Reviews for The Beach Club Resort

Review 1:World class. The comfort, design, cleanliness and staff are up to the best properties we have visited globally. Super recommend and the price-value is unbeatable! No review. Have I ever given so good.

Review 2:Beautiful room and beautiful hotel right on the boardwalk and minutes to downtown. The only reason I gave it a less than perfect score on location was that the immediate neighbour on our side of the hotel was a boarded up old motel. Not ugly or unsightly at all, but not a park either. :-) Even though we didn't have an official view room, we actually did have a view of the bay because it is winter and the leaves weren't out on the poplars, which in summer would indeed block much of the view of the abandoned motel next door.

Review 3:We loved the view and enjoyed the beach walk. The apartment was comfortable and cozy with a gas fireplace adding a special ambiance for Christmas Eve. The amenities such as a dishwasher, coffee pot, toaster, iron etc. were perfect. The only thing missing was a heavier blanket for the hide-a-bed.

Review 4:try to get the bell boy or one of the staff to help you with the bags up especially if they're on the bag trolly . too many doors in hallways to go through between the east and west wings.

Review 5:The junior suite we stayed in was great , very spacious with a washer dryer and a full kitchen , felt like a mini condo. The view was spectacular , you step outside and you're on the beach with a beautiful board walk, great for a long walk by the water or even jogging and taking your dog for a run. It was very clean in the rooms .had everything we needed Very relaxing spot.

Review 6:We were given a lesser room then charged 20.$ more to move to the room we expected the next day. Yet they told us to book directly through them to receive a "better deal" next time. So we felt we paid too much. We felt we were treated "second best" Next to a large group they were giving priority to which I thought was badly handled as they came right out and said we can't give you that room as we have a large group coming in. We felt we should have received better reception and felt they were not welcoming as they expressed a reserved attitude toward us because we had booked through a third party- management gets an F from me. As a side note the hotel is attractive but they totally cheaped out on the photo art-it was so obviously done by an amateur maybe they got the head waiter who was a total airbag to go take some quick pics at the beach??

Review 7:The view in the second room that looked like the ad on booking.com

Review 8:We loved everything...it was a place I could move into. It felt like home the minute we arrived. The room was amazing...we will definitely go back at least once a month.

Review 9:The pool is noisy and outdated. The staff was not so friendly at the reception. The half ocean view was a little disappointing.. A little overpriced for my taste. A complimentary breakfast would have make my happy for what I paid for.

Review 10:Location and restaurant are good.

Review 11:- problems with cleanliness - had to request another suite due to lack of cleanliness of our original suite. - suite was overpriced compared to other better accommodation. - Parksville not very interesting and we shouldn't have bothered staying there.

Review 12:The only nice thing about the 'resort' is the setting at the water's edge. The view from suite was very pleasant.

Review 13:I was at the side of the building and while I still had a partial sea view; I did not care for the view of the deserted holiday venue next door. My room was well appointed however it looked like had someone had dripped on to the bathroom floor while standing & it did not get cleaned by the cleaners. Some surfaces were dusty.

Review 14:The location is world class. Staff are their strong point.

Review 15:The person on the balcony in front of us smoked non stop despite the signs on the balconies saying no smoking.

Review 16:The location can't be beat. Unfortunately it rained the whole time! (nobodies fault)

Review 17:Our experience was great. The only thing we thought of was the rooms are a bit pricey. That would be the only thing we could say that we didn't like.

Review 18:It was BEAUTIFUL!!!! Peaceful & relaxing atmosphere. So close to the beach. We had a bit of a view of the beach from our room. So lovely. Next time we'll request a full view. The restaurant too was lovely. Excellent food as well. As well loved that the parking was included & free bike rentals!!! Next time we'll try the bikes for SURE!!!!!!

Review 19:We have stayed there twice this year and I would go back again .My husband is blind , and the service we get from the staff is up and beyond , they go out of their way to make sure we are comfortable and happy --thank you again for a great stay ----------Dick and Joy Bruce

Review 20:Bed took my breath away it was so hard. I couldn't use the phone to connect to front desk or room service. It just rang busy!

Review 21:Loved the view and the room itself was amazing.

Review 22:What I thought I had booked didn't happen but the guest clerk enabled a better locate. She was very helpful. Too short a stay. Required valet parking because the underground was full.

Review 23:General comfort and convenience.

Review 24:Would have liked a better selection in the restaurant. More fresh, local, Vancouver Island menu.

Review 25:Nice, clean, comfy rooms with mini kitchen. Fantastic location, right on the boardwalk/beach.

