Reviews for Hotel Park Villa

Review 1:This is a beautiful property with a great team of professionals, who all make you feel at home. It is a special little hotel - filled with art and antiques by someone who has an eye for detail and a love for beauty. Coming in late at night I felt like a young girl sneaking in after curfew. One of my favorite hotels anywhere!

Review 2:Its a beautiful place to stay, winter or summer. Good wine and food. Perfect location, it's just a stroll down the hill to get to the centre of schafhausen. Also good train connections just down the road. The staff are very friendly and helpful!

Review 3:-A bit cold in the room, probably due to the windows, couldn't find a heat regulator, but it's nothing terrible, maybe around 19-20°C, I could still sleep well.

Review 4:-Great breakfast. -Nice decorations, paintings and statues that create a cozy environment. -Very friendly staff, always ready to help you. -Great location, overviewing a part of the city, quite calm. -Spacious room. -Small present at departure!

Review 5:whats not to like

Review 6:the location / food was fantastic /this hotel is crammed full of all sorts of curiosity's and antics I will definitely be back

Review 7:What all people write: noise from the trains. However, my room was so big that I didn't feel the need to have the windows open. With windows closed it is quite ok

Review 8:Charming! And I got upgraded to the suite. A very nice surprise. Breakfast room is superb and owner very nice. I try many hotels as I am often in Schaffhausen for a client. This is among the best.

Review 9:The main problem with this hotel is the proximity to the train line, our room was a bit noisy. It should be ok if you dont open the window. we stayed in the Hotel Park Villa during August, so it was warm and to open the window was out of question due to the noise.

Review 10:The room was big and very clean. The breakfast was generous and the staff was very kind and friendly. The food in the restaurant was also very good.

Review 11:The hotel does not have airconditing or a fan so would not recommend it in the summer as it gets really hot.

Review 12:excellent service .. staff is very friendly and gives personal attention to the guests.. place is clean and neat and has an old world charm with the castle like appearannce and pretty garden around it.

Review 13:We visited during extremely hot weather and the rooms felt a bit stuffy, however the staff were so polite and personable that this was soon forgotten

Review 14:The staff were delightful.... nicest that we have encountered on our travels

Review 15:Friendly staff, especially Max the owner. Fantastic breakfasts. Wonderful dinner in the garden. We just had standard rooms, but very comfortable beds and all the amenities you need.

Review 16:The lights in the room is not bright enough at night, but didn't cause any problems.

Review 17:Located in a quite area but walkable distance from train station. Easy walk to a beautiful riverside and downtown Schaffhause. Nice host with good care and services. Traditional house with elegant decorations. Incredible big space of restroom.

Review 18:This place is situated next to beautiful park, and is a 5 minute walk from the town. It was built in 1902 and is filled with eclectic art and artifacts that you won't find in a "modern" hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 19:It was really expensive, but I think that's just Switzerland

Review 20:This hotel was amazing, but i must mention, i did get the suite, so who knows how good the normal rooms are

Review 21:The hotel is a real one of a kind. the owners have created a feeling that you are sating in their big rambling country house rather than a hotel. Breakfasts are great and the staff all v good

Review 22:- Nothing to mention here

Review 23:- the hotel theme and decoration (maybe the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in) - service and breakfast - comfort and the space in the room

Review 24:The staff was horribly rude. We were a big inconvenience to them especially at check in. We got no information about breakfast or wifi and was given annoyed looks when asking any questions about the facility.

Review 25:The room was spacious

Review 26:The owners went out of their way to make you welcome and at the end of our stay sent us on our way with free chocolate bars. It's within walking distance, over the footbridge, to the old town and only 4km to the Rhine falls. Although it's above the rail track there was absolutely no sound in the room, thanks to the very efficient double glazing. We had a delicious breakfast.

Review 27:The owner of the hotel and the staff made our stay in Park Villa Hotel a memorable one. The location is great, close to everything. Breakfast was generous. The hotel's many vases with sparkling white orchids will stay forever with us.

Review 28:We liked it.

Review 29:The host is a wonderful, kind, and thoughtful man. We had a comfortable bed and room. Breakfast was generous and good tasting. We also ate dinner in the restaurant in the evening. The meal was fantastic, especially the tomato soup. Beautiful, historic house. It is within walking distance of the Old Town area and other sites.

Review 30:1-lift doesn't start from the ground floor 2- a train near by "so not good for a light sleeper" 3-Dark room

Review 31:1-Huge room 2-Nice balcony 3-Free parking 4-Kind staff "thanks for the chocolate" 5-Nice restaurant with room dining 6-Big bathroom 7-Different hotel with different style

Review 32:It was a delight to stay at a hotel with so much style compared with so many pleasant but otherwise anonymous hotels. The old fashioned charm personal attention and antique setting we're first class.

Review 33:A lovely hotel if you like to stay at a place that feel like a family-like mansion. You are immediately comfortable. The restaurant for dinner is excellent and breakfast is copious - all in a "grand old style".

Review 34:A bit of noise from passing trains but not too bad

Review 35:The decor, older style and much to our taste. Excellent food and breakfast served at the table - no serve yourself buffet! Beds very comfortable.

Review 36:The woman working in the breakfast room was very impolite. Globally the personnel should be far better.

Review 37:I would say the hotel had old world charm and the two ladies on the reception were very friendly and helpful. Very short walk to the pedestrianized centre of the old town

Review 38:Nothing.

Review 39:We had a comfortable two nights in a quiet room. The staff were all friendly and efficient and the food was good. A special touch was a bowl of complimentary fruit in our room. The hotel is close to the town centre which was very convenient. Also adjacent is a small park to sit and relax. Schaffhausen is an old town with a lot of history and is very attractive.

Review 40:bed comfort - the mattresses quite old and uncomfortable, not something one would expect in a hotel of this rank

Review 41:good location, friendly staff, nice garden and really good breakfast

Review 42:+ breakfast (many fresh fruit and served at the table) + fresh fruit as a welcome in the room + the antique interior + atmosphere + location (very close to the city center but quiet at the same time)

Review 43:Bathroom has a low ceiling above the bath. Noise of the railway.

Review 44:Location is on the edge of a park, but very close to the city center, just 5 minutes to walk. Free parking in front of the hotel. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. Nice view of the Rhine from the window.

Review 45:Having asked for a quiet room we were given one overlooking the town railway station - which they assured me had a great view ! 36 trains between 3.00 am and 7.00 am. Otherwise the hotel was fantastic

Review 46:Nothing

Review 47:Extremly friendly staff makes you immediately feel welcome…so different from hotels of today. Hotel is like a museum. Breakfast is simply amazing.

Review 89:Excelllent food, service and period facilities

Review 90:nothing

Review 91:Very accomodation staff.

Review 92:- The entrance to the hotel is a bit chaotic, they sell chocolates and souvenirs in the lobby, at the end it looks like a bazaar and it kind of ruins the beautiful old-styled atmosphere of the building.

Review 96:Noise from the railway line is unavoidable, some of the rooms I saw were very small indeed

Review 97:the location is excellent, the staff lovely and the hotel quirky in a good way! This hotel is full of character and odd things all over the place, it makes a nice change from the usual corporate chain hotels which are all bland and samey.
