Reviews for Hyatt Regency Vancouver

Review 1:the main restaurant even though very good , its very expensive and the portion size are very small amount of food for that price , we were still hungry and had to leave the hotel to get something more to eat

Review 2:lovely rooms and great location as we were attending the hockey game that evening

Review 3:The left side of the king bed in room 2120 was SOOO uncomfortable - the right side was great - whoever slept on the left side of that bed did not have a good nights sleep at all - you should look into replacing that bed.

Review 4:Interconnection rooms allowed our family to be together. Breakfast and selection was fabulous.

Review 5:The service was excellent. We were given a fabulous room with a balcony and a great view of Vancouver. The Regency Club was closed for the Christmas period so we were given complimentary breakfast which was lovely. The location was fabulous for us as we wanted to see the attractions of Vancouver as it was our first visit to Vancouver

Review 6:The new room had an adjoining door where we could hear the conversations on the other side of this door along with children's call out etc

Review 7:Readiness to change our room after our complaint regarding noise from room above

Review 8:Little bit of noice in the nighttime and also has thin walls. I could hear a baby cry at night but it was just my experience. It didn't affect it at all.

Review 9:Everything

Review 10:Nothing I didn't really like. I would ask about the parking though if you have a car. Sometimes the rates are better than the hotel rates. The great thing is the front desk was super honest about it. I respect that a lot!

Review 11:Staff was friendly, everything was clean, great location. Check out time was at noon!

Review 12:nothing, I really loved everything

Review 13:I loved everything. The ammenities, the lobby, the breakfast, the starbucks inside the property, the team were very helpful and friendly, our dog had a very good time too and the location is AMAZING!

Review 14:Older hotel with poor sound-proofing. My two younger girls got a full-on audio show of the couple net store going at it against the adjoining wall, grunts and all. That was followed by us hearing every word of their inane post-coital conversation. My 9 year old learned a few things. We requested another room, and did get one. We heard quite a bit of noise there as well, but nothing quite so annoying. Breakfast buffet was good enough, but was way overpriced for what they offered.

Review 15:Great location, friendly staff. Great fast elevators.

Review 16:I loved how the location of the hotel is near Canada place (where the fireworks were held). After celebrating new year's countdown and the awesome festivities in downtown we got really tired and sleepy and I am thankful enough that I got to book to this hotel. The staff were amazing and helpful, they were happy enough to assist us in every way they could (and not in an annoying way). Overall, we enjoyed our stay and definitely will go back to this hotel and recommend it to my friends.

Review 17:The hotel is pretty contemporary generic. All of the kitchens close at 11p.m. and there is NO minibar so absolutely no way to get food after this time unless you walk to McDonalds next door. Several staff members were great but others were terse and unhelpful. Check your bill, double check your bill, triple check your bill. Hyatt has a history of overcharging me so I doubt I will stay here again.

Review 18:The hotel is clean, efficient, and is centrally located. There is a decent bar, restaurant and a Starbucks on site.

Review 19:The staff service to get a Taxi was not the best. I had to go out to the Main Street and stop a cab for my family and I to get to the airport to catch our 7:30am Internstional flight. Thank God that I went out and not depended on the staff.

Review 20:The location was great.

Review 21:A daily extra charge for high speed Wi-Fi for a four star booking is VERY unpleasant. Other hotels respect their clientele better. The costs could be included in a booking fee and certainly, 5 $ a day for Wi-Fi is absurd

Review 22:Central location, hassle-free access to rooms

Review 23:heard that the housekeeping may barge into the room in the morning even if you're still there, so mom and i put the do not disturb sign. also, kind of surprised that there were no complimentary slippers in the room and we had to request wine glasses, and a corkscrew. one would think those are basic provisions

Review 24:my booking included breakfast at the mosaic grille.. buffet breakfast server was awesome, very considerate gentleman and on point. didn't eat myself, (not a breakfast person) but had lots of coffee, but based on what my family had looked like the selection looked good. that was probably the highlight, and the location, so close to robson and nordstrom and the steakhouse we went to, was perfect!!

Review 25:The earth tremour at 11h45pm.... But this is obviously beyond the hotels control :-)!

Review 26:Excellent value for money - very nice hotel in a very central location!

