Reviews for The Fairmont Waterfront
Review 1:The reception always has ONE staff only, if you want to do anything quick - you have to try your luck.
Review 2:- Rooms are clean and well decorated, the connecting rooms are good for traveling with kids. - Convenience location, walking distance to the downtown area and shopping malls.
Review 3:The hotel did not have an indoor pool. For this class of hotels one would expect to have an indoor pool. It was too cold outside to use the outdoor pool. Buffet breakfast at the Arc restaurant was very pricey when compared to the choices that were offered.
Review 4:Waterfront location! Staff upgraded my room without me asking for it, so when I arrived a room with a beautiful garden view was awaiting me, which was nice.
Review 5:Booked christmas dinner in the restaurant well before my trip. Was left waiting over 45 minutes. Saw many other later arrivals seated before us. They charge for wifi. The 2 other hotels i stayed in had complimentary wifi.
Review 6:Our bed was hard and pillows were uncomfortable. Might be #champagneproblems but when you pay to stay at a Fairmont hotel you expect the best.
Review 7:Great Loaction! Great Staff!
Review 8:Pillows too thick. Should offer one thick and one thin instead of two thick
Review 9:Beautiful hotel in scenic harbor area next to Canada Place. Staff were exceptionally pleasant and professional. Rooms furnished beautifully. Extremely quiet for wonderful, restful sleep. Great room service.
Review 10:The purpose of our trip was to go to the hockey game the skytrain made it very accessible to and from and being a Boston fan to see players staying in the same hotel was over the top
Review 11:Bed too short and uncomfortable Coffee terrible [in room and restuarant] Paying for business centre and its poor space and location
Review 12:convenient situation Staff nice and helpful
Review 13:All
Review 14:Very attentive staff, courteous place was clean as a whistle, room was comforatble, food good, room service quick....most of all centrally located and walk to everything.... so happy with my choice here will come back
Review 15:The hotel shut down the pool and steam room for "routine maintenance", providing less than 48 hours notice. They gave a number to call, but when I called this number, I was told that I would either have to walk across the street to use a pool, or that I could just "make do with other amenities". Unfortunately, no one from Fairmont really seemed willing to help me address my concerns over the fact that I wasn't told about 'routine annual maintenance' when I booked the hotel.
Review 16:The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. The room was as advertised, with no major maintenance issues.
Review 17:Downstairs restaurant was great, best latte I've ever had. Location was perfect, lots going on and great bars all within walking distance. The hotel cars that will drop and pick you up was a nice touch.
Review 18:Location, hotel and staff were amazing. Went for a solo run and when back the personnel at the door was waiting for the runners to provide bottles of water and fresh towels
Review 19:The breakfast was fine in the club lounge , but the food in the bar was not up to 5 star standard.
Review 20:We enjoyed the central location and the staff attention was first class. Bedroom was large and the bed very comfortable
Review 21:Dinner menu could have been better presented by the chef
Review 22:Location was the best--gave us an advantage to move in every direction via readily accessible transport.
Review 23:it was very expensive and in addition to the room rates you have to calculate nearly 100$ in extra taxes and fees per night which I was unaware of earlier. Lastly, I was offered a better view room if I was willing to change my regular room booked with city views for pull out sofa mini room. Unfortunately that turned out to be a disappointment as I had issues sleeping over the next 3 nights on that sofa but I felt I was short changed and wished I was given the option to see the room before deciding on that. Since the hotel was overbooked I had no option to go back on my decision. For the money I spent this didn't feel right.
Review 24:location was great and the staff was extremely kind and friendly
Review 25:nothing!
Review 26:near to evey where! if you wish to bike to Stanley park, take a city tour or bridge or mountain tours all departure exactly from the front of hotel. Metro station is exactly nearby of hotel with direct connection to airport. Especial thank from Ms Kim Ghomez and her colleages in fermunt gold for hospitality.
Review 27:Vancouver's known park, Stanley Park was kind of far. However The hotel made up for it by provindong us with modern Courtesy bicycles.
