Reviews for Temple Gardens Hotel & Spa

Review 1:The room was in desperate need of upgrades. Bathroom sink cracked and rusted, toilet old and yellowed, carpet and tile old, frames needed paint. It was needing renovations for the dollar value.

Review 2:The mineral pool

Review 3:Relaxing atmosphere. Very friendly and helpful staff. Located in the heart of downtown Moosejaw, within walking distance of all the most interesting sites. Great destination!

Review 4:Temple Garden's is one of our nations great places to escape for some rest and retreat time. I always leave feeling recharged. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the pool is refreshing, and the food superb.

Review 5:Rooms are outdated, could use a freshen up. Parking is an issue, went out to eat and had a hard time finding a parking spot when we returned, had to wait for someone else to leave.

Review 6:The pool

Review 7:Tiny bathroom in need of repair, loose sink, marked up tub,low lighting in room, sketchy electrical, hard pillows, rooms too warm and temp hard to control, long walk to parking, over priced rooms and spa treatments.

Review 8:Excellent restaurant,nice staff,the water,good location.

Review 9:Easy access to everything like the casino ,shopping, resturants and local attractions.the jacuzzi was a nice touch.finally the rooms were very relaxing

Review 10:The restaurant service was poor. Ordered the special and was brought something totally different. The outside pool area needs some upkeep and cleaning

Review 11:The quiet The pool

Review 12:For the price you should get more. The restaurant and bar are over priced.

Review 13:The hotel is centrally located close to all the shops and across the street from the Casino.

Review 14:Hotel rooms and building needs an upgrade. Disappointing to share pool with babies and kids. Earlier adult only time needed. Overpriced for quality of hotel.

Review 15:Location, mineral pools, good food.

Review 16:We had the spa tub in our room and it took forever to fill it up and it was not comfortable getting in and out of it so we only used it once.

Review 17:We enjoyed the spaciousness of our room . We also like the location as could walk around the main street to do shopping.

Review 18:We had a little trouble booking the room online. We wanted just to find the phone number of the facility but couldn't . Also when we arrived, it wasn't really clear where we should park but we eventually did find the loading zone.

Review 19:It was nice to stay in the hotel and use the pool whenever we wanted. The pool was very relaxing and the sauna was great. It was an all around good trip.

Review 20:We did not wish to take part in the Thanksgiving banquet, and it took 45 minutes for us to receive our meals in the bar. We only ordered hamburgers, so we were disappointed in this fact. Initially, they brought only 1 hamburger after 30 minutes, then had to take it back to bring 2, and it took way too long.

Review 21:Very relaxing stay! Wonderful service.

Review 22:We had a jacuzzi suite. The jacuzzi had likely not been used in quite some time because the water that initially came out of the tap was very rusty. After running it for quite a while it eventually ran clear.

Review 23:Location is lovely. Site was beautiful. Staff was very friendly and well prepared.

Review 24:The rooms are very tired.. Thought his was going to be spa-like. They were not.... Very basic. Expensive rooms for what they are but you are there for the mineral pool.

Review 25:Obviously we went for the pool and not the rooms. The mineral pool is excellent !!

Review 26:The heating system in the room did not work. The fan in the heating system was very noisy. The Thursday afternoon/evening staff were not at all helpful. This same staff did not even know about special events taking place in Moose Jaw. A very stressful beginning to our stay in Moose Jaw.

Review 27:The hotel was close to many historical places and family restaurants.

Review 28:the juqusie tubs noise from other rooms noisey at late and early hours

Review 29:location to all of moosejaw and what it has to offer to a tourist the pool was great staff were all awsome

Review 30:I had needed room for 2 adults and 2 adult children which we didn't get. And the food was not suited to teens in th restaurant

Review 31:They accommodation of room for

Review 32:Way too expensive for what you get. Rooms need updating, robes are old, the only good thing was the toiletries in the bathroom (aveda). Tub didn't drain (which they gave me 10% off one night.

Review 33:The pool was nice, enjoyed it.

Review 34:Our king room with mineral spa tub was supposed to be one of the most luxurious ones available. 30 years outdated with MANY problems. Shower door did not close!!! 3'×3'shower where do you think the water goes?

Review 35:Did not enjoy the fact that we pay for parking. Room did not have face cloths or towels in shower.

Review 36:Staff were extremely helpful, friendly, professional, dressed well which compliments all the deco., really enjoyed the pool and mineral springs, only one night stay so did not use all that is available. Did use poolside eatery very prompt and friendly service

Review 37:We had a bad experience at the restaurant. The only item on the menu that we were familiar with was the hamburger. It was very bland, when we asked why there was no salt and pepper on the table and why we were not offered any other condiments, we were told that it was an insult to the chef to add any thing to what he had cooked. this is Saskatchewan not Paris. Why not offer local cuisine to visitors to our province?

