Reviews for The Glenerin Inn

Review 1:There was some sort of miscommunication with regard to our check out and it was very upsetting how ever, the hotel manager applologized promptly and compt us our food for the stay, which we felt was fair. That being said I would most definitely stay again.

Review 2:The spa was outstanding, above and beyond and the attention to detail was A+. We also ordered room service which was very good as that had gluten free options and they service was prompt. Our bed was also very comfortable and the linens were above par.

Review 3:The hotel is in need of an upgrade. It feels worn and old fashioned. The room had a funky smell (almost musty like) and the angle of the ceilings made it feel small. The furniture is old fashioned. Definitely not worth the money.

Review 4:Good location

Review 5:rooms very tiny .bed pillows uncomfortable booked rooms for a family function ...next door retirement home 90th birthday .. finding way cheaper going direct booking hotel .. won't give us the discount even though family members all stayed there... no hot water in the room in the morning ..

Review 6:.

Review 7:Very small bedroom with NO desk or writing surface. Entrance from road poorly lit and poorly sign posted; I had driven after dark and easily passed by it because of the poor lighting. Entrance to lobby from outside not clear. Buffet breakfast with limited choices overpriced at $18.00.

Review 8:Comfortable bed with great duvet and pillows. Very clean. Good location for what I needed.

Review 9:I hit my head a couple of times on the sloped ceiling

Review 10:Loved the single bed room, very cozy. Loved the outdoor patio and I liked the room the wedding was held in

Review 11:There was a wedding and staff seemed to be catering to the wedding only tried to get a drink on patio and no staff was available they didn't cater to the actial hotel guests that were staying there

Review 12:The room and hotel very beautiful

Review 13:The mid-priced wines on the list are overly expensive.

Review 14:Overall our 2 night stay was excellent. We were 3 business colleagues and had three rooms, all of which were very comfortable - although each of my colleagues had issues with their air conditioning. On the second evening walked to the Piatto Bistro (very close), which was superb.

Review 15:Not a bad experience. The room was a little on the small side, and I was hoping for something a tad bit bigger. A desk would have been helpful.

Review 16:Beautiful location, and the facility is well kept. Everything was clean, and the room was very comfortable.

Review 17:WiFi speed was not consistent and internet access failed quite often.

Review 18:Location was good for our needs. We had a car and enjoyed driving around green and well maintained neighborhood. We also liked to be close to highways and west from downtown. It helped when travelling to Niagara Falls, Hamilton and Barrie. Else, staff is excellent and helpful.

Review 19:Norman on the front desk was incredibly helpful and professional/ Camahl (not sure of the spelling) also on front desk was very friendly and willing to help. Amela our waitress was a truly lovely person, who ensured we felt very special whilst enjoying our romantic dinner. You three made our visit to Mississauga very special xxx Thank You - Chris and Peter

Review 20:Stayed here as part of our 25th anniversary tour of Canda and they staff not only upgraded us to a suite (for a nominal fee) but also had a nice surprise waiting for my wife in the suite. Recommended.

Review 21:The breakfast was terrible; horrible scrambled eggs, wax paper that would not come off the muffins, and the bacon was really greasy.

Review 22:Beautiful room, great shower, and the staff was very nice.

Review 23:Really tiny place for the gym really old exercises machine! Come on guys it doesn't take to much money to buy good equipment. Really nice terrace but when it's cold have nothing like heater to make people comfortable! They call that spa but they do not have thermal bats outside and just a tiny sauna inside!

Review 24:Like the location and the charming building built in 1927... But I was staying on second floor in room 218 and they should do some renovation!

Review 25:The shower was scary. The water temperature changed quickly from cool to scalding.

