Reviews for Hotel Adler
Review 1:Some amenities in bathroom would be appreciated. Some more variety in breakfast and some mini bar are also needed.
Review 2:Very kind staff. Clean facilities and good restaurant.
Review 3:The hotel is located at an intersection therefore can't really leave the window open as traffic noise in early morning if you are a quiet sleeper.
Review 4:A short walk to train station. Quite close to downtown area. Very clean everywhere. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Furniture and settings are nicely fit and smartly used in all areas: bedroom, luggage rack and bathrooms.
Review 5:Neither booking.com or the hotel owner advised us that there would be a pop concert in this tiny village. We travelled thousands of miles and for both nights had no sleep. Very unprofessional.
Review 6:Pretty village
Review 7:The location is very good even without own transport. The nice comfortable room comes with a magnificent view. Great to have friendly hosts who spoil you with a good hardy breakfast.
Review 8:The bed was a bit small for me (180cm tall man).
Review 9:A few minutes walk from the centre of the town. The room was spacious enough for a family with a small child. The hotel kindly offerred a room with one double bed and one extra bed for us, which was very helpful for us. Wifi access was good. Breakfast was nice.
Review 10:no complaints!
Review 11:staff incredibly helpful with trying to help us book excursions and giving dinner recommendations. The breakfast was delicious and we felt very welcome at the Adler.
Review 12:Everything was perfect. No complaints about anything.
Review 13:This proud gracious family ensures that your visit to this wonderful village and hotel is unforgettable. We also had cheese fondue in the Adler Kellar (on the property) which was also memorable. Our first visit there so perfect that we came back and stopped another night on way to Zurich airport...and had more fondue. :)
Review 14:Well, to begin with the owner hS a great sense of humor and his son can tease him with a smile. Bosa, the lady who greeted us every morning at breakfast with a smile, hot coffee and cowboy boots made our breakfasts very special. It was fun to relax, laugh through language tangles, to feel genuinely welcome.
Review 15:Nothing
Review 16:Amazingly friendly staff Simple but lovely hotel Directly in the centre, next to the river and to the "Appenzeller Bier" brewery - perfect location!
Review 17:Nothing to complain about.
Review 18:Hotel location at the edge of town, nice view. Staff great, good breakfast, could not eat dinner there as they closed at 6 pm so had to go to another hotel restaurant just down the road.
Review 19:-Breakfast included local ham and other cold cuts, cheese, yogurt, cereal, fruit, spreads of all kinds but best of all...the addicting and yummy crossants baked by the owner. These are not the flat type you often see other places. They are crispier and slimmer. You have to taste to understand what I mean! -Owner makes outstanding and beautiful pastries and other desserts that they sell in their cafe. -Location: Close to train station (see note at end of review) and all the cute shops and restaaurants in this fairy tale-like town. They have outdoor spaces to sit that are gorgeous. It's also near a little river or canal that is very picturesque. -WIFI and Phone: Best I had on my entire trip! Connection is faster than any other I experienced in Switzerland or Italy. Calls to the USA use VOIP technology and were cheaper than using a phone card or cell phone, excellent quality! -Hospitable Staff: Both owner and son were very accommodating. The son understands English well and communicates well enough so that there were no problems. The hotel is so charming in a very Swiss way. Mine had a very modern bathroom (including a tub) and a cute balcony. Do you know how you feel when you get home after a trip and cannot wait to write about how good a place is? This is one of those places.

Review 30:Exceptional hotel with very friendly and helpful family owners. Went out of their way to procure gluten free bread. Highly recommend!
Review 31:The staff members exceeded expectations.
Review 32:Church bell opposite rings non stop.
Review 33:Very convenient location. Withing walking distance to everything in town. Enough parking lots. Very clean rooms.
Review 34:Saying the rooms have a river view is beyond stretching the truth. Location on busy noisy highway does not match images from the web site.
Review 35:Great location. Nice historic hotel.
Review 36:The attitude of staff is very nice!
Review 37:We regret not going downstairs to experience the cheese fondue on Tuesday night! Our biggest regret this trip so far. We had already eaten and were very tired, but now, wish we had of just pulled our head in and enjoyed the experience. We found out later this was their specialty and it was only that night!!! Very bummed! Nothing but good things to say!
Review 38:Staff were amazing, and so friendly! The town itself was just delightful, and the view from Hoher Kasten was just sensational! I would stay here again and every time, without hesitation! And the breakfast was delicious! Waking up to the amazing smell of freshly baked bread in their own bakery! Just the best!!
Review 39:Nothing.
Review 40:I prefer to stay at family owned and operated hotels like this hotelwhenI am in Europe. We enjoyed the benefits of the Appenzell pass which isincluded when saying at least 3 nights.
Review 41:The wireless internet was spotty in our room, but worked well in the lobby.
Review 42:The room was cozy and the breakfast was very good. The staff was also very friendly.
Review 43:Everything perfect for us.
Review 44:Perfect location. Everything is in walking distance. Reception is very helpful and laid back, extremely quick and easy check in and out. Breakfast is pretty good and included in the room price which was very reasonable. They were great at accommodating our group of 5 people in two rooms at a very good rate. Everything was easy or "no problem" every time we made a request or asked for information. Very nice people.
Review 45:Room next to lobby Extremely poor quality room and shower Paid 130 Sfr. I live in Switzerland and youth hostels are much nicer! Recommend to stay juht outside of town and go for a real breakfast at a backery!
Review 46:Bathroom design at least in my room a bit outdated - could need a bit ofrefurbishing (tiles) - but that's grumbling about peanuts.
Review 47:Friendly and multilingual staff, good variety for breakfast. Locateddirectly at the entrance of the small town.
Review 48:Central position, quiet, characterful room, family owned and run, friendly and helpful owners, nice breakfast, 3 day pass for Appenzeller attractions.
Review 49:I can't imagine a more charming town, hotel, or staff. We loved everything about our stay in spite of the horrible weather. I was awakened on Saturday morning by the parade of cattle. What a wonderful surprise. This made it all worth while, in spite of the rain.
Review 50:Great location. Very friendly staff, they even let me see the 2 rooms they had and let me pick the one I wanted. Will be sure to stay there again.
Review 51:I think that the breakfast should be improved: rather poor.
