Reviews for Steeger Weinstube

Review 1:Alles OK

Review 2:Nice ambiente, a neat traditional Gasthaus, like I remember it from when I was a child. You can't find those pubs in many places around central europe anymore, very nice furnishing in the public area. Nice location!

Review 3:Location chosen as Guest House, but was closed for the evening of arrival. So no food and no refershments available from the host that evening. The floor of the shower room was lifting and tiles very loose. The shower head fittings were incompatable and hence need to hand hold shower i.e. could not self support. Very unsatisfactory.

Review 4:Good size room and clean. The breakfast was good and well presented.

Review 5:We arrived about 2 pm. The only room was up 3 flights with no lift. My wife has a serious heart problem and nearly collapsed with the walk up the stairs. The lady at the hotel was also concerned, offered to get my wife a drink of water and agreed the room would not work for us. She said she would take care of the cancellation and suggested we go to the visitor's office to get information on other nearby hotels, which we did. She was extremely understanding and concerned. We should have been told it was a 3 story walk up.

Review 6:Decor does need modernising - but hard to complain when it's so cheap! Lighting v dim in bedroom.

Review 7:V simple, but wonderful host. So kind, helpful and friendly. V good breakfast. So quiet and peaceful - incredibly deep sleep!

Review 8:nothing really

Review 9:Hotel positioned a short walk into medieval town of Bacharach

Review 10:Friendly owner very helpful

Review 11:Located a bit outside Bacharach, but within easy reach by car. Simple hotel, but a wonderful host! Personally made sure we had all the comfort available. Very good, solid kitchen (the owner is a professional cook)! We would stay there again!

Review 12:I could not pay by cash, but it was the same in the neighbouring area.

Review 13:Excellent breakfast !!!!!! Excellent temperature in the bedrooms! Good price! Easily accessible by car

Review 14:Would only accept cash as the credit card machine was "broken"

Review 15:Beatiful setting near quaint town of Bacharach. Clean and quiet room and good breakfast. Manager was very nice.

Review 16:just trying to figure out how to get up the hill with suitcases, so make sure you have the phone number handy and give him a call.

Review 17:The host was awesome, picked us up and returned us to the train station as the location is a bit of an uphill hike. he offered to give us rides at other times as well. very nice breakfast, wi-fi, TV, etc. The town of Bacharach is great and the B&B is is a nice walk (partly uphill) to the castle with superb views.

Review 18:Rooms were not very clean, lot of dust and even spider webs. Price exagerated. Breakfast pretty poor.

Review 19:The owner/receptionist was very friendly and open.

Review 20:The hotel is old and needs to be redecorated, the carpets are dusty. The restaurant looks shabby.

Review 21:It has a very nice owner, he tries to make your stay comfortable. The food was good, we had breakfast and dinner. The room was large with a very good bed and a couch to sit on.

Review 22:It was a little outside of Bacharach, we were traveling by train so the walk from the train station to the hotel was about 30minutes. On the flip side we called to let them know we were going to be late, and the owner came and picked us up.

Review 23:The room was large with its own bathroom, very nice a quite. The owner is very nice and welcoming. He picked us up from the train station and also dropped us off again the day we were leaving. He also serviced us a German breakfast each morning of our stay.

Review 24:The hotel's card machine wasn't working so we had to pay cash!

Review 25:Bacharach is a lovely village, hidden from main roads. The hotel was a little way out of it which made a nice ride down to the river in the morning

Review 26:Much further from town than we thought over a mile away. On our lastmorning although check out was 11 we were asked to leave by 10.

Review 27:Old town attractions.

Review 28:We went off season and were the only the only tourists in the hotel and villages, despite this the owner was more than accommodating and strived to help our every need. Also very good breakfasts.

Review 29:The only unfortunate thing we experienced was that much of Bacharach wasclosed, but the locals made us feel extremely welcome as did our host.

Review 30:Our host was extremely friendly and helpful. We were pretty much theonly tourists in town and many shops were closed, so he let us use hiskitchen to cook our lunch and dinner. He also drove us to the shops andhelped us with location finding. The breakfast he cooked us everymorning was incredible!

Review 31:Nice little place with clean & spacious rooms. However the Hotel is about 1.2km from Bacharach but its just a short walk & on the way you can see already parts of the old village, castle, etc. Make sure the restaurant is open when you book; they do serve nice home cooked meals.

Review 32:The only problem is it's a bit far from the center of the town, about 2 KM I guess? And unfortunately not taking credit card.

Review 33:The staff of this hotel is extremely friendly and speaks very good English. It's a quite, clean and cozy hotel overall, and the quality of the breackfast was quite good too. The town itself is soooo amazing & romantic. Compeltely fariy tale scenery. The whether was perfect as well. Overall too good to be ture! Had a wonderful weekend there, and I'm sure will come back a lot more times in the future! :)

Review 34:Very basic, in vicinity better rooms available price qualitiy wise.

Review 35:The location was better than we expected it to be. Within walking distance to the touristic town of Bacharach, and yet nicely located in a wine farminig village. Peaceful and quiet and well located to have small hikes.

Review 36:Two of the towels smelled off, like they had been left in the washing machine for too long. They were quickly exchanged for fresh towels upon asking though.

Review 37:Very friendly proprietor, who gave us water after our hot trek up the hill and told us we should have phoned him and he would have picked us up from the station, which we will definitely do next time - the hills are lovely but not on a hot afternoon with heavy backpacks! Free Wi-fi was available, the location is beautiful and the room very comfortable. Breakfast was very nice with much choice.

Review 38:The owner of the hotel was most gracious. He picked us up and brought usto the hotel. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the area isbeautiful. He also took us into town so we could have dinner and gave usinformation for a taxi. In fact, he took us to the kd lines for a rideon the Rhine. A most accomodating person and a lovely place to visit.

Review 39:The price good value for the money and friendly staff