Review 26:The Inn is beautiful and the food is excellent. It was very relaxing, kind of off the beaten track but very accessible. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Review 27:Wi iFi was a bit difficult to connect too

Review 28:Very Quiet. Lovely ambience. Such a nice change from chain motels. Very unique. Excellent service and courteous staff. Wonderful place for a solo business traveller or for an intimate weekend getaway

Review 29:-Black mould on tiles in bathroom, -Breakfast food cold, overcooked and not replenished -Difficult to locate (lack of signs)

Review 30:-Beautiful setting -Beautiful buildings, -Helpful, pleasant staff, -Food served on china, not plastic.

Review 31:We were told we had been upgraded 'free of charge', however the room was very small - compact and bijou in realtors terms...!

Review 32:Location worked very well for our needs - close to family

Review 33:Customer Service: lack of knowledge about booking.com, how they charge credit cards at the time of reservation, and not booking.com. This could be a one-off, but the person I dealt with had very poor customer service skills and a lack of knowledge of what she was doing. In the end I was correct and the Inn had charged my credit card at the time of reservation. I was told to call booking.com or VISA to find out who made the charge when it was them all along. Waste of my time and super frustrating experience. You only have one chance at a first impression and they blew it for me, lost credibility.

Review 34:The suite I booked was very spacious.

Review 35:Well, there was no cable and no pre advice that there was no cable. TV, etc . were unplugged on arrival. No coffee maker. Very small room. Outside air conditioned cause a lot of noise and vibration. Basically, will not return. Cable never did return in the a.m.

Review 36:Would have been awesome if there was a pool on site and I noticed cable on tv was a bit messed up , but otherwise it was good. wished breakfast was cheaper. lol We all went out for breakfast instead.

Review 37:Loved the asetting band all the character of the Inn.. Something different from typical hotels. Also I was in the Carriage house upstairs and thought it was great.

Review 38:Front desk gentlemen was apologetic. I appreciated his willingness to accommodate/help.

Review 39:The suite we had looked nothing like the one on the website. There were burned-out lights in the bathroom, a broken door knob and in order to get to the room we had to walk through an area that was being used for a wedding, so it just felt like we were in the way. Room service took about 40minutes and was almost $60 for a burger, fries and some chicken strips. We could hear the music pounding from the wedding all night. Room and food were not worth the money.

Review 40:The front desk employee was excellent. Very kind and polite. A beautiful building and easy to park.

Review 41:We had a fairly long booking for 5 nights. Weekdays were peaceful and quiet. However, our stay overlapped with a wedding that was booked for a Friday night. Although the management knew that we were staying in a room right above the wedding reception and directly over the DJ and his amplifier equipment, they made no effort to contact us to make alternate arrangements for our comfort. On our insistence we were given another room to sleep in at about 11 pm, but we were still kept awake by party guests until 2:20 am.

Review 42:The location of this beautiful property is fabulous. If your stay is during the week, go for it. The weekend, take your chances!

Review 43:Customer service very poor. We had a lot of luggage and offered no help

Review 44:Location and comfort of room, although a little small for a suite

Review 45:Very comfortable

Review 46:The staff are always lovely. The cleaning staff are excellent. They are always very quiet and respectful.

Review 47:the room and hallways need a bit of an upgrade -carpet is very old and smelly

Review 48:beautiful location

Review 49:Nice staff, great old place. Out of the way, which is its charm.

Review 50:No restaurant around

Review 51:The service.

Review 52:friendly, relaxed and comfortable accommodation

Review 53:No elevator for luggage

Review 54:Location, peaceful.

Review 55:Breakfast was excellent and proximity to visit our Mom is great

Review 56:Lack of room in the bathroom. Small room

Review 57:We liked the feel of the whole facility. The food was amazing!!

Review 58:Staff was friendly and very helpful

Review 59:The dinning room was excellant and service perfect

Review 60:Hotel is beautiful.

Review 61:The room was gorgeous and the bed was majestic

Review 62:Small rooms, bed was very uncomfortable

Review 63:Beautiful old property

Review 64:The bathhroom door would not fully close

Review 65:The staff were excellent!

Review 66:Not enough towel racks.