Review 38:The building and rooms could definitely stand to be updated. It is a really nice place but could stand some cosmetic TLC.

Review 39:We really enjoyed the Spa and the Mineral pool. The location is ideal for checking out downtown Moose Jaw.

Review 40:Dont order room service. It was very expensive and what showed up was pitiful. Go out to eat, lots of close places. Book spa services before you arrive.

Review 41:Staff Spa Bed Parkade pass Pool open 7am to midnight Robes

Review 42:room was in need of repair/poor heat/a/c have been to spa several times...this was not good value ...for the money expected much more

Review 43:location

Review 44:We were on the older side of the hotel & it is starting to show it's age, it could use some T.L.C. in the rooms & the pool area.

Review 45:The location of the hotel to the downtown, restaurants & casino is great that way you park your car & you can walk everywhere you want to go to.

Review 46:They need to keep the kids from going in and out of steam room. They have no clue about keeping the door closed and the heat in.

Review 47:We stay there about every 4 months. Its everything we could ask for....awesome retro stores to visit in the area, casino right there, and of course the spa

Review 48:Room service, ordered times different times. Meal one, they forgot one place setting for two meals...had to share cutlery. Second, breakfast, no salt and pepper provided for the bacon and eggs. Third, took an hour to get a burger sent up before check out at noon.

Review 49:The accommodations and hotel are so well kept, we felt like we were the first ones to ever stay in the room! The pool facilities are perfect, temperature of the water couldn't be better!

Review 50:Too many non hotel guests using the pool during this stay. Hard to relax.

Review 51:We love going to relax in the pool. And there is a restaurant behind the hotel called bobbys place that is amazing.

Review 52:No bath robes in our room to use for the pool. Had to call front desk but not a big deal.

Review 53:The mineral pool is so relaxing. After being in there you sleep like a baby!!!

Review 54:lack of parking had to park on the street over night meals over priced for what you get

Review 55:staff was helpfull location was great realy enjoyed the pool

Review 56:Booked a room with a balcony which turned out to be very small and the chairs provided to sit on were very cheap and shaky. Free breakfast provided would be a nice addition.

Review 57:Room was adequate. Pool area was well looked after. Loved the robes.

Review 58:For the price you pay ($200 per night which is a discount for a Sunday night) it would be great if they had decent coffee for the in-room coffee maker rather than Mother Parkers or whatever that was. Also someone had been eating sunflower seeds in the pool and the shells were piled up on the side, alongside a used Bandaide. No one cleaned it up during the 2 hours we were there. There was also a Bandaide and a few flies floating around. I was going to take a shower but the showers had not been cleaned recently as the one I chose was covered in black hairs all over the wall and there were wet tissues on the floor. This was very unappealing and I skipped showering in the pool area.

Review 59:The hotel room was excellent as usual. We have stayed here many times. The room we had had a luxurious feel and was large, clean and comfortable. We have had much smaller rooms, but this one was very spacious.

Review 60:We were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the whole hotel. The entrance lobby doors are disgustingly dirty and the elevators and all entry ways were dirty with dirt and stains. The rooms are old and need upgrading for the room charge we could stay in a newer hotel with cleaner and more up to date rooms.

Review 61:Staff were very friendly.

Review 62:That we did not get a free breakfast with that price and ALSO had to pay for parking. I found this place VERY expensive... We also had to pay extra for a third person when the room was obviously made for four.

Review 63:Nothing terrible to sayexcept I think that the pool should not allow children so late! Its a time to relax for some mature folks and probably didn't help them!

Review 64:All was great except for the arrival! Asked for no room by elevator and got one but girl at front desk changed that quickly! Very accommodating lady Nadine? Gracious and made our stay even better with the upgrade! Thanks

Review 65:Economical when you consider pool admission included. Mineral pool and spa on site. Easy to find. Take Main St in and out of town, directly off #1 hwy. Efficient and friendly person on check in. Fridge in room. Well rated restaurant on site and Bobby's nearby.

Review 66:We came from a hotel that had a kitchenette, contential breakfast HD cable for $119 (paradise inn). Then came here and for $220 we received a simple room and a robe. When we were checking in we heard the clerks asking their guest what floor they would like, explaining to them about what they have in their rooms. The lady helping is didn't do any of that. Took our payment, gave us our room key and told us to have a nice stay

Review 67:Mineral pool, balconies, bed & robes

Review 68:The hotel rooms are located in two different buildings and navigating your way between the two is difficult.

Review 69:The outdoor part of the pool and sitting area was very nice. The pool is large and the lifeguards were very diligent.