Review 27:Intolerably soft pillows (I'm a side sleeper)

Review 28:Great customer service, large clean comfortable rooms, super comfortable beds. We'll be back next time we're in Vancouver.

Review 29:The bar was a bit more overpriced than expected. But other than that - nothing.

Review 30:The elevators in the hotel are different so the staff was nice enough to show us exactly how to operate them.

Review 31:Their Web site said they were pet friendly. Yup for a hundred dollars a nite they are. That's not a deposit in case of damage that's the cost.

Review 32:Refuse receptacle in the bathroom was not emptied from former occupant. Duvet should be in a closed cover not just between 2 sheets as I assume it is not washed after every guest has used it.

Review 33:Other than the duvet issue the beds were very comfortable.

Review 34:The room was rather dull and boring, like a typical Business Hotel... Perhaps a Little bit more of a contemporary design would do well!

Review 35:The Concierge was extremely helpful and gave us excellent tips and ideas for our stay at Vancouver

Review 36:Felt the room could do with an update...paintwork, wallpaper, and carpet were in need of a freshen up. No mini-bar...minor issue. Expected more from the Hyatt chain.

Review 37:The location was fantastic, right next to Burrard Station and accessible to everything downtown. Beds were very comfortable.

Review 38:Every needs should be there readiness rather than have to request from housekeeping unlike to other 4 to 5 stars hotels in Asia countries.

Review 39:The location

Review 40:Breakfast is a bit simple, not many choices.

Review 41:Very convenient location. Shuttles to Capilano and Seattle stop at the hotel. Many good restaurants nearby within 10 minutes walking distance. Almost sky train station is just outside the front door.

Review 42:Love the location, walk to public transportation. Great restaurants, we had the room with a balcony , so it was nice to have a view and fresh air. Beds were very comfortable.

Review 43:We give thumbs down to the shower. The overhead, middle of the shower stall shower head was awful... there was no way to get away from it! I nearly fell several times. Also-- no place to put wash rag, soap, shampoo.

Review 44:The location is perfect... the property is stunning, as was our room. We loved our balcony!

Review 45:Husband found hair a long hair in the sink when he went to brush his teeth. The TV wouldn't turn on and we got tired of waiting for someone to come to our room. Never did get it fixed.

Review 46:The staff are awesome and friendly.

Review 47:Pricy parking.

Review 48:Clean comfortable accommodations & rooms, very helpful and attentive staff.convenient accessible parking.Availability of Full breakfast.

Review 49:Whilst entrance/reception is attractive, the welcome is not so warm. Rooms are average but very thin walls, all the upgrades seem to have been done to public areas not guest rooms, so you can even hear people using the bathroom in room above. Beds ok but not overly comfortable.

Review 50:Location is good.

Review 51:Next room were always super noisy. Not only voices but also hit the wall at 3am. Even their voice toking on the phone always too much. I think wall is not enough and Ven...

Review 52:There are only nice and friendry stuff working.so you feel very comfortable while you are the lobby floor. And sturbucks coffee in a room is quite nice. I like the elevator system. And I got nice shower as well.

Review 53:Our stay was in club room floor. Didnt like seeing guests in club floor taking all the foods to the rooms !!!

Review 54:Very good and clean hiotel with quite location

Review 55:Water pressure in shower very poor. AC not quite effective . Disturbance from floor above in the night .... !!!

Review 56:Wonderful rooms. Large and spacious. Comfortable beds and large TV. Starbucks on the premises makes the mornings so much better !

Review 57:Poor coffee / tea making facilities in room. No bathrobes which for a hotel of this standard should be a given.

Review 58:Concierge staff were excellent. Healthy menus were good too. Pool and hot tub very nice option .

Review 59:Decor, location, convenience, size of room, amenities, staff attitude. We've stayed in Vancouver many, many times at the Pan Pacific, but decided to try something new this time. We will be back it was a very nice stay.

Review 60:Had two separate bookings within same week and flexibility of amending booking was simple and efficient - however there was lack of clarity and explanation on cost of accommodation - second stay being comparatively more costly per night !!

Review 61:Location and facilities all excellent.

Review 62:The elevator protocol was interesting, but we really didn't see the need for it.

Review 63:It was easy to get in and out of the hotel, either on foot or in a car. The location was great - we were near most all the activities we were interested in, and it was close to the metro station to get us out further.

