Reviews for Hotel am Hafen

Review 1:Have nothing to report here, I am happy to say.

Review 2:We expected one room with a balcony overlooking the river and received two connecting rooms with two balconies! That was a nice surprise and very welcome development! We also enjoyed our breakfasts downstairs, delicious and plentiful, eggs made to order. Location of this hotel could not have been better, walking distance to everything, so we did not have to drive at all during our stay. Highly recommend this hotel!

Review 3:I don't think it was anyone's fault but there was a heat wave while we were there. The hotel didn't have any way to keep cool, not even fans for the rooms to move the air.

Review 4:The view of the village of Cochem and the castle on the hill is amazing. Our room was large and comfortable, clean and overlooked the river. Breakfast was fantastic and overall the innkeepers seemed very nice.

Review 5:We could hear people next door as we were on the side of the hotel. A little difficult to connect to the WiFi.

Review 6:Nice wine glasses in our room. A bottle of mineral water provided. A huge balcony with a view of the castle and part of the town. Lots of mirrors in the room, not always provided. Tablet Computer provided for our use

Review 7:Bed was a bit uncomfortable Was a twin bedroom not a double, should have been stated as not having a double bed

Review 8:Staff were very friendly, meals were good Location was excellent. lovely view of the river from our balcony,

Review 9:That they were largely unavailable from the moment of check-in. And that it was a cluster**** to get an internet connection and very hard to get assistance to do so. It's a place to sleep - period. You have to beg for service. Believe me!

Review 10:That the staff tried.

Review 11:The hotel was small & friendly but needed a little updating. The decor was tired & needed a new reception area! Would we stay here again. Prob not!

Review 12:We couldn't have asked for a better location. The best in Cochem by far! We had a comfort double room which was adequate. The shower was excellent!

Review 13:1) Free wi-fi was advertised but never worked 2) 1 of 2 TVs was broken 3) Advertised free parking, but we were never told about until we paid on street . Only after we complained were we given pass to put on dash

Review 14:Breakfast was good

Review 15:parking is limited at the hotel, but the staff are always accommodating and have found a satisfactory solution on both our visits.

Review 16:This was our second visit and we deliberately chose the Hafen again. We love the position on the riverside with the terrace restaurant and its view across the Mosel to the old town and castle. it was only a walk across the bridge to be in the middle of things

Review 17:ALL VERY GOOD VERY GOOD CHOICE

Review 18:The staff was great, the room was great, and you can't beat the views and the location is perfect.

Review 19:The staff were great.

Review 20:Pretty much all of it. Especially the terrace view of the Rhine & castle across the river.

Review 21:Poor WiFi service. Could be our room on too floor #16.

Review 22:lovely staff good food

Review 23:In the weekend parking places are limited.

Review 24:Perfect staff. Very friendly. Nice view on Cochem and castle. Breakfast ok as Well as the restaurant with Nice outdoor tables.

Review 25:Magnificent but rather eccentric bathroom. Parking problem, not serious at this time of year, butcould cause problems in high season.

Review 26:Well run, well situated. Good restaurant, though rather restricted menu. Very helpful staff.

Review 27:I booked as a pay now offer, two weeks before arrival but was informed that I had not paid on check-out. Had to pay and now waiting to check if I have been charged twice. Check-out manager did not appear to be very happy about my concern

Review 28:Nice clean room

Review 29:The manageress could do with a smile

Review 30:The location was excellent right on the river front with fantastic views.the town is on the other side of the river which takes 5 mins to walk.abottle of beer in the hotel was 2.50. breakfast was very good. Woulddefinatly go back.

Review 31:We booked a standard room & the real thing was far from pictureshown at time of booking. We were given a room with an slanted atticceiling making the room rather claustrophobic. When request to changeroom, we were offered one with a balcony (there's a tiny corner viewof the river if one stretches one's neck) but bathroom was extremelysmall - for 11 Euros more per night. We took it & regret to discoverthat the bathroom had a constant smell (we had to buy room freshener)& the shower tiles were chipped & worn out. Bad ventilation inroom - had to open door to balcony for air resulting in bugs & gnatsflying in which then we had to swat & kill in order to sleep !!

Review 32:Breakfast on terrace with excellent view of the Mosel river & theCochem castle. Walk to town & boat dock very easy.

Review 33:The room we were given (number 8) looked onto the back of the hotel so we had no view and the room would accommodate people of little stature as the roof slopes and the toilet is suitable for a child.

Review 34:Very friendly staff who allowed us to book into our room early. Food was very good and the hotel was very clean. When you came out of the hotel you were in the middle of Cochem.

