Reviews for Coast Osoyoos Beach Hotel
Review 1:The walls were paper thin. Lots of noise but none other then when people are moving into or out of their room.
Review 2:Room was very clean and breakfast was very nice.
Review 3:Nothing was really bad. Breakfast however was pretty thin. Weak coffee. Modest toast. Even the automatic pancake maker kind of killed the magic of how I envisage breakfast. How about scrambled eggs?
Review 4:Waking up at a lakeside location. A delightful start to the day
Review 5:Just a comment: they should add a skim milk or almond milk choice for those who can't digest whole milk.
Review 6:Good location, nice pool with slide, nice hot tub.
Review 7:We couldn't understand why prices were still so high in the last week of September.
Review 8:The location is excellent! Great breakfast room even had hot porridge!
Review 9:Extremely noisy. Every person talking and every car door closing in the parking lot comes through the paper thin walls loud and clear. You can hear conversations in adjoining rooms. The smoke alarm went off twice after midnight until it was disabled.
Review 10:good location, helpful staff
Review 11:Difficult to maneuver the Baggage Dolly around with slopes at entrances. Only 1 elevator and difficult to get items to room. Front desk unmanned in the evening. Wild party next to my room until 2:00 am and no response from staff.
Review 12:Because we had our dog we couldn't have a water view. Only the parking lot which was disappointing.
Review 13:Location was great - on the water and very central to town shops and restaurants.
Review 14:Parking is a bit onsite, if you have a pickup truck it is best to park it on the road.
Review 15:Great place to stay at over all. The had 4 natural gas BBQ's for you to use throughout the day. They have a air compressor on site to inflate your floating devices for the lake, just ask one of the workers there. This hotel had a lot more beach square foot than the Holiday Inn next door.
Review 16:Overpriced. Needs to be updated. No closet in the main bedroom, no ironing board, fan over the stove was dirty, the microwave exaust was dirty. They charge you extra if you don't clean your dishes. Too few electrical outlets (recharge phones and tablet). Miror over the work table was dirty and the desk chair much too low.
Review 17:Location
Review 18:We were told our room was ready but when we walked in the room was filthy and the bed wasnt made. We have stayed at this hotel 3 years in a row and this will be the last time. The room didnt smell fresh and for the price we could have stayed at a luxury hotel.
Review 19:I liked the beach front location
Review 20:My only complaint is there was only one night stand...my side of the bed only had a standing lamp....kinda annoying. The rooms are small but adequate (we had a standard room, queen bed, couch, dresser with tv, small table and chairs and a little fridge). I'm sure they could have room for a small night stand and table lamp in replacement of the standing lamp on the one side of the bed.
Review 21:Awesome location, very, very clean, great view and beach. And very friendly staff
Review 22:Not enough umbrellas or beach chairs. Management tried to get guests not to 'reserve' seating, but more chairs and unbrellas would solve the issue. A private beach, but there is still a lot of wave action from boat traffic for younger children swimming, it was challenging.
Review 23:Lack of parking after 5 p.m.A/C in bedroom stopped working thru out the night.
Review 24:Informative staff, the Coast kitty that greeted you on the way to breakfast.
Review 25:The rooms are very small and the private beach is not what you expect. We checked out early and went to the Watermark for the second night.
Review 26:Starbucks coffee in the rooms
Review 27:one washroom for 7 people ? there should be 2 washrooms to accomodate 7 people. luckily we were only 4. not enough parking. we had to park on the street overnight. breakfast was as basic as it gets. staff could use more smile.
Review 28:location, view from the balcony, kitchen
Review 29:Housekeeping came around very late, like 4:30-5pm. We had to refuse because we needed to get ready for supper. Breakfast was nothing but a carb fest. The only protein was hard boiled eggs.
Review 30:The wifi connection and the beach
Review 31:Water noise in room 109 was so loud ear lugs didn't drown it out...thanks to the neighbour having a two hour shower at three in the morning.
Review 32:Amazing location and beach
Review 33:Breakfast was no good, too many sweets, no protein or healthy options. Room is tiny for the price, no closet but still functional overall. People get up early and 'save' all the beach chairs but leave them empty half the day!
Review 34:Location was good, room was clean, beach is nice.