Review 26:The room was extremely noisy from the street . There were a lot of cars thru out the night. The restaurant service was extremely slow. When we went to get take out coffee and the female wait staff wanted to know if we wanted change. The change would have been from a $10.00.When my friend said yes she wanted to know how much change she should give. She basically asked for a tip of approximately $6.00. I feel staff asking for a large tip for pouring you a coffee to go is a bit much. In the end my friend did not give her anything as it was very RUDE. Also $297 for a very small room is a lot of money . One would have expected a little luxury for that amount. There was no luxury.

Review 27:Aside from no luxury we liked our room and loved the balcony. The front desk staff was excellent and very helpful.

Review 28:price was steep for a family to stay per night. and the wifi kept kicking my friend and myself out and we kept havng to reinstall. p.s. for the breeakfast room servive have a place for ordering sides like bacon or extra fruit. etc.

Review 29:staff was amazing. always smiling.

Review 30:Alot of "little" things were not clean. The Bathtub had a soap scum ring and there was mold in the grout in the shower. One of our "clean" robes to wear had a cigarette lighter in the pocket.. (we don't smoke). hmmmm...Makes you wonder if it was really clean to begin with. The coffee pot had coffee stains in the carafe and some of the silverware was dirty. These were just a few of the little things that really bugged me..not life altering ..but in my book the cleanliness just wasn't up to par for the price of the room.

Review 31:On the good side the view was incredible. There was lots of space and room to relax. Plus the restaurant and waitstaff were excellent.

Review 32:Parksville itself not what we expected. Hotel next to crazy golf, amusement arcades etc. we had hoped for something a bit more rural. That's not the hotels fault of course.

Review 33:Great view if beach from hotel room

Review 34:The beach in front is only interesting at low tide. All by all rather busy close to the throughroad in the back. Too much building density on too small a lot. You feel a bit of an industrialed tourist, certainly considering the price

Review 35:The bathroom cleanliness left much to be desired. It was fine for a 'Travelodge' or 'Relax Inn', but not for the expense of the BCR! We advised the front desk, and they said the comments would be passed along to housekeeping.

Review 36:It was very quiet, so we had a good sleep. Lovely location. Get a room with a view of the ocean - otherwise it is a very expensive room to see the street. Thursday Prime rib dinner was delicious.

Review 37:The air conditioner didnt work for the first couple days. We brought this to the attention of the front desk but no one came until we called again. When someone came up to the suite we later found out the circuit breaker was off. Asked for a playpen/crib for our baby and it didn't come until day 2 after we asked for it again. My husband went to the spa had a massage and a pedicure. Pedicure was done poorly. Not what he's had at other spas before.

Review 38:The lady who checked us in at 2 AM was soooo helpful and wonderful! I didn't get her name but she assisted us with our bags up to the room and even parked our vehicle for us while we got settled.

Review 39:My daughters and Grandchildren loved the pool, plus very close to the beach and park. I used to live on Vancouver island and I wanted them to know how Vancouver Island the people are like. Very down to earth and very happy

Review 40:I think the price was a bit high.

Review 41:It's so nice being able to walk to the beach right from your hotel room. This place is walking distance to all shops and restaurants in town. The on-site restaurant has incredible food and I found it very impressive that they even had a child's menu. It was amazing sitting and having dinner and a glass of wine and looking at the ocean and I found it very impressive that they even had a child's menu. It was amazing sitting and having dinner and a glass of wine and looking at the ocean

Review 42:food tray left at door from prior guest all day when we checked in. also no towels when swimming. also thought we had beach front and paid allot for abandoned building view.

Review 43:comfortable, wifi

Review 44:Fumes and a bad smell coming from the restaurant below, when you're on the balcony of the suite on the 4th floor in the main tower. We upgraded ourselves to a sea front suite because of it.

Review 45:The view, location and size of the suite and spacious bathroom.

Review 46:This was an excellent suite, and we were able to relax, cook our own food when we wanted to, enjoy the wonderful restaurant downstairs, or drive to all the various other restaurants in the area. The room was clean, the view was amazing, and everything was perfect.

Review 47:Small, simple efforts can make the first impression better. For example, wiping the fridge down and taking a cloth over the door and handle along with the glass tops.

Review 48:The location was excellent and the amenities offered options.

Review 49:I didn't like the fact we only stayed one night! Should have been way longer. Great sleep and quiet room.

Review 50:The staff was incredible. We met a cousin we had not seen for years and the waiter was great. He was fun and did not rush us along as we continued to chat and chat. The view and food was outstanding,

Review 51:Problems checking in - second room was under a different name, but reception did not find it using confirmation page/# provided, so located half of our group at the far end from us. One room (330) was quite noisy with wind whistling in and a loud fan. Breakfast was nice food but very highly priced.

Review 52:Room felt very cramped. Hotel did not recognize Booking.com room rateuntil I made a fuss and showed the confirmation that I had received fromBooking.com via email. Only one elevator available so long waits. Airconditioning unit was very noisy.

