The idyllically located Wasenalp is 1.2 miles above the Simplon Pass Road, which is also safe to travel in winter, and is far away from the hustle and bustle.
In summer it is located in the Simplon Pass hiking area, and in winter it is right next to the slopes of the small Rothwald/Wasenalp ski area. This mountain inn is the ideal base for all winter activities, including snowshoe hiking, ski touring and deep snow skiing.

Review 1：The location is remote but spectacular. If you're looking to be close to services, this may not be the place for you. We were looking for a very dark sky at night for meteor showers, and got served!

Review 4：I thought I had booked a Hotel... it was a Hostel. Huge difference, perhaps I should have read the details more and I may have found it. Staff was nice and the place was very nice, but teh rooms and shared bathrooms (two floors down) were no fun. Put that with a screaming baby , not the hotels fault) and it was not as comfortable as it should have been for the cost.

Review 7：very friendly staff, very clean comfy rooms and shower rooms (not ensuite but that didn't matter - immaculate) Breathtaking views in gorgeous sunshine. Dinner was excellent, swiss dishes such as grilled pork and apricot sorbet with schnapps! dont miss the swiss potato and cheese soup! The mountain road up isn't a problem in summer at all. Wasenalp is signposted off the main road then again half up the mountain - look up to see the b and b in the distance! One tiny thing to be aware off - the kitchen closes if there is no demand and we nearly missed food on second night returning at 9pm. It's not a negative at all - just communicate with the hosts what time you think you may eat. we will definitely go back to Wasenalp
Review 8：The hotel did not honour a valid booking.com reservation claiming that they were full, and offered us an overpriced dorm as an alternative. Lesson: don't depend on booking.com confirmation; call the property before you go there.
