Reviews for Delta Brunswick Hotel

Review 1:Need corkscrew & wine glasses in the room. Charge credit card if they go missing but guest can avoid the hassle of waiting and hoping for quick delivery:)

Review 2:Love the cleanliness and functionality of the pool area!

Review 3:The view of the river was great! The sitting area with 2 plush chairs was nice and oh the bed was so comfy!! Loved having a fridge in room, this is always so nice.

Review 4:The only complaint I really have is that the rooms are a little out of date.. Everything was super comfy and clean! I just felt for what I'm paying, I'd what a little more modern and upscale room.

Review 5:The staff were great! Very classy hotel! The location is right in the heart of uptown Saint John, so it's absolutely perfect! Everything is in walking distance and there is always so much going on!

Review 6:There was nothing we disliked in this experience!

Review 7:Spacious room with a great view, clean, located in the heart of downtown and a great value for the price. The on-site restaurant was wonderful.

Review 8:Initial room given was facing office blocks and in the shade, requested for ocean view later – ocean view is sunny and brighter. Staff was average. Microwave available but no kettle.

Review 9:Stayed for 9 days. Great value for money especially if you book on the hotel website where you can get 10% discount if booked 2 weeks in advance. Comfortable beds, free wi-fi. Great to have laundry but only 1 washer and 1 dryer available. Nearby to food area. Right at town center and near the visitor’s center. Went to eat seafood at both Steamers and Lobsters Co. and Billy’s. The former was more rustic pub-style with larger quantity of food for cheaper prices and you can sit outside to see the sea or cruise-ships moored. The latter was more formal and fine-dining-like.

Review 10:Staff

Review 11:The room was very dusty and it's too bad because we love staying there I took a face cloth and I dusted it were it was dirty and brought it downstairs to show the front desk it was bad

Review 12:No bad experience at all

Review 13:The staff at The front desk was extremely friendly & helpful. Always very pleasant wether first thing in the morning or late evening Excellent

Review 14:Everything - we had a lovely room and enjoyed our stay very much. We will definitely be back! Also, Maurena at the front desk was one of the nicest and most helpful people of any place we have ever stayed.

Review 15:Our room was stinky and the cable/cords ran under the carpet! It's an aging hotel and the website pictures are not reflective ofan average room.

Review 16:We asked for quiet room street noise was loud until 3:00am, I had to contact wifi support which I had to use my cell phone did get on-line but signal as so poor after a few hours I gave up and used my data plan on my phone. Tablet worked fine the night before at a different Inn, and next day on-board our ferry so I don't think the tablet was the issue. Even my phone couldn't hold a signal in the room. Didn't like the idea that we couldn't park our motorcycle next to the entrance without paying an additional $11.00 for valet service and they don't touch motorcycles. As far as places to eat downtown Saint John I guess is for tourist example fish and chips which we usually buy at $8.99 to 12.99 we could only find $16.99 upto $22.99

Review 17:Room was clean, bed was comfortable

Review 18:Would have liked free parking or atleast a reduced rate.

Review 19:Loved the location of the hotel. Being able to park the car and walk everywhere downtown was excellent.

Review 20:At the time of booking I was not told about the requirement to pay alarge deposit if I wasn't using a credit card. It did cause someconfusion which stressed me even though we were able to work it out.IDidn't like the stress on my 25th wedding anniversary. I hadinformed them of how I would be paying so this was not a surprise tothem but the large deposit was a big surprise to me. Because we werecelebrating a special day I decided to let it go so the day would not bespoiled. Although I would have appreciated knowing ahead of time aboutthe deposit. I was informed that this was policy on all hotels but laterthat week we had a similar payment and there was no stress because theydid not require the large deposit at that hotel. The view sucked. Payingextra for parking bothered me too.

Review 21:I liked the location. I found the chairs were really comfortable as Idon't find sitting on a bed to watch tv or have a drink iscomfortable but the chairs were great. I am short and appreciated thesmaller cushion which was a good size to place behind my back.

Review 22:the barking dogs twice and 3 times every evening. The squeeking door next to our room dozens of times nightly. A dog St Bernard stepped out of the guest room and got my 7 y. o. daughter off guard.we had to go back to room and change her totally...underware as well...

