Reviews for The Cabins at Terrace Beach

Review 1:We found the people on our Left with young children VERY noisy and we would have liked Internet.

Review 2:Location, amenities, comfort of unit and cleanliness.

Review 3:I had to present a list of deficiencies in the condo. Stoppers that did not work in the sink, bathtub, toilet seat that was loose, no cold water in faucet.

Review 4:The condo was spacious, warm fireplace and very high ceilings

Review 5:We rented a cabin and a lodge suit because we are all adults and no couple is going to want to sleep on hideabeds. We spent most of our time in the cabin and did all of our cooking there. You can walk to the lighthouse from here on a well kept loop trail. The staff were great and we had an awesome time!

Review 6:Our suite was located on another property, which seems to not get as much attention. We found a bug graveyard in the window sills, popcorn in one of the pull out beds and for our morning coffee we opened the coffee maker to find old moldy coffee grinds. We did complain and front desk did send someone for a "deep clean" We came back to our room to find a card with an apology and a bag of coffee..And a different coffee maker. In my experience you do a lot more than that to retain a returning guest. We came to Ucluelet for Christmas for the magic. And staying with The Cabins we did not find that. We actually checked out a day early.

Review 7:We enjoyed that we were close to the beach.

Review 8:Room was 14c when we arrived with no instruction on how to work the heater. Had to use the gas fireplace to warm it up. Staff came to look but didn't really know how the electronic thermostat worked either. Parking was a little crowded. No hottub. Has two person bathtub instead.

Review 9:Quiet, although could hear someone snoring in the next room. Great location and price.

Review 10:Booked on booking.com. Site did not give total with taxes and pet deposit. Best to book directly with The Cabins.

Review 11:Friendly informative staff on the area. Excellent location. Located on a Beautiful sheltered little beach

Review 12:Slow internet n no phone ... More comfortable to hv at least one of those to keep contact

Review 13:Nice, quiet, spacious, proximity to beach n trails, not far from grocery

Review 14:Unusable bathtub, had stains and caulking!! at the the bottom. Light fixtures short of bulbs which was rectified at our request but shouldn't have been necessary. No blind on outside door immediately off bedroom on the ground floor so no privacy while walking to bathroom from people outside!

Review 15:Great location. Helpful staff

Review 16:Poor WIFI, don't plan on working. Some of the staff are indifferent, weird. No kitchen or food service, no bar, and a bit of a walk from town if you need anything. A car is a must.

Review 17:Great condo like facility at the Sabbatical. Great bed. Beautiful setting. Furnishings were modern and functional. Fully stocked kitchen. Comfortable, clean and we felt at home. Even a washer and dryer in the unit.

Review 18:While the location is not close to restaurants, eat., it is just a short walk to the Wild Pacific Trail, which is why we chose it. The unit was modern, clean, and in a beautiful spot. Highly recommend this property.

Review 19:Wi-Fi not available, fireplace not working, no wardrobe closet, parking far from suite, second floor with bed on 3 x 6 twisted, squeaky and see through to bathroom/toilet planks with no floor coverings, no balcony, poor lighting, strata buildings looking like industrial mining buildings, 50% of price charged right away after the booking.

Review 20:Location close to trail and beach, kitchen, standard bath tub

Review 21:There was no internet connection in our suite- the only one of the complex. I feel something should be arranged to make that connection possible. Also, a cross-breeze for the room upstairs would be appreciated. It was a bit stuffy.

Review 22:It was wonderful to be steps away from the Pacific Rim Trail. We did it every day!

Review 23:Towels smelled a little musty, as though they weren't fully dried before folded... Pull-out couch was a little stiff to sleep on, but OK.

Review 24:Stayed in one of the modern, 2 bedroom, condo-style units. Very comfy beds/pillows. Great light from lots of windows. Nice fireplace in large, open living/dining/kitchen area. Great bathrooms (3!), very clean. Great atmosphere, cool place to stay with a group of people! Lots of place for the kids to spread out and play inside, though make sure they're OK with tall staircase. Cute deck with BBQ. Nice to have laundry and dishwasher with soap provided. Great place to stay - would come back!

Review 25:While pet friendly, we paid dearly for taking our 2 small dogs ($20 per dog per night). The ceilings are not well insulated from the suite above so when someone walked, you could hear it quite loudly. When it rained, the water dripped down hard onto the flashing just outside the bedroom window, making an annoying hammering sound that was hard to ignore. These things were irritating enough that I would not stay there again.

Review 26:We stayed in a sabbatical suite which has a kitchen and washer and dryer, and that was very handy. It is spacious, covering two floors. The TVs in both bedrooms were nice to have, too. The spa bath was luxurious.

