Reviews for The Chedi Andermatt

Review 1:Being 'upgraded' to a room in a distant building rather than the main hotel. A few hiccups with waiters forgetting orders or taking 20mins to pour a beer. The inclusive breakfast was superb, but lunch and dinner in the restaurant were average and daringly overpriced. All minor flaws, but given the price (double rates for NY period) customers are entitled to expect everything to be flawless.

Review 2:Fantastic facilities - indoor and outdoor pools, saunas and steam rooms, ski hire in the hotel, log fires and couches everywhere. Room was huge and very comfy. Really easy to get to the ski lifts with transfer bus. Everyone working there was friendly and accommodating. Excellent fireworks for NYE

Review 3:A wonderful property where the Asian touch meets the Swiss Alps. The architecture is superb and so is the service. Do not miss the open air pool as well as the SPA. We did not take any treatments but enjoyed the steam bath, sauna and the warm pool. If you have some extra cash at hand you may wish to look into purchasing an apartment here: starting price around 2.2 mln SFr for a one bedroom ;-)

Review 4:Parking was additional, which for the price we paid was very poor. Breakfast wasn't as good as I thought it would be.

Review 5:Excellent hotel, very good staff. Room service food was excellent, if a little pricey!

Review 6:The bed is too soft. The temperature of water is hard to control while taking a shower.

Review 7:The location is very close to the train station. Great interior design in the hotel and room. There are so many choices of breakfast.

Review 8:Too large to feel 'comfortable'-wash room and toilet badly situated.

Review 9:Large comfortable room, comfortable other rtooms such as dining room, bars, etc

Review 10:Unlike the Chedi Club in Tanah Gajah (Ubud, Bali, Indonesia), this Chedi did not have an free alcohol drinks.

Review 11:Staff, breakfast, hydrothermic baths, architecture, location

Review 12:The deluxe rooms are spacious and luxurious as is the entire hotel! The friendliness of all the staff and the Japanese restaurant made for an unforgettable stay...

Review 13:Hotel is geared for Orientals - even down to the two restaurants (one Japanese and one Malay/Thai/Chinese) we went to Switzerland to eat Swiss cuisine - we can get all these restaurants where we live in the UK. We were told by a manager that is what other nationalities want to experience. Our room was geared for the Japanese market down to a coffee table with cushions to eat food sitting on the floor. We also complained that an expensive hotel should provide a bidet in the bathroom.

Review 14:Very efficient Hotel and helpful staff but that is the very high price one has to pay to stay at The Chedi.

Review 15:The coffee in the room wasn't re-filled and the ashtrays outside are a bit of a paid... But that's complaining on a very high level! :-)

Review 16:Most comfortable bed in the world! Fantastic staff who welcomed us just perfectly! Cannot wait to go back!

Review 17:The Price of all the extras. The communal atmosphere needs improving ,we felt the Bar was too remote it needed to be part of the main attraction.

Review 18:The Chedi is monumental, the Space and the attention to detail are like no other place we have visited. It is one of those places that stays with you forever.

Review 19:We couldn't smoke a cigarette in the fumoir, only cigars ! Hotel did not take our reservation after 8 o'clock p.m. They ask us to call back the day after in the morning.

Review 20:The room was fantastic, very nice spa, good service and friendly staff.

Review 21:access may be awkward especially at times when the Gotthard Tunnel is especially busy as the traffic can back up and make access from the north difficult. This is a small price to pay for the lovely relaxing isolation when you arrive.

Review 22:Staff were outstanding in their unobtrusive attentiveness. The hotel public areas, the rooms and the dining facilities are all truly luxurious. It is expensive but felt worth it!

Review 56:Very good service and friendly staffs.

Review 57:Limited food options within the hotel & overpriced with kids

Review 58:Excellent concierge service

Review 59:For being in a skiing area, the service for the skiers was not good enough - ski passes not ready in the morning, skis not accessible when we wanted them. The breakfast service was not really ready either early in the morning

Review 60:The atmosphere in the hotel is great, the wellness area is impressive, diner and diner service were excellent, the room was very stylish and at the same time very practical

Review 61:The service was a disaster. We had to wait for the room even though the check in time was long before. it was clear that the hotel had been open fir a vrry short time and it was not fully operating (i.e. outdoor swimming pool) but the worst was our dinner at the resraurant. It is a shame. It's like having a Ferrari with a fist 500 engine. I really hope the service will improve over the next months so that it could be a real 5 star hotel