Review 64:We were unable to cut our stay short by one day when I developed an eye infection...we tried to give three days notice and were told there would be a one night cancellation fee. We got the concierge to recommend a doctor and resolved my issue but I was disappointed in the hotel.

Review 65:Staff was responsive and helpful.

Review 66:one initial problem as I was travelling to Vancouver to enrol my son in University, I needed a rollout bed for 2 nights .I requested this on booking , and my husband asked for it upon arrival. However when we arrived to join my husband..there were none available. As a result I slept on the floor on a mattress....in a 5 * hotel...they did try to make it up to us by giving us a great room with a balcony ,which was superb...and would recomend to all who stay.

Review 67:location,staff,Starbucks in foyer, great shopping and food all in walking distance..after our initial issue..we had a great stay. And I returned a week later and asked if staff had found a pair of shoes accidentally left in my previous stay...and had them returned to me!The bar downstairs "Grain" is also really lovely and the staff are all so friendly and helpful...I wouldn't stay in any other Vancouver hotel.

Review 68:My room was somewhat noisy because I had a balcony on the 15th floor and the mattress was sort of rough to sleep on. The usable space in the room was small. I had the deluxe king room with a balcony. I also think the lobby needs a facelift, it's a bit dark and gloomy. The food at the restaurant was excellent though, and so was the service.

Review 69:The staff was very friendly and helpful regardless of whom I spoke to. Excellent.

Review 70:no fault whatsover

Review 71:Fantastic modern rooms free wifi great location great parking facility with ease of use and to avoid valet services great lobby, starbucks, bar and restaurant

Review 72:Thin walls! We were watching TV in our room at a low volume and the next door 'neighbor' lodged a noise complaint. Beer selection at Mosaic was terrible. Pool and hot tub not open late enough.

Review 73:Beds were comfy.

Review 74:I had asked for queen size beds but had doubles which was too small for 4 adults. I asked at the desk and was assured I had two queens. I spoke to another employee the next morning and was told I had doubles and was given a cot. The beds were very uncomfortable and the cot according to my daughter was like sleeping on springs. $399 a night was incredibly expensive for poor sleep.

Review 75:Nice location. Beautiful building.

Review 76:I found the room was very accommodating, comfortable and up-to-date! I had requested a high floor and was 3 floors from the top. Recieved both a view of the water and the city. The Starbucks staff downstairs were friendly and efficient for my morning coffee and the hotel provided me with the local paper. Location was central and walking distance to everything. Stayed at a few more expensive hotels downtown and wished I had spent my entire time at this hotel. I requested to extend my stay another night just prior to checkout and they accommodated that instantly without concern.

Review 77:Yes, the hotel is centrally located. However, if you're looking to spend time in one neighborhood that isn't directly downtown, you might want to look elsewhere. Note that even though this could be considered a negative for some travelers, I enjoy seeing a city by foot.

Review 78:We were only in town for one night so our goal was to relax, eat, drink, and explore the city as efficiently as possible. The staff was very friendly and gave us great dinner recommendation just down the street. The hotel was centrally located for all of our activities--we walked everywhere. Although the walk could be considered long to some (15-20min in either direction), we enjoyed exploring the neighborhoods in between our destinations. Our room was perfect. We asked for a room on a higher floor and were pleasantly surprised when we ended up on the 31st floor with a great view of the city and water.

Review 79:I paid $500/night and had lounge access. For that amount of money I expected a bit of special treatment. The food in the lounge was marginal--not a lot of choice and not particularly good. My room was nothing special and I think would have been the same as other rooms at a much lower price. There were no extras included: no turn down service, no extra bottles of water, no fresh fruit, not a particularly good view. It was fine but not at the level that I would expect at that price. I travel a lot and was disappointed.

Review 80:The location was great. Check in was easy.

Review 81:Everyone seemed to be confused as to how the elevator worked. However after understanding it, it was easy to use.

Review 82:Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Helped with maps and direction and even booked the ferry to Victoria.

Review 83:Asked by the front desk to have our included breakfast on the Lounge dinning room on the 29th floor which would open at 7am. Need to be there at 7am. It got so crowded soon later on that many people holding plates of food could not at all find a seat. Free wifi available but quite slow. Ended up purchasing premium connection. Not expensive though.

