Reviews for Reef Point Cottages

Review 1:Our hot tub jets didn't work! A hairdryer would have been nice in the room, but we got one from the front desk.

Review 2:Loved the cabins, clean and everything we needed. Great location, fantastic views of sunset and very quiet. Can't wait to bring the kids next time. The gal who was on staff when we arrived was wonderful, very friendly and attentive. She's a gem!

Review 3:That we couldn't find our key for three hours at 11:30 at night and then we eventually found our note which was soaked and barely legible

Review 4:The key situation after hours could use a re-vamp but other than that we had a great time. Thanks!

Review 5:Reef Point Cottages was a cosy little hideaway with a full kitchen. My husband and I were alone but would be great value for a family as our cabin had a queen and three singles in the loft.

Review 6:It wasn't really bad, but the slope of the parking spot was rather awkward. If it could have been levelled more it would have been much better.

Review 7:Having our own place rather than a room in an hotel where one would have to enter a building and go down a corridor etc. Having a facility where we could cook.

Review 8:Advertise sofa bed and king; actual a cheap queen. BBQ had to be disassembled to light, had to get my own propane Advertised dishwasher....missing Rule1; you must do the dishes or pay $25 extra. What is that about?? Chinze tv (1980's) Unpaved drivewayNo WiFi. no Pool.

Review 9:The balcony and view was nice and clean

Review 10:The wifi did not reach our cabin, and we had to go to the front office every time we needed to access the internet.

Review 11:The cabin was cozy and clean, and was a great place to post up during the rain and have as a base for the spectacular hikes on the Wild Pacific Trail.

Review 12:Not terribly clean. Several items were in need of repair. The gravel roadway was very noisy when cars drove by, especially in the very early morning hours.

Review 13:The cabin was cute and spacious.

Review 14:We were informed there were hot tubs on the decks.Only half the cottages have hot tubs and ours was not one of them.

Review 15:The location is very good. The resort is close to beautiful trails and only minutes from town. There is lots of wildlife nearby.

Review 16:Wifi only worked at main office. The cupboard in the kitchen was broken and the resort is not very pretty.

Review 17:the staff was really nice and the price was great.

Review 18:I booked for 4 adults & ended up with a small cabin with one bed & a small sofa bed right next to each other. Having booked this cabin for my parents & my wife for the weekend i was very disappointed with what we got for the money, the pictures when booking are very misleading. It would have been a great place to stay for just two people but the sofa bed is really uncomfortable. I doubt i will go back again

Review 19:I missed a wi-fi connection, and for the price I would expect some breakfast in the morning. Also, I really didn't like the fact that the windows did not open and the staff were missing very basic first aid supplies in the office.

Review 20:Very clean and modern cottage. I loved the kitchenett, saved us a lot of money on eating out. It even has a little porch with a BBQ !

Review 21:I think that "booking.com" and Reef Point Cottage need to come to an agreement about descriptions. We were informed by booking.com that this was a deluxe cottage with two queen size beds which was not the case. Staff explained that their description differed from booking.com.

Review 22:The location is just a walk from the beach and trails.

Review 23:In a quiet area on the edge of town, so you need a car go to the super-market. The cottage had every thing we needed except a washing machine, but reception will arrange for staff to do washing for you.

Review 24:The gravel road was really not good for my motorcycle, it was a struggle to get it out every time...

Review 25:The cabin was great, it had everything one would need, plus privacy, I only wish I could've stayed longer! The location is great, very close to trails leading down to the waterfront. I was very happy with my stay there, and would definitely visit again!

Review 26:1.No beach access 2.old tvs 3.no matress protecter 4.broken coffee pot 5.did not restock our ammentities or towels 6. Not a hot tub... was a soft tub 7.deck was filthy 8. No staff was ever around to talk during our stay 9. Dirty oven

Review 27:The view from our lodge.

Review 28:The bed was lumpy and the cottages are quite close together.

Review 29:Considering other accommodations will run you 200+ a night in the area, this cottage was great. It had everything you needed for your stay.

Review 30:Bed quite uncomfortable, but overall great place. $20 per day charged for our dog, which wasn't made apparent at time of booking.

Review 31:Great location, friendly staff, easy check-in and out, clean, comfy (except bed), pet-friendly! They even left us a bottle of wine for our honeymoon! Would definitely return! The pictures online make it look quite small, but we were pleasantly surprised that it was bigger than we expected.

Review 32:Our booking was incorrect. The hot tub was located on a very small balcony - hard to remove the cover. balcony was slippery with mildew and grime. Someone's T-shirt was behind the armchair in the living room. (Don't they clean?). Charged $20 a day for three days for the dog though they did not come in and clean while we were there.

Review 33:The cottage was located close to town centre. The ambiance of the cottage was nice.

Review 34:The only bad thing about Reef point was leaving!