Review 23:the location was great.. the gracious attention of ladies at the desk. the shopping mall is very well...

Review 24:So hot in the hallways!!! Our room was quite a distance from the elevator. Overlooked the large noisy AC units .... if the AC was off we could hear them running.

Review 25:Breakfast should be included; the breakfast restaurant opens late - should open earlier, giving the fact that many cafes in the surrounding open after 8:30 or even 10:00 am.

Review 26:Location is superb, staff and welcoming atmosphere is very pleasant

Review 27:No free breakfast. Had some problems with bathroom fixtures, reported same to staff they apologized.

Review 28:The hotel felt great just being in it. The bed was awesome I slept like a rock.

Review 29:Generally, the hotel looked tired from age and could use some upgrades of the carpets and bathroom. Our toilet had some stains. Can't comment on the breakfast as we didn't have one in the restaurant. Location didn't help the kerb appeal either.

Review 30:The room was a generous size and fitness center facilities great. New equipment and very nice.

Review 31:We had a cargo box on our car. Their parking garage is so low that our car won't fit. After circling back, we're told that we had to pay for valet and that was the only way. Self parking was free. Valet guy was awesome, but hotel should account for this. There were many cars with cargo boxes on top.

Review 32:Our view was a roof top(we requested to switch rooms) and our new room was not very well kept, the ceiling in the bathroom was cracked and chipping away, no water pressure at all in the shower and the alarm clock was from the 80's.

Review 33:We were only there for 1 night, staff was freindly

Review 34:Hiden marketing tax from the city. That is lame for tourism. Parking was not included and expensive in my opinion which is somewhat qualified given my travel experience. The harbour view was a view of the top floor of rhe parking garage. We could see a bit of water off one corner or the garage.

Review 35:Good hotel and good location.

Review 36:Over an hour wait for dinner one night. Kitchen was overwhelmed by large group of people dining and the staff was very apologetic. We were given our entire meal for free so were entirely satisfied by their care. Food was great

Review 37:Lovely Reno design, style in room and lobby. Beautiful property at side of St John river. Great outdoor swimming pool. Good restaurant

Review 38:Outdated furnishings in the room including the tv and bathroom. The room smelled of stale air. Doors in all the rooms slammed - there is no way to be courteous to other guests as the doors have no way of shutting but to slam them!

Review 39:Location is very convenient to restaurants, art galleries, boardwalk, and the Market.

Review 40:Parking fees at almost $16 a night were a bit high. The city also adds and extra tax to accommodation.

Review 41:You are able to access shopping and the famous Saint John City Market (not to be missed, even if it is only to eat at the restaurants connected to it), by means of a pedway. So there is no getting wet on a rainy day.

Review 42:Was surprised that parking was $15Canadian.

Review 43:I was given an upgrade room at no additional cost. Very friendly and helpful front desk and resturant staff. I will stay there again, if I come to St John again.

Review 44:The Delta is located in the historic part of Saint John. it is within walking distance of the city market and many shops and restaurants. It is connected to Brunswick Square. The hotel is lovely. the pool and fitness facilities are very good. I would definitely stay there again. I

Review 45:Room attendants didn't clean properly. Dusty room. Behind toilet very dirty. Never wiped. Toilet seat was held on by a puddy smoother. Had to ask on day 6 if I could have my sheets changed. And vacuumed. Microwave had dried on coffee spilt inside. Pool needs new ceiling tile very disgusting. Bathrooms in pool have paint peeling off. Need to update renos.

Review 46:Mix restaurant was good. It was the cleanest.

Review 47:Even though there was free WiFi, we couldn't seem to get our connections most of the time.

Review 48:Location was very central. Wasn't much to do other than see the activities at the waterfront, for July 1st.

Review 49:The rooms could use a little updating considering the price and I was unhappy to see animals staying in and roaming around the lobby of the hotel. Not all people enjoy sharing a hotel with dogs. That is just unsanitary in my opinion.

Review 50:Room was very quiet and so close to the uptown area. I did not have to leave the premises really which was great considering our timeline.

