Reviews for Capo Bay Hotel
Review 1:Poor wi-fi. In fact no wi-fi at all. Neither free nor paid for. Connection so poor that I couldn't even send photos via Internet. Had to ask to change the room because we had booked sew view but the room that we were given had side sea view. I didn't like the fact that I had to ask for the services which I had paid for.
Review 2:The beach, the staff, the sunbeds (you get your personal sunbeds!), the towel service (you can change towels as many times as you wish!), the food, the view from the room (although we had to ask to change the room because at first the view was not what had been booked).
Review 3:There is absolutely nothing I did not like about the Capo Bay.
Review 4:The first impressions given by check in staff - so helpful, welcoming and friendly. Checked in around mid afternoon on 14 October (so I hope you can again thank the staff again on my behalf). The bar and dining room staff were also so friendly and helpful. the quality of the food in the hotel was outstanding and the facilities at the hotel top class. Look forward to my next stay in May 2015.
Review 5:Some issues with the cleanliness in the room ( dirty glasses, bathtub) but the staff did reacted immediately. For sure not a 5 star hotel.
Review 6:Great location, close to the beach and wonderful, clean water. Great to have your sun lounger booked for the stay.
Review 7:Beautiful modern hotel in a great location. Clean, warm staff, generous breakfasts, spectacular views. Beautiful boardwalk on the beach with every amenity for fun in the water. Great nightclubs and restaurants just steps away.
Review 8:First of all! Staff must learn to smile! As we arrived shortly before the planed check in time, first nobody would advise us (as team spoke together few minutes we should ask "is the room ready?"), then we were not really warmed welcomed at all. Any welcome drink or attention would have been welcome in such an Hotel. Don't know to do a Mojito (Two places - same bad / wrong recipe), are half the price and twice better in any bar nearby.
Review 9:Liked everything
Review 10:Very professional reception. A warm welvome and made to feel special Nothing is too much trouble. Place is spotless, beautiful spacious room. Beautiful pool and hotel right near the beach. Scrumptious breakfast wjthu plenty kf choice. Probably my favourite hotel and I have stayed in many 5 star hotels world wide.
Review 11:The staff were very unfriendly and didn't make you feel welcome. In fact some staff were hostile to when questioned on timings or facilities.
Review 12:Good access to Protaras centre
Review 13:drinks too pricey ...dining wasnt to our liking would of preferred buffet ...bit mislead on that front .
Review 14:the idea of having yr sunbed for the stay is good ..lovely and clean..staff very pleasant..loved the buffet breakfasts
Review 15:Unfortunately the room was right above the street (with sea view though) which made it noisy. We heard the party noises, but when we closed the balcon door the air condition was noisy. This was quite pity for the night sleeping (but during the afternoon nap it was not bothering). We did not spend too much time in the room though, but it would have had been just perfect on the other side of the corridor/building. Next time we will be cleverer :)
Review 16:Hotel is situated right on the beach, fantastic (like 1 min walk from the hotel building door opened at the pools, very-very close)! You had your own sunbeds and umbrella at the pool and you could choose which one you would like, plus towel change service! Pool and pool area is clean. Beach is very nice and water was warm. In general we liked the hotel very much except the room we have received. Food in the morning was very good, employees at reception and in the restaurants, cleaning lady, pool service etc. very polite, helpful and kind.
Review 17:WiFi - limited free access. For the 21st century, this is poor. Veg in Koi restaurant were COLD! Housekeeping should be better for a 5 star hotel. No price list for mini bar.
Review 18:Breakfast - superb! Comfy bed - lovely little balcony. Wonderful grounds, well kept.
Review 19:carpet in the room was extremely dirty, if you need soap you must ask every day, during breakfast personal is so busy, so they way behind in cleaning and setting up tables Room is tiny
Review 20:Nice location next to fig tree beach, good pool for adults and for children's. Nice personal. Bed sheets replaced every 3 days
Review 21:During our stay the main pool was closed for half day for an unknown reason.
