Reviews for Whiskey Landing Lodge

Review 1:The floors could have used area rugs Very cold on feet Thankfully, the hotel provides slippers!!:)

Review 2:Customer service was above and beyond the call of duty! Right from booking, staff was helpful with local restaurant suggestions, very polite and then amazing in person They greeted us like friends and showed the pride in their hotel saying it was a work of art! Which we agreed with! All round great experience

Review 3:I liked the room it was a nice open floor plan concept with the post and beam was great, we had the east side I think I would have preferred the west side ( better view and sunrise)

Review 4:Price was slightly on the high side. Finding somewhere local to eat at nigh if not using the great little kitchen meant driving but that's a side issue.

Review 5:The size of room with it's wooden beam framework (ceiling). The huge bed. The fire and generally very clean everywhere. The location next to the estuary.

Review 6:Only negative was we only had one night here!

Review 7:Loved the unit with its high beam ceilings and spacious interior. Modern feeling and I really appreciate the kitchenette.

Review 8:The only downfall is there is a seafood packing and shipping factory to one side of the building which is busy all night long with lorries. We didn't get any sleep the first night and had to move to another suite for the remaining three nights. The staff were very accommodating with our issue.

Review 9:The building is absolutely amazing with cedar beams in the rooms too. The kitchen facilities are equivalent (if not better) than at home and the stay was very comfortable and relaxing after a days walking and sightseeing. The spa bath was a welcome added extra

Review 10:It would be nice if the lodge was able to provide a buffet/self serve breakfast.

Review 11:The location is great with terrific views. The lodge itself is a beautiful building and is very well equipped. The staff were brilliant and were genuinely keen to help.

Review 12:Only a small thing. My room backed into the car park at he back and yhere was quite a lot of light from the carpark coming in at night around the blinds.

Review 13:Bright sunny airy room and very comfortable bed. Staff lovely and friendly-very authentic.loved being able to open the windows

Review 14:Shower did not stop and wifi was unstable. Then, senior manger told me that I have to understand this because this hotel is located at the of road with no apology...

Review 15:Great room with a good design. Nice view to the ocean. Young front staff was very helpful for finding good restaurant.

Review 16:There was left over thrash on the sun deck probably due to 'heavy bookings'. Not sufficient time to turn around the unit We had some rashes from the beddings just after we checked out the next day so the cleanliness was not to standard.

Review 17:Disappointed with the view from our room which was over a car park, rather than the harbour which we were expecting.

Review 18:Receptionists very helpful, room spacious & well equipped.

Review 19:Big windows so very bright at dawn. No aircon on this part of the island but a beautiful fire place

Review 20:Lovely location. Beautiful accommodation and brilliant bathroom

Review 21:The jacuzzi was not big enough for two. No balcony, almost no counter space to prepare meals.

Review 22:The view, the bed, the seperation of the rooms and the services around the hotel were within walking distances. The kitchen was well stocked to cook with.

Review 23:Nothing

Review 24:- amazingly friendly staff - beautiful accommodation - spacious, clean, great facilities, airy, wonderful views - stunning location - great value

Review 25:There was nothing we did not like...it was all good! A balcony would have been a nice addition, but the floor to ceiling windows helped to make up for the lack of outdoor space.

Review 26:The staff was all wonderfully warm and welcoming...sincerely friendly!

Review 27:View on the parking lot not great.

Review 28:We had a great stay at the Whiskey Landing Lodge with our 11 months old baby. Kitchen was very well equipped, which was ideal to prepare food for the little one. King size bed was very comfortable. And the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Review 29:our room had no outdoor balcony... But theres plenty of cafes and pubs with outdoor seating for those warm summer eves

Review 30:Catherine was there to greet us a warm welcome upon arrival and offer us lots of helpful info about Uclulet. The room was cozy and comfortable. No noise from joining rooms and clean. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back! Cat & Drew

Review 31:That we had to leave

Review 32:The views here are amazing! You can sit and watch the sea lions play and the birds flying around all while being comfortable and warm! This place is beautiful and has everything you need!

Review 33:All was great with this property. We had just come from the Fairmont empress in Victoria, and we enjoyed this property much more. We will return with friends.

Review 34:What a warm welcome! Such friendly, accommodating, welcoming staff. Beautiful view and close to shops and trails. Our room had a very large, fully equipped kitchen with views of the harbour and we loved the bathrooms with jetted tub and skylights.

Review 35:The wifi worked but was very slow.

Review 36:The room was amazing. Great view, with water on three sides, comfortable living room and dining area. Good kitchen. The bed was excellent and we had a nice ensuite attached to the bedroom as well as a second bathroom. The staff were very helpful, pleasant, and knowledgeable about the area. Wonderful!

Review 37:Spacious room with vaulted, beamed ceilings complimented with a lovely fireplace. A well supplied kitchen that included a dish washer and more than adequate preparation space. Topped off with a well trained staff that truly cared about our comfort.

Review 38:Our three day journey from Namibia to Vancouver Island!! But we would do it all again.

Review 39:We were given a very warm reception upon our arrival. Excellently appointed rooms and facilities brilliant. Position on the dock was perfect ( could have spent all day and night peering through our binoculars at the comings and goings of wildlife and fishing boats both small and commercial. The Aquarium is a must to see and just opposite the lodge!) Staff were a font of knowledge re things to see and do.