Review 35:Wifi was terrible, breakfast on throw away paper plates, not even one gluten-free option, only 1 night table, on the other side of the bed the couch was pressed up to the bed, had to share a long balcony with other rooms
Review 36:location
Review 37:can be a little loud with all the kids. people occupy beach loungers with towels etc though they are not around for hours. in general not enough loungers available.
Review 38:great location right at the beach
Review 39:Even though it was non-smoking in the beach area, some people were ignorant and ignored the postings. I think the staff should be occasionally checking up on things like this more and making sure it is staying non-smoking.
Review 40:Staying here was a pleasant experience. Staff were pleasant and the facility was clean. Great for kids as there were sand toys and floaties available and there is a large part of the lake that is sectioned off and not very deep. Loved the lawn chairs available too for tanning. We would stay here again.
Review 41:no closet to hang our clothes breakfast was a lot of wheat products and empty carbs housekeeping came at late in the afternoon when we were already coming back to freshen up for dinner
Review 42:great location
Review 43:Breakfast and coffee could have been better.
Review 44:Room was lake front, just steps from the beach. Beach towels and lot of loungers readily available. Breakfast was basic but fine. AC included, which was definitely key. Room itself was basic, but TV had cable and bathrooms were fairly new and clean
Review 45:Service was only ok. We specifically requested my friend's family stay next to my family's room 4 months ago when we booked the hotel, but still we got assigned in rooms apart. We stayed there for 3 nights, only was given 3 single cups of coffee. We requested more coffees, was ignored and never given.
Review 46:Accessibility to the beach.
Review 47:Beachfront location Walking distance to shops and restaurants On a very hot day, the staff made sure our room was cool on our arrival Good breakfast included
Review 48:Great breakfast options offered bagels and cream cheese, various breads, pancakes and fruit as well as cereals. Location to beach was also very good. Staff were exceptional. It was a good experience.
Review 49:Hotel is in perfect location in this gorgeous area of BC, wine country. Right on the lake, this hotel boasts beautiful views and is central to everything. You will get a beach with a nice swimming area and an indoor pool. It's clean and cozy and assures a great stay.
Review 50:not a private balcony; breakfast was not very good - too much starch and coffee was awful; jam was stale - past best before??; room coffee was poor quality
Review 51:m was good, comfortable and clean
Review 52:My only complaints were about the bathroom: 1. the door would stick 2. the counter space was limited!!
Review 53:The location was great, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was fine.
Review 54:Bed, the odd "crammed in" furniture. Old style AirConditioner. Balcony screen without a lock. Lousy TV Stations!
Review 55:The Lake access and the beach.
Review 56:Room was very small for the price. We could have paid 20.00 and had a much bigger room at hotel next door.
Review 57:What I like is that the room is right on the water.
Review 58:Air condition is a bit old and dusty. There were bugs caught in between the door and the screen so we can not open the door.
Review 59:nice location right beside the beach.
Review 60:Breakfast? I wouldn't call it that! The only disappointment of my stay!
Review 61:Excellent recommendation for local restaurant by evening clerk. Lovely room, great area to walk.
Review 62:Didn't see a room safe but didn't request one. An extra pillow would have been nice, but then again didn't request one.
Review 63:Loved the location and the view. Clean, quiet, roomy.
Review 64:Walk in price was expensive. Drove down the street and booked on line for cheaper then drove back to check in.
Review 65:Loved the Pool/ hot tub. Nice free breakfast. love the view
Review 66:Too expensive to stay in summer months.
Review 67:Close to downtown, staff very friendly, good value, very quiet. Enjoyed the pool. Nice to have the breakfast included
Review 68:the continental breakfast was a little lacking, very basic.
Review 69:Has a fantastic view right from the patio door of the lake. very clean rooms and property.
Review 70:Irritating noises from floor above.Constant loud steps from pacing the room was very annoying.Extra blanket in drawer was ripped and full of holes. Pool towels had large yellow stains. There was a long black hair in the tub and on the base-heater in bathroom.
Review 71:The view of the mountains and lake. The staff were very courteous and efficient.
Review 72:Two queen beds were very close to the kitchenette. We only used the fridge, but would not want to cook with such limited space.
Review 73:The free wifi and pool with waterslides was great for our kids entertainment. Also appreciated the complimentary breakfast; it just made the morning easy. Location was close walking distance to everything.
Review 74:We stopped in this hotel travelling to Calgary from Vancouver. We arrived late and the manager was on scene . He was kind and friendly. Very pet friendly. The only complaint I have is the bed was not that comfortable .