Review 28:The hotel location from the link station was so close, we walked. Our room was on the the 22nd floor, corner room. We had the BEST view of the City and Water, it was amazing! All the staff were friendly, the concierge assists us on dinner reservations, and gave us maps for the following morning. room service was delicious, variety of choices from comfort food to junk or healthy food. all very affortable
Review 29:There was nothing to dislike.
Review 30:Great hotel, helpful and knowledgable staff when needed, rooms spotless, comfortable and a stunning view. It also smelt wonderful every time you walked in!
Review 31:The bed was not real comfortable. We like a topper 3 inch mattress and your bed was too stiff.
Review 32:Awesome people and stay. Risa Miyake and her team were just outstanding. Your team at the door handling our car were very pleasant and helpful. We loved our stay and would choose to stay with you again and recommend the Fairmont Waterfront! Your
Review 33:Had a bad experience with check in/check out. Staff overcharged us and we're extremely unhelpful in regard to refund and patronising. Basically incompetent. We weren't given an apology or offered any compensation for the huge inconvenience.
Review 34:Extremely expensive for mediocre service and mediocre breakfast. Room charge around 600 $ and they want to make you pay for Internet. Charged a bottle of water 7.50 $! Staff unfriendly and with an attitude. Noisy clients screaming in the hallway at 7am. Worst superluxury hotel experience in my life
Review 35:Location
Review 36:There is nothing that I would complain about - only wished the rates were a bit more affordable - really blew the budget on this one
Review 37:loved the location - right across the road from Canada Place and Trade Center - lots to watch and do right outside the door. Also when we checked in hotel desk went out of her way to place us in a room with a "city view" that also had a view of the waterfront - totally awesome - thank you
Review 38:Square Wooden Edges of bed were dangerous when walking past. Shower not great Tax added on afterwards for everything
Review 39:Politeness of staff exceptional Presidents Club excellent Easy location
Review 40:Charging what they do, I think Fairmont could afford free wi-if; it is hardly cutting edge technology nowadays.
Review 41:This is a justifiably pricey hotel but the quality of service is superior to any of the ten hotels I have stayed at during my three week stay in Canada. Without exception, every member of the Staff treat you like Royalty.
Review 42:Gave us room with excellent view but no bed. Could not get similar room with same view and had to settle for one on a lower floor. Original room was on 18th floor, replacement room was on 10th floor.
Review 43:Excellent buffet breakfast Good location Good view
Review 44:The location! Across the street from the Cruise Terminal. And the mattresses was wonderful with curtains that really makes the room dark! a Good thing if you travel from another part of the world and there is a time difference!
Review 45:Breakfast is very expensive at the hotel and is not included in the price
Review 46:That it's a 5 star hotel but they charged you from a bottle of water in your room, wifi and parking plus all the Canadian taxes!!
Review 47:The location was the only good thing about this hotel
Review 48:I thought $13.05 plus tax per day for wi-fi Internet access was excessive, particularly as the service seemed shaky and dropped out on a number of occasions over 3 days. The trend in other major hotels (at least overseas) is to free Internet access.
Review 49:The thermostat did not work in my room. I was a hot night. Since I checked in after 8 PM, I didn't finish with dinner until 10:30 PM. I really didn't want maintenance in my room that late at night so I chose to report this the following morning. The next night, My room had the perfect temperature.
Review 50:I couldn't have found a better location. It was ideal which allowed for very pleasurable walks along the water and downtown. The staff also provides outstanding customer service.
Review 51:Fantastic location and excellent view of Vancouver Harbour from our room. The ARC restaurant was great with amazing food. All the staff were lovely and this was a great first night to our honeymoon.
Review 52:The heavy down duvet on the bed. It's way to heavy and the a/c never got the air cold enough to be able to use it. So therefore, you froze all night with the sheet or would sweat it out using the duvet.