Review 40:Size of room was great, kitchen and dish washer a bonus, views of sea planes landing was another bonus. Watching sea lion swimming from room another! Free wifi good Beams in the room and smell of cedar made it feel like a log cabin -but with lots of comfort.

Review 41:We were 2 couples staying at the lodge and stayed in a one bedroom unit with a pull out sofa for one pair of us, which wasn't very comfortable...but when mentioned to the staff after the 1st night they provided us with an another mattress which helped.

Review 42:The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We had a problem with noisy neighbours (not the fault of the lodge of course) and were reluctant to complain...but finally @ l a.m. did and our complaint was handled expediently and tactfully. The close proximity to the sea, the view with a lovely balcony so we could enjoy the lovely air! (A bonus was the sunshine in August! We really lucked into that!) Then the big bathtub with jets to ease away the sore knees from miles of beach and trail walks. We came with our cousins from France who were also pleasantly impressed. A truly lovely place. We will be back.

Review 43:The only reason I marked cleanliness less than excellent was a miss-communication on our and the staff's part on how to have our room cleaned. The wi-fi was s-l-o-w, but much of the area is.

Review 44:The accommodations were excellent and our family of 4 were glad to have the second bathroom and full kitchen. The location is convenient to what the town has to offer, but between a fish plant and the aquarium.

Review 45:The only inconvenience was that the wifi didn't reach our room for some reason, but was available to us in the lobby area.

Review 46:The exposed log and timber beams in the lobby and guest rooms gave a wonderful lodge feeling. Our room was spacious, the kitchen provided everything we needed and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were great and very helpful. We recommend it!

Review 47:beautiful holiday flat with well equipted kitchen; extremly friendly and helpful staff; located directly near the harbor; some shops, restaurants and a supermarket in walking distance

Review 48:The only failing was that there were no windows, I like to have fresh air and the only way we could do that was to open the balcony doors, which was not so convenient during the night.

Review 49:It is a beautifully designed hotel, large rooms with wonderful view over the harbour, well equipped kitchen.

Review 50:Fish plant next door was noisy during the day, and somewhat less noisy at night. Limited means to ventilate room (windows only open a small crack)

Review 51:Staff were superb, especially Catherine on the main desk. Spacious main room, well-furnished kitchenette, huge bathroom Clean and well-maintained. Loved the room design, and heavy wooden beams

Review 52:Wifi is very poor. There is no signal in 3rd floor room.If you want to surf the internet you must go downstairs.

Review 53:The staffs are good. The location is good and room is very clean. When we stayed at the hotel,we particularly had an afternoon tea cake.

Review 54:Nothing but a small table for eating would have been the icing on the cake

Review 55:The room was large, spacious and the bed very comfortable. The view up the harbour was great. The staff made us feel like family Within walking distance to shops and water activities and a short drive to the national park

Review 56:Beautiful room and very friendly staff. Location is very central with shops, restaurants and grocery store within a very short walking distance. The only issue we had was connecting to wifi in our room. We never did succeed. It didn't matter though...we were so busy having a great time there wasn't any time time or need to be on the internet! Thanks for a great stay!

Review 57:The rotting fish smell from next door. The price and quiet time at 10pm. Thin walls offer little privacy.

Review 58:The bed.

Review 59:The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They were fantastic.

Review 60:Location Room

Review 61:Location and welcoming and very helpful staff. Architecture of the lodge

Review 70:No AC and the windows only opened slightly.

Review 71:Poor wifi

Review 72:Size and quality of room plus friendly staff

Review 73:Sitting on our own balcony , enjoying a glass of wine as bald eagles swooped in front of us.!

Review 74:I had to leave.

Review 75:The staff was helpful, informative, warm, and made our stay delightful. (on the phone and in person)

Review 76:It was hard to leave the bed -so comfortable!

Review 77:Gorgeous rooms, cheerful staff, and relaxing location!

Review 78:Beautiful view of sunrise and the inlet;staff extremely friendly & helpful; kitchen had everything inc mini dishwasher.

Review 79:Found it was hard to warm up the room the floor was cold and wifi Service was poor but did work Eventually

Review 80:Every thing except as noted

Review 81:Helpful in recommendations on hiking and dinner. General Manager even looked after our dog while we were out to dinner

Review 82:Our only negative complaint would be that the insulation or noise barrier between rooms could be improved.

Review 83:Reception staff were excellent

Review 84:No air conditioning

Review 85:Very new, nicely decorated, friendly staff, clean

Review 86:Weather can be very misty.

Review 87:Design was spacious and airy and reflected first nation themes.

Review 88:Rooms are not cleaned everyday. Towels need to be ordered or there will be no change. There is no breakfast included.

Review 89:Room was very large, clean and well kept. Hotel is walking steps to downtown and super market. All rooms come with a full kitchen and beautiful balconies looking over the sea. Very beautiful.

Review 90:The internet was ridiculous. Anyways the trip is for relaxing and to get off pressure, so it is a chance to stay away from the computer and routine.

Review 91:The location and the view was stunning. A peaceful place with really a tasty food in the neighborhood. Staff were extremely friendly. The place was so clean and beautiful. Absolutely, I'm going to back again.
