Review 1：The hotel was beautiful, nicely decorated and very well kept. In addition to our room, I loved the roof terrace, pool and restaurant. The staff was very friendly and professional. We visited some other hotels for dinner nearby and the service and food in Casa Higueras was on a completely different level, I would give five stars for the whole experience and would definitely recommend staying here.

Review 2：I didn´t like the fact I had to pay to park my car at a site owned by the hotel. I understand the location of the hotel was such it was impossible to park a car and I had no problem parking the car a few blocks up the hill but I think this should be free for guests

Review 3：The hotel was very cosy and very well equipped, the decor was just right and I liked the feeling of the dark floors and wood panelling throughout. The pool area with jacuzzi was idyllic, and the view very relaxing. The hotel restaurant is also excellent. Very good service, all staff seemed happy to be working there.

Review 4：The plumbing was a little quirky. For example, the only time we got cool water out of the tap was briefly, intermittently during hot showers. The restaurant was hit and miss.

Review 5：My boyfriend and I stayed two nights during the week in April (the start of low season) and we quickly discovered we were the only ones at the hotel. The spacious room was beautiful with a breathtaking view of Valparaiso and the bay. Dinner and breakfast at the Montealegre restaurant were delicious--with dinner reasonably priced for the quality and service. We had drinks on the top terrace of the hotel after dinner, champagne by the pool and jacuzzi in the afternoon until sunset--it was romantic, relaxing, and felt overly luxurious when it's just the two of you. As a gay couple, you always worry how hotel staff will react when you travel, but the staff at Casa Higueras were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful. It was an unforgettable stay.

Review 6：The price / value ratio is not appropriate. We expected more: simple things such as bell man helping us with luggage, parking, more attentive service in general, beverages at pool, etc.

Review 12：Valparaiso is a city with San Francisco like hills with narrow streets. If you drive to the hotel, it's a nail biter. Also, there's no parking at the hotel, it's 3 blocks away and they drive you to/from, but it's also $33 USD/day.

Review 13：Modern hotel with great amenities/facilities in rooms and in main areas. Pool rooftop deck have views of the water and city, wifi is strong, nice assorted breakfast included. Room 18 was really roomy. Also, this is the part of town you want to stay in.

The restaurant and pool side cafe served excellent Chilean food. We were late to come to dinner one evening (restaurant was closed) but they opened up and fed us! Fabulous place.

Review 26：This hotel is in a great location with wonderful views over the Port and the Ocean, particularly if it is warm enough to lie by the pool. It has been really tastefully decorated throughout, I was just sorry I wasn't staying longer to take advantage of more of the amenities. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was excellent. We also enjoyed breakfast in the dining room the next morning. I would highly recommend anyone to stay at this very good hotel.

Review 30：I had booked and paid for a sea view room and was a bit disappointed when I arrived the room was very small. When I complained I was told that I could be moved the next day to a better room which I was.

Review 31：We had trouble finding it. Driving on the street in front of the hotel was a challenge. Parking lot is 3 blocks away through hilly, tight streets. Is it possible to drive directly to the parking lot and call the hotel for a ride the rest of the way? Didn't see this possibility on the website

Review 33：The service. Has rejected to serve a soup in room service for my wife who was sick, because the soup was only in the restaurant menu, not in the room service menu, after paying $500 a night. This lack of flexibility is unacceptable

Review 35：There was no air conditioning or ventilation whatsoever in the room, which is reasonable to expect from a 5 star hotel. w With almost 30 degree heat outside, we were forced to sleep with the window open, meaning that noise from outside kept us awake most of the night and we were eaten alive by mosquitoes. We also didn't appreciate being forced to make a detour to the hotel shop, just to go and collect our car from the offsite car park - an unnecessary marketing ploy.
