Review 5：The very friendly staff. The daughter of the owners was working there and she constantly helped us out with the language- nothing was too much trouble. Can do some great walks there with the best alpine scenery and cowbells.

Review 8：everything! The owners are very friendly and hospitable, and the staff helpful. The rooms are exceptionally clean, and the breakfast is delicious. They were so accommodating to my gluten intolerance that they brought GF bread just for me. I loved the whole experience.

Review 22：I would just say it was an OK hotel. Way way way off the beaten (mountain) path. It was dated and a little warn. Not what I expected, although maybe my expectations for Appenzell were too high...in my opinion this hotel is a 6 or 7.

Review 24：It was the best place we stayed at in our trip around Europe. Surroundedby nature, with paths to walk from the hotel, fresh air, cozy bedroomsand excellent breakfast and fresh food. The service was excellent. Theyeven have a box full of toys for children and some garden games as well.There's a table with chocolates, teas, coffee and fruit in theevening for free. All the details one would want to have duringone's holidays. A lovely place to relax and rest.

Review 25：The family is wonderful. They are a wonderful and cheerful host. Our stay over there was excellent and memorable and will surely visit again at the earliest. They went out of the way to prepare a wonderful vegetarian meal. Rite from the hospitality to the location of the hotel to the rooms was just awesome. On our request the room was very well decorated with Bottle of wine for making our honeymoon a wonderful experience. Thank u very much

Review 26：We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Hiking trails start just beside the hotel with amazing views. Breakfast was decent, we liked that we make our own eggs (frying pan, oil & eggs are provided) also for people who want to eat light at night, there are lot of fruit & snacks on 2nd floor all night, Which we loved. Fondue and cheese rosti were pretty good in the restaurant.

Review 27：The warm & friendly reception by the owner (husband & wife). All facilities (including the indoor pool and sauna) are well maintained. Guest rooms are spacious and very clean. A nice variety of menu in the restaurant. The owner is the chef, too, and he makes a great salad sauce! The indoor pool is nicely heated to the extent that it is like a hot spring.
