Reviews for Hotel Roc de St Miquel

Review 1:Wifi signal not great/stable in our particular room

Review 2:Very nice staff, great to have the shuttle to the ski facilities; great location - just 10 min walking away from the center of Soldeu, very quiet; nice cosy bar and restaurant; rich breakfast; great value for money

Review 3:Nothing bad, really. Only a small suggestions about bedsheets and towels. It would be nice to have a second towel for the face. And regarding bedsheets, they r quiet old.

Review 4:Great location and friendly staff. Rooms are clean and very warm. Shower worked perfectly, great water pressure. Hotel is very close to ski resorts and offer a free transfer to the slopes every morning. Breakfast is very good for the price, we never left hungry.

Review 5:None

Review 6:Friendliness and welcome of staff, relaxed atmosphere, knowledgeable people who know their region and provide excellent sporting opportunities.,proximity to the mountain environment.

Review 7:It is a stiff old walk up to the centre of town if you're not fit.

Review 8:A room, a bed, breakfast, three course dinner and a lift to the ski centre all for £40 a night - what's not to like. Lovely people, great bar and restaurant area, with simple rooms and simple food.

Review 9:Car parking is in the lane down to the hotel, which is not available after a heavy snow fall, until the snow clearers have been.

Review 10:The hotel is small - more like a chalet. The staff are very friendly and helpful - nice people. It is in a quiet location. They give their guests a ride up to the ski lift in the morning. The free Wifi is available in the rooms, not just some Wifi zone as in some hotels.

Review 11:The room was stayed in was very small and cramped. The decor in our room was similar to a public toilet and there was an unpleasant odour in the room that we couldn't get rid of. The shower was about to fall off the wall. The free Wi-Fi had poor reception in areas and was very, very slow.

Review 12:The owners of the hotel are lovely and really helpful. The food included with half board was excellent for the price, and the communal area downstairs is large and inviting. Our friends' room on the top floor was small but very nice - exposed beams with wooden paneled walls.

Review 13:Nothing

Review 14:Friendly staff always looking to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, tasty and plentiful wholesome food. Comfortable rooms and relaxing bar.

Review 15:Wifi was intermittent at times and reception wasn't great in the top floor rooms.

Review 16:Good location about 10 minutes walk to the gondola. There is a shuttle bus in the mornings. The hosts were great and couldn't do enough for me. The room was clean and nice and warm. The half board option is great value and is very satisfying after a long day on the slopes.

Review 17:At the room rate offered, with dinner, there's nothing not to like. We shall be paying out third visit in 12 months in eight weeks time.

Review 18:The proprietors 'make' Roc de St Michel, of that there's no doubt. Nuria is utterly charming, and Nick is helpful, attentive and efficient inside the hotel and an accomplished ski and board instructor on the slopes. Laura cooks great 'home-cooking' and plenty of it, whilst Bruno cleans the rooms and pays attention to details like towel presentations folded into swans, or jackets, (very inventive). Faultless staff.

Review 19:I didn't like that when there were more than a couple of guests using WiFi, no one else could use it - which is a pretty minor dislike.

Review 20:I liked the fact that the hotel was a 15 minute walk from the ski lift but that Nick and Nuria ran a shuttle to it if required. The atmosphere was friendly and one felt very welcome and our hosts went out of the way to help. The bedrooms while compact had en suite facilities and were very clean. The food while not corden bleu was extremely tasty and there was plenty of it with a "special" starter and main provided each night. I liked that WiFi was provided.

Review 21:Nothing comes to mind. WiFi not great in the evenings but I guess this might be a limitation in the resort. Access to the lounge area during the day would be useful.

Review 22:Great value for a property close to the Ski lifts. The hosts were very welcoming and had excellent knowledge of the resort. Good food (Half Board) and great Bar. Option of transport to the Ski-Lift in the morning. Rooms very comfortable for a 2* Hotel.