Review 27:No doors on bedrooms. It felt damp in the downstairs bedroom when we arrived until we turned the heating on.

Review 28:Spacious with good cooking facilities and friendly welcome. A short walk from Terrace beach.

Review 29:We were told on check in that if we had wanted a cabin away from the highway or with a view we could not get one by booking through Booking.com. Also that if we wanted best price, next time call the venue directly. This kind of offended us even though the staff was generally courteous and friendly. On the plus side, at this end of the peninsula the highway is not busy so noise was not an issue. We were told the mattresses on the beds had been replaced recently but both beds in our unit were soft and had quite an uncomfortable and pronounced sag in the middle. Also a fair amount of acrobatics needed for the second person to get in and out of the lower floor bed as it is jammed against a wall, fairly high with a massive footboard (Sag just makes it worse). Upstairs bath was missing a bath mat

Review 30:The kitchenette was fairly well equipped. Close to town, the beach and pleasant/easy walk around the point.

Review 31:Poor parking. Nice to have a breakfast included.

Review 32:Stayed at the lodge and found it to be very nice. Our friends stayed elsewhere and were jealous of our digs.

Review 33:noisy late-night party next door which ruined the quiet location. Also, parking is hit and miss. We were out for dinner and when we returned all the parking spots were gone and we had to park on the street. Also, no restaurants serving a sit-down breakfast in Ucluelet. We had to drive to Port Alberni for that.

Review 34:quiet location

Review 35:The pullout sofa-bed was dreadfull: the cabin was supposed to fit 6 but only 4 can sleep in reasonable comfort. Our boys ended up sleeping on the floor rather than on the sofa. Also, there is no wall or door between rooms, so no intimacy. Finally, most windows have no curtains: be prepared to rise early!

Review 36:The cabin was cosy and well equiped, the staff very pleasant.

Review 37:Garbage bags wasnt sufficient, the beddings didnt smell like they have been washed

Review 38:The kitchen utensils were almost complete, abundant supply of soap, shampoo and conditioner, place was clean

Review 39:The poor Internet... and price was highwould of loved a Couple more nights, but special time was had will come back hopefully there wilk be special deals?

Review 40:The size of cabins, location, location and staff

Review 41:Wonderful location next to the beach. Fully equipped cabin with balcony on 3 floors. Towels replaced daily. Clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful. Quiet and relaxing

Review 42:1) The bed frame was broken when we checked into the room. We tried to tell the staff that night but the office was already closed (short office hours). We told them the next day, but they didn't fix it and had to sleep on the broken bed the second night too. 2) No ocean view. We were on the inlet side. It was blocked views of a swamp. Not good. 3) Very expensive for what it was.

Review 43:Very large apartment unit. Well equipped and nice finishes.

Review 44:It was expensive for us. We thought we were going to have a view of the ocean. We expected a rustic setting like we had on our previous stay.

Review 45:We were over-accomodated for our needs. Lovely condo-style with large living and dining room, full kitchen. View of cove was limited, but did see an eagle and enjoyed watching the birds from the deck.

Review 46:The cabins were awesome, but since we have 4 kids it would have been nice to have bunk beds on the lower level rather than a queen bed, and pull out couch on the main floor.

Review 47:Location was beautiful, beach was nice, staff was awesome and cabin was very nicely upgraded and newly remodeled.

Review 48:Only minor details - the bathroom sink was plugged - slow to drain. Had to fix the tub tap so that it would work properly. But still an awesome place to stay!

Review 49:We LOVED our cabin. It was private and very quiet. We found it clean and fairly well organized. No complaints. Can't wait to come back!!

Review 50:The cabin is rustic making pristine cleanliness impossible but that is of little importance when you consider the amazing location.

Review 51:Being immersed in the Pacific Rim rainforest was amazing. The view from our deck was breathtaking!

Review 52:The first 2 nights( and days ) the chalet did not lock . We told thestaff who said they will take care of it but it took 3 days . Then , wearrived after 9 pm the last night and our key did not work on the newlock. We were so lucky that a member of the staff at stop by and when Iheard he truck leaving I ran after to let her know that the lock waschanged but no new keys were left ot no message were left for us to knowabout it. I thought that we were so lucky to be there at the same timeshe was as she , after 20 min without any luck getting in touch with theowner , decides to go and drive by his place. After another 15 minutesshe showed up with the owner on the passanger seat as she was toointoxicated to drive for sure . She was able to get ins=ide the lodgeand get our chalet's key . The owner, tried to let us know thatbesides the trouble we were making ( wow! ) he had been running thebusisness for 13 years without having problems like that before andtried to make us look bad !!!! finally after telling me his name for the3 rd times he said : " ok . sorry ! " I know Ucluelet andTofino are Hippes place and funky and people are mellows but thius guywas offensive , trying to turn thing around making Us look bad hwn wedid not make any trouble with having 2 nights and 2 days without a lockbut we still paid the full price for the place ... not impressed at allas have been there every years but at different locations and it hadalways been great . I will never go ther again and will telle evry bodyI know about it !