Review 84:Location. Very close to many nice things in Vancouver including the Canada Place, shops and restaurants on Alberni Street. The Burrard tube station is just next door. Big Room! Comfortable Beds! Starbucks in the lobby!

Review 85:The food in the club lounge was not good. The desserts were like plastic. The snack at night were blah. Really disappointing. The pool also was not inviting at all. We got ready went down there turned around and went right back to our room.

Review 86:Liked the location and room was great

Review 87:We are family of 4 (2 kids) and the double beds they gave us were just about right size for the 2 children (age 6 and 8) so never mind the adults! Need bigger beds

Review 88:Loved the location and everything was very well done and plush

Review 89:Only one English breakfast teabag in room per stay. Plenty of great coffee though! Pavement was narrow at hotel entrance which made it difficult on crutches.

Review 90:Room was fantastic, as was view from balcony. Breakfast was delicious, if a little pricey.

Review 91:The location is great! We had a 6 and 11 year old and were able to get shuttles and tours to all the attractions easily from the hotel. We were also able to walk around to Canada Place, Robson St., Bella Gelateria, Fly over Canada, Gastown and etc... We had access to the Regency Club and it had great food; good when you have kids that want snacks.

Review 92:Club room not up to expectations as families using it to feed their children both breakfast and dinner.

Review 93:Excellent service from staff, but Club Room being used by guests to feed their children breakfasts and even dinners.

Review 94:Low floor facing pool when actually requested for high floor with city view. Very noisy facing poolside. Security concern. Seems like anyone can access to the floor. Seen fastfood delivery taking lift up to the same floor as me. Weird !

Review 95:Convenient. Friendly staff.

Review 96:Hotel claimed they had no reservation for me.Desk person kept telling me I didn't have a reservation even tho I brought along my confirmation. I came back two hours later when hey figured something out and then they put me in a room with a double and single bed when I paid for a King. I'm a short guy 6'6" don't expect to pay $400 to have my feet hang out the end of the bed. Called down to the desk they said couldn't do anything so I went back down to the front desk and stood in line for 15 minutes before getting to speak to someone. Now 10:30 p.m. and they finally got me a room that I asked for 5 hours previously?

Review 97:Good Location great front door staff.

Review 98:Room very corporate and bland. Aimed at the business traveller. Would choose something with a little more personality next time.

Review 99:Great location, we walked pretty much everywhere.

Review 100:The people in the next room appeared to be a group of teenagers without adult supervision. A lot of yelling, shouting and door slamming, especially very early in the morning.

Review 101:It took a long time for guest request to answer the phone when calling. Not once or twice but each time you were kept on the line for a couple of minutes. There was no complimentary water in the room.

Review 102:Location, room size good, great facilities eg. Pool, jacuzzi, gym & Starbucks in hotel lobby.

Review 103:Sandwich did not say with mushrooms on the menu. Came with mushrooms :((Told waitress & manager--they were surprised it didn't show iton menu. Either fix the menu or train the cook.

Review 104:Great views from 28th floor. Shopping nearby.

Review 105:There should have been free and accessible wifi etc in public places not only in rooms and not Only in business centre where you are charged.

Review 106:Location great.Staff courteous and helpful

Review 107:Nice clean room. Good views from balcony. Like the rain shower. Bed was comfortable. Close to sky train, shopping, restaurants and waterfront. Glad they offered free Wi-Fi.

Review 108:For the cost of a night, it just didn't feel like there was much value. I would have expected more luxury in terms of the quality of the furnishings, for example. Also, with the attempts at eco-friendly/sustainability practices, this hotel is just cheapened...very low water pressure in the shower, small towels, no bathrobe in the room, etc. Other than the location and service, there is nothing that makes me want to strongly recommend this hotel.

Review 109:The service was great from the concierge to the cleaners.

Review 110:Price and they put me in one bedroom just because they assumed I was with my friend and we were a gay couple. I am not against gay but they just assumed and I don't like stereotypes

Review 111:Couldn't get anything to eat or drink after 11pm, and your elevator system needs some fine tuning. But the project I worked on while in town has a similar system that also has issues. People push a button and don't look at what elevator is for them.

Review 112:I was going to be late checking in and they held my room. Room was clean and good bed. Balcony was nice and clean. Bathroom shower was good.