Review 23:Warm and accommodating staff, morning shuttle service, very clean room

Review 24:Cracking little hotel. Clean, great food, excellent staff. Free lift up to the gondola station.

Review 25:Excellent hosts in Nuria and Nick . Great food ,

Review 26:Food was excellent. Staff were very helpful.

Review 27:Nothing. No bad points as far as I am concerned.

Review 28:Nick and his staff very friendly and helpful. Food best ever had on ski holiday

Review 29:If anything Intermittent wifi

Review 30:Chalet atmosphere with good food and lots of it , good place for families

Review 31:Walls a little thin so you can hear other guests.

Review 32:The bar was a relaxed place to sit, have a drink and make friends at the end of the day.

Review 33:staff dogs cleanliness food

Review 34:Not much hot water, other guests were noisy and inconsiderate

Review 35:Great location, friendly staff

Review 36:The only thing we didn't like was the poor internet connection. It was very unreliable and slow during a time the hotel was fully booked. Seemed like a 1Mbps ADSL line shared with more than two dozen of users and when some of them were downloading from torrents.. so totally unusable for the rest of us :(

Review 37:Really liked the relaxed mood of this hotel, the staff and especially the dog :) The room was no luxury but a basic clean experience, just like we wanted. And there's a nice bar downstairs to spend time playing games or/and having a beer etc.

Review 38:Bar usually closes at 11pm - but I suppose that did save me money!

Review 39:It is exactly what it says. Clean, value for money accommodation sufficiently close to the lifts and village.

Review 40:Room didnt match photos on here Decor was tired in single room Nowhere to wait after check out

Review 41:Cheap Price for Soldeu WiFi in room although very slow

Review 42:Beds were a tad too firm for my personal preference, but hey ! It's no deal-breaker.

Review 43:Friendliness. Hospitality. Small size and limited number of guests meant personal attention was paramount. Value for money was absolutely excellent. We will be going back soon.

Review 44:The personnel of the hotel was kind and helpful. The room was cozy and comfortable, in my opinión better than some 3 star hotels where I have been.

Review 45:Staff were absolutely fantastic. Very welcoming and acommodating. the food was fantastic and compared to going out in the rest of the town incredibly well priced. We will definitely be going back to stay here next year.

Review 46:There's not much to dislike. Being really picky - was in an attic room that took me a day or so to get used to and the wi-fi could be a little slow at busy times.

Review 47:Second stay here after first time last year - and was just as good as I remembered it. Lovely food, clean room and helpful staff. Good location for an excellent ski trip.

Review 48:Going home :(

Review 49:Loved this place so much and will return! Excellent value for money; lovely clean rooms; very friendly staff; free WiFi; not too far from the Gondola (about 7mins walk but they give you a lift in the morning); good quality continental breakfast for only 6 Euros (5 if you go B&B); nice bar with a football table, games, sofas and cheap drinks. Definitely go on Paul's guided ski tour (50 euro per group) - it was the best day of skiing we had and got to explore the whole resort without the worry of getting lost/accidentally finding yourself at the top of a black with no alternative (he adjusts to your level, as extreme/not as your would like, although you do have to be at least an intermediate to go). Great recommendations from the staff as to where to eat and drink (we didn't get round to eating in their restaurant, they have a very limited service so you have to let them know you are eating the night before - our lack of organisation got in the way there! I'm sure the food is lovely though!) Loved Andorra, Grandvalira and THE ROC! (and Bolt the very friendly dog!)

Review 50:Pretty much nothing not to like!

Review 51:Really amazing place! The staff are so welcoming and they've got everything planned out to make your stay hassle free and comfortable! Lifts straight to the gondola, great breakfasts, games, the works! They couldn't have done anything else to make our stay great. Have stayed twice now. Wherever else you are thinking of staying for skiing - don't. Stay here! Recommend travelling from Barcelona by bus and stay here for the best ski break for any group!

Review 52:A litle bit too far from the Telecabina to be able to walk with boots and skis.

