Reviews for Youth Hostel Zug

Review 1:The employee that we found was very rude that we had to leave the hostel and find another lodging. The place is like a house that accomodates homeless people.

Review 2:I did not like Anything at the Youth Hostel Zug!!!!

Review 3:I hadn't expected that there's extra 6 CHF per person per night kind of Membership fee to charge. So I paid 12 CHF more than the price I saw in Booking.

Review 4:The Hostel is very close to the Zug Schutzengel train station and the peaceful Zug Lake. It might not easy to find the entrance of the Hostel, but you might ask any locals, they will be pleased to show you the way. The Hostel is very clean with good facility. The reception girl is very kind and helpful, she answered all my questions and printed the train timetable for me. I will highly recommend this hostel.

Review 5:Quite expensive for a youth hostel Have stayed in better Toilet paper lacking in communal toilets Didn't feel as though staff were keeping everything fully functional for travellers

Review 6:The hostel is very near to the lake and the railway station. Very clean and neat just as they Swiss people always do! I went there late and the staff leave me an envelope with my room card and they even made the bed for me! :)

Review 7:Pay very close attention to the check in time. There will be NO STAFF there at all until 5pm. I arrived at 3, as did several other people and there is no one there from 10am-5pm.

Review 8:Cheap and nice, good enough for a 1 night stay near Zug. Close to the train station and beautiful lake. Friendly staff.

Review 9:No proper signage to help drivers find the hostel. There could be a notice on their website how to find it. It is off the Main Street behind other buildings, reached by a narrow lane. People need to know this.

Review 10:The breakfast was delicious. All the facilities were excellent.

Review 11:Too noisy at night. The breakfast menu is terrible, I hope they can Improve the breakfast menu a little bit.

Review 12:First I was worried because I check-in at midnight but the good thing, the receptionist left the room key and the bed sheet for me. The next morning when I want to check-out, the receptionist told me that I can left my luggage in there while I'm going for a short while. so I'm glad with the service of the staff here. Very kind and friendly!

Review 13:Lot of Extra charge Expensive for an hotel far from Zurich Poor choice of breakfast No bed: sleep nearly on the floor

Review 14:Some facility like tennis table and pool

Review 15:Parking payment 7 CHF A little difficult to locate at night Signs need to be at the end of the street; they were at the main intersection a block away Key and code were on outside door, but sheets which I never found were at reception Not clear how to connect to internet Costly food in restaurants (often Italian)

Review 16:Location near train station and lake promenade Close to lake beach for swimming Would have liked a list of things to see and do Found the town quite lovely Great place to wander around Good hair salons Nice clothing selections Gourmet food shops Great bakeries Nice souvenirs Door open 24 hrs with code Will return to take lake tour by boat

Review 19:It was so extremely loud with kids running around until 23:30. I did not get a good nights sleep. It's just very unfortunate that after so many people stuck their head out of the rooms to tell the kids to be quiet, no one did anything about it. There were around 30 kids there.

Review 20:Breakfast was nice and common rooms were nice. The room was quiet with the other guests and well kept.

Review 21:Nothing.

Review 22:Excellent hostel, friendly staff, especially Sabine who was happy to accommodate any requests we had.

Review 23:very good location and very good staff

Review 40:Breakfast included Clean

Review 41:hard to find

Review 42:price for value

Review 43:The price display in the website might be misleading. Something has to be changed and availability of youth hostel card member need to be mention, because the price is different for the membership

Review 44:i like how the stuff leave the keys for us, eventhough we arrived at 2am

Review 45:Couldn't find anything to dislike apart from the hot chocolate which the children didn't like!

Review 46:The location was perfect as we had a Swiss pass and used the trains. We were able to cook our evening meals and make sandwiches to take out the next day in the kitchen. Our twin bedded room with shower etc was ideal.

Review 47:1) Additional membership fee of 6 Fr per person which was not mentioned when booking, instead of 71 Fr I was obliged to pay 83 Fr. 2) Paid kitchen of 3 Fr from person. I have never seen that kitchen in hostels is additionally paid. Small but unpleasant detail. Besides, kitchen it opened from 5 pm till 10 pm only according to the schedule. We were lucky and it was opened also in the morning. When kitchen is closed you can't make tea or coffee. 3) Shower rooms are opened from 5 pm till 10 pm only. 4) To close to railway branch, if you open a window you will hear them pretty well. 5) Check in in 5 pm,no internet available till then. In many hostels is.

Review 48:1)Pretty close to Zug railway station with product's supermarket and other infrastructure. 2)Closeness to berth on the lake. 3)Very clean everywhere. 4)Breakfast is included into the price. The range of products as regularly in Europe, corns, milk etc.

Review 49:Breakfast not served until 7.30am so if you have an early start you'll miss this. Weak wifi connection. No the place to take your partner if you're trying to impress.

Review 50:Basic and functional - the cheapest place to stay in Zug. Great if you're on a tight budget.

Review 51:It is a youth hostel so it was quite noisy late into the night. We were charged a membership fee of 12$/ day which came as a surprise.

Review 52:Reception was reasonably helpful - nothing over the top in regards to suggestions for activities in the area etc. breakfast was nice and it was included in the room charge.

Review 53:The elevator! Coz you need to tell the staff to turn on the elevator each time you need to use it! So when I leave I need to leave my luggage at top levels then go down to ground floor and find the staff to turn on the elevator, then I go upstairs again to wait for the lift which is kind of inconvenient.

Review 54:Clean and very standard, no bad surprise and price is no surprise as in Switzerland.

Review 55:No tea and coffee facilities, parking fee, very expensive for such a basic room. Had to ask to use lift and hours of reception opening were very limited

Review 56:Free internet in room