Review 22:Beautiful hotel clean and neat Very good location right in the middle of Protaras so no need to rent an ATV and the bus stop is 100m away and it passes every 20mn in case you want to go to Ayya Napa. Friendly staff. The family room we've been given and which was located on the ground floor (room159) was very quite at night and the beds and pillows were very comfy. The breakfast is rich. The restaurant "mama's" is good. Enchanting setting at "KOI" lounge. Relatively small pools for a 5 stars hotel The spa is clean and spacious. I recommend this hotel specially for families.
Review 23:The master bed was too soft for our taste. The WiFi in the free areas was not usable. The children playground was not cleaned regularly.
Review 24:We loved the location and the facilities, especially the jacuzzi
Review 25:I had reservation and I pay for one triple adult superior room with see view in the Claimed 5 star hotel (288 Euro per night with breakfast included), but unfortunately I receive one normal double room with one children extra bed and very small Balcony (2 square meters) Capo bay rooms (At list on the Hotel new constructed part) Rooms can’t rich more than 3 star with indulgence. Out of the matrimonial bed from the room and continues smile and good service of the hotel personnel, the CAPO Bay hotel have nothing else in common with 5 star hotel. This testimony is coming from one tourist witch has travel 2 times per year around the European Union in around 16 Countries in the past 8 years.
Review 26:Family rooms are too small for a family! Very overpriced in the minibar, pool bar etc. EUR 2.50 for a cold coffee at a Larnaca beach versus EUR 4.60 in the Hotel. Come on!
Review 27:Great location, friendly staff and superb breakfast.
Review 28:Nothing really.
Review 29:Prime beach location, excellent restaurants and quality of food within Capo Bay. Easy access to public transport enabling. Overall all the staff were friendly and I had a fabulous time - thank you.
Review 30:Location was great very clean and nice hotel. Staff was amazing and really helpful. They have accommodated all of our requests and helped us with the baby. They even brought fresh fruits to our room every day which was a very nice touch. Would be staying at capo bay again next year! Very good indeed.
Review 31:The WiFi is free only for 24hours. After you need to pay.
Review 32:Great location. Excellent staff and very good quality of breakfast. Really nice sea view from the room. Highly recommended!!
Review 33:The sun beds are allocated to u when u arrive and are urs for the entire time u stay at the hotel. This is a brilliant idea but the organization of this system is not great. We were supposed to have 4 beds but only ended up with 3 and then they have a other one away. All got sorted in the end but annoying
Review 34:Location was perfect
Review 35:No differences between Sea view & Side sea view rooms, only 100 euro higher price.Poor Wi-Fi.Poor Cyprus Meze in Mamas restaurant.
Review 36:Perfect hotel location in Fig tree bay & Amazing sea ,very good breakfast .
Review 37:Side sea view room 403 & sea view room 411 had the same sea view , but 100 euro higher price, not acceptable.Generally is not 5 star hotel.Very poor quality of Wi-Fi. Dinner in Mammas restaurant was poor-Cypriot meze-very far from reality.
Review 38:Staff generally,,location.
Review 39:The housekeeping should be more attentive.
Review 40:Everything was great, the front desk staff was very helpful and Mrs Maria, the front desk manager is an amazing person, very charming, professional and efficient.
Review 41:All of the staff were very friendly and the service was first class, especially from the public relations manager(Katerina Soulitoi). The food at the hotel was excellent in every restaurant, and the general ambience of the hotel was calm and relaxing.
Review 42:The level of room service. The overall quality of food and service was average, except The Koi restaurant, which was exceptional in most ways. They should serve food in Koi (breakfast or snacks) on the morning, not only coffee and drinks. Not even from other restaurants of the same hotel.
Review 43:The location is amazing, the beach as well and the Koi restaurant is a must visit in the area, probably the best japanese fusion around in Protaras/Ayia Napa. The Koi's lounge area is really nice and peaceful, although was bad not serving food in the morning, only coffees and drinks.
Review 44:-The continuous smell of frying and grilling near the main pool. -
Review 45:-Location,Location,Location -Breakfast -changing room offering if having a late checkout.