Review 53:Proximity to the beach was excellent. Availability of arefrigerator, coffee maker, kettle and sink in the room was a bonus.Room was very clean.

Review 54:Secure underground parking garage was full, had to park in an unlit surface lot with uneven gravel service. The resort however, does offer a valet parking service for this if required.

Review 55:very well equipped one bedroom suite, with full kitchen

Review 56:I did not rent a car so the steep hill from the Main Street was difficult for my elderly Mother with her walker to navigate coming to & from the hotel. I also found the hot tub temperature was too hot.

Review 57:Room was very clean & comfortable. Also very quiet & had everything I needed for a few days stay, with great beach & ocean views!

Review 58:There is only one elevator to serve the tower section of the resort. That would have been okay if it was fast. With lots of kids in the facility for the hockey tournament, it was faster to take the stairs.

Review 59:Location, close to everything.

Review 60:Right in the heart of Parksville, and conveniently on the beach. Restaurant in the hotel was wonderful. Pool & Hot Tub area were well kept with GREAT views.

Review 61:There was no microwave in the room. When we asked the front desk, we were told the hotel was too full and they had run out. Also we stayed two nights and there was no houseleeping service. Again when we asked we were told the hotel was too busy and the staff were running behind. They never made it to our room. Only two towels were providedin the bathroom to start with . We had three small children with us. Extra towels were dropped off when we asked. But it was a slight inconvenience for sure.

Review 62:The decor was up to date and contemporary. We stayed in a room with an ocean view and it was more than we had anticipated. The full length windows on two corner adjoining walls made for a spectacular view of the ocean and boardwalk. We also enjoyed the clean and fairly large pool and bit tub. The pool had a clean bathroom with plenty of towels and a shower stall and toilets.

Review 63:Very nice facility. Wonderful rooms, comfortable beds. Used the spa services which was conveniently attached to the resort. The kitchen was not used but was stocked with everything you would need. It is located just off the beach and the grounds were well maintained. Would stay again.

Review 64:We didn't like that we had to leave, we wished we could have stayed much longer.

Review 65:Our stay was amazing, everyone is very friendly, and the room and views are breath taking. We really enjoyed our stay, we will be going there again

Review 66:Taking the elevAtor from garage on arriving, elevator door opened and we were greeted with a bag of rags/ garbage and mostly used toilet paper roll. Not the best 1st impression, likely fell off housekeeping cart

Review 67:The pool and hot tub, the view, the cucumber soap and green initiatives, the tea and coffee options in room

Review 68:That I was unable to stay longer !

Review 69:Location at the beachfront, easy walk around town and the very best of service from the staff..no disappointments here!

Review 70:The only negative is that Parksville has very little to offer as a resort, and it's like they built this great hotel and are now waiting for the rest of the area to catch up with providing everything else needed for tourism. So don't expect to be able to get a drink or meal apart from in the hotel. But if you're looking for a lovely relaxing hotel then this is it.

Review 71:We stayed here for a week in September as part of our honeymoon. The beach front suite we had was amazing, really spacious and high quality. Even more amazing was how cheap it was to stay here, at about £100 per night, for a whole suite! The hotel is very clean and couldn't be any closer to the beach, which has lovely shallow water for quite a distance out so there are great sandbanks to have fun on. There's a great Crazy Golf place (Paradise Island) just a 5 minute walk away too.

Review 72:This is a terrific hotel. Our suite was on the first floor and we walked right out onto the boardwalk. It was a quiet room which suited us well. We'd stay again in a heartbeat!

Review 73:Parksville is a retirement spot, so there's is nothing much to do there.

Review 74:Great view of beach Very spacious suite Comfortable bed, great night's sleep Free parking facility

Review 75:The restaurant was terrible and the main road running at the back of the hotel was noisy.

Review 76:The beach location and the cleanliness of the rooms and hotel. It looked like the best hotel in parksville by far. Only book a room with a sea view.

Review 77:Unfortunately there was a problem with my families dinner being very slow and then unsatisfactory when it arrived. The bill was adjusted but it caused some tension.

Review 78:I loved that things were accessible to the beach. It is well planned out.

Review 79:Could use some more handicapped parking.

Review 80:My father is handicapped and it was all very accessible. I've stayed in many nice hotels, but the staff here really made our visit exceptional! Everyone from the front desk to the maid service were all extremely friendly and helpful. Kudos to Marcy at the front desk a truly wonderful person who did everything to make our stay awesome! Thankyou!

Review 81:Younger front desk staff initially quite snitty, then we got experienced person and great service. Patio furniture not properly cleaned, kitchen floor "sticky".. BCR seems to have recently cheaped-out on supplies.....1-ply Kleenex and bathroom tissue, like I would expect in a 1-star roadside motel....really degrades the otherwise luxury environment.

