops of Bacharach and proximity to station.
Review 32:Very friendly staff, beautiful old building.
Review 33:Very nice hostess in a central location. Quaint hotel but very clean and comfortable (if you don't mind the stairs).
Review 34:location and friendliness of staff
Review 35:I really don't have anything negative to say.
Review 36:The hotel was right in the center of Bacharch. The hotel keeper was very helpful.
Review 37:With windows open, nice breeze, but noisy traffic.
Review 38:Breakfast was superior! Room was large. Host was very gracious, carried my bag up stai
Review 39:no near by car park no lift very steep stairs difficult to take up ur luggage

Review 49:high room rate
Review 50:half-timbered house, friendly host, proximity to a good restaurant
Review 51:Great location, comfortable and clean room, friendly owner
Review 52:Too much for very basic room and very basic breakfast. Other hotels in town may be a better value.
Review 53:Friendliness. Warmth and lovely breakfast
Review 54:Advertised as a hotel,,,when in fact it is called a Bed and Breakfast at the location,,,but unlike other bed and breakfast no common area to sit in other than breakfast room,,from 8-930 It was pretty small..
Review 55:loved the owner
Review 56:Long staircase up to room! But, not a problem.
Review 57:This was a charming, small hotel in a beautiful setting. It was clean, comfortable, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Review 58:Rooms were nice and very clean but only had one small picture on the walls. Maybe add a larger picture of one of the many great scenes of the town or river.
Review 59:Good location on the Main Street and near the train station and river boat docks. Good breakfast in a spacious and attractive dining area.
Review 60:We booked a family room and had a very pleasant stay. Everything was spotlessly clean and quiet. We slept very comfortably. Our hostess was very friendly and helpful. A convenient walk to both the train station and the K-D boat dock, as well as to other sights along the Rhein. Highly recommend this hotel and a visit to Bacharach!
Review 61:This hotel was very cozy and was in a great location. The ownerspoke English well and was very helpful! She cooked breakfast for usin the morning (free of charge) and made us feel like we werestaying in her home.
Review 62:There is no Wi-Fi, but an internet close at the TI. Knowing this in advance, it created no problem!
Review 63:This is the second time that I have stayed at Hotel Zur Post and I will return again next year. Ute is always friendly and helpful and her breakfasts always top notch. I could not recommend her and her Hotel more highly!!
Review 64:Accommodations were a quad room and very uninviting with a 1950s b&w tv . The walls were barren and place totally up appealing. Breakfast was very limited and only served from 8-9. Never return or recommend the quad. Way overpriced.
Review 65:Location was good
Review 66:The hotel don't have lift. we arrive at 11pm because the train delays. Our room is at level 4 and we have to carry our luggage to our room. So consider whether to stay if you have heavy luggage.
Review 67:The location is very good. Staff are very nice.
Review 68:Breakfast was a bit limited by German standards. Lack of an elevator could be a problem from some.
Review 69:Excellent location in the centre of the village. Very spacious and comfortable room.
Review 70:The hotel has a lot of stairs which is difficult for carrying up luggage and small children. It would also be difficult/ almost impossible for a disabled or frail person.
Review 71:We didn't see much of the host but check in and check out were straight forward. The rooms were comfortable and we were provided with 2 cots as requested. The breakfast was minimal but fine. Bacharach is absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed looking at the shops and also the carousel for drinks and snacks. We had dinner at a pub and found that it is more known for its beer than its food but still ok meals. Great location to explore this beautiful village and close to the river so you can arrive by river boat.
Review 72:Rooms were very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was ample and very nice included in price. They very happily stored our bikes inside for our stay at the hotel and this was not a problem at all. In fact, nothing was a problem for the lovely owner - she was very very nice.
Review 73:This hotel is in a great location along the Rhine River in the quaint city of Bacharach. The room was clean, comfortable, quiet and fairly priced. The breakfast was very adequate.
