Reviews for Hotel Beek
Review 1:Having some arrangement of coffee in the room will really make it perfect.
Review 2:This hotel is in the middle of a nice square, with roman bath on one side and shops and eateries around it. Very friendly hotel staff. Nice specious room. Fantastic place to relax.
Review 3:Having very bad experience with the management, who is trying to save money on staffing - there is nobody at the reception after 6pm, hovever nobody was there whole morning till our check out. We payed extra bed, but it wasn´t in the room. We phoned on mobile at 7pm, a woman answered that it will be solved within 5min. After 30 min we phoned again - mobile was off, on our SMS no reaction. At 10pm phoned again, woman answered, in 30 min arrived a man with the bed. No sorry, just said this was not his responsibility. Morning we wanted to speak with the manager - but she was coming in around noon, check out is at 11am. We told the breakfast lady, but so far no interest from the manager. The hotel is beautiful, but with bad managment.
Review 4:The location, building
Review 5:Not the breakfast we expected with regard to the fact that we ate it in Café Beek. Where were all the fresh bread? Very stressed personnel. WiFi hardly working, not even for the staff.
Review 6:Location, location and location. Nice enough hotel with big room.
Review 7:Being gluten intolerant I notified this hotel in advance about this. Upon arrival I also asked and the lady told me this was fine. At breakfeast there was no glutenfree bread nor muslie. All I could get was a salat. It would have costed the hotel nearly nothing to buy some bread for me still the lady in charge choosed to not do so. Nothing can compensate for speaking untruthful to a customer suffering from a disease needing special diet. Neglecting to notify and making a pleasent visit so unpleasent.
Review 8:Everything. The staff were happy to help. The room was immaculate. The balcony was a bonus. Supper on the balcony with a bottle of wine, excellent. Breakfasts were delicious.
Review 9:There was an error with our room booking. As we arrived in the evening there was no one around to sort it out, but the following morning the problem was resolved quickly, professionally and satisfactorily.
Review 10:Waking up daily to a view of the the Neues Schloss and the Friedrichsbad from our room was a delight. The breakfast buffet was fresh and varied but surprisingly lacking in a range of German breads. The location of the hotel means everything is within walking distance.
Review 11:our room looked out on the baths but unfortunatly we were woken up by the building work being done in front of the baths.
Review 12:very central for baths and town. good breakfast.
Review 13:Street signs says Beeg not beek. Pillows are thin like pancakes. I'm glad to have my travel pillow with me. My calls were unanswered after hours. No real reception desk but the staff at the cafe helps
Review 14:Location to the thermal spas. Great bfast included. Baggage storage after check out.
Review 15:Vacation was very short...
Review 16:Locations is wonderful, just very short walk to Caracalla and everywhere in Baden. Hotel is very small, only 25 room and you feel like home away from home.Breakfast is very good and dessert is the best in town! Staff is very friendly and doing everything possible to make you stay comfortable.Special Thank you to Anna, she made our stay unforgettable. We are definitely coming back .
Review 17:There was a constant hum from the air vents in the bathroom which I found intrusive as I am sensitive to noise. The staff were very casual - noone seemed to be in charge or very interested. They were friendly enough though - it was a look after yourself sorted of place which suited us.
Review 18:The location was brilliant, right next to the spas and in the centre of town. The price was also great. The room was clean and well looked after. Breakfast was tasty and had a lot of choice and plenty of food.
Review 19:It took some time for me to find as it is not on the main street, have to walk 7-8 minutes from the nearest bus station, the path is hard for big trunk to move. The mattress is a little bit too limp and not supporting enough.
Review 20:The room is clean and cozy. Very close to Friedrichsbad and Caracalla, quiet but convenient place with a lot of restaurants and shops within five minutes' walk.
Review 21:Room need some serious tlc and bedside lights. Clean and comfortable enough but it clearly needs some investment - peeling wallpaper, skimpy curtains, no bedside lights (though most hotel lighting leaves much to be desired).