Review 35:The staff was extremely friendly at check in, providing us with a map of where the best dining and sight seeing is! Also upgraded our cottage at our request.

Review 36:Dishwasher did not work well and a few extra plates, cups and pans would have been good. Bathroom was in need of an upgrade and we had a leaky tap during our stay.

Review 37:Pretty much everything - the hot tub was a lovely extra! The Manager was a lovely lady.

Review 38:Our cabin was cute, clean, comfortable, and stocked with everything we needed, including complimentary coffee. The front desk was super friendly and helpful. The wifi doesn't reach the cabins (you have to go to the front desk) but we didn't miss it since there was so much to do! Despite the cabins being close together, we didn't hear our neighbours after quiet hours.

Review 39:greeted with a ashtray full of cigarette butts on the balcony, used coffee grounds left in coffee maker and stains on the counters. bathroom moldy grout. internet does not work unless your in front of the office.

Review 40:hot tub was great. lady at front desk moved us quickly to another cabin and was very nice.

Review 41:Bed still had dust bunny's and garbage under it when we checked in... kitchen seemed to be missed a few useful items and bathroom had pink scum lines in the tub ensuring I would not attempt a bath! The bed was not comfortable at all. Never got a wifi signal while we were there?

Review 42:Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. Check in was easy, cabin was warm and toasty when we walked in. Location to the nature trails was great and enjoyed hearing the harbor seals at night.

Review 43:The kitchen in this unit was a bit cramped, but just fine for the two nights we stayed, its obviously planned this way as this unit was suited/ designed for two people max.

Review 44:I have been to Reef Point Cottages, but several years ago. I enjoyed it then and on my most recent visit. These are not luxury accommodations but they are very nice for a family, couple or solo traveller who wants some privacy, their own kitchen and plans to spend most of their time out doors enjoying the fabulous area. I enjoyed having the BBQ and other units had hot tubs. The location just cant be beat!

Review 45:The queen bed we slept on was very poor quality. For three days our backs & hips were sore. Definitely needs to be replaced.

Review 46:I liked the location. The cottages were close to a beach and the lighthouse trail. We BBQ'ed every night & used the hot tub too. The cottage had everything we needed. Great place!

Review 47:Horrible bed woke up with back pain. Loud neighbours in their hot top till 3 am yelling all night.

Review 48:Great cottage with everything you needed, good staff, and nice location.

Review 49:No hair dryer in unit, but was able to borrow one from the main office. Pillows were flat and worn making for an uncomfortable sleep. Fridge was right next to the bed and very noisy through the night. Would be nice if the towels were changed each day and the tub was clean. Old red water stains in the jets of the tub made me not feel comfortable to enjoy it. TV was sooo small

Review 50:Clean and fairly modern. Cozy and quiet. Good location.

Review 51:We loved staying at the cottages! We especially enjoyed our "couple-sized" hottub, out on the deck where we could look at the stars every night. The kitchen had enough for simple meals (we ate breakfasts and some lunches there) but it may be hard cooking more than a one pot meal :) There were some small salt and pepper packets, sugar and coffee provided, but we would suggest bringing any spices you may want. This is definitely somewhere we would like to stay again!

Review 52:I did not realize the property was not on the ocean side, but it was a limited inconvenience as I actually walked more.

Review 53:I was looking for a mini-escape, and that's exactly what I found. My little cottage was perfect for a solo traveler. Clean, bright and all I could want equipped with full kitchen, nicely appointed bathroom, and modern conveniences. The deck and BBQ were brilliant! The trail was absolutely beautiful.

Review 54:Hum from hot tubs at other cabins a little annoying outside in otherwise quiet area. Bit of dirt on floor tiles.

Review 55:The cabin was so cute and cozy, not your typical room like in a motel. When we phoned to say we'd arrive late they made arrangements for us to get into our cabin easily.

Review 56:Secluded, quiet location, cottage very functional and in excellent condition, very friendly staff. Thank you, Jessica! We will definitely come back again!

Review 57:Very poor internet connection, unable to connect for 2 out of 3 nights, no hair dryer, only 3 bed pillows, BBQ in complete disrepair, not able to stand at kitchen sink properly due to the odd design, run down gardens and unfinished approach to the cottage.....there's more, but I think everyone gets the picture.

Review 58:The quietness

Review 59:The cottage we were in needed new pillows and new chairs. The pillows were too thin to offer any support when sleeping. The springs were gone in the chairs.

Review 60:Well equipped kitchen, friendly and efficient manager

Review 61:WiFi range meant everyone not just us Sat on a rock in the gravel driveway ,suggest if WiFi can't 've extended put a bench there.

Review 62:Handy location, saw two deeds at our door stop, quiet and fully equipped

Review 63:Check in was very awkward - given some issues with booking and payment. Apartment was the last one available and it showed a little. (nr 10). Windows didn't open in Kitchen or Bathroom and the one in the lounge only stayed open if you wedge it with something.

