Reviews for River Rock Casino Resort & The Hotel

Review 1:The king size bed was not comfortable. It was like a hammock.. The whole point of our stay was to rest overnight between flights. The music in the lobby restaurant was so loud we couldn't talk..left and ate in the casino one instead..Java hut coffee was awful.First and last stay here I think, very disappointed, was looking forward to it and am generally easy to please

Review 2:On ck in would have paid cash and was told no pay on way out but need card gave wife's card and staff said just will hold will not run. Paid cash next morning and was in a hurry to shop in Richmond for we are a chinnees family will they ran csrd and my wife checking account. Was over drawn told to wait three days fr staff so whole trip was very costly grammpa and grammma will not go back we live in Seattle in what some call little china town s. Becon ave. So beware of check in.

Review 3:The pool was nice .clean rooms and nice crowed everyone was having fun.

Review 4:It would be nice if there was some adult time for the pool and spa. There where unsupervised kids under 12 that took the fun and relaxation out of that part of our stay, they stayed till midnight when it closed. Perhaps you could have adult time from 11-12.

Review 5:The waitress at the Breakfast buffet was great, I forgot her name but she has been working there since it opened.

Review 6:The buffet dinner was very expensive considering what was offered. I probably wouldn't use the buffet again.

Review 7:The room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel was quiet and I enjoyed my stay there very much.

Review 8:That booking.com didn't give river rock my booking numbers at all until I called that day of arrival . I almost didn't get the room I had paid for

Review 9:The atmosphere. The rooms are always nice!

Review 10:No bad experiences but an improvement would have been a fridge in the room.

Review 11:Very convienent to skytrain and bus transportation. Rooms spacious quiet comfortable. Excellent pool and hot tub. Great entertainment. Fun lively casino terrific show by Russel Peters and dj's nightly

Review 12:I booked this room at least two months in advance. On arrival, I was told that there were no rooms in the resort, but I could get a room across the street, which would involve going outside and walking across the street. Since I was alone and it was after dark, I said that this wouldn't be acceptable. I was offered an up-grade, but it would cost more. I'm not happy.

Review 13:There was urine all over our carpet and staff was great to get it cleaned but we wanted a cleaned room so we could take off our shoes it took front desk 1-1/2 hours to get us a new room we were late to our dinner with friends who had traveled there to meet us was not impressed

Review 14:I liked the suite they put us in after our first room needed cleaning and urine from carpet extracted

Review 15:The cost of drinks in the cassino were way too much. We travel to many cassinos and I think this was the most expensive The bar resturant gave you very little for the cost and not not good

Review 16:The bed was wonderful and the pillows the pool area was great

Review 17:Hotel pillows hard and uncomfortable. Service and fool at Curve was poor and slide. Check-in was a disaster, no reservation found. Had to wait for an hour to set it sorted out. Buffet breakfast (complimentary) food was very poor quality, man at omelet station surly and unfriendly. Fruit was underripe, bacon cold, waffles tasted like cake batter.

Review 18:Service at breakfast buffet was good. Room was clean and well appointed.

Review 19:No complimentary breakfast bar and a lot of conversation in the hall outside our door - not sound proof

Review 20:The staff was great, the bed comfortable and we liked the sky train to aurport

Review 21:I encountered a problem when checking in as I had been given some misinformation (or had misunderstood the information) which caused a great deal of stress. However Isaac, the Front Desk Agent I was dealing with could not have been more helpful. He was empathetic to my situation, he went above and beyond to sort the situation out and because of his efforts my problem was sorted out and I was able to settle in and enjoy my birthday with friends as I had planned. I was even upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite. I hope the management of this hotel understands how important staff like Isaac are to the operation. He deserves a special commendation for his professionalism, kindness, customer service skills. He even remembered me the next day when I went to check out. I will return for another stay at the River Rock, thanks in large part to Isaac.

Review 22:Long line up for buffet meal Saturday night and the food wasn't as special as before (especially for $35 each)

Review 23:It's a beautiful hotel and we like being at the casino.

Review 24:If there are any complaints it would be about food availability; true, there is a food court in the Casino but it is limited. The buffets are very expensive and in room tea and coffee is a joke.

Review 25:The suite, to which we upgraded, was very comfortable. We needed a space where we could spend time with two persons travelling to Australia before their flight. River Rock really fit the bill. Kudos to all the staff as they were more than helpful.