Review 22:Location - although difficult to find as SatNav doesn't know about Baden Baden's closed streets (follow Blue parking signs for Therme). Excellent breakfast, but cafe under hotel closed ?for winter.
Review 23:be aware that you have either to park the car in Vincenti parking (cost around 15€/day), or find a remote free parking place, out of Baden-Baden.
Review 24:the perfect location in the center, nearby Caracalla & Friedrichsbad; the very complete and tasty breakfast; quiet and confortable room; clean bathroom; nice and professional staff
Review 25:--This no longer runs as an Hotel, but as a rooming-house plus breakfast, with top marks to the 'management' for not giving damn for its visitors, though they are quite keen to collect visitors' pay even before they arrive. My credit-card was charged 2 days before my arrival date, without any consultation with me of how I wished to pay. --There is no reception desk. --No one to welcome you day or night. --No manager -should one be necessary- other than over the phone; when they are mostly en-route elsewhere. --there is no local map or any other information available; instead, you are sent to the tourist info. centre to collect leaflets and advice. --The smoke detector in the ceiling flashes a red-light every 30 seconds, which I was informed was 'standard', although in no other hotel have I seen that 'style' smoke detector. --Although towels are changed daily if visitors indicate, how often bed linen is changed is a question. --This has turned into a cash-cow for the anonymous owners and invisible 'management' team.
Review 26:Location The cleaning team & kitchen staff were pleasant
Review 27:there is no menu in English or Russian; it is very confusing when you unable to choose your meal/breakfast for people who do not speak German; waitresses do help, but still we prefer to choose ourselves; otherwise the quality of food was excellent, but coffee could be stronger and reacher; mattresses in our room (203) are very tired and could be changed in the nearest future, of course, if finances permit; perhaps management have to think about changing shower basins and shower curtains - we think these have to be changed to more comfortable, bigger shower cabins; carpets at the restaurant already seen its better time - needs changing; beautiful furniture at the restaurant need new polish and upholstery; the quality of cakes is fantastic, like before!!!
Review 28:we stayed in this hotel already several times, mainly because of its good location - close to baths and easy access to centre and other attractions; comfortable cafe downstairs, where you can have your breakfast; staff at the hotel is very welcoming, helpful and kind to clients needs (booked for us taxi); we were glad to see familiar faces (lady who cleaned our room and also from restaurant); room was kept clean and tidy, we always had fresh towels if needed;
Review 29:1- To access wifi I had to stand in the corridor. No wifi coverage in room.
Review 30:1-The price was reasonable because I got the room with 44% discount, otherwise it looks expensive. 2- Good location. 3- Clean. 4- Good breakfast
Review 31:These people don't seem to care at all - I had a written confirmation of my room type, which I was told wasn't available when I arrived, and wouldn't be made available during my stay. Manager refused to show her face...made a young staff member deal with the issue. Terrible experience at Hotel Beek
Review 32:Excellent location relative to the old town of Baden Baden
Review 33:Nothing.
Review 34:Very good location, very close to Caracalla.Excellent breakfast and even better desert, may be the best in a town. One step from everything. Thank you very much.
Review 35:The shower had a very small tray, with only a curtain, no safety mat and poorly placed controls, which made it very difficult to shower properly and with confidence.
Review 36:I have known Cafe Beek for many years but had never stayed in the hotel until now. I chose it because of its location, so close the Friedrichsbad and the Fussgangerzone, and also because of the many enjobale aftenoons on which I have taken Kafee und Kuchen in the cafe.
Review 37:The reception at the hotel was never ever manned so no help was available for i.e. travel on buses/trains etc. Hotel/Cafe/Restaurant was closed by 7pm, mind you buy 8.30pm so was most of Baden Baden (September)
Review 38:The hotel was well situated for shops and restaurants of Baden Baden, bus travel was also convenient. Hotel was very clean although a bit tired in decor. Breakfast was excellent Staff did not speak english however I find this a good thing after all I don't speak German and confusion forms a part of a foreign holiday.