Review 46:It is ridiculous to need to pay for WiFi after paying 168 Euro per night. Even when paid it doesn't really work. Food is overpriced
Review 47:Excellent breakfast with many things to choose from. Clean rooms Great pool services Amazing location
Review 48:The showers ! Ridiculous , difficult to work . One night I was just about to have a shower before going out and no water , asked reception and they said it was the whole of Protaras , but when we got to a restaurant they hadn't heard of any problems with the water.
Review 49:Location and the fact they had an adults only pool .,although there wasn't enough shade by the pool loungers .
Review 50:Fairly expensive so free WiFi would of been nice instead of having to pay extra.
Review 51:The staff were very helpful. It was my partners birthday and I had a cake and balloons to hide which they assisted with. The hotel also gave us a complimentary bottle of wine as it was her birthday!
Review 52:The family room is tiny, there isnt enough room to move. The fact that you cant find a sunbed around the pool as they are all pre booked for a week each.
Review 53:The hotel is located in obe of the islands most iconic beaches
Review 54:when we arrived at reception we were welcomed with a local drink and our bags were taken to our room. The reception staff are wonderful as are the maids who clean the rooms thoroughly each day and always have a smile for the guests. A beautiful hotel!
Review 55:Don't stay in room 303! You can hear EVERYTHING from the karaoke bar. Didn't sleep until gone 2am. It's supposed to be a family room. Complained at 1am and they said they'd ask them to turn it down but it didn't make a difference. Wasn't worth the £155
Review 56:Great hotel, great rooms, nice beach.
Review 57:Location, service is excellent and you get a sun lounger with your room for the duration of your stay, so no stress even if you don't use it to find one. Breakfast is superb.
Review 58:Only complaint is that he the family room for 2 adults and 2 kids was a little small with little room for moving or all our things.
Review 59:Amazing hotel. Great location. Excellent service. Had a room on ground floor that opened up into the gardens leading to the pool - perfect for us and the kids. Will definitely go back.
Review 60:- too high price for a mediocre 4star hotel (by the way it's 4 star, not 5 as stated on Booking.com) - No free wi-fi in the room (are we in 19th century?) and paid wi-fi is available only for 1 device - Service at reception is not the best, we've requested a queen bed and late checkout (both option were available during the booking process) - both requests were ignored and nobody even apologized or offered any alternatives - Rooms are small though clean - The hotel has no private beach so we had to pay for sunbeds (which is unfortunately a normal thing for Cyprus but still irritates a lot, especially when you pay 200EUR and above per night)
Review 61:- Beach - Location - Breakfast - Baby cot was provided upon request
Review 62:The only thing that I didn't agree with is 90% of the sunbeds were all reserved. When you arrive at the hotel you pick your sunbed and that's yours for the entire stay at the hotel. Only 15% were occupied and we were left with one stuck in the corner. Surely it would be best to reserve them on the day you want to lay round the pool and if you leave and don't want to come back then hand back a card like the towel service.
Review 63:The location was perfect with clear blue sea and rich golden sands. The hotel grounds were lovely and clean and had everything you need.
Review 64:We stayed on the street side, no vehicle street noise, but for this level of hotel, the soundproofing in the room was bad. We could clearly here the adjacent room and the band at the bar 150 meters away. Something should be done.
Review 65:Right on Fig Bay with quick access to the beach, 20 different places to eat walking distance, and a professional spa and overall very friendly staff.