Review 82:Location, as always Quality of furnishings, amenities are all first class

Review 83:The only thing we truly missed was a barbeque. Televisions were very small but we didn't spend that much time watching.

Review 84:The location was excellent. Beautiful beach and boardwalk with other amenities in close proximity including a large playground and water park for kids. Great place for all ages. We will consider bringing our children and grandchildren in the future for a joint holiday.

Review 85:- For 300 dollars a night for a Studio Suite we were expecting to at least have a small kitchen, but there is just a bar fridge a kettle and a coffee maker. No microwave, no plates, forks and knives. The room is very small. - The check in at 4 pm is extremely late. We asked for an early check in and we got our keys at 3:50.

Review 86:I choose this hotel as it had air conditioning and all of us cannot sleep on hot days without it being cool. AC had to be repaired and a small fan brought to the room. Room did not cool down until early morning. No consideration of this was offered in the room rate.

Review 87:Location, room - great. Have stayed here before and enjoyed it.

Review 88:Wifi was very spotty; strong one minute and non-existent the next. For breakfast and lunch the restaurant was pricey and the food a little fancy if you just wanted a quick bite. Kitchen was very slow which is fine for a leisurely dinner but not for breakfast and lunch.

Review 89:Suite Décor was great. Views were spectacular. Friendly staff. Dinners in the restaurant were fantastic. Very clean.

Review 90:Running out of towels 2 days in a row and inconsistent housekeeping.

Review 91:Loved the location and the general vibe of this hotel. The hotel is Beach front with great views of the surrounding bay (if you are on a higher floor)

Review 92:I guess the only thing would be is if they could get families with children in a different area of the hotel, nothing against young 1's but it might have been a little quieter that's all.

Review 93:1'st time staying, have always gone camping here growing up so it was a change but a very relaxing 1, great location and nice people working there..will defiantly make a visit again..cheers

Review 94:Having only 1 elevator in the East tower was a tiny issue for us. The elevator broke down the morning we were checking out.

Review 95:The room exceeded our expectations. The staff is amazing. We will be back one day soon.

Review 96:I booked for rooms that says "oceanside view"...I never had a glimpse of the said ocean. We weren't able to use the pool, apparently, under maintenance! The oceanside were not maintained well.

Review 97:The tower needs more than one elevator. 10 mins minimum waiting time to catch a ride.

Review 98:Great location and facilities. The food at the restaurant was great too.

Review 99:The west wing elevator was having problems and rather than taking a chance on getting stuck, we walked up and down four flights of stairs. This was the start of our get fit program.

Review 100:The staff were friendly, the room was very nice with a great view of the ocean from the balcony. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine in the evening, looking out over the beach action.

Review 101:If you're looking for a great resort spa, I would not recommend. The spa at this resort was mediocre at best.

Review 102:Beautiful view from this oceanfront suite! Comfortable furnishings/beds, nice kitchen. Spacious living area with fireplace, nice patio/deck. A great place to hangout even in poor weather!

Review 103:Service was slow and the food was mediocre at best.

Review 104:The location and views were wonderful.

Review 105:Staff were too busy to put on a smile.

Review 106:So comfortable that we had to force ourselves to go out; lovely suite; spectacular views; peaceful and quiet.

Review 107:Sheets didn't fit properly and kept coming off the bed

Review 108:Location, cleanliness, large suite

Review 109:Did not.

Review 110:Courteous staff Perfect location. Great facilities. Will stay at this location again.

Review 111:No easy access to buy food if not eating in hotel-other than using car.

Review 112:Lovely clean studio with good facilities and lovely view of ocean.

Review 113:Poor value regarding room amenities. @ $189.00 per night no robes, average soap and creams.clean, comfortable

Review 114:Clean,quiet great location.

Review 115:Beautiful view of the beach and a very comfortable room. Also restaurant was good.

Review 116:The look of the two towers from the beach

Review 117:The room was small but adequate. The staff was courteous and well informed

Review 118:BATHROOM WAS ON THE SMALL SIDE

Review 119:ROOM WAS EXCELLENT AND VERY QUIET

Review 120:Wish you had room service late at night.

Review 121:Pretty, but pricey.

Review 122:Beautiful location, gorgeous view, nice balcony.

Review 123:The pillows weren't that great

Review 124:Rooms are quiete small, in particolar the bathroom

Review 125:Fantastic position on the Beach. New building and good forniture.

Review 126:The adult hour in the pool was not controlled. Or respected

Review 127:Location. Right on the boardwalk with view of pacific tides

Review 128:No tip, no service!

Review 129:Overpriced and poor amenities.

Review 130:Proximity to beach and location was good.