Review 70:Parking was an additional fee, bed I had was very uncomfortable

Review 71:The use of the pool (when available), easy access to the casino. The staff was friendly.

Review 72:The staff all seems to have piercings and are not extremely friendly. At such a beautiful hotel that would make all the difference in having a great experience. Some areas of the hotel also seemed a little neglected.

Review 73:Loved the pool area and the poolside snack bar. Also had great meals in Harwoods restaurant.

Review 74:The staff were great friendly approachable knowledgeable and accommodating. The atmosphere was relaxing; the most unfortunate experience was our schedule only allowed us to stay for one night, we will book again.

Review 75:I tried to book on line , succeeded but when I confirmed , I was told no it was not booked . Even though I had a confirmation number . Very rude the gentleman was to me when I tried to figure out what happened .

Review 76:The fabulous hospitality at the front desk . Called about what happened when booked on line and the lady that worked with me over the phone found me and yes was booked but the on line booking had my name wrong , they placed my last name first . Thank you to the wonderful lady at the front desk in finding me. Because my couple days there was to relax and and releive stress from the loss of my late husband . Thank you for the great staff at the spa ! I did just that.

Review 77:This will be my last time staying. The price is way too high for the condition of the rooms. The pillows were terrible. Even our 6 year old complained about the pillows. The room needed plenty of maintenance and the bathrooms were not very clean. The air conditioner didn't work properly. The spa area was only cleaned at night and not throughout the day. The steam room was broken...again!!

Review 78:I have stayed here many times...the last time was terrible so I thought I'd give them another chance. The beds were comfortable and a soak in the spa before bed was wonderful.

Review 79:The room we were in needed maintainance. The sink was chipped and the walls needed repair and repaint.

Review 80:The mineral pool was wonderful, definitely the main attraction.

Review 81:Spa, gift shop, dining prices are a bit high for the quality of product (particularly the dinner menu).

Review 82:Location if great, facilities are very good, as always. We prefer a winter "get away" when we can really appreciate that warm water.

Review 83:called ahead to make sure our room was ready and they said it was...but when my husband showed up they said it was not ready. We had to be at an event right away so couldn't check in until late at night. the kids would have liked to have been able to swim earlier

Review 84:The beds were uncomfortable, the room temperature was uneven and the air conditioner loud. The price was very high even with a discount, and did not include breakfast or any amenities other than the lending of a robe. I would have been thrilled at $150 - $165, but not at the price charged.

Review 85:The pools and staff are certainly the highlight of Temple Gardens! The town of Moose Jaw is delightful and the freedom of the day pass to the pools was really nice.

Review 86:This hotel does not offer breakfast included, but they did have a huge breakfast buffet on Sunday morning for a reasonable prize. The 38 degree pool was not exactly what you want on a scorching hot 35 degree Celsius day (even though it was still relaxing late evening); however the hotel is conveniently located within a block of one of the city's outdoor pools.

Review 87:The Temple Gardens Mineral Spa is an excellent hotel to relax beside the great indoor/outdoor mineral pool. We were a group of 7 adult family members and the front desk staff was able to put us in three adjacent rooms.

Review 88:Our swim got cut short because of a lightning storm. Too bad but even you don't control the weather

Review 89:Great breakfast in the morning with an awesome server

Review 90:The staff here, with the exception of the front desk, were very cold and not very friendly. Wouldn't look us in the eye. And the lack of recycling bin in our room was disappointing. The pillows were very lumpy

Review 91:The food at hardwoods was excellent. The room was large and spacious. Check in and check out were fast and efficient. The front desk staff were helpful and friendly.

Review 92:Rooms were too hot even with the ac on, which was very noisy. Menu in dinning room has limited choices and over priced for the meal you get. Not suitable for family dining.

Review 93:Close to historic downtown. Walking distance to amenities.

Review 94:the bathtub was extremely Stained dirty but nothing that a scrub brush and bleach can't fix. Also was a pubic hair in the sink

Review 95:I liked being able to walk everywhere we were going. The front staff were professional and kind

Review 96:I didn't like that I was unaware of some of the special rates being offered. We had a senior staying with us and had no idea that we could have switched days and gotten a special senior's rate. Consequently we paid way more than we should have. Bummer!!!

Review 97:We loved the pool and hot tub! The bed was so comfortable as well - very relaxing stay!!

Review 98:We were limited on our time in the room as it was a busy weekend. When we walked it it smelt pissy! between the desk and the cabinet that use to house the tv it smelled like someone he peed in that corner. When we were trying to get ready the next morning for check out and the competition that would be all day, so that is why we were checking out early. The coffee pot was dirty!! Had dried up coffee in it, and the bathroom sink drained very very very slow, not sure it was empty when we left!! The bedding smelled like dirty hair that has not been washed for a few days! when I complained I was told if I had complained the day before they would have done something!! we were busy and some of it was not even noticed till the morning and I was told when I reserved that was the last room! so how could they have "done something" about it any way? Do not plan another visit ever at this point.