Review 66:We did not have a feeling that our stay was worth the money we paid. The hotel itself is pretty average for its' star rating, nothing really outstanding and no local touch. What has really spoiled our stay and overall impression from the venue was the minidisco for kids which we once attended. Extremely unprofessional staff working with the kids. The 'lady' who was holding this event seemed to be bored with it all. No welcome to the kids/parents who joined the event, not much effort in interacting with children, no proper goodbye. There were only 2 other girls attending with dads - 3 kids in total, while in other hotels with qualified (or at least kind to kids staff) the minidisco in the evening is a cheerful event which gathers nearly all the families with kids staying there. No wonder there were only 3 kids attending. I would not go there twice either. Our kid did not get a candy at the end of the disco (while the other 2 participants did) cause he danced close to us and did not want to dance together with the 'lady' animator. She said ''candies are only for the dancers''..it was a bit difficlult to explain a 2 year guy why the 'lady' considers him not to be a dancer and why all the other kids got a candy and he did not.. The complain is not about candies of course, it's a heads up on the staff hired to work with kids. We think they should be at least kind with children, not to mension professionalism.
Review 67:Most of the staff tried to be nice and polite.
Review 68:Book early to avoid disappointment because this place is undoubtedly going to be full during the summer holiday season.
Review 69:Only stayed for two days great resort for families. Staff polite and helpful, Highly recommended.
Review 70:Free WiFi only in reception area. Nowadays it should be free everywhere.
Review 71:Location, standard of public areas and quality of furnishings, bedrooms, staff and food.
Review 72:Me and my wife got married here in August 2013 and the staff couldn't have done enough, a great place to go and a great location. All in all a very memorable hotel.
Review 73:Location was on the best part of Fig Tree Bay beach. Walking distance to everything. Surrounded by restaurants and bars. Breakfast was soooo good! Some great walks along nature trails and paths.
Review 74:Nothing to dislike here
Review 75:The staff were polite friendly and eager to please, helpful in every way possible. Hotel location couldn't be better and the food is excellent.
Review 76:Free wifi is very slow and only works in public areas. Worth paying to upgrade to the faster, in-room wifi.
Review 77:Excellent location, near lots of bars/restaurants. Lovely decked promenade to walk along the beach front.
Review 78:No free wifi in the rooms. Unacceptable, unacceptable, unacceptable!
Review 79:All good except the fact that there is no free wifi in the rooms. Unacceptable nowadays.
Review 80:I've been going to this hotel for over 3 years. Each time I am greeted by a warm and friendly staff and a copa. The hotel and rooms have always been very clean. The breakfast is awesome and I just love the omelet station. Wow does that girl work hard and does an amazing job! The bar staff, be it inside or at the pool bar are professional and delightful. The views are fantastic from the rooms balcony, of course depending on where you choose to stay. I've only eaten breakfast at the hotel and once for dinner on Easter Sunday and all were pretty decent. My experience at the Capo Bay has always been positive and wonderful. I look forward to my next stay and saying Hi to my extended family!
Review 81:Tea at breakfast was not served satisfactorily. Water for tea bags should be boiling. We were served with a pot of hot water and four tea bags. It would not be difficr to serve a pot of tea.
Review 82:The shower
Review 83:Food and drink is a bit pricey, but it's a top hotel so I wouldn't expect anything less and in the summer there are plenty of eateries in Protaras. More of an observation than a dislike
Review 84:The massage I had is definitely up there with the greatest! I went to relax and I certainly did that! The room was huge with a shower I could have stayed under for days. And chilling on a bean bag under the warm spring sun enjoying an ice cold Keo made my first afternoon complete!
Review 85:Considering the economic condition of Cyprus the room rate prices are quite high .
Review 86:Had a great sea view room. Sun beds very close to the sea. Rooms cleaned ever day to a high standard. Stayed on a bed and breakfast rate. Breakfast was excellent with a great variety of continental and fully cooked choices.
Review 87:Not very many plug sockets in the room
Review 88:very helpful reception staff lovely outdoor pool changing room provided free of charge which was very useful as we had a late check out
Review 89:We loved the fantastic location - beautiful hotel grounds so close to the beach. Breakfast was delicious - everything available to eat that you could wish for and the hotel rooms were very nicely presented with big comfortable beds, dressing gowns and slippers.
Review 90:The price was probably reasonable and on par for a (Cyprus)five star hotel but thought the WiFi charge was a bit expensive. It was free in the hotel lobby but I thought a little bit expensive,if you wanted it,in your room. The shower was complicated to use
Review 91:The location was good, beach right at the back of the hotel, shops, restaurants and bars at the front of the hotel.
