Reviews for Alto Mirador Hotel Boutique

Review 1:For $200/night, the "suite" we had was way overpriced. The breakfasts really need to be expanded and varied - very limited and boring. The location needs to be explicitly communicated as it is extremely hard to find.

Review 2:The view and the staff are lovely.

Review 3:We were lucky to get the top floor suite and the view was just breathtaking. Breakfast was simple but tasty. Same with the restaurant: only 3 things to choose from lunch menu but delicious food. Nice pool area.

Review 4:The dogs barking steadily outside our window on one of our nights until 2 in the morning.

Review 5:Angela was always smiling and ready to help. Hernan was kind enough to carry our heavy luggage up two flights of stairs. The view and solitude eating breakfast on their patio was lovely.

Review 6:It isn't right in the city center, but perfectly walkable to everywhere (20 mins tops). The bus stop is just in front of the hotel anyway.

Review 7:Staff so nice and helpful. Beautiful wooden house, spectacular view from the balcony. Amazing breakfast. Best part: Ending an exhausting day walking around beautiful Valparaiso, in the hot tub under the stars with two pisco sour.

Review 8:Cracking floors are nice as they give some charme to the place but they become nigtmare when you are sleeping and someoe walks in the property. It then becomes really noisy and ennoying. The rooms with the view on the terrace on the 1st floor are nice but the problem is that all guests come on the terrace to admire the view and have drinks which means that they are litterrally in front of the windows of these rooms to watch the view so you do not have any intimacy. Staff is nice but most do not speak a word of English so can in some occasions be a problem.

Review 9:Wonderful views on the bay. Very good restaurnt though open until 7pm only !

Review 10:Some maintenance problems in the bath

Review 11:The view from the top suite The jacuzi in the top suite The hot tubs The breakfast, especially the coffee Advice about the city tour and transportation

Review 12:the people in the hotel was really helpful and warm. they were always ready to help The breakfast was great ! and the location was good the hotel was cozy and clean...very clean ..something we really value

Review 13:Lots of stairs in this place. No real English speaker. You are a long way up the hill. 30 minute steep walk through dicey neighborhood. A local told us to be very carefulwith our bags and to hide them Tired

Review 14:The view of the whole bay. It has a restaurant at the place. The hot tubs

Review 15:I felt robbed. Did not like the room in the basement, the noise as from 5 am, the fake dinner, the crazy price. The horrible Internet connection.

Review 16:Nothing really. They offered a New Year's Eve event from 8 until 3 am and offered appetizers, no days dinner. I felt robbed.

Review 17:-a bit diffucult to find -distance to restaurants (hotel have a good one, but it's not allways open. You have to check that yourself) -storage space at room -in Chile seems to have extremely high price for laundry, be aware of that!

Review 18:-nice interior -the terrace, view and breakfast at the outside -good breakfast -nice hot tube and sauna -safe place for car

Review 19:The breakfast could be improved. It was basic.

Review 20:The bed was very comfortable and the view was wonderful.

Review 35:Most of all the staff and the delicious food in the restaurant

Review 36:Amazing views, comfortable rooms, lovely staff, pool, hot tubs, pisco sours, relative peace, fab breakfast, nothing was too much trouble.

Review 37:Very slow Wi-Fi, poor soundproofing between rooms, decor a little shabby.

Review 38:View, breakfast, restaurant, pool.

Review 39:I had nothing to complain about.

Review 40:The rooms were very nice with comfortable beds. The breakfast was nice with plenty of fresh fruit.

Review 41:Nothing

Review 42:The staffs were always smiling at us with an attitude, very helpful and kind! The room was soooo clean, comfortable. Really nice.

Review 43:wifi was flakey during our stay

Review 44:the view room (#11) is incredible. definitely worth the extra money.

Review 45:Found some hair from someone else on the bed and on the toilet.

Review 46:Comfort, coffee and good staff.

Review 47:A bit cold room during night as it was difficult to get the heter trimmed in since the weather changed a lot (stay was in june). Unheated pool..

Review 48:Very nice view from the room (suite with jacuzzi and balcony). Personnel (upgraded us to a better room because we forgot to leave key when leaving hotel, and so they could not clean the room.. our fault though..)

Review 49:Nothing to say

Review 50:Three wood hot relaxing pools where you can relax arround one drink The amazing view on the city The cosy terrassec and swimming pool The charming rooms

Review 51:Nothing. Charming place with Neruda's house nearby.

Review 52:Camilla and the rest of the staff were great. They did it all. Carried bags, cleaned the room, fixed the plumbing, made breakfast. Our room had a view of the port, and 2 steps out the door we were on the terrace with a view of the cerros and those colorful houses. And Camila got us the service's of the best taxi driver ever- Alex

Review 53:The room had an amazing view of the city. The restaurant on site was wonderful. The staff very nice and always accommodating. They even made sure we were fed at 6 am so we could make our flight.

Review 54:The water sprayed out quite a bit onto the floor when taking a shower.

Review 55:Great service, excellent view, everyone really making sure we were comfortable and had what we needed, very clean facilities, awesome pool and jacuzzi tubs!

Review 56:I would have liked to know they were repairing the pool beforehand. It was just a minor detail. We enjoyed the hotel from the very first minute until our departure.

