Reviews for Hotel Kandahar
Review 1:A very minor niggle was the poor WiFi in the room
Review 2:This hotel is in an excellent location with friendly welcoming and efficient staff. It was spotlessly clean, the room was comfortable and the breakfast was super value for money - I would recommend this hotel
Review 3:There was coffee and tea in the room, but after we had used the one tea bag and one Camomile, they were not replaced for the next four days. Similarly with the shaving kit, no gel replacement during the stay. A bit disappointing as the rest was good.
Review 4:Great location, right on the slopes with the ski locker where you need it. Good wholesome cooking , not fancy but quite filling. Friendly staff.
Review 5:Nothing, Perfect holiday experience.
Review 6:Excellent hotel, positioned right next to the slopes. Fantastic staff, always available to help with what ever you needed.
Review 7:The offered WiFi is extremely slow, almost unusable at a times...
Review 8:The personnel is very friendly, always ready to come out of their way to assist in everything needed. And the location could not be better, with direct access to the ski slopes!
Review 9:Poor wifi (just one connexion simultaneously per room)
Review 10:Staff, location (on the slopes) and food. We arrived one hour late and they served us dinner anyway
Review 11:- Perhaps beds could be a bit bigger (I'm 1.85m ...) - Hotel Parking for car
Review 12:- In front of ski tracks - In the middle of Pas de la Case - Nice people, very helpful - Very nice SPA quality / price - True "ski champions breakfast" - Nice Bar lounge
Review 13:Friendly staff excellent service and great food !
Review 14:Superb location, comfortable, great spa, helpful staff
Review 15:WiFi very poor in rooms Breakfast good but dinners rather mass catered
Review 16:Staff Location Facilities in room
Review 17:Staff realy went out of their way to assist with everything. Location is A+ just in front of cable.
Review 18:limited WiFi usage.
Review 19:staff were very helpful and friendly.
Review 20:Nada!
Review 21:Close to the slopes, best service in long time... Late chek out without no extra cost+++ Nice breakfast. Will return.
Review 22:The staff well cared the guests. I had one child ill, but they had special hospitality and service. Very large lounge floor with big windors facing the ski slopes free for all guests with dedicated space for small kids. Right in front of the ski slope. Cant be better in terms of location.
Review 23:Our room was at the hotel back, the clients of the bars at the bottom of the opposite house could be noisy in the night. However double glass windows were efficiently cutting the noise, when closed. WiFi signal was very week in the room, and even from the bar the connection could be slow in the evening.
Review 24:The hotel is very clean, run by a friendly and efficient staff. Rooms are comfortable, and a nice, large lounge / bar extends the "usabe" area considerably. The breakfasts and dinners are excellent. Easy access to ski slopes: just 18 steps up to the level of ski lifts.
Review 25:In my view, this is clearly not a 4 star hotel by international standards (basic furniture; small room; no mini bar; oldish bathroom; double bed of 140 or 150 cm width…in a 4 star hotel you normally get that for a single room, for a double room I expect a king size bed). Mattress was very hard (too hard for me). Dinner was by no means of "gastronomique" standard and breakfast buffet not comparable to a 4 star hotel… it was of the quality of a 3 star hotel. Spa at extra cost, no swimming pool; ...but admitedly a real 4 star hotel would also have been more expensive.
Review 26:friendly staff; good location; good for skiing as slope is only a few meters away (ski storage available); nice spa (at extra cost and no swimming pool)
Review 27:Room was initially very hot and stuffy - this was easily fixed by turning the radiators off and opening the balcony doors for an hour or so each day.
Review 28:Excellent location. Room spacious enough with plenty of cupboard space. Almost all staff spoke English and were helpful. Kitchen coped well with 1 vegetarian in our group. Food was very good, including children's options. Lounge area was open most of the time and was a pleasant place to relax.
Review 29:No entertainment. Perhaps a Pool or tennis table would be good. Wi-Fi didn't last long enough. Thought the Spa was expensive.
Review 30:Ski slopes close by. Food very good but would have been nice to have more variety.
Review 31:The beds are not comfortable. WiFi limitations are annoying (like only 1 concurrent connection per user, and 80MB per day). Many of the stuff members don't speak English. The Ski room is small. Spa visit is 12.5 Euro and is time limited (1-1.5 hours). To activate the room safe you have to pay few Euros. No parking.