Review 53:We stayed on the club level floor and thought that the amenities and friendly, attentive staff were worth every penny spent. Will definitely stay at The Faimont again when looking for accommodations.
Review 54:The hotel has a lot going for it, but it's still awfully pricey! The extra cost of the executive floor or gold service or whatever it's called was well worth it, on the other hand.
Review 55:After traveling in asia for 3 months, I wanted a day or two to decompress before returning to reality. This hotel was marvelous for that. Located right across from the cruise ship terminal it was an easy walk. My room on the Executive floor was ready, even 'tho I arrived early in the morning. Checkin was super easy and fast. I ate breakfast and "dinner" in the executive lounge - -the outstanding food in the lounge, wifi and access to comfortable chairs and stunning views on the terrace were well worth the extra cost. The savory snacks in the evening were especially outstanding (plenty for a light meal). The room was beautiful and immensely comfortable. The whole thing was especially welcome after spending so long is a little cruise-ship cabin with a salt-water-smeared window and lousy wifi! The staff were so kind and helpful, helping me quickly organize the last bit of my trip.
Review 56:The pool and the jacuzzi is a but dirty... It seems that it hasn't been clean for a while...
Review 57:I will definitely stay in a Fairmount for my next trip. Very friendly staff.
Review 58:Only downside was the cost of parking. In my opinion the cost of the parking should be included in the cost of the room.
Review 59:Hotel staff were very welcoming and the location was outstanding. The room had an unbelievable view and the bed was beyond comfortable. I will stay here again
Review 60:Limited choice at breakfast in gold lounge were told it would cost more if we went to main breakfast which is unusual
Review 61:Gold lounge staff and doorman and generally friendly staff Great view of harbour from room
Review 62:Nice short walk across the street from the cruise terminal and perfect location to enjoy Vancouver waterfront and Gastown all within walking distance. Short trip by taxi back to the airport the next day.
Review 63:Pull out sofa bed (substituting as bed)wasn't fantastic and meant one couldn't benefit from convenient bedside table and light
Review 64:Brilliant harbour view. Attractive and clean room and bathroom
Review 65:I did not have a bad experience except that the prices in the rest "the Arc" were high but I guess that's Vancouver-no carte d'hote menu ,everything a la carte
Review 66:I had a super room with a great view.I wanted to spend as much time as possible in it.The maids that did my room were all very good
Review 67:For such an expensive hotel, in 2015 should have free in-room wifi.
Review 68:Building and facilities, food, etc. all very good. Rooms very modern, well done and comfortable, great view, very convenient to cruise ship docks and to walk around the harbor.
Review 69:Paid WiFi.. Paid parking
Review 70:Excellent location.. Good value for money comparing with other hotels.. Very luxurious.. Definitely I will stay again with this hotel
Review 71:For an upscale hotel, I would have expected more in the details such as better quality blow dryers that actually provide a higher heat to dry one's hair quicker, cotton balls & q-tips, less scented soaps, shampoos and body lotions, more facecloths.
Review 72:The location is most excellent, the rooms clean and comfy, the staff friendly and helpful.
Review 73:Our room was gorgeous!! All of the staff were so friendly and helpful And the BED!!! Unreal... Thank you so much for such a special Valentines Day!!!
Review 74:i stayed in 906 on the gold lounge level. everything was good exept the walls are paper thin, for $300 plus a night I dont expect to hear my neighbor flushing the toilet or hearing them talking........... apart from that, service was good
Review 75:Parking and Wi-Fi were extra costs. For the price paid for the hotel, this seemed excessive as extra fees. Also, the room air was really dry. Kind of a weird comment, but had me with a dry throat all night trying to sleep.
Review 76:Amazing weekend away with my honey for his birthday. The staff was wonderfully friendly, especially our bartender and the restaurant staff. Our stay was comfortable, relaxing, and had lovely view of the harbor. We will definitely be back!
Review 77:We loved the location of the hotel and also the view it gave us of the harbour. We were there for one night on our honeymoon & they gave us an amazing view =) the restaurant downstairs was amazing!