Review 99:the pool was good and the location was central and the bed was comfortable.

Review 100:the rooms are starting to need a little bit of a face lift. Paint, plumbing fixtures, etc ... pretty exspensive rooms and the hotel also charges you a parking fee

Review 101:we have been here before and it is always a nice get away. Outdoor mineral pool is awesome.

Review 102:Luggage would not roll proper and my wife is very ill and in a wheelchair and getting into our room from the parkway entry was very difficult and the door has no disability opener on it and this all contributed to my back injury.

Review 103:Everything

Review 104:The snack bar at pool side was not adequately supplied- often out of menu items.

Review 105:The facilities are excellent, the staff helpful and courteous and our stay was very enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel.

Review 106:shower was abit of a tight squeeze for my husband

Review 107:At check in we could get into our room early....the front desk had our requests and tried to accomadate all....very profesdionaand helpful

Review 108:I requested a king bed room with a hot tub and was told upon check in that we were getting a "free" upgrade to a room with 2 queen beds and a hot tub. I said thanks but no thanks as we were on a romantic get away for our anniversary and didn't need two beds but they only kept repeating but it's a free upgrade and couldn't change it, very disappointing.

Review 109:When we arrived the whole main floor smelt like fish, not an inviting aroma. We went for couples massages and my husband's massage he felt was a little rough and couldn't relax so it didn't work quite as I planned and we couldn't fit in the parkade otherwise a great stay.

Review 110:Love the pool especially the outside part...it is so warm and relaxing.

Review 111:I realized the experience could have been much longer which would have touched body and soul to a deeper level!

Review 112:The most spectacular exiting and tantalizing waters of the Spa!

Review 113:our room had chipped paint, no microwave, and there was empty beer cans when we arrived. the bathroom was very run down as well, for 200 dollars a night you obviously are just paying for the spa

Review 114:mineral pool

Review 115:We mostly enjoy the outside spa area and, in particular, I look forward to the steam room. Living in Regina, travelling to Moose Jaw to the spa and staying overnight at the hotel is a lovely little get-away.

Review 116:Minor thing was the shower door might have been too tight as was very hard to get the door open once you were in the shower. Some of the tiles on the jacuzzi needed replacing.

Review 117:It was a very peaceful quiet room. The staff was very quick and efficient. The facilities were great. Pampering at the spa was wonderful.

Review 118:I really was not impressed with Hardwood restaurant on site. $8.00 for a starter Cesar salad that honestly consisted of two uncut pieces of wilted romaine lettuce, some croutons and a dab of dressing beside the lettuce leaves. Art? maybe but overpriced.

Review 119:Room needed updates peeling paint and shower had a funny smell the spa and Pilates needs new carpet and painting

Review 120:Hallway carpet is new and freshly oainted

Review 121:The meals were surprisingly expensive at the Harwood Restaurant. My wife and I also found band-aids in the pool...

Review 122:Nice and quiet with a lot of time to go to the mineral pool and just relax.

Review 123:The new Chef has a nice modern menu that was excellent. The room decor looks fresh even tho we were on the pool side. Like the lighter robes and they fit a larger man.

Review 124:We had two nights one day and the pool was cool the full day we were there. We were locked out of the outdoor spa for some reason on feb 4 2015. We only get that one day being low income senior dissapointing.

Review 125:The decor

Review 126:not getting our room cleaned one day. called front desk next AM.and still nothing until we begged to maid 2PM to do our room. The lounge does not use any alcohol in bar mixed drinks

Review 127:Hotel,pool decor was 1st class

Review 128:Restarant menu could be changed to add items for children and have more choices.

Review 129:Room was very comfortable and staff was accomodating. Pool was excellent as well as sauna.

Review 130:Pillows were to hard.

Review 131:- did not realize pool was closed for annual maintenance. The young lady was very nice & upgraded us to a room with a jacuzi and fire place. Very nice. Would like to come back so my husband can experience the pool as I did a couple of years ago.

Review 132:The room was noisy. You could hear the guest next door. We were in the old part and the distance between the door and floor to the hallway was approx 1 inch. Hense one could hear everyone walking past and talking.

Review 133:We stayed there the first day after the pool opened from a maintenance shutdown and it smelled of paint and if you touched any of the pool surfaces your hands smelled of fresh paint

Review 134:Great location, friendly staff, comfy room

Review 135:Suite we had looked at the wall of a building, with the price of suites they should all face the park and leave the back alley rooms to to the regular price.

Review 136:Nice room, very good bed. Restaurant was good and as a whole hotel was clean.
