Reviews for Beach Acres Resort
Review 1:Not so much a bad experience but the pillows in our cabin were very hard. Just a personal choice of comfort.
Review 2:We stayed in forest cottage 57. Very clean, with all the amenities one would hope for. Quiet area. Really enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant with good friends. Just lovely! Easy check in, nice reception.
Review 3:The cabin was a bit small for a family of 5 .( as our children are young adults). I would try for a two bedroom with a loft next time. Our cabin was in between two big families so they kept crossing over our patio all the time. ( not the resorts fault).
Review 4:The location of the cabin is right on the beach.Amazing . The resort amenities and staff were excellent. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed. The grounds were lite up for the season and very beautiful. We would come back .
Review 5:We love Beach Acres! We are a group of female friends who try to get away for a girls' weekend at least once per year and this is our go to resort. We love the location; the accommodations are always spotless clean and comfortable; the staff are friendly and helpful.
Review 6:The beach acres website said all beachfront cabins had 2 bedrooms, but our unit had 1 bedroom and an open bunk bed unit next to the kitchen. It had a one foot curtain. We should pay less for being in what the staff said was 1 of 2 1-bedroom cabins on site.
Review 7:Nice beachfront.
Review 8:The feeling that if we weren't very careful with the cleaning etc. there would be big penalties. I understand the need for rules but it seems a little too upfront. However, it was a very nice place to stay. Thanks!
Review 9:facilities were great
Review 10:there was nothing at all we didn't like.
Review 11:The unit we had was perfectly situated; had lots of room; spectacular view; absolutely fantastic. Extra special having the end unit for the added privacy.
Review 12:Black Goose Inn is ok if you like everything with fries, that said, Cabin had all amenities and shops very local, better to cook your own!
Review 13:Cosy, beautifully maintained cabin in the woods, like the space in between cabins and the peace and quiet.
Review 14:Our friends from Ontario who wanted to give us a break from cooking for them at home, asked me to make arrangements for a cabin. I had previously been to the resort, visiting other folk from Ontario who were staying there and enjoyed it immensely. My husband and our friends could not have been more delighted with the accommodation. Hope to return next time with our four legged friend. Patricia
Review 15:Cottages need upgrading as this is an expensive property to stay at. Not a lot of activities available. Very small units on the beach, so hard to prepare meals in the very small kitchen. No visible 'separation' between cottage duplex units in the back patio and grass areas. We had four screaming kids running 20 feet in front of us as their parents sat on their patio next door. Some sort of a low fence (so that the view wouldn't be compromised) would have helped the situation, in that at least the kids would have stayed on their side. Poorly behaved children however, is not the resorts fault.
Review 16:Overpriced for very dated, very small cottages; however, cottages were very clean; I would normally expect more for such an expensive price per night however, location on the beach was fabulous, and views are amazing; good food in the Black Goose restaurant; quick drive into town for any purchases.
Review 17:We would love to have had 2 rooms with queen beds as the twin was hard to sleep in. The restaurant prices were a tad high. We went to go use the sauna and found out that we needed it turned on 1 hr before hand. Found some scum under the tap when taking a bath but other than that the room was impeccable. Could use large plastic glasses for the patio.
Review 18:We had an ocean view 2 townhouse which had a great view of the ocean. The whole upstairs was a large bedroom with an balcony, made for a great spot to have a drink in the moonlight or the morning sun. The layout of the place was very welcoming. The patio was always inviting and that is where we spent a lot of our time when we were in the place. We loved the beach and spending time when it was low tide. Loved the restaurant, pool and hot tub. We had towel in the bathroom that could last us a couple of weeks. Loved the kitchen with the fridge, stove and micro wave.
Review 19:The bunk in the second bedroom was a bit of a challenge - I didn't realize it was a bunk until we got there.
Review 20:Great comfort for 4 sisters over 60! Quiet, peaceful, close to the beaches - perfect!
Review 21:No restaurant on location. The nearby black goose restaurant was good and cheery, but the food came in slow. The cabins were a good value, but a bit dated.
Review 22:The location, could walk to the beach. And the beach was fantastic. When the tide was out, the beach was huge, and even when it was in, the water went to your knees for a huge distance. at the resort, table tennis and tennis courts were a favorite with our kids. Overall I would say this place is perfect for families with younger kids.
Review 23:Location was the best. A very clean well equipped unit. Staff friendly and helpful. I hope to return.