Review 39:The hotel is not staffed in the evenings. On arrival, 20:00hrs the Hotel appeared in darkness and the doors were locked. I had to telephone a number on the door and be told to find a key in the post box. After a long journey I expect a Hotel in this price range to have a member of staff on reception.
Review 40:The room was clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was good and was freshly cooked and served to the table. The location is great, right in the centre and only two minutes walk from the famous Spa.
Review 41:Hotel keeps it's charm and superb service. Everything clean and cosy plus an unbeatable location. Stays as our favorite base in beautiful Baden-Baden. Thank you!
Review 42:Very old rooms, basic furnishing and very noisy as its on one of the main pedestrian streets. Alarmingly over priced and the star rating is exagerated. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again and will not recommend it. The main business is the cafe and they do a very good job with that but they shouldn't have ventured into the hotel arena.
Review 43:In the center of the town
Review 44:The staff were very unpleasant and unhelpful. We asked for a second room and the unpleasant attitude from the manager couldn't have been worse if we had asked for it for free. As it was she charged us for 2 double rooms instead of 2 single. She demanded we pay for our 2 full days stay immediately we arrived and refused to give us a parking ticket even though we had booked it prior to arrival so we had to pay the full charge at a public car park. Everything we did caused a problem, wherever we went to sit at breakfast we were moved. We asked for cereal then scrambled egg and got scrambled egg then cereal, next day they left us waiting so long we left without breakfast. When we sat down outside for tea before 6.00pm when they were serving other people we were told the tea room was closed. The noise outside the hotel from the resaraunt across the square at night and from 6.00 am was horrendous. We are extensive travellers, polite and unobtrusive, I can honestly say we have never received such a disrespectful service
Review 45:The rooms were lovely, spacious, clean, practical
Review 46:My card is charged beforehand even though when we booked it says it is only for guarantee purpose. The reception is not available when we checked in and we had to wait for people to open the door.
Review 47:Other than receptionist, staff weren't friendly. Mini bar / fridge was missing from the room. Parking on the streets, but being in pedestrian area made up for this.
Review 48:Great location, close to centre of town and thermal baths. Breakfast. Balcony looking over street. Comfortable beds.
Review 49:Parking in a public park for 15 euro. You can get 7euro discount, from the hotel but it wasn't explained clearly how to use the card. Few staff members speaks English
Review 50:Great location. Nice room.
Review 51:Parking a few blocks away and cost adds to cost of room, but fine, knowing that hotel is in pedestrian areas
Review 52:beautiful rooms and so close to all including spas. Very nice breakfasts.
Review 53:No permanent reception
Review 54:Good location, very large nice warm comfortable room.
Review 55:Front desk not always manned., but helpful when found them
Review 56:Nice room, comfortable bed , good location, sweet breakfast.... all we needed.
Review 57:Problems with the internet connection

Review 72:Good location, just in two minutes walk to the thermals.
Review 73:No airco. Breakfast was very limited.
Review 74:Great location.
Review 75:Everything was fantastic from check in to leaving highly recommended.
Review 76:Difficult to find but once we parked, it was a great location for walking.
Review 77:Convenience, it was near the thermal spas, shopping, restaurants.
Review 78:Reception hardly speak any English. Struggled to find wifi password. Breakfast was minimalistic and cheap. No aircon!!
Review 79:Close to centre of town.
Review 80:Good location
Review 81:reception is not available most hours of the day.
Review 82:convenient location,very clean,satisfying breakfast,wi fi was ok
Review 83:We liked its allies: value for money, location, room, staff and breakfast.
Review 84:The fridge was not working in our room.... Very disappointed because we had perishables that we had to throw out N
Review 85:Location is central
Review 86:Lack of flexibility and indifferent attitude of staff.
Review 87:Location

Review 89:well decorate hotel,
Review 90:Poor WiFi
Review 91:Big room, Good Breakfast
Review 92:Location, location, location. Oh... and did I mention Beek Cafe full of wonderful cakes!?

Review 96:Location. Double room was also excellent- roomy, with comfortable beds. Great breakfast. Very helpful staff.
Review 97:Nothing all was great
Review 98:Very comfortable quaint hotel, good location to the baths.