Review 75:Could use updating in the next few years.
Review 76:For the price the location was great and we were upgraded to a nicer room during the off season cause it had a better view.
Review 77:TV remotes were crazily complicated. Breakfast so-so - would have loved some eggs and bacon or some other kind of gluten free options. (That said the kids loved the pancake maker)
Review 78:Loved the layout of our suite and the bedding was very clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Pool looked nice but we didn't use it. Great value. Kids loved the candy canes as part of the Christmas decorations. Nice family feel; we felt very welcome with our 3 kids (aged 2,4,6)
Review 79:The breakfast could use some protein, everything had sugar or starch.
Review 80:Good location, view of beach. Clean and comfortable. Starbucks in the room was a nice touch.
Review 81:The room we had was fairly small and our travelling companions had to upgrade to a much larger and more expensive suite in order to get more space.
Review 82:The view from our room on the second floor was spectacular.
Review 83:There was only one luggage rack, which for a double room was not enough. One bag had to be kept on the floor or the desk.
Review 84:This hotel is located right on the beach in Osoyoos. The room was quiet, comfortable and well appointed and included a microwave and a large fridge. A family restaurant and a more upscale dining establishment were within 200m, so one could easily walk for supper.
Review 85:It would have been nice to have a deck; some of the rooms have decking but it is not private. Also as a smoker, it would have been nice if the designated areas had a bench or something so you're not trying to balance a coffee and a smoke. It's hot there (and we're old!) so a seat would be nice by the ashtrays if the hotel actually cares about the comfort of their guests.
Review 86:The location was very good, and had one of the best beaches on the strip with a stack of inflatable water toys/mattresses so we really didn't need to bring our own. The included continental breakfast was a plus.
Review 87:Free breakfast. Bananas from Costa Rica nd apples from Washington! Ever heard of local? Poor quality bread. No bagels or English muffins.
Review 88:Clean, quiet, convenient, family oriented, affordable
Review 89:The view from the room was magnificent! The kids could play in the sand at the edge of the lake while we could sit on the balcony of the room and have a beer. Just magic. Room was great, staff helpful. Couldn't ask for more.
Review 90:The staff were very courteous and efficient. The rooms facing the lake are the ones to ask for. The beach in front of the hotel is cleaned up every day by a pleasant gentleman.
Review 91:Price was a little high.
Review 92:Located right on the beach. Take the elevator to the bottom floor and step out onto a gently sloping sandy beach perfect for the children to play on. Staff were friendly and went out of their way to meet our needs. Good breakfast with a better than usual selection of fruit.
Review 93:The air conditioning did what it was suppose to do....automatically turn on when the room became warm....if you're a light sleeper you can hear it turning on. Not a big problem at all.
Review 94:The staff were very nice and efficient. The breakfast was reasonable. First time I saw an automatic pancake making machine. The beach is steps away from your back door. Walking distance to the Supermarket and other stores.
Review 95:Not much in the way of really good food close by. Getting a room beach-side would've been better.
Review 96:Loved that there was a lake-front beach attached to the hotel. Nice clean rooms with great kitchens.
Review 97:The a/c blasted in the hallways up way too high. The room had cobwebs and some dust. Very noisy at times. Pool closed to early for the teenagers. Don't mind paying $300 per night but like the value of my money. Should have lounge at night. Was actually disappointed would stay at the Walnut Resort next time!
Review 98:The view from our room. The layout was good!
Review 99:Staff did not do as they said they would. Did not leave room unlocked w/ keys in it for our very late check in 1am. Room keys demagnetized very easily. Second deck outdoor hallway smelt musty. Front desk closes early... Night manager available by exterior door bell only.
Review 100:Pet option, good dark Starbucks coffee in room. Air conditioner was very adequate.
Review 101:Parking lot very tight, and not very many spots. There were no parking passes issued so I suspect non-guests may be parking there because of easy access to the beach from the parking lot. rooms where small for the price.
Review 102:Was given a room facing the lake on the first floor with direct access to the beach! The free breakfast was good especially the pancake making machine. The afternoon front desk staff where great.
Review 103:Will always wish for a hot continental breakfast. And WIFI was very spotty. But not much to complain about!!
Review 104:Absolutely love the location near the beach. Beautiful views and easy access to water sport rentals etc.
