The Federnhut is a backpackers' hostel situated 250 feet from the Rhine River, 500 feet from the vineyards of the Munot and 2,950 feet from the Schaffhausen Train Station. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hostel.
Rooms at Back-Packer Federnhut are brightly painted and either have shared or private bathroom facilities, cable TV and a fridge. Shared bathroom facilities are separated by gender and are on the same floor as the accommodation units.
The Museum zu Allerheiligen, Old Town and various restaurants are within a 5-minute walk from Back-Packer Federnhut.
A train from the Schaffhausen Train Station goes to the Rhine Falls in Neuhausen am Rheinfall, Europe's largest waterfall. It is also possible to organise boat trips along the river at the Schaffhausen Ferry Terminal.

Review 1：Lots of stairs and really expensive for a hostel!
Review 2：Great location down by the river. About a 10 minute wander from the station! Room was clean and comfortable and the lady who runs the place extremely friendly and helpful!

Review 4：A good hotel with a very convinent location which close to Rhine and only 10-15 min by walk and bus no.5 can be there as well.
Review 5：it is a backpackers hostel where you expect minimum... I stayed in a private room, it was much above the average backpacker's room,,, it is traditional.
Review 6：Doesn't get really quiet even in the middle of the night since there are a few busy roads and a junction nearby.
Review 7：It's close to anything of interest in town. Tea maker, as well as some bags of tea and soups, are provided. Friendly reception and a bar downstairs.

Review 9：They are very nice and flexible. When they found out the room I originally booked was not big enough to accommodate all 3 of us, they gave us a bigger room without extra charge. The location is very good, right by the river. About 10 minutes walk from train station. We took the path along the river and walked to the Rhinefall. It was about 45 minutes but very pleasant.
Review 10：excellent location in sweet little town, close to Rhine; you get a lot for the price; shared bathroom very clean, use of microwave and kettle included; I enjoyed a very pleasant stay and the staff is really very, very friendly and helpful.

Review 13：Swimming in the River Rhein is like swimming in champagne! The friendly people at 'Federnhut' really care, or did you ever see microwave dishes being provided?

Bad noise insulation: You will hear from Your room everything that happens on staircase in the early morning (when another guests are going for their morning jogging and back). Without of elevator, moving of Your heavy suitcase by staircase could become a problem if You have a bad spine.
Review 45：Clean. Good location closed to the center and castle. You can boil water and get tea/coffee free of charge. Food shop on the corner too.