Review 113:Hyatt was perfect location to all the main things to do in downtown Vancouver within easy walking distance or public transit. Very clean and helpful staff. I booked the the package with the regency club with gave us a access to a nice breakfast each day plus other food throughout the day as we came back from sight seeing. Overall very happy with my choice and stay.

Review 114:There's a new touchpad elevator system that tries your patience the first few times, takes a little getting used to. And the parking, as everywhere else in Vancouver, is a challenge.

Review 115:The location can't be beat, very close to Stanley Park, Yaletown, Coal Harbour, the Vancouver Art Gallery, and shopping. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Review 116:Hotel singnage board and entrance are confusing.. I was roaming around the hotel with the car for more than 10 minutes searching for the entrance.. Breakfast should be better with more varieties.. Private parking is very expensive

Review 117:Downtown location where most of things are within walking distance.. Free WiFi.. Many halal restaurants around the hotel.. Fast check-in and check-out services.. Very friendly staff

Review 118:The elevators are ridiculous! I forgot how inefficient they can be. I can't help but think a traditional elevator would be better. And the noise at night (a Saturday night) was terrible - from the room beside us (shutting drawers), the room above us (walking) and the street outside (sirens and yelling). You would think that the 17th floor would eliminate noise, but it wasn't the case.

Review 119:The hotel is well located, well designed, and the rooms are minimalistic and comfortable. The service was reasonable but not exceptional. The gym was a nice size, and the onsite Starbucks and Tasting Bar were very convenient.

Review 120:I was expected to pay 230$ but when I came home I saw my statement they charged me extra 50$ on my credit card no idea why hotel charged me extra 50$ otherwise hotel was good

Review 121:Room was good

Review 122:The elevators were the main negative point on this hotel. At times they worked fine on others we would be waiting for 5 minutes and over. At one point we had to get someone to take a bunch of us up in the service elevators. There was a very loud group of people the floor above us also but not the hotels fault. We called both times they were loud and it was taken care of fairly quickly. Wi fi not free.

Review 123:The hotel was really nice and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and there for the customer. Location was great for a trip to vancouver.

Review 124:Took some time for elevators to get where they want, especially when UN Conference was in the hotel.

Review 125:Awesome view from the 32nd floor! Meals & drinks were great. Tons of shops were close to hotel, within walking distance.

Review 126:The service was poor and they charged me again after I left and never responded to my emails or give me a refund. Worst service of any hotel i have ever stayed at.

Review 127:The hotel room had a desk, desk chair, and only one comfortable chair. There was no comfortable seating for two to sit and talk together. Noise from neighbor late into the night and someone actually tried to get into our room.

Review 128:Location

Review 129:The rain in Vancouver...but you can't really blame them for that....there was even an umbrella in our closet. Thank goodness!

Review 130:We had an early arrival (9 am) when we arrived we were expecting to store our luggage, however our room was offered to us. The front desk staff even gave us elevator lessons without us even asking. She was delightful. Again they were very accommodating and reasonable for us to have a late check-out. The restaurant and facilities were great! Well done Hyatt Regency Vancouver. Looks like we are changing our favourite Vancouver destination hotel. We travel to Vancouver 3 to 4 times a year. Thanks for a great weekend.

Review 131:the hotel was very convenient to everything . Staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful, and there is a great little bistro type restaurant attached also a Starbucks.

Review 132:I liked the parking garage underneath for a good price to park overnight. The staff at the front desk was SUPER helpful. Advised me to sign up for their free loyalty program to get the free wifi. We had a large group and they accommodated us lovely. They put our rooms next to each other and told us great spots to go.

Review 133:They charged me again after I left and I have contacted them daily for 2 weeks and sent all relevant information and they still have not replied or refunded me. Don't stay here unless you want to be overcharged and waste your time following them up to recieve no response. Never had a hotel ever be this disgusting with their behaviour and customer assistance.

Review 134:The location is the only good thing so find another hotel in the area.

Review 135:No free wifi. We were there for 3 visits, one for 5 nights and no internet. Every other place we stayed had free wifi, even the cheap and nasty places. Was almost happier staying in those places for this reason. I'm here from australia so my phone and Internet don't work. Email etc are my only way of contacting my family. Was pretty hard

Review 136:The pool and spa

The Fine Print