Review 78:-no complimentary wif-fi, if you wanted it, it was 13.95 per day plus tax. felt this was a gouge.you couldn't even get it in the lobby. -could have had a small table & chairs in the room. if room service was requested or just to write, there was no place to sit & do this.
Review 79:the bed & pillows were so comfortable that it was hard to get up every morning. the double room was spacious & very clean. the bathroom was like being at home & it was nice to have a tub, not just a shower.
Review 80:I like everything, its a perfect place to stay,
Review 81:I like the location which is really accessible to everywhere,i like the staff they're very nice and always smiling which is a good factor, they're very pleasant and helpful and very energetic, all i can say is i had a good time staying in fairmont hotel, the hotel smells so good, its fresh and very cozy, the bed is amazing and clean,i feel safe and comfortable during my stay, its an excellent place,i will definitely recommend this hotel to all of my friends and family members,
Review 82:Leaving
Review 83:Location right on the waterfront, near shops and restaurants downtown. Beautiful views of the mountains and bridges. Great restaurant with wonderful, friendly staff. Rooms have wonderful media centers for plugging in devices; complete with various cables. Nice gym with great views, indoor and year round outdoor pools. This place is loaded.
Review 84:1) We loved everything in this hotel.
Review 85:1) The staff services are perfect, kind and very helpful. We loved it! 2) Excellent room 3) Location was perfect! 4) Breakfeast and food are great. Also the hotel produces honey!
Review 86:No towels provided on second day- had to call room service to get them. No conditioner provided on second day.
Review 87:Reception staff were very helpful and got me straighteners
Review 88:Had hoped (and requested) queen or king bed but ended up with 2 doubles. Could have requested change for the remaining three days but didn't want to bother moving. Always the add-ons- approx $15/day for wireless (selling air ??), parking at nearly $40/day (not unreasonable I guess since it is downtown Vancouver. The enticing bottles of water on the counter would appear free, but no, $7.50 each. Tap water is fine thank you. Make the wireless charge disappear or hide it in the cost or give it complimentary considering the beds we had asked for were unavailable. I would have felt happier if some effort had been made by staff at the desk. Wireless is a very 'soft' cost.
Review 89:Terrific location and view as promised.
Review 90:Personally I think a kettle and sachets of coffee etc would be far better than the nespresso coffee machine which never allow you to make a nice large cup of coffee.
Review 91:The gold lounge and its outstanding staff that work there. they are a great asset to the hotel . A good location on the waterfront near the shops and conference centres.
Review 92:Staff didn't really go 'out of their way' to make sure I was looked after, seeing as this is a Fairmont hotel I feel the staff were not up to scratch or as high calibre which is expected from the brand.
Review 93:Location Bell boy was the nicest staff at the hotel
Review 94:A bit too pricey. And could not extend even one more day because the entire hotel was booked solid. Too crowded everywhere - feel like a grand central station every time we pass through the lobby.
Review 95:Great location and very convenient to walk around the waterfront area and close proximity to many restaurants and tour buses.
Review 96:The rooms are large and well appointed and the beds the most comfortable I have ever slept in. the staff are very well trained and make you feel as if you are the most important client ever.
Review 97:My early check in was very convenient and having my keys ready at the bell hop made everything easy. Email notification of room readiness was impressive.
Review 98:Lobby was very limited in space.
Review 99:I really liked that the staff accommodated us after our cruise by holding our luggages until it was time to leave. Even though we stayed a week before in the hotel.
Review 100:I didn't like that the wifi was $13 a day! We ordered breakfast and it wasn't good at all and was far over priced.
Review 101:Loved the friendly staff always happy to help!!