Review 51:Booked a queen room, received confirmation, only to be advised that no such room was available. After reminding staff repeatedly of my written confirmation, they found a missing room. Breakfast in the restaurant was substantually more costly than the room service price for the same item, unusual!!!!

Review 52:Good location,down town.

Review 53:Make sure you ask for a room with a view. We were assigned a room with a lovely view of the air conditioning ducts and brick walls. We asked to switch rooms and were thankfully accomodated.

Review 54:Location, comfortable room, close to most things.

Review 55:Not bad but you folks at Marriott have to get your act together on the Delta acquisition and (while it may not seem important) the retention of Delta members. The lack of recognition of Delta Priv. (and their points) members is going to be a problem for retention of business clients. I already know of many business colleagues who have switched to your 3 main competitors. For example when you're on the road on holidays and weekends and away from family it's nice to get points and not as a Delta member to get thrown under the bus with nothing offered for your patronage . Delta was a very strong Canadian business chain and you'll squander the acquisition if you jettison the Canadian business Delta members. Be smart.

Review 56:People. Could not be more helpful. A committed team.

Review 57:The fridge was not very cold. There was no water kettle for our formula.

Review 58:Location downtown is the selling point. Very convenient for shopping and going out. The staff was accommodating.

Review 59:Registration process was a bit frustrating. Staff seemed to be confused with details of our reservation made through Booking.com....although everything worked out in the end. Possibly we will make arrangements directly with Delta in the future.

Review 60:Beds appeared as if they were made in a hurry, blankets kind of lumpy ( looked like there as a body). room only had one chair.

Review 61:The staff was friendly and helpful, the lobby was beautiful.

Review 62:I always seem to book a room on weekends where there are tournaments and we are woken up in the middle of the night numerous times because of screaming kids/adults. The parking is a pain in the &*? to get to. It is really complicated to find the first time you get there.

Review 63:We always make reservation at this hotel as it has almost everything we need at our doorstep. Shopping center, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. downstairs. Pool, hot tub gym and parking at hotel. Nice that the pool is opened from 6am to 12am. Also we like that there is a microwave and mini fridge and coffee maker in the room. Pet friendly. Room are big and clean. Staff is super friendly.

Review 64:Bathrooms are very dated and although furniture is updated and comfortable, rooms in general could use renovation.

Review 65:Late arrival, tired, 8 hours of driving and another 6 the next day. New Year's Day night. Desk clerk Monica took initiative to get me parked & into a quiet room quickly. Hotel is easy to get to and close walk to local cafe's etc. Morning staff warmed up my car for me at time requested, a nice service. Great views of the water.

Review 66:No complaints - although we did have difficulty finding a bottle opener.

Review 67:Rooms are clean and comfortable. We had a great view. Hotel staff were very helpful. The hot tub was great!

Review 68:Complementary breakfast would be nice.

Review 69:Location is excellent as we were at the Harbour Station sports centre for the weekend which is attached via pedways.

Review 70:I really did not like the idea that the hotel informed me of their $15 parking charge only after I had checked in. For the price of Canadian hotels the parking should be included. I can rent a room across the border in upstate Maine for considerably less expense with breakfast included. The Canadian branches of the same hotels gouge the customers to the max for profits.

Review 71:I liked the comfort of the room and friendliness of the staff.

Review 72:The bath tub water would not shut off/light in bathroom did not work which may seem a small thing but it was dangerous adjusting water for a shower in the dark.We were billed for music which we didn't use and our being there seemed more like an inconvenience for the staff at the front desk.

Review 73:Location was great...didn't have to go outside in a snow storm to get to Harbour Station.Booking.com did a great job/all the information was entered into the system so check-in was easy!

Review 74:We look after a Lodge .Our facilities was so much better.!1I did not appreciate being woke up at between 2:30 and 4:00 am in the morning with screaming and slaming doors!!It's a sin I used to work there it was an awesome hotel !!Now I'd never stay there again!1Especially for the price. our stay was very unsatisfactory!!!!!

Review 75:The location

Review 76:The restaurant mix was a great experience the waitress had a great sense of humour the service was a little slow but worth the wait the food was amazing.