Review 67:Quiet oasis in the middle of the hustle and noise of Mississauga.

Review 68:No air conditioning in room... Damn hot

Review 69:Staying in a park-like setting within a city like Toronto is a huge plus. Access to lovely walking trails through ravines was a major plus.

Review 70:The surroundings. Lots of original architecture.

Review 71:Not a major issue but would have preferred firmer bed and pillows.

Review 72:Great staff and wonderful food at dining room.

Review 73:The coziness of the Inn

Review 74:small bathroom

Review 75:good value breakfast

Review 76:Creaky floor over a busy kitchen. Not so quiet.

Review 77:The pillow!

Review 78:staffs are very caring and not hesitate to show concern of my waiting at the check-in. the environment was so welcoming.

Review 79:in lobby to much noisy and walk walk way block.

Review 80:hospitality excellent

Review 81:Pleasant, helpful, welcoming staff and the lovely grounds

Review 82:Staff was very friendly. The building and room was outdated. A fresh coat of paint and updated fixtures would make this a go to destination.

Review 83:Room very small, musty smell. A/C was not cooling well. Bed creaked every time you move. Breakfast was at 8am, to late for us since we had to get to appointments. Lunch and dinners are reserved for the events booked at the Inn and not for the solo guest.

Review 84:Nice property on the outside.

Review 85:It would be more like what did we miss and my husband wished for a hot tub/and or warm pool. We are both tall people so the king bed was 2 inches shorter than we are used to.

Review 86:The staff was very caring and attentive to our needs. Norman saw that the room we had booked was their smallest room for a 4 night stay and we worked his magic to get us a larger, more comfortable room for a reduced rate.

Review 87:We were in Room 309. It seems the bathroom of the room next door was right beside our wall and the noise was way too loud--midnight and later.

Review 88:Everything went well and the staff were quite accommodating. The back outdoor patio overlooking the ravine was great.

Review 89:few spider webs in the washroom but hey that happens the mattress was caving in and hubby had trouble not falling out....we got cozy. :)

Review 90:Ambiance Charm Priced accordingly for what we rec'd

Review 91:Beds creaked, air conditioner did not work, floor creaked when people walked in the room upstairs, walls were so thin I could hear our neighbour snoring all night long!!!!!

Review 92:Not much

Review 93:Floors in room are so old that they make tremendous noise when you walk. The building was built in the 20s so it can't be perfect but the floors need major renovations. The windows, bathroom have been renovated which is great. I just hope floors are next... Still my favourite place in Mississauga.

Review 94:Great atmosphere. Very nice staff. Cozy rooms. Great location.

Review 95:My points here are not really about 'not liking' as much as they are gentle recommendations: 1. The room in which we stayed had a shower which blasted cold water a few times. I quickly turned warm again. We chose not to raise this because we figured it was something about the age of the building. 2. At the breakfast, we were a little unsure of how to proceed as we were told to find a table, but they all had used dishes from previous people. Also, the tea and coffee were in a separate area from the other parts of the breakfast - so we would recommend a little more direction/guidance/clarity. 3. Room cleaning took place at 3 (which we declined)...a tad earlier would have been good. These are not 'dislikes' but rather, they are recommendations. We would most definetly come again and check out other rooms, just for the experience.

Review 96:This was an amazing place. The inn has been nicely presented and beautifully furnished. And yet, it maintains a rustic feel to it. So, there are parts that are not 'as modern'. I suspect this has more to do with the age of the building than anything. We did not us ethe spa services, but just totally enjoyed our room. Quiet, large, just perfect. The location was excellent - near enough to shoppng, yet far enough to feel like it was a bit of an oasis. We were welcomed openly and warmly and generally felt like we could do what we wanted. Staff were friendly, polite, willing to serve, etc.

Review 97:I wasn't aware of how popular their dining experience is so I recommend to make your dining reservations in advance. The dining area was quite cold, considering it was freezing outside during our stay.