Review 74:Suggest taking the 11am tour on the Rhine with the kd company toBacharack arrive 3.30 pm Stay longer or leave next day by train. Boattour free if using Euro Rail pass.
Review 75:Very convenient location, right in the center of Bacharach. Beds were very comfortable, breakfast was good. The bathrooms were quite roomy and modern for an older European style hotel.
Review 76:Uta made everything very nice. She was most hospitable & made us feel very welcome! Uta was delightful & Bacharach was a great place to visit!!!
Review 77:Nothing to not like. It served its purpose as a stopping point down theRhine River. Bacharach is better suited for a day trip than anovernight stay.
Review 78:We are a family of 4 - 2 boys ages 13 and 7 and stayed there in July2013. This hotel is in town on the Main Street near shops andrestaurants and away from the train noise. Bacharach is small so walkingthe town in an hour is realistic. You won't find a fancy hotel here. This hotel is in a historic building with lots of charm. It wasaccommodating for the four of us in a quad room with simple, practicaldecor and a reasonable sized bathroom considering it's Europe and ina historic building. The room was clean and comfortable with firm bedsand soft pillows. A standard European continental breakfast was includedserved in a lovely, cozy room. There were many families staying therewith children younger than ours and they too seemed well accommodated.Keep in mind lots of steps and some very narrow which may be an issuefor disabilities or those unable to handle many steps.
Review 79:We really enjoyed our stay here. The breakfast was delicious, the staff friendly, and the town quite pleasant. It was a little bit of a walk from the train station, but nothing too terrible. We would stay here again.
Review 80:No elevators, but we knew that going in. Staff was very helpful with luggage.
Review 81:The staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful. Close to train station and in te heart of town.
Review 82:It was quite a haul to get the bags up three flights of stairs - suggest if you are travelling by car as we were that you pack an overnight bag and leave the case/s in the car.
Review 83:Ideal location in a beautiful town. Good service and breakfast. Room and facilities clean and comfortable but fairly basic as you might expect in an older hotel. Parking free - an easy 2-minute walk away by the river.
Review 84:breakfast started late at 8am. 6:30 or 7am would be better.
Review 85:convenience to boat cruises, bike and walking path along the river and proximity to excellent restaurants
Review 86:Concerned abt third floor room and fire safety. Also it was a high, steep staircase with questionable railins betweem 2 and 3. (It wasprobably the 4th floor in the European floor-numbering system.)
Review 87:Ambiance.
Review 88:the owner was most accomadating and helpful with fun tips. Clean, quiet, comfortabe, and wonderful breakfast Bacharach is a delightful town on the Rhine, beautiful scenery and architecture with friendly people, great food
Review 89:There is no elevator and no air onditioning.
Review 90:Very friendly owner and very good breakfast. Room was very nice and comfortable.
Review 91:This was our first stop in Germany. The hotel is lovely and the breakfast was always fresh and varied. Ute was very helpful with directions.
Review 92:No elevator, but staff carried my luggage up and down.
Review 93:Pleasant staff and nice room. I am sorry that I stayed one night.
Review 94:Wireless internet access could have been better.
Review 95:Comfortable room. Very clean and well maintained. Nice breakfast. Warm and welcoming service.
Review 96:No elevator so we had to carry our bags to the third floor.
Review 97:Clean, very friendly owner and good breakfast.
Review 98:Very homey, good service, beds were very comfortable.
Review 99:Excellent location. Spacious comfortable room.
Review 100:Terrific location in the small, picturesque medieval town of Bacharach in one of the most interesting and picturesque parts of the Rhein River
Review 101:Very nice rooms. Good breakfast. Historical setting.
Review 102:very friendly owner, a clean and comfortable no frills room in a charming town on the upper middle Rhine.
Review 103:Friendly host and location. Clean.
Review 104:Good breakfast. Great location in the heart of town but facing away from train noise. Nice balconies which are rare in Bacharach.
Review 105:I liked that Hotel zur Post took us back in time, the room was comfy and breakfast was served in a traditional setting.