Review 92:no remote control of tv ...the shower curtain was keeping falling. the shower very complicated to use . staff not responding quick to customers calls..
Review 93:The position of the hotel on the beach
Review 94:Rooms were small, lavatory pans were shaking, not enough space to store all the clothes, big noise from the interconnecting room, poor service at the italian restaurant and the food was nothing special. To have an umbrella and sunbeds on the grass, you should reserve them in advance! The hotel is old and is not worth such big amount of money that we paid.
Review 95:Rooms were clean, nice swimming pool, big choice of restaurants in and around the hotel, nice view of the sea, good choice of high quality food for breakfast
Review 96:We booked a room with sea view, got view on parking site, facing the north (no sun during whole day), so small that there was no place for the suitcases. This was definitely our worst stay in a 5 star hotel. Not recommended unless you like a noisy location in a very touristic area (fast food chains, karaoke bars etc), sharing breakfast with a hundred other guests and fighting with the management for the room type you've booked. Attention: wifi on the room is charged per device.
Review 97:Door to balcony can be opened for fresh air; nice public beach nearby. Nothing positive apart of that, we were really happy to leave this place.
Review 98:Hotel drinks a bit pricey.
Review 99:Right on the beach, Amazing views overall was very impressed with the hotel rooms, pool area and the breakfast buffet. Very good location in the centre of protoras.
Review 100:We took the room with half border to have dinner in the hotel.but it's was so bed, its not buffet, it's by menu" la carte" and you can't order something expensive, always charge extra.and also we must pay extra for soft drink, I know, that for alcohol ussyally pay,not for water.with half board, we spend more money, because pay to much extra.
Review 101:- the location was superb and only a few steps away from Fig Tree Bay - upon your arrival the pool staff will book your sunbeds so for your whole stay so you never have to worry about where to sit everyday ... perfect for lazy mornings ;) - The room had a modern design and was very spacious, all amnesties were working perfectly and the cleaning team did an amazing job everyday - The bed is fantastic and very comfortable All in all this hotel is the best I have tried in Cyprus.
Review 102:no free wifi in the rooms
Review 103:the location was amazing, near protaras shops, pubs and resto and the bust stop, and on the nicest sea bay! the stuff were very friendlies, a lot of facilities and activities at the hotels, the room was excellent . one of the best stay!
Review 104:Beautiful location right on fig tree bay beach! Gorgeous modern hotel with everything you can ask for, has two pools one being adults only! Extremely clean everywhere in and out side! Have been to many 5 star hotels including Costantinos the great and Grecian park and this hotel is so much more comfortable! Will be going back again next year that's for sure! Loved it!
Review 105:The reception on arrival did not even bothered to advice how to open the rooms door which is a kind of scan a card in an area of the doors lock that does not have any sign or indication for it. The breakfast was definitely not what was expected from a 5 stars hotel more specifically the waffles served were giving the feeling that they were there for days,Crepes are not available in this 5 stars hotel. Not enough Parking space especially if the hotel accommodates another event like a wedding you may end up searching for parking space for quite a long time.On arrival the staff will not bother to assist you bringing your personal effects in the hotel even if you have parked far away in the small parking area which is in the basement and you have a 2 years old child with you.
Review 106:Location is good in the heart of Protaras and there is a very nice beach on the seaside of the Hotel.Swimming Pool is ok.
Review 107:hopeless at breakfast time the only let down at this hotel two mornings in a row i had to ask for tea on several occasions was just about finished breakfast when arrived and this happened both mornings.
Review 108:the location is second t none right on the beach the hotel is very clean and well organised they even offered a bottle of water for the journey as we left which i thought was excellent customer service. this is the second stay in this hotel and will return again.
Review 109:Cleanliness of the room, cleanliness of the cups, plates, spoons , forks and knifes most of them they were having stains from food, or sticky. Under the bed it was so so dirty, drawers was also dirty we did clean them our Selves to put our clothes in. Corridors were smelling bad! Most of the staff they do not know what smile is, specially in the restaurant!
