Reviews for Cirilo Armstrong Hotel Boutique

Review 1:Because of huge window-walls for view of the city lights, soundproofing was poor. Sound of barking dogs seemed to go on all night, followed by crowing rooster at dawn. Also, difficult to find since street is divided in completely disconnected sections & very misleading map came with Booking.com confirmation. Breakfast very standard.

Review 2:Location was excellent for sightseeing, interesting little shops, & restaurants. Staff was extremely helpful, & rooms (we had 2) were gorgeous & well-appointed. As a plus, the entire hotel is a virtual art gallery, from lobby to decorative pillows on bed.

Review 3:Our only issue was with the noise level at night... and we're talking dogs, not people! Every dog in Valparaiso made a point of partying in the ravine below the hotel until the wee hours of the morning... never heard anything quite like it..!

Review 4:great location... staff was very helpful and friendly...funky boutique hotel with a cool architectural design... outstanding breakfast!

Review 5:Could not rave more about Cirilo Armstrong Hotel. It is so chic and modern, with amazing views, cool decor, and craft beer in the mini fridge. The staff was fantastic, they were so sweet and helpful with anything we needed. We felt more at home here than anywhere else we stayed on our trip, our two nights there were not enough! It is also just around the corner from a bunch of amazing restaurants, and walking distance to the majority of the Valpo sights. This is a must-stay in Valparaiso!!

Review 6:- Breakfast was too healthy ;) Missed some scrambled eggs, etc ... - As a young couple we didn't feel too safe walking at night around the neighborhood (even though Cerro Alegre is considered perhaps the safest one)

Review 7:+ Location + Fireplace in our room + Great room lighting + Decoration + Malandrino, Italian restaurant nearby

Review 8:Some noise in the morning on the roof of our loft/room because of birds. Not super annoying except if you want to sleep until 10;)

Review 9:Stylish hotel owned by an architect. A great mix between design and Chilean materials. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Location is great in the heart of Cerro Alegre (and a few meters from Concepcion). Breakfast was good, maybe too simple/repetitive.

Review 10:Maybe more variety for the breakfast (which was very good !) for people staying several days as we did..

Review 11:Everything... beautiful address, view, decoration and service

Review 12:The location, the breakfast, the ciew from the room and the archictecture of the Hotel. The potential to make it a relaxing stay given that a massage is available.

Review 13:The location was very nice and "easy" to find -- we're still in Valparaiso and the roads are crazy! But we were able to park our rental car in the street with no problem at all. The hotel itself is gorgeous and calm. Our room had plenty of space and was very comfortable. You can watch the sun rise every morning and the breakfast was super healthy and delicious. We really felt like home. It's also very safe and there's always someone to help you. Really recommended.

Review 14:Kitchen had no utensils or pans, so werent able to cook or heat anything up for our child early in the morning. Room service is from 8.30am Lock on room door too low, so a child could open it and leave.

Review 15:Lovely designed hotel, with friendly staff and super service. Very laid back atmosphere made for a relaxing stay and piece of mind for our child to run around and explore. Duplex rooms were perfect for our 3yr old but wouldnt be for a younger child.

Review 16:The room gets to much light in the morning because the window are not entirely covered and there was a strange and loud noise coming from the ceiling most of the morning, so you can't get too much sleep.

Review 17:The location is nice, within a little hill you can see most of the north side of valparaiso. The service was fine and the rooms are spacius, good beds and clean bathroom.

Review 18:The noise from the town is sometimes overbearing, continuing right throughout the night. Kitchen facilities are minimal. The views from our room were restricted but would imagine they may be better from other rooms.

Review 19:The staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to be helpful. Breakfast is a standout with external staff coming in to cook / prepare a fresh delicious breakfast. The rooms are spacious and airy. The hotel location is perfect, just out of the busy areas but easily accessible. Melbourne Cafe down near the train station serves the best coffee and Apice a block away is our preference for the whole of Chile!

Review 20:The hotel is more than expensive, considering what it offers for the money: it is placed very far from the central area, no air condition, no TV, limited running hot water, late and very poor breakfast, old towels. In Venice, for similar conditions you can pay less then half its price. The staff is very nice though. Virgil, Romania

Review 21:- the reservation got mixed up and we were told to get a room without a tv and hot tub. after we got in and came back from a little ciry walk, the staff rearanged everything and we got the right room.

Review 22:- view on the city from the hot tub - caring staff

Review 23:acess, shower did not work but they gave us access to another room, breakfast kinda late

Review 24:No safe in the room.

Review 25:Good design, comfortable room, panoramic view, professional and nice staff.

Review 26:Loved the terrace attached to the room. Great view of valparaiso hill side.

Review 27:Modern style, good breakfast, nice staff

Review 28:Modern style, very nice view ,good breakfast helpfull staff

Review 29:None to mention

Review 30:Service location and breaks awesome as were staff

Review 31:View, breakfast, location, stylish

Review 32:Difficult to find by car using google maps

Review 33:Great boutique hotel, beautiful city view, great location, fantastic staff, a real gem!!!!

Review 34:We loved Valparaiso and Cirillo Armstrong hotel was the perfect place to stay while we explored this vibrant city. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and helped create a laid back, relaxed atmosphere. The great view across the city from our room (4) is something we will always remember.