Review 105:Stayed in a city view room which only had a small window making the inside rather dark. Also, we arrived just before the Canada Day weekend and it's clear that parking isn't available for every room.
Review 106:Great location. Helpful, friendly staff.
Review 107:A little noisy since our room was across the pool and ofcourse noise from the beach but it wasn't too bad
Review 108:Great location. Beach was only a few steps from our hotel balcony. Continental breakfast was good. Loved the water slide in the pool. Free wifi :)
Review 109:Too many kids ! Lake is too shallow for swimming at this location, although ideal for kids.
Review 110:Viewpoint on beach is excellent. Indoor pool and hot tub were great on the one bad weather day.
Review 111:The continental breakfast was pretty boring. It was nice to be able to get up and eat without thinking. Very basic. I didn't go in the pool either. It was very green. The supplies in the kitchen were extremely scarce.
Review 112:Loved how central the hotel was, right on the beach with lounge chairs and BBQs available. The hotel seemed to be kept up nicely.
Review 113:Volleyball net in the water was too deep - should have been closer to the shore Sand in the beach was a bit rocky and hard on the feet Seaweed in the water
Review 114:Loved the location on the beach Wifi was good Beds were comfortable Great to have a full size frig
Review 115:The only thing that could use some upgrading is the breakfast, if you stay for any period of time you get tired of the same thing every day. What they had was good though.
Review 116:All the facilities are very up to date and the staff is excellent. We enjoyed the beach, you have a very helpful beach side assistant he was very nice.
Review 117:Breakfast served on paper plates and plastic utensils did not seem consistent with the quality of the facility and the location. Functional but tacky?
Review 118:Location, location, location. The room, bed, etc were very good.
Review 119:Front desk staff were grumpy-especially the woman named Delight. Not Delightful. I asked for a lake view and got the room farthest away from the beach overlooking the highway. yes you can see the other side of the lake from the small bedroom window....but this is not beach front. The kitchen was not properly outfitted....very difficult to make dinner. The fridge wasn't working properly and our food was spoiled. This and many other hotels in Osoyoos are just too expensive. This is not a hotel; but a 2 star motel with a good location. $300 a night is ridiculous. Definitely not worth it.
Review 120:Liked the free breakfast. Liked the location. Beach was excellent. Amenities at the beach were good. Pool and slide were fun.
Review 121:The room was small and the decor was very dated, pillows were old and lumpy, air conditioner was noisy and hard to regulate, included breakfast was awful with a poor selection of food items.
Review 122:The hotel was right on the beach, big balcony outside the room with a view of the lake, easy access to room with luggage, great place for families with young children.
Review 123:price,room size
Review 124:beach was nice, clean and water very warm.Room was too small for the 200+ dollar pricetag, expected more and have received more for this price..should have went to walnut beach resort for the 25 extra
Review 125:The room was too small. It was clean but old; therefore, it felt less than inviting. The breakfast was non existent. Cereal and instant coffee does not a breakfast make. If we were to return to Osoyoos, we would not stay at the Coast Hotel
Review 126:As there was only one bed in the room it would have been nice to have a couch or at least 2 chairs...
Review 127:The view of the lake from our room was amazing and such easy access if you had a family. Lots of good information about Osoyoos and things to do... Breakfast was good.
Review 128:Our stay here may have been completely different if we had a different room. Do not stay in 226. It has a very large window overlooking the pool area. This in itself is creepy. Although we could choose to close the blinds, the lit area from the pool was still so bright that it let light in when trying to sleep. Also, the noise from the kids playing late in the pool til close. And right away again upon opening in the morning was very disturbing and loud. There is no sound barrier at all. Even a simple heads up from the desk about our room may have eased the shock upon entry. Definitely not worth the price for the night. And unfortunately this one room with the window overlooking pool made for quite an uncomfortable stay.
Review 129:Location was great. Could walk everywhere. Ladies at front desk were kind.
Review 130:very good staff
Review 131:Loved everything
Review 132:Cleanliness and great selection for continental breakfast.
Review 133:could be a better breakfast
Review 134:The location was excellent, the staff was helpful, and the facilities were clean and easy to navigate.
Review 135:Breakfast was poor!
Review 136:Location is good, right on the lake.
Review 137:Noise carried through the walls and floor above.
Review 138:Breakfast and front desk staff