Review 64:Solitude Location

Review 65:Kitchen was not really sufficiently equipped for 6 guests (as advertised). A table cloth or placemats would have been nice to have (for both the kitchen table and the table on the deck. The fan in the main bathroom was very noisy.

Review 66:The staff were very friendly, and helpful.

Review 67:There was a musty smell in the cottage (8) we had the windows open all the time but it was always present. In saying that sheets and towels very clean.

Review 68:The cottages were as expected. The tub was lovely and the cottage was easy to find even in the dark! We had 2 and we were next to each other.

Review 69:The lack of knowledge on cleaning while a guest on site, the clean towels smelled sour, and the kitchen was to small but manageable, the BBQ didn't seem like it was cleaned prior to our use and the rudeness of the staff when checking out.

Review 70:The privacy, the location and the comfort.

Review 71:Cost; seemingly high for a location that is not ocean/beach front and no view. Kitchen supplies are the bare basics, additional large bowls, measuring cup, cooking pans would have been appreciated. Beds too soft. TV way too small.

Review 72:Central location, layout of unit and beds good. Unit was fairly clean and up-to-date. Staff friendly and courteous.

Review 73:We weren't informed that on Tuesday evenings the city flushes the water system so our water was so brown we couldn't drink it or shower. We thought that the resort should post that so guests are aware and put aside drinking water.

Review 74:Large cabin with a lot of space, very clean and comfortable.

Review 75:The bed was very uncomfortable. Only 2 windows opened and air circulation was poor. The room was hot. No fan was provided so we bought one at the local coop so we could sleep at night. The armchairs were filthy. Overpriced for what you got.

Review 76:Tanya at the front desk was friendly and helpfull.

Review 77:Cottage 8 was so smelly of fish, I had to wash all greasy glasses and plates in dish washer which didn't work, the smell of fish, fried salmon? ..was so strong! The floor was greasy and sticky, even after I wiped around and cleaned up a bit, it didn't go away, It was everywhere I think! even after We left the place our suitcases stank of it!,

Review 78:Cottage 16 was good, not the cleanest but at least it didn't smell bad.

Review 79:Cathy in the office had really good tips and advice about where to eat and visit on our too short visit. I highly recommend the cottages at Reef Point.

Review 80:The cottage we stayed in had very little sunshine. Some more cutlery would be good. Kitchen sink plug did not work. Overall, general maintenance and repair needed - especially BBQ! Lacking patio table chairs.

Review 81:Very quiet. Armchairs very comfortable. Plenty of room for two people. Comfortable bed.

Review 82:Having to constantly ask for things to be fixed ie dishwasher,BBQ. Irritated by other things that didn't work ie microwave turntable,TV remote, blind opening operators etc. Nobody there to greet us on arrival within the working day.No room service on a 3night stay! No coin op laundry.Only 1teaspooon and not much useful cutlery.

Review 83:Lovely cabin, and location. Excellent facilities provided, if only they had all worked. Not conducive to a relaxing stay. This was the most expensive accommodation of our 19 hotel touring holiday.

Review 84:I felt they could have spent more time cleaning the bathroom. I also had wiffs of urine all night in the bed.

Review 85:The staff was very friendly and helpful. And knowledgeable. The room was quaint.

Review 86:wanted to stay three nights but was not offered a discount for the third night, no cleaning staff checked on towels or supplies, front desk was helpful though

Review 87:staff was friendly, great location, was clean upon arrival

Review 88:Petty of me to mention but there was no hair dryer. People normally don't travel with bulky items like hair dryers or clothes irons and such as they're normally in the room. As I said petty but preventing us from hair washing. But overall no biggie.

Review 89:Excellent service. Great coffee at the front. The staff at the extremely friendly. Great job.

Review 90:microwave was older, very noisy and chipped inside. barbeque was on its last legs.furniture was also quite old, and quite shabby looking, chair (at table) seats badly stained. the bed was very noisy and not very comfortable.

Review 91:The cabin was cute, hot tub nice, I like the floors. The staff were great! very helpful.

Review 92:The WiFi access was iffy, however the staff welcomed all to access WiFi at the office on-site.

Review 93:This is a GREAT place to stay. The staff is very friendly and the accommodations allow for privacy and are VERY comfortable. We have stayed at Reef Point Cottages for our last 3 stays in Ucluelet.

Review 99:friendly staff and well outfitted room

Review 101:Large covered porch, forest view, jetted tub, BBQ

Review 102:privacy,hot tub,kitchen pet friendly

Review 103:Wifi

Review 104:Very pleasant reception and very good location.

Review 105:Cabin was too small for ,4 people could have used a larger sitting area also.

Review 106:Close to amenities and trails. Very laid back and relaxing.

Review 107:No wifi in the cottage We had to go to the business centre if we wanted to send and email or call!