Review 110:Location is perfect!
Review 111:am vikend is big problem on the beach, weil is public beach cleanliness is not maintained as it should Very bad WIFI !!
Review 112:Beach and location is very good
Review 113:Clean and nice room The stuff was very helping and welcoming The hotel have everything you need and it's in a very centered place, bars, restaurants and shops... Very clean beach
Review 114:We booked a double room with a double beds and ended up getting 2 beds pushed together. Didn't want to make a fuss so just went with it.
Review 115:The atmosphere in the hotel was created from the very moment you walk into reception. Very different from the rest of protaras atmosphere.
Review 116:room cleanliness beds are old and uncomfortable we booked room with seaview & pool view but we were given a small room with a side view of sea
Review 117:location (near sea), facilities (pool, restaurants, lobby), breakfast, reception service in general I recommend the hotel mainly because of its location near one of the best beaches in Cyprus
Review 118:The bed making - they transform the two single beds into a double in a bizard way which is not confortable. We complained about it and they fix it right away.
Review 119:Staff was excellent and helpfull in whatever you need.
Review 120:Very close to a 'strip' of bars that were a bit tacky. Beach lovely but very small space for sunbathing and rather crowded. Drinks at bar and food round pool expensive.
Review 121:Clear blue sea Hotel modern style Hotel Staff Breakfast buffet Spa
Review 122:Nothing!!
Review 123:The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Facilities at the hotel were outstanding. Two pools, one adults only. Amazing choice of restaurants. Loads of choice at breakfast. In spite of what said in some reviews, the rooms are not small. Spotlessly clean. Loads of choice of good restaurants nearby.
Review 124:We enjoy the swimming pool, the clear sea, and the amazing cocktails at KOI bar restaurant! The suite we stayed was more than nice and the breakfast had everything. Our two little girls enjoy the playground and they were so excited with the disco for kids entertainment! The stuff also were very helpful. That is why we will continue to go there!!
Review 125:Perfect location on the most amazing beach in Cyprus. The hotel doesn't look like anything special from the outside but once you enter the main entrance you know you're on holiday. The room is basic but has everything you need and immaculately clean. Complimentary greek sweets and a bottle of Zivania left as a gift. Definitely staying there again!
Review 126:They keep empty swimming pool beds for people they reserve those and might never come to pool. I paid 170 euros per night and I could not sit at the swimming pool. Small swimming pool btw
Review 127:Good service at the reception
Review 128:you need to book sun beds (at no extra cost) or you may end up not having one! all the good spots were taken throughout our stay. we simply could not figure out how does this work and the old person in charge is not very helpful unlike rest of hotel staff. also note: beach is public and you even have to pay for sun beds at the beach.
Review 129:kind and welcoming staff. clean rooms and facilities. excellent location near many convenient stores, pubs and restaurants.
Review 130:We had specifically asked for a double bed rather than twin beds pushed together when we booked the hotel. We had a confirmation email via Booking.com saying that had been accepted. When we arrived, we were given a twin-bedded room. I called reception who were fairly disinterested and said there were no rooms available with double beds. So they sent the chamber maids to push the twin beds together and remake the beds. I don't like them promising what they cannot deliver.
Review 131:Cleanliness, friendliness of staff, huge, extensive breakfast offering, wonderful showers in the rooms.
Review 132:The hotel room was very small , the ensuite doors wouldn't close and we had a terrible time trying to flush the toilet!! The most annoying thing was the really bad Internet connection , how any hotel of this standard function without adequate Internet connectivity is beyond words !! The morning breakfast was very chaotic no order , they didn't even show you to your seat . We had to wait some time for pouched eggs as they forgot .
Review 133:The hotel sun loungers were places well , you didn't feel like you were on top of other people , unlike some of the more popular hotels in the area. The position of the hotel just by the beach meant you could sunbathe on the grass and just walk down a few steeps to the sea.
The Fine Print