Review 99:No one at anypoint was on reception it bit odd but had everything we needed
Review 100:Location Cleanliness Breakfast was superb Comfortable bed
Review 101:Nothing
Review 102:Great location near the spas and downtown; and a super friendly and helpful staff who were very accommodating. Highly recommended!
Review 103:The spa is right across the street. It was wonderful!
Review 104:Wifi it was poor
Review 105:Location so nice Breakfast Relax
Review 106:WI-Fi doesn't work on 3rd floor, No car park for guests, personel doesn't speak good english.
Review 107:Localisation, just opposite main attractions.
Review 108:No bar Noisy early in morning from dining room and outside church bells
Review 109:Great location Good room/ en suite Breakfast good
Review 110:Nice hotel great location and lovely staff. The breakfast was great too!
Review 111:high school students using whistles, bullhorns, music, & loud voices continually from midnight to 8am on our first night. According to staff "it is a tradition".
Review 112:location & breakfasts
Review 113:Great staff. Very helpful. The location is fantastic - right next to the Roman baths, close to shopping and site seeing opportunities. Breakfast was good. We loved everything about it. We would defintely stay there again.
Review 114:Staff not friendly, some did not say hello when we came, no smiles. Made us pay more for the room than the price we had on the booking. No reading light by the bed, had to get out of bed to switch off the light.
Review 115:The staff was short with us, rude and questioned our need for towels, when we had only been given one. The room had no ventilation and the window opened on to a noisy platz. The included breakfast was the same every day. Muesli or eggs. No other choices. Also be aware, unlike others on booking.com, this hotel charges you on the day of booking, not after your stay. Therefore you have no chance of changing the reservation.
Review 116:The location was excellent, although the parking was a couple of blocks away. This was not too far. Unfortunately the hotel staff did not explain the parking at all. We arrived late and called ahead. We were never greeted by a person. Instead our keys were left outside. Therefore we spent many extra Euros on parking since the process was never explained.
Review 117:The Russian speaking administrator came to us next morning after arrival in the restaurant. She was very polite and gave us all needed information as well as provided us with guest cards that gave us additional discounts in Baden-Baden city. The room was clean, nice breakfast and wi-fi worked properly. We really enjoyed our stay in Beek hotel.
Review 118:no remote control in room when arrived no information on how to access wi fi or to call someone to ask questions when arrived at 8.30 PM and was let in as night staff lady HURREDLY left hotel
Review 119:extremely polite and respectful day staff member ( or perhaps hotel manageress)
Review 120:Total absence of a person at reception was a big problem until we figured out that staff in the cafe were also staff of the hotel. Unfortunately, the cafe closed at 6pm. Few of the staff spoke english. There was virtually no written info and nothing in English. No breakfast buffet. We figured out after a day or two that we could order anything on the cafe's breakfast menu. The food was good. The hotel is recommended for confident travellers.
Review 121:Terrific location near baths, restaurants, churches, etc. Room was comfortable but might be noisy in summer as it overlooked a small plaza with great view and wonderful church bells. The bookstore nearby across from the town hall very helpful. Tourist Info office was helpful if you asked the right questions. Tour of casino, 4 euros, recommended. Also, Fredereichs Baths a high point.
Review 122:No receptionist! One has to ask the breakfast waitresses about anything. No town maps or leaflets about the town available. Cleaners expect to come in and clean soon after 9am.
Review 123:Location. Breakfast available until 11am.
Review 124:Only one room key available (could be left in a secure box, but accessible by all guests). Customer service was poor and non-existent after the cafe closed (6:00pm). WiFi was slow and dropped out regularly. There was no air-conditioning, but if the windows were opened, excessive street noise was a problem.
Review 125:The location was good.
Review 128:- Decor is dated (but it was clean, which is most important). - Breakfast was smaller than expected. I was surprised that we weren't offered any lovely pastries from their bakery.
Review 129:+ Incredible location for the spas. Just a minute or two walk to either one. + Close to all the shopping and restaurants around the spa. + Room was clean.