Review 53:Easy to park the car. Very basic but clean. Coffee and water cooker in the room. Good heating. Good value for the money.

Review 54:Reception - Localization: Down stairs Shower

Review 55:Best Price/Quality The owner is very nice and friendly. I feel being in family The Dinner is also good

Review 56:Wifi is free but very slow. Check-in was a bit haphazard, we arrived at 3pm to be told the owner was out and would not be back until 5pm (suggest to arrange a check-in time with owner in advance). Couldn't find a power point to charge iPhone in the room we were given.

Review 57:Friendly staff. Good location. The room was quiet.

Review 58:The only constructive comments I have were: A) we are light sleepers and you could hear people in the room above us - they woke us at 04:30 one morning when they were walking around their room. B) our bed was too soft compared to what we are used to & this didnt help us. PS we did not complain about it to the hotel staff as we were only staying for 3 nights & the hotel were good to us.

Review 59:We stayed 3 nights half board & the Hotel went out of their way to accommodate the type of food my wife likes. The food was good. Hotel atmosphere was family like with friendly staff. It was very clean & the rooms cleaned each day. It was in a nice quiet location & only a 10 minute walk to the Telecabin.

Review 60:Fantastic staff, comfy and causy bar, excellent wifi in rooms and lobby, Enough place for skis and snowboards. Overall, great place for a cheerful company of skiers/boarders.

Review 61:Leaving..........

Review 62:The hotel has charm and character, with friendly staff,- delicious food and a hot bath after a day on the slopes- a perfect base for skiing in Soldeu.

Review 63:Despite reservation of two weeks in advance and specific request, no double bed was available breakfast was not diverse

Review 64:all staff (except owner) were very friendly and helpful

Review 65:If you are young and fit, then the walk to the village centre/gondola is about 8 to10 mins. If you are a bit old and decrepit like me then it will take you 20 mins as it is all uphill! Fortunately that means that it is all downhill coming back to the hotel!!

Review 66:Owners and staff very helpful and friendly. Lovely views. Hotel very clean and quiet. Lots of hot water, rooms always warm. Good breakfast. Nice informal bar with books and board games etc. Did not eat here so can not comment but it looked good!

Review 67:Nothing! Fantastic value for money!

Review 68:Great staff, friendly and helpful. Good breakfast, short walk to thegondola for skiing or they'll give you a lift. The room was basicbut a good size, lovely hot shower, and had a kettle in the room whichis not very common in Andorra.

Review 69:Staff were incredible. Room was a good size and had a good bathroom. The view from our room was amazing. Breakfast was fine. Had croissants which is always nice. Great place to stay.

Review 70:My loft room could have done with more light for the evenings.

Review 71:Solid and friendly no-fuss approach. Relaxed family-run hotel. Breakfast was simple but delicious (where can I get that bread?). 15 minute walk up to the ski lift, but the exercise helped wake me up (they also offer a lift in the mornings). Cheap and efficient laundry service. Plenty of storage for luggage and ski stuff.

Review 72:The heater was too high and I had difficulties to sleep

Review 73:The staff were really kind and it was really easy to check in even if arriving so late.

Review 74:furniture was a bit old

Review 75:basic but very comfortable room, value for money, friendly staff, good location

Review 76:Helpful staff, clean facilities. Transfer to the ski lift every day. Great well priced food

Review 77:Breakfast was very limited

Review 86:A bit far from ski lifts

Review 87:Good friendly people great food

Review 88:Great value hotel; room cleaned daily

Review 89:Nice clean and warm rooms. Great staff.

Review 90:Staff were friendly and helpful; great value; plenty of excellent food

Review 91:atmosphere

Review 92:Parking offered but had to dig out own space in the snow. Slippy floors in corridor to room

Review 93:Friendly staff & convenience for ski slopes

Review 94:Limited staff hours for bar and food.

Review 95:Very friendly and helpful staff, mixed with everyone. Really good breakfast