Review 98:The suite was very spacious, clean and comfortable. We had very much enjoyed our stay there. The staff were professional, polite and attentive to our needs. Their evening dining experience was great and very good value.

Review 99:I booked through booking.com but when we got there to check in theyno knowledge of my reservation. We were traveling from out of townand we were fortunate they had a room available or we would have beenout of luck.

Review 100:Great facility

Review 101:The carpeting was quite stained and really needs replacing as it gives a feeling of uncleanliness throughout. Location isn't convenient unless you are driving but to be fair - I knew that before booking.

Review 102:The staff were amazing. It was much more personal that staying at a huge hotel and the price was very fair.

Review 103:House keeping little weak. No refill of toilet tissue, facial tissue, bath/shampoo...etc.

Review 104:Like the location, envornment outside of inn, and the outlook of the inn.

Review 105:The building and rooms are not maintained to the standard that the price would suggest. Cobwebs in the stairways, a thick layer of dust on baseboards and washroom fixtures. Also, not to say all the staff are unpleasant, but when we were checking out, two cleaning staff were leaning against (and blocking) the reception desk. Rather than moving, or the receptionist asking them to, I had to perform my transaction from the side, reaching over the brochure displays. It was a small thing I guess, but I feel some courtesies should be common sense, for a guest or otherwise.

Review 106:It was a romantic setting for my fiance and I. The building has character and beautiful grounds, nice linens and fairly comfortable beds.

Review 107:No Elevator to second floot. Not disability friendly. Over flight path to airport. Not a big noise.

Review 108:Super time. Quaint with trees. Would stay again. 10- 10

Review 109:They did not have our reservation on the book.

Review 110:I liked Breet's attitude. She took care of us very well even thoughour reservation was not on the book.

Review 111:Room was freezing when I got there. Hotel lounge area was dead and lacked ambience as did the lobby. Perhaps music or something to liven the place up a little...it's a bit too quiet in the public spaces, felt abandoned.

Review 112:It's a beautiful building and the view of the forest behind was lovely. The bed was very comfy and it was very quiet which I liked. Staff were also attentive.

Review 113:The shower was awkwardly small over a very shallow tub.

Review 114:The beds are very comfortable. The staff are friendly and polite. The inn itself is really lovely.

Review 115:The only comment would be the carpet in the rooms need to be cleanedor changed.

Review 116:We loved the staff. The décor in the room was very nice, cozy. The bedwas amazing. Best comfort we ever found in Mississauga. Spacious, veryelegant décor. Classy.

Review 117:The room was very musky The heater wouldn't shut off- it was far too hot in the room even with the window open. The ceiling fan made too much noise to keep on over night. Bugs in the room (2 large ants and a spider)

Review 118:The atmosphere was rustic and cottage-like, very comforting. The staff was very friendly

Review 119:Countryside in the city. Close to where I was going (U of T - Missisauga). Trees, birds out my window. No nearby highways. Good sleep. Wallpaper. Wood. Breakfast. Great beds. Carried my suitcase for me. Kind and helpful person on desk.

Review 120:Bathroom was older / tired. The whirlpool tub was older and seemed to have a small crack in the bottom. There was mould around the jets so I was reluctant to use it. I would suggest that they put a new tub in rm 207.

Review 121:The bed was the most comfortable that I've ever slept in! The bedding was clean and high quality.

Review 122:Raccoons were noisy at night

Review 123:Comfortable pillow top beds, helpful staff, perfect amenities for a business traveller, great food, easily accessible location close to restaurants, shopping and freeways

Review 124:All prices are excluding TAX. Be aware of that when you book.

Review 125:Extremely quit place with a very good restaurant

Review 126:Our room was VERY tiny. I am a tall person and having the slanted ceiling by the bed was a bit dangerous.

Review 127:Slowness in getting into restaurant for supper and slowness in getting breakfast. That being said however the food was delicious.

Review 128:I loved the spa!!