Review 32:The hotel is very close to the slopes. Some of the staff members (the owners) are great and helpfull. The hotel bar is beautiful and relaxing. Food is very tasty and diverse, both Breakfast and Dinner. Free (limited) wifi
Review 33:Food Please be carefull on wi-fi charges the website says it is free but you still get charged. Please double check your bill at check out even if you booked ahead to make sure it is the same. Family room is one room with squashed beds therefore call reception ahead of your booking to double check please. Meal were included at our stay, unfortunately we were very dissapointed we had to go and find food for children, where the menu did not match the food they served. It is a family run hotel they have their own customers so turning up from the United Kingdom, they see you as a tourist and they don't care that much for foreign stays, they built their own customers through locals and they not that keen on other visitors. Service Approach to customers, if you a local or a previous customer the owner will take charge. Swimming pool entry was an extra charge where we were surprised with children and we went to local swimming pool with better facsilities.
Review 34:Unfortunately we all as a family do not have anything to say what we liked, for a New Year's Eve stay it was extremely disappointing.
Review 35:Hotel is close to the slopes and everything else. Great service at the restaurant, bar and front desk. For sure the family that manages this hotel knows how to please/take care of a client.
Review 36:All ok
Review 37:Super friendly staff - everyone assisted when asked. Very ameniable. Location is good, facilities good. Bar prices good/competitive. Food options excellent. All round good hotel.
Review 38:Nothing.
Review 39:The room was clean, the bathroom was big, the staff was courteous and friendly, the food (breakfast) was great, and the location was perfect (right next to the main ski lifts). It was just great.
Review 40:There was alot of street noise quite late, upto 3ish, and the rooms were really hot so had to have windows open therefore impossible to sleep. Only one English channel on TV, got really bored with CNN. The rooms quite small, our 4 grown up children shared a "four person" room which had just enough room for a small double bed and bunk beds. There was no ventilation to the bathroom and separate WC which was very unpleasant.
Review 41:The location was excellent, we were directly opposite the ski lifts. The staff were really friendly, it was obviously a family run hotel. The food was good, a varied menu each night although breakfast stayed the same. The spa was lovely although overpriced.
Review 42:The food in the restaurant was below par and I would recommend board only. The walls and doors in the rooms are really thin and therefore the noise from other rooms can be heard pretty clearly.
Review 43:The location is the best thing about the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke good english. Thomas on reception is a really great guy.
Review 44:The service at meals was sometimes a bit slow.
Review 45:The staff was very friendly and helpful going out of their way to be of service. Meals were good and well organized. The location was ideal for skiers.
Review 46:The hotel was family run with staff who were helpful, friendly anddedicated to providing a top class professional service from start tofinish. The hotel was perfectly located, right next to the ski slopesand lifts. The value of money for a half board stay I thought wasexcellent considering the quality and variety of food on offer. Andorrahadnt previously been on my ski destination list but certainly is nowand there would be no heaitation in returning to Pas de la Casa andHotel Kandahar!!
Review 47:Unfortunately the lack of car parking was an issue. No doubt this is thesame for all hotels in Pas de la Casa and generally speaking (when thereis no snow in the streets), this can be managed fairly well because thehotel have a loading bay handy but for us (because we could not drivedown in the snow) it meant three 30 minute bag humping trips up and downto the only multi-story in town. It won't prevent us staying again butit is a consideration for families.
Review 48:We really enjoyed our stay, the staff were very friendly and therestaurant was of an unexpectedly high standard. Of course the hotelis also ideally situated for the ski-slopes. We will definitely staythere again.
Review 49:Great hotel for family with kids. No worry for walking in the snowy roads to get to the slope since it is right on the ski slope. Staff is friendly to families and we saw many other families staying.
Review 50:Very poor wi-fi, children's meals not the best, spa expensive.
Review 51:Location excellent, food very good for adults. Staff friendly
Review 52:Internet was limited and some of the waiting staff were rude
Review 53:location
Review 54:Having restricted internet connection.
Review 55:Staff very helpful,
Review 56:Check in too long, lasted almost 45 mn. Staff friendly but not very efficient.
Review 57:Location Clean rooms
Review 58:Toilet separated from the bathroom.
Review 59:Location near the ski tracks, comfort and staff sympathy.
Review 60:Best hotel experience to date. Great location and run by a great family. Lovely atmosphere and the staff are incredibly helpful
Review 61:The location? The staff and the cuisine
Review 62:Breakfast, but I don't expect much from big hotel breakfasts so OK.
Review 63:Elisenda and her staff are incomparable, very attentive and service-oriented.
Review 64:Very friendly staff and excellent location
Review 65:Uninspiring breakfast, tortilla espanola bastante mala
Review 66:Friendly staff and having ski lockers that open right onto the pistas
Review 67:Comfortable, pretty nice hotel near the slops
Review 68:Hospitality and friendly employee.
