Reviews for Iberostar Bahia - All Inclusive

Review 1:Lots of children, more on weekends, so entire families from Salvador come to be guests of the resort. Families from kids to grandfathers. No silent area, not even at "the silent pool" (exluded the French restaurant). Bad money change rate. Bathroom to discuss, looks worn.

Review 2:Spaceful and stylish decorated resort. Friendly and attentive staff. Good food (not on weekends, so the kitchen and Service is overcharged), amplious offer of beverages.

Review 3:Distance from the hotel to the centre of Praia do Forte.

Review 4:The resort is very nice and clean, the staff is very kind and helpful and the food is very good.

Review 5:The food could be better.

Review 7:too many people in the restaurants, noisy, no place to eat quietly, without a thousand kids yelling by

Review 14:the golf driving range was closed..

Review 15:Sun & relaxing by the pool Golf teacher Lucas !

Review 16:Overall restaurant services

Review 17:Installations

Review 18:BAD BEHAVIOR LOW CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE

Review 19:the reduced knowledge of foreign languages of the local staff. Even on the golf course there is only one person speaking English!

Review 20:Location, beach, pool

Review 21:The food was awfull. We have only one good day witch coincided with an extenal audit day. My best dinner was in a Praia do Forte Village restaurant.

Review 22:The staff is very nice.

Review 23:Bathroom used to be waterlogged. I used to put many towels to keep the water inside the bathroom. Analogic air conditioner in the rooms without temperature control. Restaurants very hot and they don't have air ! Only weak vent. Theater very hot too!

Review 24:Food, pool and close to the beach. Bar and baby room

Review 25:The bar and beach staff leave something to be desired. Trying to order drinks at most of the resort bars is a frustrating experience - primarily because we don't speak Portuguese. Often, when we finally reached the front of the drink line, two or three Brazilian guests would spring out of nowhere and be served ahead of us. Sometimes we were blatantly ignored. In the evening of the final day of our stay, we waited for over 10 minutes trying to order an orange juice for our daughter. We eventually left unsuccessful, unable to get either of the two bartenders to serve us. The other issue was with the beach staff. On one occasion we were advised that there were no beach umbrellas available for us - despite a dozen unused "reserved" umbrellas on the beach and numerous couples using two or more umbrellas. Meanwhile, other Brazilian guests would show up on the beach and umbrellas would “magically” become available to them. This issue was eventually resolved, but required the childish hassle of involving the front desk staff. This resort focuses on servicing the growing Brazilian middle class. During our stay, over 95% of the guests were Brazilian. This appears to be why the comments and ratings on some sites are so high and primarily in Portuguese. If you don't speak fluent Portuguese, however, expect a lower level of service in some areas of the resort. We have been guests at numerous all-inclusive resorts in Colombia, Panama, El Salvador, Mexico and the Caribbean over the years. We have never experienced any type of “language bias” at any of these resorts. For the price of this Iberostar all-inclusive resort, these "service shortfalls" just should not occur.

Review 26:This is a very nice resort. The rooms, facilities, beach, entertainment and food (especially the Steak House restaurant) are very good. Service levels with the restaurant staff, front desk employees and activities staff (Star Friends) are top notch

Review 27:Food. Horrible for a resort...many types, but nothing with a good apresentation and good taste. It was a bit better at the "special" restaurants (that you have to book in advance and where you can go only one half of the nights that you spend at the hotel) but definitely not at the level you would expect from a 5 star hotel.

Review 28:The bedroom (space) and the pool (not crowded).

Review 29:Food: Variety of fried dishes/appetizers but few options of healthy/light food. Food: Theme restaurants weren't too good. The beach in front of the hotel had too many waves - not easy to swim.

Review 30:Room was very spacious and comfortable. Staff was very polite and attentious.

Review 31:We had a horrible experience after being in the hotel for 2 days. Me, my husband and my 3 yo daughter got food poisoned. It was terrible, we spent most of the time in the bedroom vomiting and having diarrhea. My husband saw the oncall doctor they have onsite, and had to take IV to stop the vomiting. We were all very sick. Thankfully my mother did not get sick and was able to take care of the girls. I was breastfeeding so because I was dehydrated I had no milk, luckily she did not have any problems with taking the powder formula I was able to get at the pharmacy inside the hotel.

Review 32:The family friendly environment, many families with babies and toddles just like us.

Review 33:Food quality is poor. They could do better on gourmet restaurants andbuffet. Also, Booking didn't specify there are two hotels, Iberostarbahia and Iberostar praia do forte, we were expecting the Praia do Forteone and were very disappointed when we got there.

Review 34:The food was not very good. At the "normal" restaurant, the choice didn't change too much every day. It was a bit better at the "special" restaurants (that you have to book in advance and where you can go only one half of the nights that you spend at the hotel) but definitely not at the level you would expect from a 5 star hotel. The room was comfortable but also not at the level you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Generally speaking this hotel should be 4 stars and not 5. Then everything would make more sense.

Review 35:The hotel is right by the beach. There is a nice bar next to the lobby where you can get some nice drinks and cocktails. The swimming pools were not too crowded. There was enough space for everybody.

Review 36:The quality of the food, specially on the TOP restaurants, where we normally expected much higher quality. Also, everybody(with few exceptioms) only know about his job. Nothing else!!!!

Review 37:Options of relaxation

Review 38:They offer a terrible baby stroller... dirt, old, not acceptable for this type of hotel. It would be better if they haven't this offer.

Review 39:Staff is super friendly and helpful. The swimming pools are amazing for small kids. Food is very good as well and the room is impecably clean.

Review 40:It is a little bit far, you need to stay there for at least 4 days tocompensate the trip.

Review 41:The best for me are the pools, well designed, good located with a warmwater temperature. They are not so deep and you stay wherever you want.Food are pretty well prepared with so many choices. Best of all there isno charges for any kind of drinks or sodas.

Review 42:service at the bar was too slow

Review 43:Limit to the number of restaurant reservations.

Review 44:Friendly staff and great food and drinks