Review 26:Poor restaurant and overall food availablility. The buffet is the worst that I have seen. The food is always cold and sold out. The food stations are poorly maintained and the service is mediocre at best.I have commented on this in the past visits and it does not get better. As I travel to Vancouver every two weeks I will look at an alternate hotel in future.

Review 27:Location and cleanliness of the room and hotel

Review 28:The hotel room was excellent, bed was comfortable, the only issue we discovered was the fridge didn't appear to be working. Other than that, everything was excellent!!

Review 29:Constantine was fantastic. From the moment we arrived to checking out, the staff were friendly and supporting.

Review 30:Mattress was too soft for my comfort.

Review 31:Spacious room and generally friendly staff. Convenient access to Skytrain that connects to Downtown and Airport.

Review 32:Was a bit disappointed that the room didn't live up to the hype that I heard about staying there. Room was small for the value.

Review 33:Very convenient location for riding the sky train to downtown for functions.

Review 34:The only thing I didn't care for was how difficult it was to go visit my niece & her husband who where staying on the 11th floor (we were on the 5th). I understand the need for security......but it was a little annoying trying to visit each other in our rooms.

Review 35:Everything!! I really wasn't there long enough to take in ALL the facility..... but I will most certainly return so I can sample some more!

Review 36:Location is so close to the airport. Sky train is just there. Hotel has everything you need. Front desk are very nice. Check us in early. Very safe and friendly staff

Review 37:The room smelled like pet pee. The buffet was poor -limited variety of food choices. It was hard to adjust temperature.

Review 38:Great view. Staff were very friendly and professional.

Review 39:We arrived late and need to catch a 7am flight, the location is excellent of which the taxi fare were $20/$15 only To and from the airport. The skytrain station and the bus bays are just beside it, it's super convenient.

Review 40:Beautifully appointed, spacious hotel a $20 cab or $15 (for two) train ride from Vancouver Airport. Take the cab as it's much less hassle. We received a complimentary upgrade to a One-Bdrm Suite. We'd definitely stay again.

Review 41:Nothing bad

Review 42:We really enjoyed everything about the hotel. Staff were excellent. - Location to sky train - Location to airport - We won in the Casino!

Review 43:Staff were rude. It was our honeymoon & special treat. Made a comment about it, person checking us in completely ignored it. Never found anyone overly helpful or kind.

Review 44:Location was alright

Review 45:The location is perfect for hopping on the train into Vancouver. Staff was nice to deal with. Room was good. Key card entry and safe use worked smoothly.

Review 46:The room was spacious and well appointed The buffet meal was very good and excellent value. This hotel is ideal for long distance travellers to acclimatise as it is near to airport on Skytrain and can easily return to pick up rental when refreshed

Review 47:There's really nothing else nearby to do if you're not a gambler.

Review 48:Being close to the airport and being right near the Canada Line that takes you straight to the airport.

Review 49:Most of the staff were helpful. The dining staff were very good. The reception staff were average and didn't give a good first impression. The very tall guy at reception was very helpful. The coffee making facilities were average (three pods to share amongst two people) with no facilities for tea drinkers. While the rooms were serviced well the room looked a little tired. The staff in the casino were very friendly.

Review 50:The eating facilities were very good.

Review 51:The staff were not overly friendly. There was a used bandaid on the patio, which shows a poor attention to detail in terms of cleanliness.

Review 52:The rooms were gorgeous and the beds were very comfortable.

Review 53:Our room was not cleaned after the first night because the red light had been turned on by someone previous to our stay, which we were unaware of. Valet was not explained that we could phone for vehicle from room which made easier to have vehicle brought over

Review 54:the beds were comfortable, staff polite and friendly

Review 55:Perfect location for getting around by transit to downtown Vancouver - over to Victoria and of course the airport. Rooms are well priced & there are lots of amenities right at the Resort.

Review 56:There is no shopping centre near the hotel.

Review 57:The location is really near to public transportation. Also, we have been upgraded to the executive room while staying there. Awesome!

Review 58:Location to airport, the casino, cleanliness, modern facilities, friendly staff. Stayed a few years ago before the new hotel and liked it so much and River Rock was our first choice on our return to the area.