Review 77:the hotel has free parking on the weekend! it isn't indicated on the site but a great plus to know when you get there. so there's 20 dollars you don't have to worry about.

Review 78:The room was dated and there was an unpleasant odor.

Review 79:This hotel was in a great location near the Saint John harbour and many restaurants. We stayed for one night on our way to Nova Scotia. Our room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The hotel staff were lovely and helpful.

Review 80:The parking arrangement was a bit unusual, but with the additional instructions prepared and given, we had no problems moving from the lobby to the lot and to our room.

Review 81:Location, spacious room with a nice view, friendly staff. The decoration (clock radio) and the interia is a bit dated, but considering the price and everything else, it's of good value.

Review 82:Did not feel like I was in an hotel more like an addage to a shopping mall. Had to use pass card to get anywhere.Long distance walking to what is supposedly the hotel restaurant/bar.Long distance trek to parking. Was told on two occasions that I would get a morning newspaper, never got one.Generally the hotel facilities are dated, and the TV control system is positively archaic. The place needs a major makeover.

Review 83:Location

Review 84:Having to wait 15 minutes for our car to be delivered from a space where we could actually see it from where we were standing.. No reason given for the delay; and no time to go back in to reception to ask for an explanation...

Review 85:Relatively quick access to Ferry Terminal

Review 86:Lobby needs some welcoming furniture. Have to pay for parking

Review 87:The Staff went above and beyond to make us happy and help us. Excellent, customer focused, warm and caring people!!!

Review 88:The hotel and rooms are a bit run down. The bed and pillows are old and not very comfortable. Bathroom is outdated.

Review 89:Excellent location close to all major activities (city centre, market, restaurants, boardwalk, etc).

Review 90:The hotel staff seemed inexperienced and uninformed. I was doubled charged for valet parking and it took 20 minutes at the front desk to rectify the problem. When I arrived back at the hotel on Sunday night (at 10:10 pm) and inquired at the front desk whether the restaurant was open or not, I was told it closed at 10 pm. I then called room service and was informed the restaurant was open until midnight. Also, the concierge is hit and miss.

Review 91:The location of the hotel is within a very short walking distance (mostly inside) of many stores and restaurants.

Review 92:Location was convenient for access to Uptown and TCH for continuing our trip. The low midwinter rate for standard king room provided value.

Review 93:They didn't have hot water - inconvient as we were going to eat - they advised it might be a wait of two hours :(

Review 94:Location was excellent

Review 95:Expensive prices for New Year's Eve

Review 96:Elevators and parking!

Review 97:We didn't have any hot water all day Sat--guess too many hockey players.

Review 98:Washrooms in the exercise and pool area needed a renovation vial smell.

Review 99:Staff very nice and friendly.

Review 100:I love the location and the staff was very helpful when I arrived back with no key :)

Review 101:The elevators are far from the hotel parking lot.

Review 102:Very dated and needs room renovations, too expensive for facilities

Review 103:Unfortunately my room wasn't fully cleaned so management moved me to another room which had an extremely load fan/ac.

Review 104:Location of hotel and price.

Review 105:All

Review 106:The great hot tub and pool , this hotel is very clean. Staff is very friendly.

Review 107:Parking and then trying to figure out how to get in the building!!!

Review 108:Damage done to my car in the parking area.

Review 109:Price on booking.com

Review 110:Bathroom needs refurbishing. Restaurant has no ambience and dinner menu is uninspired, not appealing.

Review 111:Location, staff, breakfast.

Review 112:Great location with close proximity to restaurants and harbour.we would

Review 113:Location and comfort

Review 114:Parking, room cleanness, hotel needs to be upgraded since built in 1981

Review 115:not much other than staff

Review 116:A bit dated

Review 117:Great location

Review 118:Staff very helpful Amenities were great hotel clean and up todate would go back in a heartbeat

Review 119:Right off the boardwalk - great location. Excellent price.

Review 120:Beautiful hotel close to downtown Went for a wonderful walk and had a variety of restaurants to chose from close to hotel

Review 121:We were close to everything..walking distance

Review 122:Extra for third person, and extra for parking.

Review 123:Breakfast was great. Rooms were very comfortable pool was very nice