Review 24:Front desk staff friendly and efficent.
Review 25:The forest cabins are nicely spaced for good privacy. Having a pub/restaurant on site is great.
Review 26:Great Location on one of the best beaches anywhere. Perfect for little children because the tide goes out so far.
Review 27:There is lots to do without having to leave the resort. The beach is terrific.
Review 28:The proximity to the beautiful beach, large lawn in front of the unit, were just wonderful. The unit itself is very simple but clean and good!
Review 29:Cottage; quiet; and resting
Review 30:This resort is clean and well maintained. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Review 31:Beachfront with outdoor firepit was amazing:-)
Review 32:The location was perfect. The cottage was well appointed and cute. We had a great time and will be back.
Review 33:A little worn, could use a face-lift.
Review 34:Awesome fireplace and location. The pub is to die for.
Review 35:The weather
Review 36:the view
Review 37:Our first visit to Beach acres resort and absolutely loved it :) we will be booking a vacation there next time, not just one night. :)
Review 38:Very comfortable. Great restaurant if you don't feel like cooking and fantastic access to the beach.
Review 39:The peace and quiet, location and privacy made this a very enjoyable stay.
Review 40:Comfortable cabin, nicely decorated. Close to the beach, and a lovely path by the water and through the woods. Interesting places to visit nearby.
Review 41:Lots to do.
Review 42:But Wifi is so poor.
Review 43:I booked a two bedroom twonhouse that is very suitable for a big family with kids.More space to play and sleep. Good ocean view.
Review 44:Nothing.
Review 45:Wonderful site. Good facilities.
Review 46:We have a grandson who is autistic so cat locks on the sliding doors would of been helpful as he escaped one morning when we were all sleeping.
Review 47:Easy access to the beach and our suite #43 felt like home
Review 48:Great restaurant/pub on the grounds, great food. Newly renovated cabin that felt very clean. Right on the beach which was great for long walks. The pool seemed clean and was perfect for my daughter. Will book there again.
Review 49:Poor front desk reception on arrival: person on telephone for a long time & failed to acknowledge our presence or apologize for delay. Other than that, staff was very pleasant and helpful.
Review 50:We weren't there in good weather, but the entire site is fabulous and our cabin was comfortable, clean, and a very pleasant place to be. Loved the restaurant! Will return in sunny times.
Review 51:We stayed in unit #45 for 12 days. The unit was so clean and homely. We enjoyed our stay at beach acers so much it was sad to leave :( the whole resort was great! We'd Highly recommend it to all! We would defiantly book to stay here again. The staff were very helpful with anything we needed. :)
Review 52:The fact that we had to leave is the only negative.
Review 53:Our stay at Beach Acres forest cottage was quiet and relaxing. Beds cozy and kitchen well supplied with everything we needed. Fireplace made it cozy and romantic. The opportunity to have a fire on the beach in the evening as well as the close proximity to nature walks made this a perfect setting for what we needed. We will definately return. S & T
Review 54:I think that the price was high for the accommadations because it is still very original interiors from 25 years ago. It is however very clean and great for kids but as an older adult I certainly expected more high end for my money.
Review 55:You couldn't beat the beach!
Review 56:We liked walking on the beach and on the beautiful trails in the park next to the resort. We were able to visit with our friends in another townhouse and share meals, but not be constantly together. Nothing not to like. We will be back.
Review 57:I telephoned about renting bikes, and wanted one for my six year oldwith training wheels. I was told that was ok. When we got to the resortthe attachable childs bike had a piece missing, and maintenance hadthree days to find the part. They did not, so we could not go out on thebikes. I would have taken my daughters bike with us if I had knownbeforehand. We were disappointed.
Review 58:The cottage was lovely and Wendy and Dona, the reception staff went outof their way to make our stay great.
Review 59:Although we enjoyed our experience at Beach Acres, when booking onlineit appeared that the resort was full and only a few rooms remained. Onarriving at the site, it appeared that many rooms (cottages) were infact not occupied. This gives the appearance of false advertising.
Review 60:Comfortable, quiet, well-appointed, understandably a little worn butclean and a great location with respect to golf - next time an oceanview or ocean front room would be preferred.
Review 61:Plenty of space in the cottage. More personal and comfortable than the standard cookie-cutter hotel chains. Wonderful sea views. Very warm and cosy for a blustery January holiday.
Review 62:location was nice. bed very comfortable.excellent pub right nearby