Review 35:Great location. Friendly staff. Large, spacious rooms. A quiet oasis in the pretty lively and noisy city Valparaiso. Breakfast with fresh homemade juice and yoghurt provides the perfect start in the day.

Review 36:WIFI in rooms didn't work so was a pain to access.

Review 37:Great location, friendly and helpful staff, well designed lobby and rooms for us. Staff at desk made coffee for us when we arrived from overnight flight even though we weren't scheduled to check in until mid afternoon. Location was accessible to bars and restaurants and downtown.

Review 38:Barking dogs that start at about 8pm at night but go on to the early hours of the morning. However, this was something out of the control of the hotel.

Review 39:The staff were fantastic and helped us so much. The vibe of the hotel was very cool and funky. We loved sitting down in the early evening, sipping on Pisco Sours and soaking up their eclectic playlist of music. The hotel is centrally located so there is a never-ending choice of restaurants and bars to visit. We recommend 'Apice'. Special thanks to Karena and Victor.

Review 40:Not so much a dislike, but the hotel did not have on site parking. They do, however, have spots you can rent a few blocks away. Only a slight inconvenience and one you can easily live with.

Review 41:Hotel Cirilo Armstrong is a fabulous hotel—from the location to the rooms to breakfast to staff. It exceeded our expectations and made Valpo (a city that already offers so much) even sweeter. I highly recommend it.

Review 42:nope all great, internet vould be improved

Review 43:the location of lastarria is superb...........and the rooms are very good, all you need and you can sleep in peace. Reception staff en the owner are very friendly and helpfull..........nothing seems for them a problem....great concept you feel at home with them

Review 44:We found everything at this hotel to our liking. The setting was picturesque, the rooms were comfortable and attractively decorated and the breakfast was delicious. The staff welcomed us to the hotel as of we were being welcomed to their home and gave excellent advice about restaurants to try and places to visit.

Review 45:Loved it all!

Review 46:Cirilo is a great loft styled boutique hotel in the hills of Valparaiso. The price was great and the rooms were gorgeous if you like the minimal design aesthetic. They are loft spaces with clean lines and huge floor to ceiling windows overlooking the hills. The staff was extremely sweet and helpful and there's a nice breakfast included in the room rate. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Review 47:Not worth mentioning

Review 48:Elizibeth, at the front desk, is a valuable asset to your business. She helped us so very much in filling all our needs. We loved the comfort of our room and the two level size was very special. The breakfast was excellent. The location was also very good.

Review 49:Difficult to find not well signed. Was put off when asked for a tip when paying the account. Could not contact by phone

Review 50:Close to cafe's and to restaurants. Friendlyness of the girl at check inn

Review 51:The bathroom was small and a little awkward to use - cramped bathrooms bug me. Breakfast was really good but not served until 8.30. The Pisco sours from the hotel are not the best, go to the local restaurants instead!

Review 52:Spacious rooms with interesting design & layout. Lots of great artworks on the walls, great views of Valparaiso & a great location to access restaurants and places of interest. The staff were lovely and nothing was a problem & made some great recommendations, especially for places to eat. Bed was comfortable with a great view of the city as the apartments have lots of windows.Internet connection was great - no problems with anything! Learned that most of the wood used in the hotel was reclaimed from old houses in Valpo that had been burned out, you can see black patches and old nail holes in it!

Review 53:The breakfast was good but the portions were extremely small

Review 54:The staff were superb spoke perfect English and provided great assistance in booking the next hotel on our route

Review 55:I took my family (8yrs to 68yrs) to experience Chilean culture. Stayedin 3 places. This one was quite unique. Exactly as represented inFrommer's & Trip Advisor. I use these as well as Fodor to make myselections.Location was good. Service good. Kids thought the loft was fun. The only con would be the difficulty for taxi drivers to locate the hotel. To make matters trickier, there was lots of construction to repair the cobblestone streets resulting in many blocked streets with detours. I did offer some suggestions to the receptionist. We had 4 gals in one unit so hair and make-up was difficult with just one mirror in the loft bathroom. It would have been helpful to have a mirror on the 1st floor. Maybe on the back of of the closet door on the 1st floor. Also, the twin beds on the 1st floor had no nightstand between the beds so reading was really impossible. Nightstand with a light is desirable. My last thought is to provide a mat for the tub. I'm 68 and was a bit afraid of slipping in the shower. The grab bar was much appreciated. I was the hostess for my family for this trip. Unfortunately, I was pick-pocketed on the metro in Santiago. They got my credit cards which I had to cancel. The hotel was so patient to wait until I got my new card from AMEX just a couple of hours before we were checking out. I would definitely recommend your hotel to friends and would love to return if I am lucky enough to return to Valpo. Sylvia Jorgensen Villegas Louisville, Kentucky USA

Review 56:The staff was very friendly and helpful with directions and suggestionson where to eat and what to see. This was a cosy environment with asmall and friendly bar/reception area. The location was perfect fortouring Valparaiso. The loft inspired rooms were comfortable with agreat balcony overlooking the hillside of Valparaiso.

Review 57:Great architecture, vibe and staff - the attention to detail goes asfar as having a few toys available in the lobby to entertain kids - agreat hotel!

Review 63:design of hotel, staff, breakfast, lounge