Review 102:Largely overpriced. (I paid over $500 Cdn for one night) The room’s harbor view was, well, Vancouver harbor featuring loads of lovely freights -not as I had anticipated (but that’s my fault). The online shot of the building looks gorgeous, but when I was physically there, I didn’t find it that attractive. The room, the facilities… supposedly a Five Star, but it seemed more like a Four. It’s just missing the “wow” factor. A note about its restaurant: “Arc” gets a “thumbs down.” Mediocre food, and again, overpriced. It felt like the staff tried too hard but just couldn’t do it well. A Beef Carpaccio dish came right out of the fridge and was really, really cold. Could have used 15-20 minutes to bring it closer to room temperature, not just a minute or two like the Chef said.
Review 103:The location was great, it’s a Fairmont Hotel, and I’m glad I finally got to check it out.
Review 104:We had a room with a door to another room, that was really noisy. THis is the only bad thing.
Review 105:The Fairmont Waterfront is an excellent hotel, great sheets, great smell in the lobby, great location, great pool and we were helped superbly by the two ladies of the Concierge. Very patient and helpful and kind.
Review 106:We were "upgraded" to a "terrace room" which was supposed to have the King bed we had reserved. Smallest King Bed ever! It had to be a double! Make sure of any upgrade offered!
Review 107:Great location and facilities. Easy to find and get into. ARC restaurant very good.
Review 108:A little pricey
Review 109:The view from our room was amazing loved the location it was walking distance to everything. The pool was great and the staff were exceptional!
Review 110:Upgrading to Gold level on 8th or 9th floor was wealth worth the 33% increase in room rate and valet parking included. Provided access to beautiful views of waterfront, private happy hour and breakfast service while staff pampered you with extra special service with a smile!! Personal favorite Fairmont in Vancouver... Careful when booking as we learned there are three locations!!!
Review 111:very hard to be negative...food and drink expensive at hotel but in line with others of this quality plenty of choice a short stroll from the hotel for all types of food and drink
Review 112:the location excellent for buses and sky train for touring the city and transfer to the airport. pool small but great for a quick swim with the kids gym small but functional
Review 113:WiFi need payment, no breakfast, short stuff in room, too expensive and not worth it, more than 2800 Canadian Dollar, and looks just worth 800 dollar, nothing but expensive. 好贵,一点也不值得,最好别定,房间东西也不够,除了我写的优点以外,一无是处。
Review 114:Great location, nice staff, large room. 位置很不错,很多地方走路能到,离斯坦福公园很近,员工服务态度不错,房间很大.
Review 115:Great location especially if you are boarding cruise ships. Staff was great.Very convenient when our luggage was taken to cruise ship for us.Very clean with nice lounge.
Review 116:Too many kids running around using the gym under age and unsupervised in the hot tub Accident waiting to happen and irritating for adults trying to relax
Review 117:Nice staff Great location
Review 118:Quite a few kids at the pool in the evening, but then we went there and spent the morning and there were no kids.
Review 119:We stayed in a deluxe king with harbor view and the room did not dissapoint in any way: 18th floor ( out of 22), spectacular view, large room, great mattress and sheets, great shower head. It was one of the best rooms we've had in Vancouver and we've stayed at many nice hotels there before. The pool on the roof top was heated and clean, and it was a pretty good size to enjoy a swim.
Review 120:The signature brisket was tough...
Review 121:The room was nicely appointed, the beds excellent, and the view off the charts. We are picky and would definitely return, to a harbour view room.
Review 122:I ordered a $20 cheese burger by the pool. The bun was burnt! A total rip off. Server was friendly and attentive. Pool is quite small and very crowded on a nice day.
Review 123:Great location. Room decor and size is great.
Review 124:The Fairmont is full of courteous, helpful, happy employees. ALL the staff are top notch and professional. The Arc dining room is wonderful. The Fairmont location is super.
Review 125:Water view room had a magnificent view.
Review 126:Great location, great view. Very friendly staff and very accommodating.
Review 127:The bed was so comfortable
Review 128:There is no washroom in lobby.
Review 129:Comvincence
Review 130:Hot tub was too hot.
Review 131:Location and very clean facility. Loved the steam room