Review 53:The girlks at the reception when they were there were very friendly .The Bedrooms are roomy and comfortable

Review 54:No complaints here.

Review 55:The staff was so incredibly pleasant and helpful. The cabin was clean and stocked with everything we needed. We had brought our own food so we didn't get the chance to enjoy the breakfast. The cabin we stayed in was not equipped with wifi (shh I chose that one on purpose). Myself and my boyfriend celebrated two years together in the private and cozy Happy Cabin and we were both blown away by it. The view was nice, we had a fire pit (which we utilized), the bed was comfortable, it had that perfect cabin feel. I know I was supposed to write two or three sentences but I'm long winded so whatever.

Review 56:Beach view would've been the icing on the cake but not a major detour ant. Would definitely come back and stay again.

Review 57:Just got back from a 3 night stay at the cabins in a Portside cabin.. Could've easily stayed another 2 nights...so relaxing! Cooked all our meals in the self contained kitchen...super comfy beds...loved the provided toiletries in the bathroom. Nice beach approximately 5 min walk away.

Review 58:The pillows were all huge, not comfortable for a good neck position and sleep. Coffee cups were tiny and makes the place seem cheap.

Review 59:Loved the high ceilings and location of the cabin.

Review 60:Arrived late to find they had changed our room, problems with both toilets, less kitchen space than expected, less privacey for bedrooms than expected, got the older cabin, by the beach, but we were out at other beaches and walks. Area is beautiful.

Review 61:Enjoyed the area, beach outside our door was nice and quiet, some bird life there, lovely trees. Great walks nearby.

Review 62:We arrived late, they had us checked in, heat on, and lights on to welcome us. It was instantly relaxing. Calm atmosphere, and even in the rain, I was chipper and relaxed. An excellent place to chill out.

Review 63:The location was gorgeous, with direct beach views and access - great for people and pups - close to nature walks and a short drive to the village. The cabin itself was perfectly cabin-y - sweetly rustic, and with all the creature comforts you could ask for. Oh, and a deep soaker tub overlooking the ocean.... aaaaaah, heaven!

Review 64:The faucet in the bathroom was in need of repair.

Review 65:Our stay at The Cabins was so comfortable and peaceful..We loved it..thank you Sarah for being so friendly and helpful. Evenings and mornings were especially wonderful spent out on the deck overlooking old growth trees and Terrace Beach. The king size bed was heavenly. Also the easy access to the Wild Pacific trail was another bonus..So grateful we had such a lovely corner unit..We will come back and stay again soon.

Review 66:The balcony was in full view of the road and didn't feel private. Some dust bunnies in the rafters and lots under the bed. Bathtub was small. One person couldn't stretch out in it. Some wonky plug ins. Wifi signal was weak.

Review 67:The cabin was spacious for two. The kitchen was well equipped with cookware, dishes, glasses and utensils. The bed was awesome with a big comforter. When we entered the cabin, the electric fireplace was on and calm music was playing: it was very welcoming. We were close to the beach.

Review 68:I did not like leaving! I hope Ucluelet will expand their recycling program . ..

Review 69:I liked the solitude of Cabin #9 in the upper canopy, the fact that it has 2 bathrooms, full kitchen facilities, has lots of windows and skylights for natural light and comfortable clean furnishings. Only a few minutes to the beach and the Lighthouse trail.

Review 70:the open plan of the cottages means the bedrooms have no doors.

Review 71:a beautiful location with really friendly ppl running things. They were even nice when they had to tell us off for being too loud late at night.

Review 72:I thought it would be a Ainsley standing cabin not a group cabin. We could head the people above us showering, walking around and slight talking

Review 73:Bed was comfy and double tub was nice. The patio looking out into the rain forest was also a good touch!

Review 74:Super friendly, welcoming staff, excellent deal on the King Suite, spectacular views, best sleep ever, wished I had as wonderful a bed and bathroom at home! We'll go back there for sure!

Review 75:Shower tubs did not drain well and were slippery. We would recommend hand rails in shower tubs for additional safety. My father did slip and fall while getting into the tub.

Review 76:The location near trails and beach was excellent.

Review 77:Location of our cabin ' the Nest' was excellent - the only one we would go back to as its the best. View Eagles, Deer and Bears on the beach from the ''THE NEST''.

Review 78:I didn't like the bed it was very uncomfortable I woke up with a sore back every morning and I didn't like that the balcony window had to curtain or blinds

Review 79:Great place, was home away from home for a few nights. Very clean and organized. Nice staff.