Review 59:Had to wait at check-in and check-out. not enough people to handle the guests at a high period

Review 60:Comfortable room, very good bed, outstanding valet and bellman

Review 61:Check in seemed a little disorganized.

Review 62:The property was new and clean. The bellman was very attentive and provided a lot of information and was very helpful.

Review 63:Wished that the food services were more available and better quality /value. Parking and retreiving car from parking was very awkward and confusing.

Review 64:The room was first class. Staff were very good.

Review 65:The hotel is literally on the Canada Line which can be accessed directly from floor 4 so access to the City/Waterfront and YVR airport couldn't be easier. High quality room, windows pretty well insulated sound from airplanes which are landing directly overhead. We had a great night's sleep and will use again.

Review 66:Too far of a walk to let my dog out. Also no complimentary breakfast like the holiday inn.

Review 67:Just the location and the room. The workers were really polite.

Review 68:Somehow our reservation was lost between the time we booked it on Feb 25/15, and the day of arrival, June 16th. The hotel was fully booked, but they somehow managed to find a room for us. Not sure how it happened as I was given a confirmation number, but that also disappeared in the system.

Review 69:Rooms are really large and comfortable, bathroom also great.

Review 70:It was not good value for money. My husband had to struggle with the luggage while I parked the car. When he asked staff for help he received none. When he asked for a trolley he had to leave his driving licence as security - even though he had shown them his room key. Not good enough for a hotel in this price bracket!

Review 71:We enjoy playing the slots and we were flying out early the next morning, so the location was ideal for us. The airport train stops at the casino (Bridgeport station) The hotel fittings were quality and the room was comfortable.

Review 72:My wife and I came for a kid free weekend and had a great time. We had dinner at Curves both nights, the food and service were good. The biggest bonus for us was that that Sky train is right out the door of the resort. It was very convenient to go downtown for shopping and sightseeing.

Review 73:There was an awful noise that kept us up all night two nights in a row. It sounded like a blender turning on and off every 2-10 minutes! We called the front desk multiple times and they eventually were able to get it to stop but it was 2am the first night and 3am the second so we didnt get a lot of sleep. The manager Ross was super great about it though and did his best.

Review 74:I loved all the stuff available in one place! Didn't need to leave the hotel much!

Review 75:We found it difficult prior to arrival to figure out whether this was one property or two. It is two properties that are joined by a breezeway on the 4th floor. The hotel at river rock is a standard hotel while the casino and resort is a luxury suite hotel. Restaurants open at 11 AM and 5 PM. I would have liked to have seen a more standard coffee shop/general style restaurant available during off peak hours. Pool area while billed as salt water didn't seem to be anything different than a regular pool. There were considerable towels heaped around the pool area so more routine checking of this area would have been a good idea.

Review 76:There were lots of amenities at this hotel. The room was good and staff were attentive.

Review 77:The thermostat was not working in our room and it took 3 calls to get it fixed we were freezing. The wifi and cable went out for a few hours. So, no internet to work, tried to turn on the TV it didn't work and we were freezing. i know these are flukes but hey all happened in our 12 hour stay..

Review 78:Staff is lovely, rooms nicely appointed, gym and pool area are nice. Was able to check in early!

Review 79:It was noisy with doors in the hallways slamming constantly in the night and in the early morning. Parking was to be included and we had to pay 16.00 per day for valet parking of my husbands truck as it would not fit in the underground parking. We did not use the truck and simply had the valet park it once and retrieve it when we left. If not a gambler, not a good place to stay. Food in the buffet was terrible and not worth the money.

Review 80:Buffet was understaffed, desserts were excellent, however everything else was poor quality, lousy service, very disappointing for a 4 star. This has always been a big draw for our family. No longer.

Review 81:the hot tub was overcrowded with unattended children splashingeveryone. seemed like a public swimming pool. this was near 10 pm.

Review 82:we loved the restraunt. the food was great. the service was very good too. and the bed was the best ever.

Review 83:We stay overnight, but we are mostly there for the buffet dinner. Promised Prime Rib and Crab, we got neither. Tough beef and Lobster with no tails. Not worth eating and cold to boot. Sushi was good, though.

Review 84:Staff helpful and cheerful.

Review 85:We love the hotel because of great staff and the cleanliness of the facility. We attended the Canucks game and to take the sky train down and back is just so simple and inexpensive. Great view and the hotel seems to run at a calm state even when busy.