Review 57:Service was superb. My BF and I would like to send a big thank-you note to don Juan, Camila, Hernán and Claudia and everyone working there: they made of our stay a real pleasure. The view of Valparaiso bay and hills is spectacular. Every night, after a busy day, we enjoyed those outdoor hot tubs. The room was always perfectly clean and beds really comfortable. There's a safe too and you set your own password there. NICE. Breakfast was pretty substantial. Parking is free and safe. On our last night, we could get our own snacks and champagne for relaxed conversation in the terrace on the 2nd floor overlooking Valparaiso. This hotel is a gem.

Review 58:Price is rather high for the value. We consult to take care on the Avemida Alemania when it starts to be dark.

Review 59:Staff is very hekpfull, breakfast is excellent, rooms have a safe and wifi works everywhere. View on the city is wonderfull. The safety in the hotel is very good, the car was for free in a private parking.

Review 60:please bear in mind that it is a 15-20 min walk to the city center of Valparaiso.

Review 61:View from the hotel - breathtaking! Personnel is nice, friendly and caring - breakfast simple, but of excellent quality! A gem is Valparaiso.

Review 62:The hot tub is basically a giant bath - no bubbles or jets - that you have to book 3 hours in advance. 15-20 mins walk to the main restaurant/bar area although you can get a bus.

Review 63:Really good breakfast, comfortable beds, good pool and sauna area. We arrived really early before check-in and we could go to our room, a massive bonus after a night flight

Review 64:Nada

Review 65:An excellent boutique hotel in a brilliant location up above the town with panoramic views of the bay and Vina Del Mar. The staff are very helpful and the service faultless. For example on the last day we had to leave early and with out asking ,a small breakfast had been prepared for us and payed out in the breakfast room . The room was large and well appointed with magnificent views of the town and beyond. Highly recommended .

Review 66:It was not a negative aspect for us but could be for those who do not like walking as it is a bit far from the popular places-sights.

Review 67:Everything was excellent, staff, facilities, buffet breakfast, great view, ample free parking, and 5 star ammenities for budget price!

Review 68:Cold breakfast room (which is not just this hotel but it seems allhotels and restaurants in Chile in winter time!). Otherwise, I dislikednothing. It was amazing to stay at the Alto Mirador!

Review 69:Facilities amazing. Room super cosy and warm. Great shower.Friendly staff. Amazing views!! Hot tub! Delicious restaurant. Verygood breakfast options. Wonderful balcony to share with otherguests and drink pisco sours! Secure parking for cars. Veryreasonably priced. Quiet.

Review 70:I wish meal times in Chile were an hour earlier.

Review 71:The view, the neighborhood, the grilled lamb. We bussed up and walkeddown, both ways great but not if you have a lot of luggage.

Review 72:The staff only let us use the hot tub for one hour. We sat by the warm empty hot tubs for hours because of this silly restriction. I understand that everyone should be able to use the hot tub for at least an hour but restricting it when they are all empty just felt like they staff was being cheap. They suggested we pay for the value of an extra night at the hotel if we wanted to use the hot tub for another hour. Ridiculous! On top of that, we got a room with no window. Honestly, I just felt like we were getting the short end of the stick on everything. The restaurant is good and the staff there had a completely different, more friendly attitude

Review 73:The staff were fantastic, location good, but you needto be able to walk, as back it's uphill, we just got ataxi, very cheap. Lovely restaurant next door. Nice pool and tubs. Bed very comfortable and fantastic views from hotel.

Review 74:The hotel was not well labeled and we had difficulty locating it. Our showerhead in our room was totally broken, one of the worst showers I have ever taken anywhere, including the jungles of Africa.

Review 75:It was clean and comfortable and they were helpful.

Review 76:We stayed here for three nights at the end of a six week holiday. It was great to stay at such a lovely clean place with fantastic views. The staff working there were extremely helpful giving us detailed advise on what buses to catch to get to where we needed to go. I would highly recommend.

Review 77:If you are a light sleeper or sensitive to noise and are a late riser, I suggest requesting a room at the top of the hotel. My room was located under the breakfast room and the foot traffic in and out of the breakfast room would keep some people awake.

Review 78:Alto Mirador is the perfect little find in Valparaiso. Although off the beaten track, it is well appointed for views of Valparaiso. A pisco sour on the terrace as the sun goes down is a must. The rooms are modern, clean and very comfortable and had everything I needed. Would recommend to others. All staff were very helpful.

Review 79:The hotel is nice but a little run down, could use some updates.

Review 80:Room was comfortable, good hot tub.

Review 81:Room very small. Otherwise everything was good.

Review 82:Helpful staff, beautiful views, good restaurant and wonderful varied breakfast.

Review 83:Loved everything including the food.

Review 84:Cloudy weather!

Review 85:A beautiful, friendly hotel, with a great restaurant and family atmosphere. Hot tubs are perfect.

Review 86:The staff was really helpful and friendly. I liked the sauna/hot tub/pool garden área and our room overlooking Valparaíso.

Review 87:No lifts.

Review 88:Helpful staff who compensated for all the stairs and no lifts by cheerfully carrying luggage. Free valet parking.

Review 89:Breakfast was insufficient in choice and quality for the price paid

Review 90:View from the bedroom window and verandah

Review 91:We went for New Year's Eve and had a lot of fun. The staff were great and the food was wonderful. We had a wonderful view of the fireworks.

Review 92:location room friendly staff & spa

Review 93:Staffs are very friendly and most of staffs speak English. Staffs always want to help. Had a great view from my room and the breakfast is great