Review 80:Should have a number to call after hours and locks on the bathroom door! Hooks behind the door in the bathroom would be helpful too.

Review 81:Loved the place. Nice and clean and fit 5 adults comfortably. Full equipped kitchen and beautiful shower.

Review 82:photos of cabin did not represent the actual cabin. no curtains or blinds on the windows next to the sofa bed. Poor craftsmanship on the floors and hand rails as we received several splinters from both. The wifi would go from 4 bars to 0 bars every few minutes. Windows had no screens so if you open them the cabin will fill with bugs. The towels were thin and low quality. The sofa bed needs a new mattress. It's not worth the price you pay.

Review 83:The beds were comfy. The location was good.

Review 84:The upstair bathroom needs to be soundproofed. I know it sounds funny but there is no ceiling enclosing the bathroom and sounds travel easily in this type of high ceiling chalet. Also, when the bathroom light is turned on in the middle of the night, the whole upstair chalet is now lighted. The party next door until 1 or 2 in the morning was a drag. I am a light sleeper hence the problem. I could not complain to the office since there is no phone and no one is working at that time of the night. I did not want to face up to a bunch of drunken people. Our bed mattresses were way to soft. I felt like I was sleeping in a hammock, so did my wife. The upstair bedroom windows are facing the parking lot which means that anybody coming in the parking lot late at night with the car headlights on will shine them into your bedroom (noise + light = waking up people). The steep stairs to go to the lower bedroom can be risky for an elderly person who needs to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. There is no bathroom adjacent to the lower bedroom.

Review 85:The atmosphere in general The staff friendliness and their helpfulness when we needed an extra lamp for reading. The overall quality of the chalet The fact that there is no house keeping on a daily basis which we usually do not need. The kitchen was great and very clean. How easy it was to get to trails and the beach. The quietness in general except if people partied next door.

Review 86:Location of our cabin on the property was not great. Would have preferred a water view if not on the waterfront. The name "the Cabins at Terrace Beach" leads one to expect at least a water view.

Review 87:Staff was considerate and polite and conscientious. Self-corrected a mistake in billing before I realized it. The cabin itself was comfortable and well appointed and clean.

Review 88:Make sure your pricing is clear when someone is booking. Only thing I've had a problem with.

Review 89:Amazing views, quiet location

Review 90:The only thing I didn't like was having to leave!

Review 91:The staff and accommodations were both incredible.

Review 92:For a "west coast experience" this really had no view.

Review 93:The staff and the bed were great.

Review 94:poor internet connection

Review 95:privacy, comfortable bed , updated furniture,

Review 96:Great facility in a super location!

Review 97:We come here every year love it! Quiet cabins near the beach !

Review 98:It was quite pricey for two people

Review 99:We stayed in an apartment type cabin and had laundry facilities bbq and full kitchen. It was great.

Review 100:Location. Super friendly staff

Review 101:Great location, excellent accommodation and friendly staff

Review 102:Open layout so bedrooms aren't totally cut off from living area

Review 103:Great location and comfortable accommodation.

Review 104:Lovely cabin Friendly staff Greta location

Review 105:The Wifi is a little slow, but if you are going on the island it's not to stay on your laptop all day

Review 106:property could use a little grooming.

Review 107:great location for the beach and trails.

Review 108:Apartment quite dark. Rather noisy.

Review 109:Surroundings

Review 110:The trials that were close by, the view, and the room

Review 111:More reliable wifi although location makes that hard

Review 112:Great location and accommodation. Friendly staff although rarely needed.

Review 113:hiking to the ocean in the morning

Review 114:We slept in a two bedroom appartment which was very comfartale. There is not much to do around the village

Review 115:beautiful and spacious cabins, very quite and relaxed location, friendly and helpful staff

Review 116:The view.

Review 117:The Wifi was sometimes slow.

Review 118:The hospitality of the staff was perfectly. Ucluelet is the better place for a relaxed stay.

Review 119:Ground floor deck could be cleaned up weeds

Review 120:Clean had every thing you need. Close to water and trails.

Review 121:Bed was horrible both upstairs and downstairs. Living room was uncomfortable for more than 2 people.

Review 122:Liked the location and cleanliness.

Review 123:Bathroom requires an extract fan

Review 124:Location, Emma in reception was extremely helpful and friendly

Review 125:Having the forest right outside our cabin was great for bird watching and other animals.

Review 126:Fireplace did not work, kept running out of water, staff very blasé' about situation did nothing to rectify

Review 127:Well appointed.

Review 128:Brilliant cabin by the sea. The staff were very friendly on the phone with the fact we arrived late.
