Lekker rustig, ook aan het zwembad. Voldoende stoelen. Hotel met charme en stijl. Zeer mooie accommodatie. Ik was maar een paar dagen hier, maar was graag nog een paar dagen langer gebleven. Ook het eten was zeer fijn. Een hotel om lekker te relaxen. 5 minuten wandelen en je bent in het centrum van Ascona. Ga hier zeker nog eens terug.

Review 28：Unfortunately lunch and dinner are not served for long. Last servings for dinner were at 20:45 and everyone had left the restaurant by before 22:00. The audience for this hotel is mostly older hence perhaps the early dinner servings, however lunch is not served for long either. Otherwise, I cannot fault this hotel.

Review 29：Whilst not directly on the lake, the views, being set up on a hill looking over Ascona and the lake, are fabulous. The hotel is spectacular. It's very modern, clean and luxurious. The room was comfortable and spacious with a great view. The pool has perfect surroundings with views over the mountains and lunch is served in the restaurant by the pool. Dinner is served with views over Ascona, the lake and the mountains and the food is delicious. The setting is relaxing with a pianist playing lovely music. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and we would definitely stay here again. It's around a ten minute walk to the lake promenade which is spectacular with several restaurants and shops. Overall, a great stay.

As we were there fora tango event in the hotel, our friends and their car were locked ingates and struggled to find a staff person to open the gate to let theircar out. I guess there was poor signage about parking that now needsattention.

It was magnificent to have this opportunity.Location was perfect, high enough for a great view and an easy walk tothe sweet village and its shopping and restaurants. Review 90：The hotel is to a high standard, whilst reasonably priced for the area. We had a beautiful balcony with lake view and a very good sized room. The hotel had a very personal feel, with the owner greeting the guests over a free aperitif on Friday night and then checking weekend was to satisfaction on Sunday morning breakfast. Good breakfast buffet, beautiful views, nice pool and jacuzzi area. Would definitely return!

Review 91：We had originally been given two small North facing rooms which were small and not very nice in aspect. Although the hotel was full, the owner was fantastic and upgraded us at a small additional cost to a very nice suite on the top floor with a large balcony. On the second night we were given a very nice large room with fabulous views and balcony again. The staff could not have been kinder and more obliging; breakfasts were great and facilities excellent and we were even given a run into Locarno on the morning of our departure.

Review 92：The view from the room was far reaching and beautiful. The room itself was spacious and provided robes pool towels etc. It had a large terrace with loungers and umbrella but my favourite part was the beautiful breakfast on the sunny elegant terrace where the friendly owner had a personal welcome for all her guests. We really enjoyed the atmosphere here.

Review 93：The less expensive rooms facing the hill side are inevitably darkerthan those with lake views. The hotel is a stiff climb from thetown/lake. The hotel minibus does one round trip per day, a secondwould be helpful.

Review 97：One might probably never gets used to Swiss hotel rates as also theAscona Hotel was well overpriced - the room we stayed in was spaciouswith a nice balcony overlooking the lake. However, the hotel would needa refurbishing as the furniture, floorings and wall papers are a bitused and outdated. Although the receptionist noted during theregistration my husbund's anniversairy would take place during our stay(and a round one it was!), he did not get anything from the hotel - nodrinks offered nor a bottle of champaign. For a 4 Star hotel I foundthat quite poor.

Review 98：The Ascona Hotel offers very nice views over the Lago Maggiore and thecity of Ascona, if you book a room with lake view. It is only a shortwalk down to the old town, the lake side and all the lovely restaurantsin Ascona. The pool area is spacious enough although we stayed thereduring the week and with the Locarno Film Festival just finished. Thestaff is friendly and helpful.

More upsetting: if you don't arrive rather early for breakfast or dinner you'll be in for lousier service as the staff gets overwhelmed (we waited over 30 minutes on our first dinner there to get to look at the menus -- a table besides ours went through worse).

The staff was courteous and older staff at the restaurant were extremely pleasant and nice towards our daughter. Our room -- cheapest on offer -- were very spacious and the terrace was an unexpected plus.

No coffee or tea making facility in the room. Poor built in hair dryer in bathroom with weak flow. Woken up at 0430 one morning by young guests. Easy to hear guests in other rooms with elevated speaking etc. Beds could be more comfortable.