Review 86:We could see the resort, but had a tough time finding it. The pool was across the street in a different building. Expected the room to be bigger to match the price tag.

Review 87:Bed was very comfortable. Staff was helpful and courteous.

Review 88:Room was noisy. Outside doors opening and closing, blower fan for heat very noisy. Room temp. Was to hot and couldn't be adjusted. Room was unremarkable compared to cost.

Review 89:Staff was very good. Helpful, nice.

Review 90:Ordered pizza from room service. Easily the worst pizza I have ever eaten. It was like a frozen pizza that was microwaved. Pretty surprising for a nice hotel like this. Either remove the item from the room service menu or bring it up to the standard of the hotel

Review 91:Bathroom had issues, unclean counter & shower temp continually fluctuating

Review 92:Front desk moved my party to another room immediately after I voiced my displeasure about bathroom/ shower conditions

Review 93:The room was nicely decorate and the hotel had lots of amenities. I requested an early check-in and they were very accommodating. Additionally, it's easy to get from the airport to the hotel via the sky train.

Review 94:we were in room 711 in the east tower, i don't think the plug in in the bathroom was working and there was also a plug in on the left hand wall as you walk into the room that was needing some repair.

Review 95:Location, ability to jump on the sky train and go to the airport

Review 96:High price per night, $33 for buffet with no inexpensive choices. Small Shower, heavy duvet for summertime stay. Parking was very far out and the advertised free parking only had a few spots so you had to get lucky and then not leave. The rest were valet

Review 97:Casino was great, Buffet food good, comfortable room

Review 98:We had an overnight lay over between our cruise and our return flight to Atlanta. For a small fee at check in we were upgraded to a suite, which provided ample and comfortable space for the three of us. The resort is a short distance from the airport, and in a great location for a layover in between flights. It has everything on site one needs for a brief stay -- complimentary Wi-Fi, Casino, pool, fitness center, casual dining in the lobby area at good price point, buffet, and food court in the casino. Great Experience and a perfect way to wind down after a 7 day Jazz Cruise to Alaska.

Review 99:Lack of good food venues we tried to reserve a lunchand dinner at Asian restaurant attached to the hotel but was not able to secure any booking with them. Extra coffee charged overpriced hotel for non gamblers

Review 100:1 item was disappointing the reception attendand indicated that she had absolutely no info regarding the transit outside there very doors, my niece the next morning asked a different attendant the same thing, re: transit she was supplied with a simple map and directed to the consiair if further information was required, I suspect next time I'll wear my suit.

Review 101:Location to casino

Review 102:Nothing!

Review 103:We are frequent visitors to this fabulous resort. We were happy to being staying in the room that we originally booked but were thrilled to be upgraded to the marina view room that we received. As usual our room was exceptionally clean and comfortable.

Review 104:Not a lot of restaurants around...for 3 nights playing in the casino... I never heard anybody won... I lost too!!!

Review 105:Very near YVR... 3 stops away by train

Review 106:Staff did not know about a beautiful running route in the area so I had trouble finding a place to run. Wifi was very poor.

Review 107:Excellent location, friendly staff. Facilities are good.

Review 108:I had read there was a shuttle service to the airport but it turned out there wasn't. No tea making facilities only coffee. Whole feel of the place was not as portrayed on website - obviously aiming at the Casino customers - not as luxurious as it portrayed. Views from room uninspiring. Most expensive place I stayed at whilst in Canada and the least liked!

Review 109:Station for trains to Airport/Vancouver extremely close to hotel

Review 110:Pool closed with no mention

Review 111:Casino,

Review 112:Close to Vancouver

Review 113:Courteous staff, cleanliness, location to airport.

Review 114:The king size room was gorgeous. Loved the coffee machine

Review 115:Casino on site was a nice extra activity. Easy access to airport

Review 116:nothing at all

Review 117:the staff was the best i have ever had the pleasure of meeting

Review 118:Beds were awesome. Like sleeping on a cloud. Great food and beverage.

Review 119:poor breakfast

Review 120:they did not give us a late check out. The hotel was 80% full

Review 121:The lovely Xmas decorations.

Review 122:Bed is too soft, people next door with children in & out until 12 a.m.

Review 123:Proximity to Airport and ground transport.

Review 124:Booked a room for 4 adults but each night there was only enough towels for 3 - we had to call for additional