Review 35:Our room was in the back next to a church which would ring loud bells every morning at 8am for 5 minutes.

Review 36:Location right on the Moselle river was excellent. Restaurant was superb.

Review 37:No fan or any way to cool the room below ambient outside temperature. Or even just to circulate the air.

Review 38:Good hotel. Very well located on the not-so-busy side of the river with the quieter street in front of it. Noise was not a problem although our room faced away from the river front and street. Great shower in the room with good water pressure. Internet connection was quite strong as well.

Review 39:TRhe position of the hotel on the Mosel was ideal. The staff were courteous and friendly. The manager met us as our arrival was very late with a welcome beer! The meals were very good in a dellightful dining room complete with orchids. We were given an early flask of coffee on departure and a surprise packed lunch. It was vbery easy to walk across the brifge into the old town of Cochem and also get to the boat landings.

Review 40:There is no lift in the hotel and you do have several steps to negotiate to the bedrooms and restaurant which could be a problem if anyone has mobility issues.

Review 41:The hotel is conveniently situated in a quiet location just over the bridge, a few minutes walk from the town centre. Meals in the restaurant are very good and reasonably priced and if you are lucky enough to be there in warmer weather the view from the outside seating area is simply stunning. Rooms at the front of the hotel have balconies with good views of the river and castle. Overall cleanliness of the hotel was very good and all the staff were extremely helpful and polite.

Review 42:bathrooms very tiny. Breakfast buns seemed old or heated up. They were not fresh out of the oven as was received in all other hotels.Very little parking. Staff was cool towards customers or at least not very friendly. Received my Visa bill with hotel charges 6 weeks before we left Canada. In all my travesl in Germany I was never charged for the room until departure day. Not a place I would recommend to anybody.

Review 43:location was okay, so was some of the food.

Review 44:Since we were just across the bridge from the main street and businessarea of Cochem, it was quiet and we had a beautiful view of the castleand the town from our balcony facing the Mosel. The hotel is clean andconvenient -- easy walking distance from the train station, busses, andthe tour boat docks. It was the perfect setting and location.

Review 45:There was a misunderstanding about the type of room, as I specifically requested a room with a balcony, and they put us in a room without. They did offer to make it right, but we decided to take the original room because we liked its location.

Review 46:We liked the location of the hotel, as it was on the less trafficed side of the river about a 15 min walk from the train station. My fiance and I stayed for 2 nights. The room overlooked the river, with a great view of the castle. The room had a small sitting area and a desk. The bath was large compared to 3 other hotels. We were concerned it might be loud because the room was above the restaurant, but the restaurant closed about 9 pm and with the windows closed we didn't have any problems. The beds were firm but not too hard, and the room seemed very clean. The staff was helpful, though some seemed friendlier than others. Breakfast was fine. I would rate the experience 8 out of 10, and I would stay there again but would confirm the type of room with the hotel directly.

Review 47:Staff was not very friendly, especially restaurant. Room very small.Didn't get balcony facing Mosel River as requested, even though webooked more than 9 months out. Got balcony room on back side of hotel.Overlooking building & patios from homes.

Review 48:Located on the Mosel River directly across bridge from Cochem.

Review 49:We were there in March, so things were pretty quiet. I can imaging in the summer that the hotel could be on the noisy side.

Review 50:The hotel was very easy to find, and the location, overlooking the river and town, was fantastic. We could park right by the door for free, which was an added bonus. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room clean and comfortable. The hotel has a very good restaurant with reasonable prices and a great terrace for a drink.

Review 51:Limited parking in hotel lot.

Review 52:The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our greeting upon our arrival left a smile on our faces.

Review 53:I loved the location, we were right next to the bridge over the Mosel river and into the village, where all the little shops and bars are.

Review 54:Ambience of Cochem, trips on the passenger boats

Review 55:Good location for traveling around the Mosel River area.

Review 56:delicious breakfast, great location

Review 57:such a fantastic place and the hotel just made the stay the best.think its my 7th stay in cochem

Review 58:Rooms quite basic. No Air Condition available.

Review 59:location, right in the centre of Cochem

Review 60:position just across the bridge from the town. balcony

Review 61:I thought the price for the room was high for what you got.

Review 62:I liked where the hotel was situated

Review 63:The hotel was overbooked.

Review 64:Bed not comfortable, no air conditioning, no elevator

Review 65:Clean bathroom, good food in the restaurant, free wifi, adequate storage

Review 66:Very small bathroom, though it contained everything needed

Review 67:Riverside location, lovely view of river Mosel, comfortable rooms, good breakfast
